Positive Reinforcement 🍃
The joke is that alhaitham will do the stupid grand sage job even if he hates it only because nahida asked him to stay by her side. He is a walking mystery but you can also read him like a book.

The US has asked China to urge Tehran to rein in Iran-backed Houthi rebels attacking commercial ships in the Red Sea, but has seen little sign of help from Beijing, according to American officials.
But US officials said there was little evidence China had put any pressure on Iran to restrain the Houthis, beyond a mild statement Beijing issued last week calling on “relevant parties” to ensure safe passage for vessels sailing through the Red Sea, a critical shipping route for global trade.
On Wednesday, the Chinese foreign ministry said Beijing was calling for a stop to “disturbance to civilian ships” and had “been in close communication with various parties and worked actively to alleviate the tension in the Red Sea”.
However, in veiled [?] criticism of the US and UK attacks on the Houthis, the ministry urged the “relevant parties to avoid adding fuel to the fire”, adding that the UN Security Council had “never authorised the use of force by any country on Yemen”.
The Red Sea tension was also a “spillover” from the Gaza conflict, which should be ended as soon as possible, the ministry said.[...]
US officials had hoped Beijing would take action because it viewed the Houthi attacks as a menace to its own commercial interests, given that the Red Sea was a critical route for Chinese exports to Europe.[...]
The Chinese embassy in the US said [...] China was concerned about the “escalating tension” in the Red Sea. The embassy said it served the common interests of the international community and that China urged “relevant parties to play a constructive and responsible role in keeping the Red Sea safe and stable”.

Several Chinese shipping lines have been redeploying their vessels to serve the Red Sea and the Suez Canal, in what analysts have said is an effort to exploit China’s perceived immunity from the Houthi attacks that have driven most other operators out of the area.
These smaller Chinese lines have been serving ports such as Doraleh in Djibouti, Hodeidah [sic] in [Ansar-Controlled] Yemen and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, all of which have faced big falls in traffic as international container shipping lines have rerouted to avoid potential attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
Among the shipping lines redeploying its fleet is Qingdao-based Transfar Shipping, which on its website describes itself as “an emerging player in the transpacific market”[...]
Leaders of the group have said that they will not attack vessels associated with China or Russia[...] as long as they have no Israeli links. The US has asked China to urge Iran to rein in the Houthis, without apparent success.

I just finished Tulin's storyline and excuse me while I bawl about this game further cementing the fact that Revali made himself a Champion. He was no descendant of an ancient Sage nor did he have a loving family to train him (that we know of). There was no power destined to be his: he crafted his own version of wind control without any support or spiritual guidance and excelled at it and then he and the other Champions went into battle without the special helms, without a sacred tear/charm to further enhance his abilities, without the certainty of two rulers (and a sage from the future) with god-like powers that could back them up if things went awry. Because of this, the original Sages survived where the Champions did not.
Revali was doomed from the start and if he'd known he would've still honed his craft and piloted Medoh with his beak held high and I am in shambles about it

can't stop thinking about Ayame. he's such an outlier to the zodiacs in so many ways:
-the only (adult) zodiac member not living on Sohma grounds.
-the only zodiac member who genuinely likes themselves and actively practices self-love.
-the only zodiac member with a sibling in the zodiac.
-the only zodiac member Akito hasn't harmed either mentally or physically (because she can't stand him lmao).
all of it makes him feel weirdly isolated from the Sohma family's trauma and the story as a whole. he isn't under the Sohmas' thumb. he isn't bogged down by hatred or self-loathing. he's never experienced Akito's wrath the way the other zodiac members have.
and it's fascinating to think about how he must've had a completely different experience from the other zodiacs. when he was growing up, Akito hadn't hurt any of them - Shigure and Kureno both had immunity, Hatori never caused problems, and the rest of them were too young or too obedient. Ayame never hated himself, nor did he ever find himself alone and friendless. he moved far away from the Sohmas, started his own business to make his own money, and hasn't had them breathing down his neck in years. he has, for all intents and purposes, escaped the Sohma family and its mountains of trauma completely unscathed.
and you know. i wonder if that's something else Yuki hates about Ayame. that all of the zodiacs have a horror story about Akito - that Rin got thrown out a window and Hatori lost an eye and even little Kisa was beaten half to death, that Yuki himself had to endure years of intense isolation, psychotic episodes, and literal fucking torture at the hands of Akito -
and Ayame never got hurt.
not even once.

reverse unpopular opinion: sonic idw comics?
OH THIS IS EASY I LOVE IDW
Specifically tho holy SHIT do I live starline he’s easily my second favorite sonic villain of all time (sorry gayboy but mephiles is number one)
Starline is so cool to me because when he’s introduced you know he means business but he’s still just some eggman fanboy. He’s a threat to his own right but that isn’t something we get to see until his idealization of eggman shatters.
For me what I like about starline always comes back to this page. This is the first time he’s really considering allowing HIMSELF to be in the spotlight, not just sharing it with eggman. From here we get to watch him build his own empire, one which inevitably crumbles when he becomes the exact thing he was fighting against. The way starline dies because he had adopted Eggman’s egoism always stands out to me. Starline never had issue before because he worked behind eggman, but after the creation of surge and kit, he lost his finesse. His carefulness.
Starline failed at being a villain because that was never what he was supposed to be. He was never fit to rule the world. He was never fit to take over. He was never fit to dethrone eggman. He was always meant to be a sidekick or a little gay henchman. It was when he tried to deviate from that that he failed.
He’s also just a really cool villain to watch work like I could talk for HOURS about when he tried to kidnap tails or when he actually did kidnap belle
