hey apparently there's an occurrence that can happen in AW2 when you play as Saga in the Nursing Home where Ahti just suddenly starts freaking out and talking like a normal person, and combined with the fact Ahti has been in Bright Falls for 3 years and Scratch was pretty much very close to getting the ending he wanted, and everything is centered around the lake getting fucked up when Ahti is literally a Sea God, it probably means Scratch was fucking with the lake so much to the point where it was making Ahti just lose his mind. and its very fucked up and i fucking hate it and i hate hearing him sad and lost and confused. this is the worst thing ever.
did you guys ever watch the movie A Wrinkle In Time. theres a god-like character in it that only speaks using other peoples sentences. when everything starts falling apart she starts speaking fully for herself, using her own words, and specifies to the main character that it means everything is falling apart. the reason she speaks the way she usually does is because the worlds are balanced. her speaking normally means everything is wrong and something needs to be done.
Ahti is never supposed to make complete sense. like you can generally get the gist of what he's saying but most of the time he's basically speaking his own weird lingo. him making complete sense is not good. Scratch was probably close to fucking killing Ahti even. i fucking hate this i hate this so much.
Things I would like to see more discussion about regarding Alan Wake 2 #1: Nightless Night.
So, Saga hearing the song in the Watery Overlap causes her to see a fragment of the movie the song is from. So the movie, in whatever form, exists in reality beyond the posters (and don't get me started on Thomas Seine playing Alan Veikki the writer) and was possibly the medium which created the events of Alan Wake the first game from Tom Zane's side.
But it also sets up Ahti as a janitor that joins the Federal Bureau of Control, the "it's not a loop, it's a spiral" and continues to flip flop between rehashing and rewriting Casey's journey through the ZANE'S FILM chapter, Alan's journey through the first game, the cult activities (it even echoes Ilmo's "stab stab stab" speech in the manuscript page about building the float), and whatever it was Barbara Jagger actually was to Tom Zane before they came to America.
The random sunny car ride inserts in true Twin Peaks Season Three style only add to the insanity that makes me wanna scream at the screen.
Alan Wake 2 Thoughts - Last night I rolled credits on Alan Wake II and this morning I share my relatively spoiler free thoughts about the game.
Morning Folks! I hope you had a most excellent weekend. This weekend I decided to take a break from my Path of Exile and Audiobook norms and play through Alan Wake II. Currently, the game is available on consoles or for PC on the Epic Game Store… given that EGS helped publish the game I am questioning if it is ever going to make its way to Steam. I guess some background… while I enjoyed the story…
I recently bought Monster Prom, and feeling inspired by the art I drew Ahti II (the merman in my profile picture) in the style and universe! This is totally fish-related so I can show you all >:DD
I used Oz as a base and heavily referenced some other characters (namely Miranda, Liam and the Interdimensional Prince). Enjoy!
people who love Alan like to call him pathetic and a wet slop but also wanna put him in a blanket, people who love Casey like to call him a bastard but also if he gets hurt even once its the end of life itself, people who love Zane like to call him a crazy pothead but would roll a joint with him, and people who love Ahti like to call him a silly grandpa but also want to do unspeakable things to his retirement home body. Remedy gives a great selection of men for anyone to enjoy.
I love the way Alan Wake II uses norse mythology. I'm a big fan of applying the myths creatively in service of new storytelling and because the devs are Finnish they have a good understanding of the core mythology and blisfully pronounce everything right. I've gotten very tired of hearing the d in Asgård and the nonexistent h i Tor pronounced lol.
