Okay update:

I’m about to start episode 7 and

Alina and Mal are reunited and about to go after the stag. They met up up and talked and they both know stuff now and I think they finally have a good understanding of just how much they mean to each other. The “I’m sorry it took me this long to see you, Alina” conversation has happened it’s all really sweet and now they’re heading North.

Inej Kaz and Jesper are resigned to going home empty handed. They were tracked by General Kirigin and his crew (including Polina, Zoya, Ivan and David. David stayed in the cart). Polina was killed by Inej, while attempting to avenge her brother who Inej also killed. Inej emerged from this encounter alive but wounded. Jesper nearly killed Ivan but I think he ends up just knocking him unconcious? He wasn’t fully intending to kill him bc he kept firing at Ivan’s kefta even tho he knew it was bulletproof and is perfectly capable of shooting him in the head. And then there was a kid so even tho Jes was standing over a constrained Ivan he didn’t shoot him (even calling himself a big softie, which he is) but then I think Ivan was about to but two and two together and proclaim that Jesper is Grisha and Jes can’t have that so he hit in in the face with the butt of his pistol. I’m not sure Ivan’s dead or not. That’s probably not important. Kaz his showdown with the Darkling but it was a tad anticlimactic bc he ends up magician-style proofing away (very in-character, loved that throwback to his sad childhood learning close-up magic. He also did a coin trick earlier for Inej and it made me happy) just as Aleksander was about to Cut him. So I’m glad he made it out alive but wasn’t much of a showdown after all that

The crows commandeered the Grisha’s carriage bc Inej couldn’t ride injured. When Jesper opened the door David was in there just,,, reading and he threw the book at Jesper 😂 and then just let himself be pushed out!!! I love him anyways. They’re gone now.

Also Nina and Matthias (who I’ve barely talked about) have been on the ice for a while now. The scene in the whalers hut where they have to sleep in the same bed to keep warm and Matthias is suuuuper pissy about it happened and then they were walking again and Matthias admitted he likes Nina and then she almost fell through the ice and he saved her and they finally introduced themselves to each other and it was super sweet.

How do you think things would have been different if Luda had immortality like Aleks? Like if any powerful Grisha could live long lives since I don’t see why they couldn’t, especially since she’s a healer. She could slow her aging or heal her body as she goes.

I feel like she would have kept him balanced and not go too far in what he does. She would be the light to his dark. She would be merciful where he could be cruel but it’d be balanced so neither one went to much in one direction.

It would probably help him to have that somebody who could understand him and help him in his goals. Just to have that support system and have someone who he doesn’t have to wear a mask with. He could just be Aleksander not General Kirigin or The Darkling.
