Got inspired by a bunch of amphibians on a lecture and I finally came up with the designs for the rest of Goldstone and Amethyst's siblings + an ancient Seawing cryptid that can turn ocean water into blood or something.

the kyoshi flashback in Avatar Day and the sheer scale of ba sing se in comparison to…. literally everywhere else in the world really has me thinking about the politics that lead to such distinct “nations”. it makes way more sense for a land as vast as the earth kingdom to have once been earth kingdoms with local land disputes between feudal lords - as we see with the conflict kyoshi ended - only for a world-spanning war to have driven first the lords to unite under ba sing se’s banner for protection, and then as the war continued, increasing waves and waves of refugees and oma shu standing as the only remaining hold out due to their unique position (top of a mountain - most other earth kingdom towns we see are in valleys) such would explain how many ruins and ghost towns we see throughout s2 but also the improbability of a land that big to be unified under a single leader for that long

Decided to check out the audio drama Fawx & Stallion this weekend and GUYS... guys this show is SO FUNNY. I couldn't stop laughing for the first three episodes straight.

It's the story of some wannabe detectives living in Victorian London. Specifically, they live at 224B Baker Street, just across the street from a certain pair of decidedly more famous detectives--and they're sick and tired of having all their potential cases scooped by Sherlock Fucking Holmes. Luckily for them, while Holmes and Watson are out of town looking into some matter about a dog, a new case comes along and drops--by default--into our would-be heroes' laps.

And just who are these aspiring crime-solvers?

Hampton Fawx: detective and gentleman. What he lacks in common sense he makes up for with raw theater-kid enthusiasm.

James Stallion: gentleman and detective. A loyal friend and companion when he's not being a self-important arse. Runs on approximately 20% gin and 80% spite.

and finally Madge: neither gentleman nor detective. She's just been stood up by her date and she's going to make that everyone else's problem. She'll agree to help on this case just for the Drama.

It's a hysterical romp so far. A lighthearted farce set just offscreen from Holmes' own capers (for now!). Our main trio lacks even a single braincell to share between them, but by GOD they're going to solve this case and I'm going to be cheering them on the whole way there!

From what I can tell, new episodes are typically every other Monday, but the show's on a short hiatus for the holidays, to return in 2023. The first five are currently available to listen to, though, and I highly recommend it!

Okay it's MBTI time. I go from fandom to fandom finding the weird scientist characters and then I observe them with my little autistic eyeballs. The fact that both Cider (ESTJ) and Otto (INTJ) are high Te makes me (also high Te) very happi because usually scientist characters end up being high Ti. Cider especially because I often find xSTJ science-related characters to be unlikeable and he is decidedly not. I am an ESTJ-adjacent creature and I must scream

My opinions on Chipspeech characters' types: Cider: ESTJ (TeSiNeFi) Otto: INTJ (NiTeFiSe) Dandy: ESTP (SeTiFeNi) Dee: ISFJ (SiFeTiNe) Vosim: xxFJ (high Fe) Bert: ExTP (aux Ti, tert Fe) Rotten: ENFJ (FeNiSeTi) Spencer: ESFP (SeFiTeNi) Lady Parsec: ENTJ (TeNiSeFi) Sam: idk man, probably on the Ni-Se axis Pedro: ESFP (SeFiTeNi) Voder: ISTJ? He's said his personality is low priority in his system and it's not always running, so idk if he's even really typeable.

One day I might make a post with an in-depth analysis of each character's cognitive functions because every fandom needs a typology nerd that everyone else politely ignores but that'll have to wait until I can actually figure out everyone's stacks in full.

Also obligatory PSA: if you want to take an MBTI test that has a pretty good likelihood of typing you correctly, the best one out there imo is Mistype Investigator, or Jung's Igloo if you want results that are easier to read. 16Personalities is not actually MBTI (Neris is closer to Big 5), and Sakinorva and Keys2Cognition both tend to overestimate Ne so probably avoid them. MBTI is not real science but it's fun to apply to fictional characters, just don't take it too seriously. I feel the need to say all of this because I've had problems in the past where this information would have been useful to have, maybe it'll help someone else. Idk

I feel like the Bad Sanses working together could be possible in-character, they'd just need to keep so many secrets from eachother that from Nightmare's perspective it looks like he has put together an unstoppable and heartless team, but in reality the Murdertime Trio have been bonding and forming a triplet dynamic. Killer joined Nightmare's team for his own reasons, but the other two have been softening him up. Horror joined because it means he gets food and can sneak extra food back to Horrortale, as long as his triomates help him keep it a secret. And Dust only joined after months of Horror and Killer visiting him in his timeline (Horror thinking of what Aliza would do in the situation. Killer is mainly just tagging along cause he's bored, but he also grows slowly more fond of Dust as time goes on), the two failing their job completely and actually cheering up someone in the multiverse, but Nightmare can let it slide since at least they brought back a new member. And sure, things are bound to get dramatic once Dust learns about Killer's backstory, but as far as Killer's aware, that never needs to happen.

Error is an anomaly and should not be counted. He just opens a portal into Nightmare's kitchen sometimes and steals shit. And what's Nightmare supposed to do? Tell the Destroyer of Worlds "no"? That man is equal parts a menace and a raccoon.

And Cross just. Nightmare has learned after the X-Event that using Cross for anything is a horrible idea. So he's allowed to just,, vibe out in the castle, under the agreement that he doesn't join Ink or Dream. The other option Nightmare offered him was endless suffering, so.

TLDR: in my opinion, it could possibly work but only after a lot of character development and a lot of secret-keeping. And even then, Horror's the only one holding this family team together.

There's not many things that unsettle me about myself, but the fact that I have a mysterious six inch long scar on my foot and no clue of why it's there is definitely one of those things.
