To say nights were hard was a bit of an understatement for you. Sleep didn’t come easy - not when it was majorly plagued with painful projections and stalking memories, haunting you throughout the night when they couldn’t tear at you through the day.

So, you being up at god-knows-when at night really wasn’t too alarming. You didn’t even mind it that much anymore, it was a bit like a routine. The exhaustion was annoying, and the daily naps were a pain, but it was easier than attempting to face sleep.

Usually. Usually, your waking mind was clearer and safer than your sleeping one. Not tonight.

Tonight? Tonight, the thunder rolling through the air practically sent shockwaves through your room, sending your mind reeling into that fogged, not-quite-here, am-i-there haze, making your chest ache and stomach knot painfully. You wished your mind would surrender you to sleep, even if it was just trading one hell for another.

It wasn’t long before you ended up at Farah’s door like a little lost puppy. It seemed pointless - your hand was heavy with the fear of being a burden and you couldn’t even remember how you’d gotten there. The throbbing weight in your chest seemed to ebb into the air, the thickness slipping from your lungs before you could really get a full breath in.

Farah opening the door almost into your face was actually blessed coincidence, the empty glass in her hand somehow assured your oblivious little mind of just how much of a problem you were to her.

She didn’t even need to see the tears verging on spilling over your cheeks to know.

“Oh, hon, come on, lovely. I can’t have you out here by yourself, can I?”

You only just brought yourself to nod, lower lip wobbling involuntarily. Hands slipped across your back before you could burst into tears, softly guiding your listless form into her room, what little awareness you had left trailing behind. The gentle click of the door shutting only just stood out from the blood rushing through your ears, trying to shield from the growling of the thunder outside.

“Are you.. Are you warm enough, قلبي?” Her words were so motherly it hurt.

“How about I get you something warm to drink, alright? I’ll make your favourite, promise. Then we can snuggle up here and have a movie marathon, or something. How does that sound, love?”

A cosy, toasty drink and snuggles with your favourite girl? It did sound nice.

Farah’s smile widened. You must’ve nodded, or something. You didn’t quite know.

“There. I’m glad you like that idea. Just hold up one second, right?”

And then she plodded off again. Her absence made you hurt primally, fear creeping across your chest and up your throat, latching onto you with an iron grip. No, no, she couldn’t leave, it wasn’t safe, how did you let her go all alone what if-

“Hey, حبيبي, hey, it’s okay. Come here, shh.”

She was back. It felt like some kind of emotional whiplash, your feelings being pulled apart and moulded back together again, moving too quickly for you to really react.

Gentle, familiar hands guided you to sit back down - when had you stood up? - and cradled your cheek in their careful hold. Something slipped up over your ears, and the world went quiet again. Almost disturbingly so, the lack of input, of reassurance to your senses, it was scary.

It was like Farah read your mind as she leaned back in to whisper right next to your ear, just loud enough for you to hear, “It’s alright, sweetheart. Come on, you’re alright. We’re safe right now, we just have to let this storm pass. Literally, for once.”

The relaxed humour brought a weak smile to your face. It didn’t quite reach your eyes, but that was alright. You needed time and reassurance, only one of those had you received a decent amount of.

Her bed creaked as she joined next to you, worn, homely springs groaning with effort. Your hands were enveloped in her touch once again, substantial warmth coating the back of your hand, branching out over your palm and peeking up your wrist.

Farah didn’t hesitate to ease you down against the headboard, tucking a hand down against the small of your back as she fumbled for something she’d placed on the bedside table.

“Do you want that drink, love? I made your favourite. Same way as usual, don’t worry.” The mug was held by your hand, supporting it as you took it in your shaking ones. Her lips puckered softly as she puffed over the hot liquid, a little plume of steam flowing up to your face, the warm flash dragging your mind back somewhat. You idly noticed the seeds of a headache taking root against your temple.

“Careful, غالي, it’s hot.” It took a few moments to drag your eyes up and take her in, but you got there in the end. “Oh, hello, sweetheart. Popped back in, have we?” The light bags tugging at her under eye were engulfed by the soft plush of her cheeks as she smiled. To say she looked relieved was a bit of an understatement. One of her hands slipped from the mug, ensuring it was stable before coming up to give your cheek a little squeeze, thumbing gently at your cheekbone.

At your slow nod, her smile widened even further, gratitude pouring into her gaze. The mug was, once again, eased from your grasp at your seeming disinterest. It was probably going cold, but she didn’t particularly care.

“How do you feel about taking a nap, lovely? Just you and me. We can put on a movie too, like a little cosy movie night - does that sound nice?”

“Yeah..” Your words were almost too shaky to be intelligible, but seeing Farah’s warm glow at the attempt made it worth it.

Hands roamed gently under your thighs, easing you down into her shockingly comfy covers - ‘commander’s privileges’ - and proceeding to tuck you in, fussing over you all the while. It was a win/win, really, she got to look after and fuss over you, and you got a little bit of well-deserved spoiling.

After you were sufficiently smothered, Farah pulled herself up off the bed, calling out a soft ‘one sec’ before jogging out of the room. It was quiet. That wasn’t that bad anymore, though. She’d be back, soon.

Your mind barely wandered in the time it took for her to swipe the laptop off of the coffee table and speed back. She knew better than to leave you alone with your thoughts right now, though your semi-calmness when she got back was reassuring.

“Here we are..” Farah murmured idly, clambering up next to you, placing the laptop on the bedside table by your head. You were softly eased onto your side and pulled to a firm, pillowy chest. One arm was laid out under your shoulder, simultaneously supporting you and reaching out to the laptop, opening up her downloads and mindlessly scrolling through her library of movies. Her other arm was laid over your side, kneading at your tummy before moving slowly up to your chest.

The next few minutes were spent with Farah idly chatting into your ear, bouncing movie ideas off of you as she internally preened at each and every response you gave. Together, you decided on a movie, and cuddled into each other’s safe warmth as the opening credits rolled.

By the halfway mark, you were fast asleep. By the end, Farah was too.

how are u like…godsent with writing??? its like u were..blessed with the power of words and everything u release needs to be framed next to mona lisa. chef!jae concept is not easy but the way u exceeded my expectations and wrote the story so sentimentally?3!2?3?3?? i nearly cried it was so bad for me.

the masterchef arc was also so dear to me bc it was one of my fav shows and its so iconic. also jaehyun remembering yn and seeing her in a different light from what she was used to?? the realization and explanation was so cute. i love how u seamlessly blend portions of the story be it humorous or emotional together so well that the reader doesnt even realize the change of genre until their snot is falling on their phone as they try to read the next line of jaehyun having heart eyes pt 8383838933

my heart started beating really fast before i could read the feedback JKSHKFJSHDF but let's get into it!

ahhh idk how to react, thank you :') chef!jae was definitely not easy. i started writing five plus one a couple of months ago and it was easy to write the first half but the remaining half of the fic was so hard 😭 it's hard to write the transition of two enemies turning into each other's love interests, which is why it took so long to finish skdjhf. but also, i literally had to watch (and rewatch, over and over again) A LOT of MasterChef videos because although i do know how to cook and i cook meals for myself, it's so hard to actually describe it in actual... words? idk if that made sense skjdfkjsdhf

I HONESTLY LOVE COOKING SHOWS. i went through a whole kitchen nightmares binge -- but i remember trying to look for a chef!jae fic to read here and there were a few but they were mostly short or drabbles AND I FIGURED if there wasn't a long fic about chef!jae, i might as well write it myself 😭 and so here we are LOL

Ok, but Suki writing songs and learning to play instruments (cs she is canonly in love with music and it is wholesome🥺🥺🥺) Sokka writing poetry and drawing 🥺

And then they write a(or more) song(s) about and for Yue and have come up with a dance they do when it's a full moon. They would dance around with war fans to the movements of the ocean and sing up to the moon. Every full moon. (Suki was Yue's secret lover!, but because of the nwt traditions and stuff they couldn't stay together :c idc if they met in canon or not)

Yueki fuels me with so much love and happiness, i fell in love with them bc of @fruitysokka 's Unconditionally and Irrevocably fic that i highly recommend you read if you enjoy Zukka and Yueki!

But Suki learning instruments and writing music? Thats the best thing ive heard all night! I mean, I can just see her picking up on that kind of thing really easily. Learning as many instruments as possible. I feel like, because of the nature of atla, she learned all of it by ear and not really at all by the written sheet music which makes her really good at transferring knowledge of one intrument to the next. I feel like writing music comes easily to her as well, not being restricted by pen and paper and just being able to play something until it sounds just right. I can just see her chilling around a fire with the rest of the gaang while she just sings soft songs for them and plays whatever comes to mind. (Also could you imagine her just singing quiet lullabies to Yue whenever she has bad dreams at night? Brushing hair away from her face, leaving soft little kisses on her temples, soothing the lines from between her eyebrows. Soft Yueki being able to just love each other under the cover of twilight? Ugh i wanna be able to love someome like that.)

Sokka writing poetry is literally one of my favorite things oh my gooood!!! I used to write a lot of poetry (oof its all pretty bad looking back on it) and honestly, i feel like Sokka has such a way with words. I love the hc that he gets stage fright/anxiety when talking to huge groups so i love the idea of him being so eloquent in his writing when he cant be in speech. I know Sokka gets made fun of for his drawings a bit but artist Sokka also fuels my heart and love for atla. Drawing and painting is hard and it takes a lot of practice! Art is art and no art is bad art. I feel like the more Sokka really gets into his art, the better he becomes and the more he gets to express himself and his feelings. (Also, sorry im super tired bc i should be sleeping rn and im not so i might ramble a lot but tattoo artist Sokka literally never leaves my mind). So hell yeah artist/poet Sokka is 100% a thing because i said so!

But i can just see what you're talking about, I can feel the emotions that would come along with that. Building a huge bonfire on a beach somewhere, doing it all by hand without the help of any benders. Getting dressed in a mix of nwt/swt colors and Kyoshi gear, in ceremonial outfits they made just for their full moon rituals. I can hear the way they would start soft and slow, their movements gentle, almost as if in mourning the loss of someone so dear to them. I can hear how the song would crescendo gradually throughout the night, their voices carrying high into the night air as they celebrate the love and life that Yue had within her. The smell of the smoke, the sound of the song, the feel of shifting sand beneath their feet as they twist and twirl and dance around, the taste of the sea salt in the wind, and just that pure soft image of Yue looking down from the spirit world and feeling nothing less than an overflowing abundance of love in her heart.

I feel like for the first few full moons, Suki and Sokka do this by themselves. But after a while, i feel like the others slowly join in. Katara comes when the tide is too high and she parts the ocean around them long enough for them to complete their ritual. Aang joins in and learn their dance. Hes the one who suggests adding in the fans and he has special fans made just for their tradition. Toph joins and creates a special rock formation, a stage almost, right on the beach for them to build their bonfire on, tide in or out. She also brings a drum and provides a quiet beat for them to dance to. Zuko joins and adds his own song into the mix. While he dances, he signs and sings and mourns a girl he never knew because he knows what its like to be used as a pawn in a war. And Yue, though they cant see her, comes and joins their dance around the fire. And each full moon, before they pack everything up, she brushes gentle kisses on each of their foreheads and blesses them. Every single time. Its not long before they know shes there, somehow, watching over them too. (Maybe one day, Azula joins them too, joins in the dancing and mourning and celebration because she gets it. Redemption arc Azula is something i desparately want and love)

This got really long! Im sure this is not what you meant when you asked for my thoughts lmao so im sorry for that. Thank you anon for sending me this! I am literally not going to stop thinking about this for the next forever! This is just such a gorgeous idea, i love it.

I ALMOST FORGOT ur latest work ab hq boys’ love tropes are super lovely & refreshing <3 ive reread it a couple times — it helped me stay sane during my critical days — so thank u btw 😩 as much as enemies to lovers tropes are always thrilling and exciting, my fave would remain the friends to lovers one bc the love subtlety is just uh beautiful. i always imagine this kind of trope grows such delicate and slow-burning feelings/emotions between two ppl — how slowly but surely both ur hard ass defensive walls start to crumble and fall together in such security and tranquility that have been developed through times (ok disclaimer im not trying to sound poetic or stuff i just feel like those words are the closest to describe how i feel ab it and its understandable if u find it confusing lol 😪) . and thats also why i used to like hajime so much bc the trope suits him v well — i mean i still do love that man but uh matsukawa issei came to my life and i think mattsun also suits the friends to lovers trope just as well plus compared to iwa, my personalities and mattsun’s simply complement each other better. but beside that, i adore the soft only for their lover one too esp featuring my love, miya osamu 🥺🤚🏻 i dont quite understand myself on why softie samu hits different to me than other softie hq characters and it also has been one of my fave fic to read <33 im looking forward to the part 2 🤩‼️

last thing, i wanna share my mini brainrot (hope u dont mind 😙) -> bc im currently on my period i kept thinking ab mattsun, whos a bad cook (to be fair, he barely attempts in making a decent one since ur the one whos in charge for food) — except for making u ur fave soup. he kept on trying to master that specific soup that helps to warm up ur tummy bc he thinks its the least thing he could do to make u feel better during ur period. sometimes when ur period cramps are really bad he would pull you on his lap and your head rest on his shoulder while he quietly blowing on the soup in the spoon before taking it into your mouth. he would tease u once in a while tho — i mean it isnt mattsun without his initial teasings but this time the teasings are followed by forehead kisses and he would keep asking u if ur feeling better UGH *sobbing* *falling in love over and over again*

When you meet him in the living room he’s already at the speakers and scrolling through his phone to find a song

You’re both getting in position to slow dance and you’re just like

“This is the cheesiest you have ever been today,,,, are you sick?”

The familiar first guitar strings of “Photograph” start playing and he softly smiles at you

You’re both looking at each other so fondly and you barely notice how he lifts you back up bc you’re both leaning in

One arm is holding your waist up, and the other is caressing your cheek as your lips meet

His soft kiss has you weak in the knees despite how you should be used to them by now but he always takes away your breath every time

You break away, your foreheads touching

LMAO OHMY GOD hahahaha xD Well - if you read the parts when they have sex, there are instances when Jungkook is having sex with the reader when he isn’t wearing a condom. For instance, the morning after the first time they have sex. The reader is on top and he hasn’t got a condom on. Yes - he doesn’t “finish” inside her, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t get pregnant ^^ And also, just because you’re using a condom, doesn’t mean you can’t get pregnant! heh, I think that’s a matter of subjectivity my darling. There are points in which I believe this story is calm and tranquil depending on the situation - take the moment in the restaurant for example, or various soft/romantic moments that the reader is subjected to. Of course, it is a Vampire fiction, so the element of thrill would naturally be quite high :D

The whole thing about Knetz and wonho's "scandalous" past reminded me of something. As a PSA to those people who are so insistent and pushy that idols aren't allowed to have sex/date/be anything but straight: Fuck all of you. You do not own these people, and if you really cared about them you'd be happy if they were happy.
