inquiring minds want to know... where are u watching mzds
my propaganda is WORKING....
the live action drama is called The Untamed, and you can find it on Netflix but also free on YouTube! I'm sure there are other places to watch it, but those are the two that were easiest for me to access
fair warning: the first two episodes are. rather confusing. they kinda just throw you in the deep end. however, if your experience is anything like mine, it really picks up by episode three, which is the point at which this show gripped me by the brain stem and then didn't let go. if you need any help understanding the first couple episodes/the timeline/all the names of the characters, do not hesitate to hit me up!
#asks#puzzlehat#100% serious about offering help if anything is confusing#my friend julianna made me a name guide when I started it and it was SO helpful#because everyone has two and often three names#and the timeline is strange before you get used to it#but once you get settled into the setting it's SO GOOD#GOD I HOPE YOU LIKE IT#even if you don't need help clarifying things PLEASE dm me or send me asks or something#I love hearing people's thoughts as they get into something I like#and as soon as I finished this show I was like ''I need to get someone else into this NOW i need to see their reactions!!''#also it's based off of books (I'm currently like halfway through the first one)#and there's an animated series and a comic and audio dramas#I haven't watched any of those#but I feel like the live action drama is a good place to start#because it spends a lot more time in the flashback#while the books spend more time post-flashback#so the drama feels like it gives you more context for like. who these characters are. what happened to them. how did we get here#you get to watch the tragedy unfold#and then the books are like. what if the tragic hero got brought back from the dead and got involved in a supernatural mystery romcom#and personally I feel like it's more fun and satisfying to get the context and tragedy first#and then get the Everything Else later#the show ALSO covers the post-flashback stuff#but the two mediums dedicate different amounts of time to it if that makes sense#I'm rambling. I'm very excited by this ask

One inconvenient side effect of my state of being somewhat allergic to most fan-translated light novels (for "the prose tends to be Deeply Awkward, probably because all the translators who reach the level of doing Actual Good Prose get scooped up by the official translation-licensing companies?" reasons) is that it makes it difficult and vaguely nerve-wracking to interact with the Monogatari fandom.
Because, like... there are two whole seasons of the series which exist only in fan-translation, not in official translation! And the fandom has, very reasonably, gone and, like, read the books comprising those seasons. But I haven't, and don't expect that to change for a pretty long time! And thus, despite being a big fan of the series, I can't really safely interact with the fandom, for fear of spoilers.
Eventually, this will be fixed one way or another, either by the remaining novels getting official translations (...after the manga translations finish? I hope? Although my hope is somewhat weaker than it would have been a few years ago, given the context where the Zaregoto and Pretty Boy Detective Club translations both seem to have stopped too despite not involving the same translators) or by my learning enough Japanese to read the remaining books in the original or by my figuring out some way to increase my tolerance for light novel fan-translations.
Hopefully one of these will happen before I run into Major Spoilers, rather than only after.

MOTORCITY SEASON 2 MASTERPOST
once upon a time, over 10 years ago, just a few months after the announcement that Motorcity was officially canceled...the creators of the show took pity on their heartbroken fandom and gave us several glimpses of what season 2 might have been like. they saw how much we loved Motorcity and gave us every scrap of info they could at the time, so that we could use those scraps to imagine our own personal "Season 2" - whether it continue on in our fics, our fanart, or simply our own heads.
I'm making this masterpost so that none of this material will be lost or forgotten, and so any fanartists/fic writers still hanging around today can use it for inspiration. if there's any related material I've missed, PLEASE feel free to add it in a reblog or let me know in my inbox! I want this list to be as complete as we can make it! :)

Capri Chilton - Mike Chilton's long lost big sister! I can't remember where or when it was first revealed that they were considering giving Mike a secret older sister, and I haven't been able to track down the origin. that being said, when it was revealed, the fandom loved the idea so much that they begged the creators to make it canon. Chris P busted out the "magical canon stick", gave us this delightful concept sketch, and "Capri Chilton" was born!

The Motorcity Series Bible "To help you all understand what it is you are reading, this is the material that Titmouse used to help pitch Motorcity, and it was also a tool for writers to use when coming up with episodes to help understand who the characters were before there was any other reference. That being said, this was one of the very first documents about Motorcity, so many things have changed or evolved from these early concepts." (x)

Is now the WORST time to start a hypno themed content channel? (Yes, but do it anyway!)
So this is going to be a wild ride into hypnosis content creation, inspired a lot by my recent return to making it and how things have shifted over the years. This is in no way trying to deter people from making content, quite the opposite, I want to inspire others to take this as a sign to go for it if you've been thinking about it.
So WTF is going on online?
Welcome to YouTube a platform where anyone with some good ideas can start their own hypnosis channel. A place where you can be a spiral with text, an asmr creator moonlighting as a hypnotist, full cam video or an anime girl with a passion for mind breaking. It's actually wild how things have evolved and I love the shift in the medium. Back in the early days of hypnosis YouTube it really was the wild west, and a lot was able to slip by the community guidelines without a blink of an eye, and I should know, I really did push my luck with some of my own videos. YouTube isn't the only platform in this situation now where you can do hypnosis. You have here on tumblr, twitter (or x, make up your mind Elon), patreon, soundgasm, hypnohub, devient art, twitch. Name a platform or site and odds are someone is doing hypnosis there. This is great because it means the community is growing and the potential reach is expanding but it also means that working as a hypnosis creator is now harder than ever.
Back in 2017 I started a YouTube channel which I had no clue would as of today lead me to 95k subscribers and my entire income being funded through patreon. But if you look at my content from then to now there had to be some massive leaps to keep my name and my work in peoples attention span. Most content creators don't last years, I know I am an outlier and not a norm. This is due to the fact that over time tastes change, the algorithm changes to reflect this audience shift and what you did back then is just not good enough comapred to now. I had to be drastic to weather the storms of mental health, physical health, audience rention and analytics galore, branding shifts, shifts in community. It's all a lot to deal with but if you want to do this in any format you have to be ready to put yourself through it to be a success and even then I look at my work now and I don't think it's truly successful, yet.
I haven't made it and I don't think I ever will because that "made it" feeling, the top of the hill, is such a subjective metric that's hard to describe. Back in 2017 if you'd asked me, "Secret, when will you know that you are a great creator?" and I would have told you, "100k on YouTube, I want my silver play button." I still do want it, but not like I did before. Before it was clout to be quite honest. 100k means you are powerful enough to do what you want to do, to be able to reach brands, to make friends and collab with the bigger channels, to have people look at you and take you seriously as a creator. But none of that matters now. Subscribers are less important than ever. What matters now is attention. Retention. Clicks, engagement and views.
Now back in 2020 I was really rude. I made a video called Seduced into Obedience that blew up my channel. It got half a million views before YouTube made me take it down earlier this year. It's an achievement I could never expect to relive and it was all based on cheating the system. See I knew that back in "the day" people loved doing those audios on YouTube where you would "comment I am a good slave" in the comments. Knowing what I know about YouTube I decided to run a little test, an experiment on my channel. A risk that I thought just might pay off and if not, oh well, worth a try. I made an audio with the aim of making people like it, and comment in the comments. In the same style of those before me, I took a concept that was not often seen and honestly a little stupid, I made it and the worst part is, it worked. It got me seen by huge content creators in the mainstream who memed on me for it. It skyrocketted in views and kept going. It was my first video to hit 100k on YouTube and it is a moment that will never happen again. It was age restricted which killed the growth but the channel kept going and it wasn't a viral hit, but it was a dark horse that built my reputation on YouTube and then I went and changed everything.
Why change if it was going so well?
So one thing about the internet is you have to follow the success where it takes you. I could have made several more Seduced audios for YouTube and in fact I did do that for a little while but, tastes change. I changed. I stopped doing what I was doing and started being a vtuber, a faceless creator and I got into ASMR. At the time ASMR roleplaying was massive so this was a strategy I wanted to try, mix my love of acting and fantasy with my love of hypnosis see what happens. It worked pretty well as those videos also started doing pretty good and now I have a bunch of videos over 100K on YouTube. But this also trapped me in a box. Now I have had time to have a break and come back I noticed, YouTube especially is really hard on ASMR creators. It's hard on hypnosis creators. It's hard on creators because the platform is loaded with content. You have to be unique to stand out. You have to play to your audience. You have to gain people's attention through interest and ideas that are still fresh but not too specific to turn away the people who watch you. It's a battle to keep it going and it's one I have made many, many mistakes in. You have to give your audience the most, but not too much. You have to be avaible to people in the comments, but not too much. It's a fine balancing act and one that will drive you insane if you don't have a great support system.
So why am I sharing this with you?
I'm at a stage in my career as a creator where I am fearless to try new stuff. I am trying not to care about my reputation as a domme or as a person (more on that in a later essay, I'm sure). I'm trying to lead with my creative spirit and not be upset when a video doesn't "hit" or "pop off". I'm not going to leave a livestream anymore and cry because no one came to see me do a thing. I'm splitting my time between making music, gaming and creating fun things for me and making hypnosis and asmr roleplays for the people who want it and not being sad if my song doesn't go viral right away. Because recently after a death in my family, a health scare that nearly ended my career and the loss of a huge opportunity that turned out not to work for me, I have learned that life is too short not to make the fun things I want.
I want to share with content creators that doing this fulltime is scary and it is hard. It is tough to see posts do nothing. It's scary to see that platforms want to ban hypnokink. It's rough to have other creators disown you for being the wrong kind of degen. But if this is your passion and your dream to make this work, you can do it.
How do you get noticed in this challenging environment?
Lead with passion and your own point of view.
I'm not kidding here, it's the best and worst advice I can give you. Too different and you alienate people, not different enough and you aren't memorable. But you have to lead with passion. Passion carries through the screen. People can hear it in your voice, see it in your work. But outside of that, here are some other things you might want to think about if you are going to commit to making content of any kind:
Who is your target audience? If you say yourself, great! What do you like? What do you want? What are you goals with interacting with content? Follow that.
What is your brand (and can you say it in a single sentence) I'm literally not kidding. If you can't describe what you do in one sentence your branding needs work. Eg, hi I'm Secret and I'm a hypnotic nyanpire from New Zealand.
If someone was to see you on the internet, what should they remember? The other day I got a great comment on a piece of art I commed, "I saw this and I immediatly thought of Secret Subject, and then I looked and saw it was posted by her", your branding should be that strong because people see thousands of posts a day. What makes you different? For me, it's purple. It's goth mommy. It's cats and bats. Find your vibe and own it. Do not be afraid to double down and make your entire thing about it. Everytime I get art made, I make it about my character and it must have purple hair because that keeps the brand strong in someone's mind.
What is your purpose? For me without a goal of "this is why I make the content I do" I would be lost and unmotivated. Find your why and write it down, put a post-it on the wall. Tell a friend. Whatever you need to remind you, this is why I do what I do. When times are hard or you run out of steam/ideas go back to this and really hone into what it is you want to say.
Own your mistakes and bad days. We all have them. That thing didn't do well. That video wasn't great. There was a mistake in this thing or I accidentally made a tweet that went viral for all the wrong reasons. It happens. Be honest with yourself but exercise kindness. Own your mistakes and show people you are human even if you play as an anime vampire catgirl online.
Make connections for the right reasons. As an ex-vtuber I can tell you it's hard when people use you or befriend you "for something". It's okay to build business connections and make this all about business but be honest with people, it does go a long way. Have respect for people who are fellow creators and if you seriously are looking for "friends" that's fine but also know that being friends and colleagues in content are not the same and the lines get very blurry at times.
Be persistant instead of consistent. You've probably been told "constancy is key" a bunch here, hell, you may have heard it from me. I used to teach this as part of my content class at cons but it's not as important as just sticking with it. We are not robots. We can't just all schedule tweets to go out perfectly timed and are all amazingly funny all the time. You need time to come up with quality so take it, but do not give up. If you give up and throw in the towel often you won't make it. Especially on social media. Taking a break or hiatus is fine, I just had one myself, but if you everytime it gets too hard say "I'm done" and then come back on a cycle you are just hurting yourself.
Perfection is a creativity killer. Just post that thing. Sometimes just posting that thing will lead to a new classic for the community.
Time to make your mark
I'm still grinding, we all are still out here making it happen in our own ways. I am so excited to watch the next gen of hypnosis creators florish and thrive. I am a huge simp for my friends who take on this challege because they all work so hard and have so much passion for this weird niche kink we all have. I am in awe of people who feel the fear of this journey and keep doing it. I'm in awe of people who started before me and are still here doing it, because it is not easy and I am over pretending it is.
We need diversity in content and especially in hypnosis kink. I am a person from New Zealand, a small country where a lot of us tend not to make a big splash in the world. People like me don't get the kind of platform I am lucky and insanely grateful to have. I encourage you to take your point of view as a kinkster, and make your mark on the world too. Play safe, care about your content and do good. Remember that you don't need thousands of dedicated fans to be popular and you can be someones favorite regardless of how "seen" your work is.

The eulogy went well. Got a lot of compliments.
Though only two of the jokes landed and I spent like 5 minutes talking about how funny I was, so that was a little awkward.
I haven't written jokes that weren't meant to be read in over 20 years. The written word is a completely different animal than verbal humor and I am rusty as hell. My last stand up performance was before I turned 21. So... yeah, it's been a while since I had to connect with a live crowd. Also, verbal jokes usually require testing and polishing before they get locked in.
Not trying to make excuses. Just saying that making people laugh with first draft material is tricky.
The heartfelt portions of the speech were much more important and people really responded to that, so it was a success overall.
In any case, I did record everything so I'll post it after I combine the audio and video.

What to do if Durarara over
I'm going to assume you've finished the anime and have not gone into anything else Naritaverse wise
So! You can read the novels. Since they're officially licensed by yen press, you can buy the soft cover books or get them as an ebook / kindle from barnes and noble or amazon. I don't really endorse this but I'm sure if you do enough digging around you can find old, still available, free translations like anni_fiesta who did a lot of translating back in the day. Here's the link to their Index of Translation. I still use it since it's the only place I know that has the white day story translated and it's one of my favorites (For Kadota Related reasons haha), plus a couple of other side stories.
(I think the internet archives have the novels if you do some poking around but for Narita Please Write SH 5 reasons, I'll ask you to dig those up lmao)
Speaking of Side stories, Kazinha-726 translated a bunch of drrr side stories But since they haven't updated in a while, you need to change the links from kaedesan721 to their new URL kazinha-726. I'll directly link what you need here
Izaya Spin Off Translations I don't think these are officially licensed for translation so it's fine for me to link. This is the story of Izaya now that he's been forced out of Ikebukuro, and there's two books as of writing this.
Durarara Gaidens It's some gaidens, but It's also a handful of translated convos from 3 way stand of alley relay, the links use that kaedesan721 link, so while I won't be fixing all those links for you, I can at least link the tag for all of them here. you can probably find audio for this game on youtube, though I'm not sure anyone's like.... fully translated? perhaps? Which ALSO reminds me of the relay manga
Durarara Epitome of Eighteen Histories Written along side the release of season 2, we've got some stories involving Kazane Kinomiya, who's the half sister of Shinra, and a reporter. They have all 18 listed there nicely EXCEPT the Erika and Walker Link is a little messed up, and if you search through the posts you can get to it but anyway here's the link to that story specifically
DRRR x Hakata Tonkatsu Ramens Actually I haven't seen HTR or read it so I can't really tell you about this one but if you're into that series--
There's ALSO MiniDura which are little gag comics of the durarara cast in chibis! there should be 4 books as of me writing this. Godspeed on finding translations they seem to be around.... but this post is long and I'm scared of losing it so I'll update later on how many chapters there are so you don't miss any, though I'm seeing up to 10 in my cursory search.
Shizuo, Izaya, and Celty are also in uh.... Dengeki Bunko's fighting Climax, which you might be able to find some stuff on on youtube. but since it's Dengeki Bunko you also have other series... I can only remember A Certain Magical Index / A Certain Scientific Railgun / the other titles in this series as being part of it whoops.
So you've done all that, what do you do next?
Well Narita has other series, like Baccano! which had an anime before DRRR did, which is 16 episodes. Since Funimation lost the license back in like... 2012 it's not officially uh licensed for viewing anywhere, so uh. wink wink. message me if you need more help here.
There's ALSO the novels which... there are so many more than there are for drrr, also available to purchase, though these are hardcovers! Last time I checked they had.... around 20 translated? Since I'm more drrr side I'd have to ask about fan translations and if I can still find them around. But again I don't really condone it since we want more written you know?
Narita also has a couple other series, but the one that's my favorite besides DRRR is Etsusa Bridge (It's pronounced Essa Bridge don't make the same mistake I did. )
And i NEED more people to read that one please please please please
Unfortunately, the person who did the fan translation closed their Blogspot to the public so uh. the first 4 books, and really what is the main story, is available on the internet archive here
Though I'm saying thank you to baka-tsuki for my life by having a page of links here, which includes the 5th book, 5656 part two (NARITA..... I NEED 5656 PART 2 PLEASE...... PLEASE)
and Vamp on the internet archive here and baka-tsuki here
I also know about Hariyama-san but i don't actually know... if anyone translated that one..... Narita has also written for Bleach and Fate Strange/ Fake if you're into those. Straight up just linking this wiki page in case you have any interest in other stuff he's written
And finally! Currently, Dead Mount Death Play (often shortened to DMDP) is a manga written (or co written?) by Narita! which is currently getting an anime and all of his attention.
All that being said I've been really into Trigun lately lmao
Anyone else feel free to add on or tell me what I may be missing

David Tennant's Obscure Performances: Sweetnightgoodheart and its time traveling release date(s)
Heya all you David Tennant fans! I'm back with a small thread about a 2001 short film which David starred in called Sweetnightgoodheart (hereafter called SNGH).
Tumblr media
SNGH was 9:16 in length. It was written and directed by Dan Zeff and produced by Litmus Productions in association with Bliss.com films for BBC Films. Its original title was Sweetnight Goodheart (with the two words separated) but somewhere along the way, the words were connected.
More about the title, this time from the BFI: "This entertaining short film takes a lighthearted look at the anxiety of modern relationships. The mix up of the title - a play on the familiar WWII song 'Goodnight Sweetheart' - highlights the confusion and miscommunication that is the film's premise."
Tumblr media
Now, although I just said it was released in 2001.....if you look at the IMDb entry above very closely, I'm sure you've noticed it says 2005.
This, my friends, is wrong. And I'm about to prove it.
According to the British Film Institute, SNGH was one of the short films which made its premiere in August of 2001 at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. It was a nominee for Short Films. It also screened at the 45th Regus London Film Festival as part of their Urbania Shorts slot in November of 2001, and was a nominee for Short Cuts & Animation.
Tumblr media
Sooooo.....unless David and everyone involved with the project are all time travelers and they somehow filmed the short in 2005 but took it back to 2001 to show at the festivals?....well, you get the picture.
After SNGH's premiere at the two festivals, it was sold to HBO and Cinemax. It was broadcast in the USA (and yes, you read that right!) on Cinemax beginning in August of 2002. It was shown every couple of months or so until July of 2004. It was first aired on HBO beginning in March of 2003 and was broadcast intermittently until June of 2004. Judging by the broadcast listings, it appears both networks used it as short "filler" material in between their full-length movie offerings. And after those two stopped airing it, PBS in the USA then aired it as part of its Imagemakers series in September of 2005. Here are some newspaper blurbs (with the newpaper titles and dates above them) to prove these broadcasts occurred:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Further proof? On Valentine's Day of 2009, the BFI screened SNGH with its other main features. That screening's entry for the short also says it was released in 2001.
Tumblr media
I wanted to find out why IMDb would say 2005, so I poked around a bit. Oddly, its release date information specifies "Hungary" (okaaay?), while sources elsewhere have the 2005 date noted as the date of its "world premiere". The Hungary release date might well be accurate, but I'm not sure exactly what world premiere means...besides, it's obviously an error (since we've already shown it aired in the US in 2002 through 2004). So I think we can safely cross out 2005, don't you?
But ohhhh, we're not yet done on the dates, because some sources also give a release date of 2003! This date, however, is much easier to explain. The 2003 date originates from its initial broadcast on BBC2. It aired as a part of a 50-minute program called Ways To Leave Your Lover (hereafter called WTLYL) at 11:20 pm on 25 March 2003. WTLYL featured five 10-minute short films with a common thread - the end of love. in addition to SNGH, the other four films were Stag, Dog, Unscrew, and Dumping Elaine.
So...now that we've taken care of the date mix-up, let's get into the short itself!
SNGH starred David as Pete, and Kate Ashfield - who he would also go on to star with in a 2002 audio drama called The Island and in 2005's Secret Smile - as Juliet. It also starred Diana Hardcastle as Anthea, Cliff Parisi as Colman, and Thusitha Jayasundera as Yasmin. Here is the archived BBC press release for WTLYL before it was aired.
And the plot? Well, if you haven't yet seen SNGH here's a great plot synopsis which might intrigue you enough to chase it down. It's from the 23 March 2003 edition of the Sunday Times: "Dan Zeff's cautionary tale Sweetnightgoodheart observes [how] David Tennant's attempts to ditch his girlfriend (Kate Ashfield) spiral out of control." And from the
Here are also a couple of photos!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And while we're at it, here are a number of short summaries - and one longer article from the Evening Standard which includes a photo! - which appeared in various newspapers when WTLYL aired in 2003:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
During my research into the origins of SNGH, I've seen the BBC series it featured in variably titled as Ways To Leave Your Lover, and Eight Ways To Leave Your Lover. This discrepancy appears both in print and on the CVs of various actors and crew involved with the project (here's an example). While not confirmed, my belief is Eight Ways to Leave Your Lover was a working title. Five films aired on the program, but I've found an additional two which didn't (which makes me think there was a third whose title I have not been able to ascertain). I believe that at some point in the process, a decision was made to remove three of the films originally scheduled to air, and the name was changed accordingly.
in addition to SNGH, the other four films aired during WTLYL were Stag, Dog, Unscrew, and Dumping Elaine. I didn't find places to watch most of them, but you can see Dog and Dumping Elaine at the links I've provided. Here's what I know about them:
---
Stag - written by Ian Iqbal Rashid and starring Stuart Laing and Nitin Ganatra: a bridegroom wakes up on the morning of his wedding in bed with the best man.
Dog - written by Andrea Arnold and starring Joanne Hill, Freddie Cunliffe and Veronica Valentine: a fifteen year-old girl finds the will to stand up for herself when she witnesses a disturbing and violent incident.
Unscrew - written by Clara Glynn and starring Douglas Henshall and Emma Fielding: a surreal short about a guy whose girlfriend unscrews his penis and takes it with her when they begin separating their belongings after their breakup.
Dumping Elaine - written by Peter Lydon and starring Susan Lynch, Matthew Delamere and Dido Miles: waitresses play Cupid.

SNGH is archived at the BFI on VHS and Beta, and in two master forms (16mm/35mm). You can see it there, but I'll save you a trip: while a 4.35G digital copy was made off the master, there's no access to it. The viewing copy MP4 is only 305MB.
If you've read this far, you're probably wondering how you can see it. There are plenty of ways! If you are a registered BFI Screenonline user - and registration is free for users in UK libraries, colleges and universities - you can watch it here (and perhaps download it, though I'm given to understand it's only available for download during certain times). It's also floating around the webs in various forms and qualities on Vimeo, Dailymotion, FilmNow, etc. All of these aren't the greatest of quality, but it's the best we've got. Ah, for a better quality video file taken off the master copy!
But I'd recommend watching it at Dan Zeff's own website.
And that's it for Sweetnightgoodheart. I hope you've enjoyed reading about it as much as I have writing and researching it!

All Clara-era scripts now online at BBC Writers Room
It's possible it's been this way for a while, but the BBC Writers' Room website has done a massive upload of Doctor Who scripts to its Script Library in PDF format.
Basically, every script for every episode produced since 2005 is now online, as well as complete scripts for Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures, Class, and some other spin-off works like the animated episodes. Even the BBC Radio produced Torchwood audio dramas (which predated Big Finish getting the TW licence) that were made to promote I think Children of Earth (which is included too for Capaldi completists). More than 200 in total.
Of course this also includes all the Series 7, 8 and 9 episodes featuring Clara, including some alternate shooting and "picture lock" scripts.
A number of these have been online for a while, but a number haven't been previously. And it's interesting to see what's in these scripts. As noted by another poster, the infamous "I love you" is not in the script for Mummy on the Orient Express, but in the script for Before the Flood Clara's plea "If you love me in any way you'll come back" IS (though the "I don't want to think about that" part does explicitly reference Danny in a sentence that was removed when the scene was shot).
I also note with interest that the Doctor Who scripts are divided into two sections: one covering 2005-2022 and the other covering 2023 onwards, adding credence to the reports that the BBC are treating the current iteration as a restart, not a continuation per se.
Anyway, head to the Script Library and start digging!
CORRECTION: Not all the nuWho era scripts are up. Only a couple of scripts from Series 1 (Eccleston) have been posted as yet.

We technically haven't hit the follower goal sadly but im getting closer and closer to finishing the animation finally so have a little treat :)
(fair warning i think the audio on the clip is on pretty loud so be wary of that aha)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A small wip clip (not the one promised tho but well we never hit the goal so i think thats fair) and some frame bits i like from a recently completed part in the animation :)
For anyone who may not know, this is for a qsmp animation about qCellbit's regret arc that i started literally when he got kidnapped LMAO. This project has been in the works for AGES due to procrastination / not being in the mood to work on it or just simply being too busy to, but after about 6-8 months, the finish line for this work is within sight. >:)
Let's hope the animator mood stays with me for the next few days so i can wrap this up and not delay further due to no motivation to work for a bit sjhdjdjsbdjjdkd
Yeah i guess this is technically a sneak peek too /shrug
Although this snippet is still wip and half of it is storyboard so... yeah
But this section is the last big animated part in the animation before the outro so we are VERY close to the end !!
(And then ill prob do a jrwi or an oc animation or smthn next idk ill figure it out when i get to it, havent been as hyperfixated on qsmp lately i just have an insane motivation to finish this project after all the work ive put into it and how cool it looks lol)

Have you ever thought about what characters’ voices would sound like?
i do for some and i've definitely shared this list like...a million times other places but i guess i haven't here yet huh
anyway, i'm far too lazy to look up the actual actors and never remember their names, so here's the characters who i compare their voices to. most are from anime so just assume i'm referring to the dub in all of them
Rex- Yato from Noragami
Mikiah- Also Yato I guess bc they have the same voice, just speak in slightly different tones
Desmond- Kunikida from Bungou Stray Dogs
Claude- .............................hear me out. Scaramouche Genshin
Stella- Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop
Nia- Fucking Pinkie Pie
Christoph- Gorou from Genshin
Charlie- Ok this one's complicated and you won't find a sample of it unless you listen to this specific audio book (Tales from the Gas Station- Highly recommend), but Mr. Creepypasta on Youtube doing a southern accent. The entire reason Charlie has a southern accent was bc I was listening to this book when Charlie was introduced and Mr. Creepypasta's voice for this one character just got stuck in my head.
Nine Lives (if you even know who he is)- Rebeltaxi on Youtube
Everyone else I've stumbled across voices before that I think would fit, but like they just never stick with me, ya know. So everyone else is TBD

Escapade Dance Party 2023 Writeup 2/3
Here is the playlist I ended up with this year, plus my commentary:
First Half
Good Omens | Running in the 90's by Maria Morningstar
Good Omens is so tricky. On the one hand, there are a billion fantastic vids, many with editing that's better than this one. On the other, a lot of the preferred music is syrupy and slow, and GO fans are actively seeking out vids and have already seen many of the ones intended for cons in the English-speaking world.
I wanted something high-energy to open the dance with, and this ridiculous song fit the bill. It woke people up and got them noticing the music had started.
I don't know Maria, but her channel has a bunch of things with cyrillic titles, so I'm guessing she's Russian. That meant a higher chance of this vid being new to people at Escapade.
Tubthumping by Aaronantium
To be perfectly honest, I do not care about this anime, but I was chilling with Aaron at Vidders Chat and discussing my plans, and he offered to make me a vid for his vampire fandom.
I don't generally accept premieres because it means wrangling more people and dealing with uncertainty, but Aaron suggested this song, and it's always a crowd pleaser as is the vid everyone makes to it. This fandom is also unusually perfect for said joke, featuring as it does a repeatedly dying vampire who… well… gets back up again.
Actually, despite it not being most people's fandom, I think this vid got one of the biggest laughs and reactions of anything during the party.
Kirk/Spock | I Knew You Were Trouble by mogo nit
K/S is a perennial favorite with con attendees—more TOS but AOS too. I don't recall why I was specifically looking for it this year. Probably, it ranked best out of things people mentioned on their site profiles.
This is an old-ass vid from 10 years ago, so if people have seen it, they probably haven't seen it lately. It's also a song I love, cliched though it might be for vids.
Word of Honor - Wenzhou - Hit and Run by CelestialMoonDragon
I knew I wanted to include WoH, both for its many fans and for people still dragging their feet about checking out Asian live action m/m stuff. The fandom has a wealth to choose from from vidders all over the globe. The big issue was simply finding vids that weren't too plastered with show audio.
When I heard this song choice, however, I knew it was the one. WoH has some unusual genre elements for wuxia, specifically all the central government focus where wuxia characters usually stay away from politics. The song really highlights that aspect. Those lyric matches! Genius!
【夜访吸血鬼】【莱斯特】【Young and Beautiful】献给我最心中最美艳的吸血鬼——莱斯特 by 欧阳夏右
Obviously, if I was going to celebrate the new IWTV, I couldn't leave out the old movie!
This is a brilliant song choice given what happens to Lestat. It's interesting to me how many Chinese vidders use music I know well. It's always fun to see what they do with a Western source and Western music, and I think bilibili is largely uncharted territory for most Escapade attendees.
【The Sentinel】【Jim/Blair】It's consuming me(Lash视角)美剧-哨兵 同人mv by ozakikaoru
The Sentinel still has monofannish fans, but covering it for a dance party is a pain in the butt. I generally end up scraping the depths of Bilibili, and this year was no exception…
So how excited was I to find this refreshing and freaky take! This audio is apparently from some short film and has become something of a meme amongst vidders, but I hadn't heard it before and I don't think anyone at the con had either.
It's always extra surprising and wonderful to find a more serious and darker vid for fandoms everyone associates with camp and retro cheese. The Sentinel fans I included it for were blown away too. It's apparently a pretty good representation of the episode in question.
Forever Knight Vampires | Darkness, Darkness | Gothic 90s by knightvision1228
Because I had the vampires theme, I made a huge list of vampire fandoms to try to include. Forever Knight was one of my fandoms of the 90s and very popular with het shippers and slashers alike. Finding a vid that didn't look like bad VHS transfer, however, was easier said than done.
This one won out for featuring a rare song from the FK soundtrack that was never released. The vid also showcases the main trio instead of just being Nick/Jeanette het.
Megatron x Optimus (Song: Wrecking Ball) by Mellew
We have a lot of Transformers fans, and it's always so hard to find something I can play in the dance party… well… something that's not a 10-minute compilation of explicit fan art to horny reggaeton. Personally, I'm all about that reggaeton, but I've been looking for actual shipper vids that are a little more representative and a little less likely to make the fans combust in embarrassment.
When I heard the song choice… well… no other vid could compete.
But don't let the literalism and hilarious if one-note joke fool you: this is a fantastically edited vid that makes excellent use of the song's varying tempo.
And yes, I made sure to loudly say "WHY ARE YOU ALL LAUGHING? THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS VID" as the vid started.
BakuDeku AMV - Lucky Strike by caliowl 333
Do I watch BNHA? No. Do people at the con watch BNHA? No. Do antis hate this ship? Absofuckinglutely YES!
I love stupid shonen nonsense, and this fandom provides it in spades. It took a while to find an AMV that wasn't littered with not only show audio but dubbed show audio. (What am I, an animal?!)
I also just really love this song for dance parties.
Dancing on My Own - Robyn (Izzy Hands Edit) by auxiliarywardrobe
OFMD is another tough one. It's not due to a lack of vids: if anything, there are too many. But so many aren't suitable for a dance party and many are already familiar to people.
While I did find this on AO3 (honestly nearly a requirement for finding non-show audio vids in this fandom), it hadn't gotten any attention from people I recognized as an Escapade type crowd.
I loved the indignity of pairing Izzy with this ridiculous song. OFMD was a little anodyne for me in some ways, so the sleazy obnoxiousness of Izzy is a welcome antidote to all of the fluff and angst vids about the main ship.
At the same time, I don't particularly ship Izzy with anybody. I enjoy watching him be miserable, and the song is actually quite a good lyrical match for his impotent frustration.
Do You Wanna Touch Me? [Fanvid] by resurrecho
Okay, this one is cheating on my own rules. I'm sure people had every opportunity to see it… But it's also a femslash vid that is very, very horny.
This one's for you ladies tired of ~dewy flower~ soft bullshit!
Cult of Dionysus - Leverage OT3 - Eliot/Parker/Hardison by leverage brain worms
Leverage remains a perennial favorite and the new show had attendees talking,  but people often request the same tired old vid choice. I went looking for something that hadn't been played at every con over and over.
I liked that this vid was relatively recent. The song with poly lyrics was a fun touch.
HeiHua FMV~|| Hei Ye falling for the Thorny Flower by Black Flower
When I saw this vid, I said to myself: I don't know who they are, but I ship them!
AND GUESS WHAT? SEEING THE SHOW DID NOT CHANGE THAT OPINION!
Yes, this vid is directly responsible for me watching all these DMBJ adaptations.
I knew a lot of Escapade attendees were vaguely familiar with Reunion because of Zhu Yilong, but I didn't think most had checked out the rest of DMBJ, and this vid was so diametrically opposite of both that adaptation and the vibe of the big ship that I knew I just had to include it.
But seriously, this vidder actually has an excellent grasp of narrative. Now that I've seen the show, some of this stuff is repurposed and out of context, but you wouldn't know it from the eyelines.
Cover Me - A Fanvid by TinTurtle
Ah, Pros. The Professionals has the most dedicated fans at Escapade, hands down. They keep the con afloat and keep their fandom vibrant even after decades. Finding a dance vid to include for them, however, is a bit of a trial.
Realistically, I'm never going to find a vid they haven't all seen unless I make it myself, so I look for songs with a better beat than the typical old fandom vids tend to have.
The Fanged Four - Play with Fire (BTVS/ATS) by SlayerVid
People were talking about the Buffyverse again this year. Was it an anniversary of some kind? I can't recall, but it's a big nostalgia fandom for a lot of attendees, and it's one of the bigger vampire fandoms, so I wanted to include it.
While there used to be a billion vids for Buffy and Angel, only a fraction of them are findable online now. I went hunting for something not by a con regular and with visual quality that would play okay on a projector.
This is a great song for its grinding beat, and the vid is both recent and features a variety of vampire characters.
BL | Mobu ✘ Kikuchi S2 || So What by rosenana708
I suspect I found it by looking for Kei x Yaku vids, but as soon as I spotted it, I knew it was a must-have.
Yes, this is full of stupid show audio, but too bad: Nobody at a slash or BL con should be allowed to escape without knowing that A Man Who Defies the World of BL exists.
The Locked Tomb | Fences (SPOILERS!) by peachy 💕
This fandom was the latest hot flavor for many and f/f to boot. I was skeptical about finding a vid, but what do you know!
die for you / beyond evil by butillmissyou
After being pimped in by last year's vid find, I knew I wanted to include it again.
This music grabbed me by the throat. I'd never even heard of LÉON, but the soulful sound is perfect for this fandom.
Personal Jesus by killabeez
I desperately wanted a vid to this song. The cover isn't my fave, but I couldn't turn down the combo of a vampire fandom and this classic.
True, Killa isn't exactly obscure to anyone at Escapade, but this is a relatively less seen older vid and excellently edited.
BTS Vampire FMV | Bad Things (True Blood OP) by GoldenArmy7
I'm so clever.
Yes, this is mostly here so I can follow the True Blood vid with one to the True Blood theme song. Also to inflict BTS on people.
● Ichiro + Shiro | 'dope' (KeixYaku: Dangerous Partners FMV) by xXScarshadowXx
And now some BTS music, LOL
Sadly no longer online from what I can tell
WEDNESDAY | “Sweet But Psycho” Netflix Serie [HD] by SHIK
There are like thirty vids to this fandom using this song. This one blew the others out of the water.
I'll be honest, everyone was trying to push Wednesday/Enid around the time of the con, and that ship is the most boring thing you could possibly take away from this show. I wanted a vid that showcased what's actually fun here, which is not sucking all the creepy out of an Addams Family adaptation, for fuck sake.
ALIEN SUPERSTAR | Wanda & Scarlet Witch by LittleLaceBoots
MCU is still big with attendees, but it's so sprawling that knowing what to choose is hard. I found this music choice quite interesting for how it showcases the weird schtick of this particular show.
A Cowboy's Love by lilly_the_kid
If there's one AO3 vidder I will always play, it's lilly_the_kid! I wanted something for Star Wars, and I wanted it to be slash. This classic and ridiculous vid fit the bill.
Is it appropriate for a dance party? It is IF I SAY IT IS!
Boss Bitch | Lan Wangji (陈情令 The Untamed FMV) by slowparade
Everyone vids this song, but this example is particularly great!
I like aspects of The Untamed a lot. Sadly, those aspects do not include the central ship. I'm always on the hunt for vids that actually work for me. This take on Lan Wangji is hilarious.
Geraskier - Fine By Me by CainnetreIt delights me to find vids to other versions of popular canons. This is such a classic slash vid. It's not particularly danceable, but it's so fun that I wanted to include it, so it needed to go at the end of a section. It's the kind of song you wave your beer around to.

solaris has a very unique verbal quirk that i haven't noticed from any of the rest of the 'main' ieytd cast. personally, it's probably one of my favorite character defining features, both for her and probably for most of the characters that we actually see in the games.
solaris has a very interesting way of verbally communicating under pressure.
as the phoenix messes with her technology, she will be very outwardly hostile towards them. but one of the main threats she weaponizes in an attempt to get them to stop is how much danger the agent is putting themself in by trying to sabotage the death engine.
it's as if she's attempting to drill it into their head. if you mess with my technology, you will die. as if they don't already know. as if she'll inevitably hit some magic number and they'll suddenly realize the risks they're taking and stop trying to blow up the satellite they're literally attached to.
this isn't the interesting part of the equation, though. that only happens once the agent keeps going with their attempts- either succeeding, or coming dangerously close to it.
she... gets scared. she gets audibly scared. she still attempts to weaponize the risks that the agent is taking, but she slips up. she says the quiet part out loud. "we're both dead". "we're both going to die". "you'll kill us both".
the assumption to draw from this circumstance is that solaris is fully aware that the agent has the potential to kill her. the second they started messing with her technology, it's been a possibility looming in the back of her mind. she has been worried about it- seemingly- the entire time. but she disguises it with aggression like an angry, cornered animal.
i think it lends some very interesting insight into solaris' thought process, and the way that she verbally engages with people around her... i also think it could say something about the way that she talks with zor specifically, this context in mind...
transcriptions for both audio files beneath the cut, including the names of the audio logs as they're given in the game files (because they provide added context to when the quotes are used)
VO_Space_SQ_Post_Controller_Banter_02: “If you blow up the Death Engine, you’re going down with it.” VO_Space_SQ_Post_Controller_Banter_03: “Are you ready to sacrifice yourself? Because your odds for surviving this are zero.” VO_Space_SQ_Post_Controller_Banter_04: “I know you’re bad at risk assessment, so let me help you out. My Death Engine explodes? You die.” VO_Space_SQ_Rip_Panel_01: “What do you think you’re doing?! Blowing up the Death Engine is guaranteed to kill you.” VO_Space_SQ_Rip_Panel_02: “Are you mad…?! Blowing up the Death Engine will kill you.” VO_Space_SQ_Rip_Panel_03: “Stop that at once! Mess with the reactor and you die!” VO_Space_SQ_Solve_Thrown_Object_Puzzle_02: “Why must you be such a pest? Don’t you realize messing with the Death Engine puts you at risk just the same?”
VO_Space_SQ_Catch_Thrown_Object_01: “How… dexterous of you… Don’t get any silly ideas, now-” VO_Space_SQ_Catch_Thrown_Object_02: “Oh… Just… safely throw the crate towards earth and nobody will get hurt-” VO_Space_SQ_Catch_Thrown_Object_03: “Sigh, you just don’t quit, do you? Don’t get any funny ideas with that crate now…” VO_Space_SQ_Grab_Crystal_01: “Do you realize how dangerous that crystal is? … You’ll kill us both!” VO_Space_SQ_Grab_Wincon_01: “Put that down! Before you, uh… hurt yourself-!” VO_Space_SQ_Start_Chain_Reaction_01: “What have you done?! We’re both going to die-!” VO_Space_SQ_Start_Chain_Reaction_02: “You reckless fool! Okay… I can fix this…” VO_Space_SQ_Start_Chain_Reaction_03: “Idiot! You killed us both! … Well, I’ll probably be fine-” VO_Space_SQ_Lose_Crystal: “Aww, that’s… unfortunate. You had me worried there for a moment!”

Tagging on tumblr: quick tips for podcast creators
Congrats on your new account. Here's some quick tips you didn't ask for.
Use spaces, eg #the far meridian
Capital letters won't affect tagging. eg #InCo and #inco will both show up in the same tag
A comma will split a tag, so just leave it out. Eg. Back Again, Back Again -> #back again back again
Tags written in the body of the post, as I've been doing here, won't show up in a search.
You probably want to add tags to any new post you make, as these can be searched for.
However! If you're reblogging, you don't actually need to add any. They won't show up in tag searches outside of your own blog. You can use them on your own blog to, a) find things again later, and b) add content warnings. I use them for organisation, mostly.
If you use content warning tags, Do Not sensor the text. It makes them harder to filter. For, say, peaches, valid options include #peaches, #cw peaches, or #tw peaches. Some people add things after, eg. #cw peaches //, which I personally find makes things more difficult to filter.
Your show has it's own tag, congratulations!! Before you tag anything else, you should add your show tag.
One content warning tag worth a specific mention: if you are including an animated image or video in your post that could set off epilepsy (ie, contains flashing lights or rapidly cycling colours) tag it with #flashing lights. Do not tag it with #epilepsy.
If the OP added a content warning tag on their post, tumblr's filtering system can still pick it up in reblogs, even if you haven't added it.
There may be variations on it. The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity and Mortality has: #the mistholme museum of mystery morbidity and mortality, #the mistholme museum, #tmmmmm, #m5, and so on.
Most shows just use 2, eg #where the stars fell and #wtsf
Podcasts that may be confused with other things typically use a variant. eg. Malevolent -> #malevolent podcast, The Weird -> #join the weird
Tagging with your own show name will also help anyone looking for you to actually find you. This could be by spotting one of your posts, but tumblr search also tells you which blogs use a certain tag a lot. Search for "#audio drama" and you might find me.
Tagging irrelevant things (on a new post) is considered spam and is a better way to get blocked than noticed.
However, adding names of other shows like yours may be a handy way of promoting your own show, but to a limit. If you do it for more than the occasional promo, people will again, block you for clogging up the tags.
#audio drama, #audio fiction, and #fiction podcast can help people who are looking for new shows to notice you. They are also relevant and will not get you blocked.
Any really general tags like #scifi probably won't do anything: they're heavily used and rarely searched.
Anything past the first 20 tags (if I remember correctly) will not show up in a search. You can add up to 30 tags.
If you put quotations around text in a tag #"like this" it will show up as the first tag (minus the quotations). If you put it in the middle of a sentence the quoted bit will (bizzarely) be cut out of the sentence and show up as the first tag. Eg [#this is an "example sentence" i am using] becomes [#example sentence #this is an i am using]
The OP of a post can see anything you put in the tags, but unless what you say is uncomfortable or very good they will probably politely pretend they didn't see.
Instead of replying in a reblog directly, people on this site usually write in the tags. If someone likes it, they may add it as a reply (with your username: peer reviewed). This is also considered the polite way to say things like ''this is 100% greg and darryl in episode 5'' on posts that aren't actually about your show.
On a related note: promoting your show as a reblog of someone else's post (unless they have specifically asked or indicated this is fine) is advised against. Posting your new episode notice onto someone else's aesthetic image post, for example, will be seen as obnoxious. However, tagging that same post with #Episode 11, or #show aesthetic #y'all aren't ready for tomorrow's episode is completely acceptable.
While useful, you aren't ever obligated to use tags, either.
Just do your best, don't stress. You'll get the hang of it.

hi im sure youve been asked this a million bajillion times before but is there an estimated date for when Friendlocke S3 highlights will start coming to youtube?
Okay so, this is a loaded answer so STRAP IN:
I don't want to rush it this time, so probably sometime before the year ends, and here's why:
For Season 1, I finished editing all of the videos, and then posted them "Bingewatch" style in a short span of 2 weeks. To me? That's optimal.
On the flipside, for Season 2, I rushed myself too hard, and ended up posting stuff WAYYY too early, and thus, Season 2's highlight videos were posted over the span of an entire year (YIKES)
This lead to Friendlocke effectively taking over my channel for a while, which I don't want. I want it to be one of the many series and videos on the channel! And for people who aren't interested to not get bombarded with it over a longer period.
The way Season 2 was handled is NOT happening again. So in an effort to not "grind stuff out for content" and appease the algorithm, I'm taking my time with it alongside a bunch of my bigger projects!
I am in NO RUSH, and I apologize if that stinks to hear, but I want to make sure these videos are REALLY good. Like, on par with previous seasons or even BETTER.
If you want to know my current progress, since you've been so kind to read my word vomit:
The Season is looking to have 6 episodes, much like Season 2!
The way the editing pipeline works for Friendlocke is that it's broken into 3 chunks. The Base Edit, the Salty Edit, and Final Additions.
"Base Edits" are done first, and are the video editing work done by my wonderful Editors (i.e. Tracey, Rusty, RasenDan, e.t.c.)! These edits are where they chop up the best/most important bits, and add some of their own visual/audio gags.
The "Base Edits" of episodes 1-4 are all complete, with 5 and 6 currently being worked on.
The "Salty Edit" is exactly what it sounds like, it's my draft of the Base Edits! I basically do my own round of editing of the previous drafts, making tweaks, adding jokes, and working on scripted segments to stitch events together where needed!
I haven't done much of my edits yet, as I'm focused on the Jojo Iceberg and bringing back some other videos, but I have been working behind the scenes on:
Final Additions! These are usually the last wave of edits, focused on adding in animation, music, and other things. While these are usually added in last, I have to coordinate with artists and animators fairly early on to make sure nobody has to crunch. Basically, as soon as I know a portion needs animation, or we have enough material for it, I talk to them immediately and start planning for it to be added later!
ANYWAY, sorry for the long blurb. Hope this all helps while I keep working on stuff in the meantime!

Every time a new Brandon Sanderson book is released everyone updates their suggested reading order but all you need is the patience to be uninformed and enjoy the book!
But depending on your preference the best story to start with will be different.
If you want a crash course on the basics of The Cosmere's magic physics (Aka Investiture) so you can hypothesize on how other magic works I suggest the short story "The Emperor's Soul" as a starting point, it gives a solid overview of Realmic theory and covers Identity (a rather difficult idea to communicate) very effectively. (this is the start of the PhD route)
If you want something that's more like a traditional fairy tale as an intro I suggest Tress Of the Emerald Sea, which doesn't require a PhD in the shattering to understand. (though if you're going the PhD route I suggest reading this one later because if you're questioning the magic it's a far more confusing one)
Warbreaker is a good middle ground, if you're going the PhD route I suggest this second (it covers Intention which "The Emperor's Soul" doesn't), It's not a bad starting place either, it was my first book in The Cosmere and it's up for free on The Sand-Man's website. It's also all-around an excellent book.
I'm going to be (a tad) controversial and say I enjoy Elantris, it's certainly not Brando-Sando's best work but it was his first, and it's not a bad book to start with! just keep in mind that many of the issues in the book are things he improves on in later books.
Mistborn is two (soon to be 3) series, we distinguish them by 'Era' and they should be read in order if you want to make sense of what's going on.
Mistborn Era 1 (3 books) is also an excellent place to start, it's a YA-style series so you follow a teenager in a Post-(more like perpetual)-Apocalypse, but it's also an Epic high fantasy so if you like those and don't mind romance It's a good one.
"Mistborn Secret History": read this after Mistborn Era 1 if you're going the PHD route read anytime before The Lost Metal (Era 2 Book 4) for everyone else. (PhD track: if you want the most out of it I suggest also reading White Sand first)
Mistborn Era 2 (4 books) is a high fantasy Western set in the same world much later in time, 10/10 no notes, it's excellent.
The Stormlight Archive, TheBigOne™ It is planned to be a 10-book series with accompanying Novellas. I suggest reading in chronological order including the short stories, published so far that would be:
The Way of Kings
Words of Radiance
"Edgedancer" (novella)
Oathbringer
"Dawnshard" (novella)
Rhythm of War
Start with this series if you thirst for sprawling high-fantasy novels with page counts that would make grown men weep (the Audiobook for RoW was like 48 hours long)
The entirety of Arcanum Unbounded is not required reading, (unless you're on the PhD track) but it contains both "The Emperor's Soul" and "Edgedancer", you should probably read Elantris, Mistborn Era 1, Alloy Of Law (MB Era 2 Book 1), and Stormlight (up to Words of Radiance). If you enjoy Graphic Novels and dislike spoilers/rereading stuff when you haven't finished it yet I suggest skipping the White Sand excerpt.
White Sand is also not a terrible intro, it covers a theme in B-Sandy's work that isn't directly related to the cosmere but will give you a good insight into whether you'll like his work or not: the idea that skill is developed, not just inherent. if you're like me and dislike graphic novels GraphicAudio™ (actually a company not a joke) Has an Audio rendition that has some narrative differences from the Graphic novels (iirc at least one character is a different gender) But the Graphic novels also have a random boombox on a planet with no electricity so either should be fine.
Yumi and the Nightmare Painter is in a similar situation to Tress of The Emerald Sea except instead of a classic European Folktale Vibe it's got a Western Interpretation of Anime Vibe, ofc it's high fantasy like all Sandon Branderson's work so it's world is inspired by Japanese culture rather than just being Japanese.
The Sunlit Man read Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell (Arcanum Unbounded), and at least Oathbringer (Stormlight Archive 3) before this one, unless you like being thrown into the deep end, Mistborn Era 1 & 2 would also help.
There are other routes than Ph.D., there's also the Galactic Politics route, The Secret Society route, The Worldhopper Watcher route, The Ancient History route (Aka The Shattering route) ect
if you want specific reading route recs just tell me what you're looking for I can help!
