Im going to write a what if scenario involving Alex. Its something ive been wanting to experiment with cause Alex isn’t in a relationship and I love ship dynamics. One being the sweetest being with something as chaotic and (evil?) as him. Or something whose ah fuck you ill kick your ass unknowing of what he is. and no matter what just Ill fight you you wack ass bitch and him just....loving it. its hard to decide but...heres a scenario of a what if

It was a party like any other in his club. Music booming and loud, lights everywhere, and people dancing and moving to the beat. It was a blast!

Alex was handing out drink after drink, and there was an endless wave of new dance partners. Always someone new, someone different. People were drawn to him after all and his fun loving charismatic ways. Just as the thought passed more people entered the party. He was determined to not only have a good time himself but to have others have a good time. He approached a group and gestured to everyone, “Welcome to the club! First drink is on me!” The group cheered, all but one who rolled their eyes.

This caused one of the chaotic clowns eyebrows to quirk up and a big grin formed on his face, “How about you, you came to have fun right?” He teased them. They glared at him and flipped him the bird. Which only served to irk him a bit but he didnt show it, no.

Alex was too determined, if one person had a bad time at his party it ruined the flow...the flavor....it only takes one bad apple after all.

He held out a hand in a gesture of come in and join the party, but she slapped his hand away from her, “Designated driver....Nice try bud...” And walked off. Leaving Alex to feel.....annoyed. His grin stayed ever present though and he laughed it off. How boring, he could find someone more fun though.

He slipped off into the party once more. His movements matching that of the music. He’d enjoy himself despite the one sour mood of another.

A few hours had passed since than. The party seemed to have more wild than before. The energy Alex was sending out and receiving in turn was absolute bliss. Loving every bit of it. He was on the stage dancing with a group of just as wild and energetic humans.

He jumped down and into the crowd, instantly being caught and carried above it all. Crowd surfing was always fun to him. He patted the people carrying him across the crowd to let him down and they did. And where he landed he wasn’t expecting, or who he landed next to really. The minute he landed her eyes landed on him and he grinned, “Yo, we cross paths again” he said with a chuckle. Her mood seemed to shift instantly and she sneered, “Why are you talking to me...again.” His grin stayed ever present, “Just trying to spread some good times and laughs.” “Yeah right, by getting everyone completely wasted and making them stupid. Doesn’t sound like a good time.” She stated. “Oh yeah, and whats a good time to you then babe?” He laughed. Her head spun back in his direction and she glared. She took a step forward and stuck her finger into his chest, “Don’t call me babe, I know your type.” She started with a growl, “The party guy, acts like your friend but really your just an insecure asshole who bullies others and takes advantage of people in drunken state.” Alex’s grin slowly started to dissipate as he watched this human blatantly insult and berate him. She continued her arms going onto her hips, this tiny tiny human getting all up in his face! This tiny human who he could crush under his actual thumb. Who could hardly pass as even a snack. “And another thing!” He came back to reality a bit and heard her voice once more. “This party isn’t even that great! Its just lights, and some shitty music thats not even good.” Okay now she went too far, insulting his taste in music. Alex made a move to get in her space and show her this was his space, his domain, and he could crush her into the dust she came from. But when he got close, she went on the defensive. Clearly Alex’s movements were threatening as suddenly he felt some sort of force on his face and his sunglasses came off a bit.

He stood there shocked now more than ever. She hit him? The nerve of this human girl! He stared at her the surprise most evident on his face, and something else in him bubbling but not sure what. Her face was that of surprise but then turned to anger that seemed to her justified. “Leave me alone, think twice before coming at me again. Next time I won’t be so nice and I’ll kick your ass.” She turned and walked away and from the looks of it she was straight up leaving the club.

Probably for the best. Alex stood there surprised, annoyed as hell and wondering what the hell he was feeling. It was anger yes but something else...something new?

It felt...warm....and tickled a bit.

He didn’t know whether to hate it.....

or love it.....

Best of DC: Week of March 27th, 2019

Best of this Week: Detective Comics #1000 - Various Writers and Artists

Possibly more controversial than I'm thinking it'll be, I'm glad Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo did the job of reintroducing Slam Bradley into the DC Universe. Slam Bradley, of course the way I choose to remember him, was one of DC's first characters and the precursor design to modern day Superman. He was a 1930s dick (detective in this case) who made his name in infamy with racist depictions of Chinese people being swung by their braids with toothy grins. He's likely the reason DC won't reprint some of the early Detective Comics works in a compendium.

This is without a doubt, a great celebration for one of the greatest comic book characters of all time, if not THE greatest. The difficulty in reviewing something like this, much like Action Comics #1000 (if I reviewed that one, I don't remember) is that so many stories have their ups and downs, hits or misses and there's so much ground. But some of these were so good that this book is getting an entry all on it's own this week.

He's been made better in recent years with a badass run as a side character in Ed Brubaker and Darwyn Cooke's Catwoman (2001) as a cool former police officer with a son by the name of Slam Jr. on the force. He was probably some of the best parts of his short time there and was very compelling in interactions with Selina.

Kevin Smith and Jim Lee have arguably done some of the best and WORST Batman projects ever, but through the good and the bad, both have immense talent and their tale “Manufacture for Use” added a beautiful layer to the significance of the metal plate that his emblem is made out of.

The book is simple enough, a montage of Batman fighting his greatest villains shows in the background while his alter ego, Matches Malone, has a conversation with a merchant peddling in the various pieces of gear left by villains. He has Harley hammers, crazy quilts and even freeze guns, but there's only one weapon Malone is interested in; The Gun belonging to Joe Chill. The weapon that killed The Wayne Family.

He and others had been leaving Batman clues since his first days as a hero to have him join a guild of detectives, solving unsolvable or very difficult cases and knowing that Slam is one of the detectives along with Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Martian Manhunter, The Question, Detective Chimp, Elongated Man and his wife, Sue Dibny is relieving and fantastic.

I'm glad DC hasn't shied away from him given his past history. Even his inclusion in Superman of China based on his former character, warts and all, seemed like DC was kinda ashamed of it, but here he is, as awesome as he was later in life!

Upon seeing it, Alfred questions why Bruce would keep it as a trophy, nothing the ridiculousness of The Penny and the Dinosaur, he sees the gun as strange or even perverse. Batman, however, wishes to never see it cause anyone pain again, melting and forming it into an oval adorned with the symbol of a Bat.

Batman has dedicated his life to stopping crime in Gotham at all costs, but not everyone see his methods as being right or just. Doctor Leslie Thompkins has been looking over Bruce since his parent’s murder and oped that he would take his pain and do something productive with it, actually fix Gotham, but instead she sees how vengeance has consumed him, turning him into something of a violent monster himself and she’s not wrong. They meet each other on the anniversary of his parent’s murder in Crime Alley and are beset upon by a group of teenagers whom Batman viciously slaps the hell out of. Dr. Thompkins stops him out of fear and Batman looks like the real villain here.

If that isn't chilling...

Brian Michael Bendis is a GREAT Batman writer. Checking out his 15 pages in the Batman Walmart 100 Page Giants, much like Daredevil, Batman is a character that is PERFECT for him. “I Know” drawn by frequent Bendis collaborator, Alex Maleev, is amazing. Penguin started becoming disillusioned with the meetings put together by villains like The Joker on how to finally get rid of The Batman, Penguin begins to muse about who had the money to fund Batman. I believe he proposed the idea to the others, but they all shot him down, citing times Batman showed up when Bruce was a hostage or how he “blubbered like a baby.”

Penguin didn’t let it go, however, and prepared Suicide Bomb Penguins to attack Wayne Manor while Bruce was hosting a ton of high profile Gothamites. It would have been the end of Bruce Wayne.

Warren Ellis writes some very character driven stories, but when he has to get technical, he is a master as good as any. In “The Batman’s Design” he goes over Batman’s methodology when taking on criminals, treating things like a chess game that he’s already won. He leads the criminals to a trap and plays them like a fiddle, setting off an explosion that knock out or send some flying, determining a sniper’s location and just being so terrifying that the leader just hands him a bomb switch before his ass gets destroyed.

Becky Cloonan does a great job of alternating between cool and warm tones for when Batman is in the shadows vs contending with explosions he’s setting off. Batman looks slim, but imposing regardless. This is definitely some of her best art so far!

Now… if you ask any of my friends from when I was in The Navy, they’ll tell you about how I waited in line for Batman: The Arkham Knight. I was excited. I was elated. The conclusion to an amazing trilogy of games that shaped a newfound love for the character for me! And it bloody sucked. I HATE Arkham Knight with a passion. If it’s not The Batmobile, it’s the Joker, if not the Joker, it’s the Knight himself, if not him, then Scarecrow as the shitty final villain.

I really loved the noir tone that was set by Elizabeth Breitweiser’s colors over Steve Epting’s art. Things are very dark and cool. Batman is shrouded in shadow and Doctor Thompkins acts as a small light by comparison. There is great contrast when action happens with warm tones as Batman slaps the teens and Batman standing in the shadows as Leslie and the kids are under the one light is powerful.

Suffice to say, I was not pleased when it was said that The Arkham Knight would finally be appearing in comics different than his video game counterpart, but… I dunno, I kinda like him here.

His characterization seems to be that of someone who has lived in Gotham and has seen Batman’s methods of treating the poor citizens, the weak and the sick. He sees Batman as a cancer, a darkness that needs to be exterminated for Gotham to truly thrive. The best thing, there’s precedent for this kind of character.

One of the first few arcs for Detective Comics involved a cool set of villains known as The Victim Syndicate, people who have been hurt or grievously injured in Batman’s relentless pursuit of crime. These guys put Batman’s team through the ringer, almost turning Stephanie Brown against him completely as Tim Drake had been presumed dead at the time. Another casualty of war. If I remember right, The First Victim noted that there was someone or something coming for Batman soon and if that’s the Arkham KNight, then I am excited.

The Victim Syndicate was one of James Tynion IV’s best ideas during his run and I really hope whoever the creative team is for Detective Comics thus forth lives up to the quality. Peter J. Tomasi and Doug Mahnke are both amazing, so I have high hopes if its them.

But Penguin had an epiphany. Ending Bruce Wayne would not end Batman. Batman would become focused. Driven. Possibly to the point of killing. Bruce Wayne is the only thing keeping these villains alive, so Penguin relents and never reveals what he believes he knows, until years later when Bruce is old and mute… but who says that Bruce has lost a step? He zaps Penguin who is taken away as Bruce tells him that he knew, pretty much calling him a “coward ass bitch” as he’s taken away.

Overall, while there were few misses, this collection of stories had great ideas, great characterization, heart and was just fantastic. Looking forward to another 80 years!

This one was just cute. The Batfamily interacts with each other and take a FANTASTIC family photo drawn by Tony S. Daniel. Starring, Batman, Alfred, Nightwing, Batgirl, “Robin” Damian Wayne, Red Hood, Batwoman, Catwoman, “(Red) Robin” Tim Drake, Spoiler, The Signal, Cassandra Cain Ace the Bathound and Huntress. It’s a well put together double splash page and everyone, even Bruce seems happy.

Ruined fun?

Pairing: Lucifer x reader

For the last few weeks y/n and Lucifer had made a home in an abandoned small hotel. Lucifer had fixed it up cleaned all the rooms and made sure everything was modern and fit for his mate.

He had even removed several of the rooms to replace them with a library, the kitchen was up to date and many rooms were tuned into activity rooms and many on the first floor were removed and made into a living room.

The hotel had been refurbished and in its place a beautiful home filled with his mates favorite colors and designs.

When y/n had first been shown around she was amazed. She spent hours thanking him and staying attached to his side. The master bedroom was previously the presidential sweet and the room next to it was turned into a nursery, for the little future arrival.

Present time-

You were lounging in your shared room snacking and rubbing your belly whispering little praises and love to it. You rocked slightly and started to hum, a random tune with no name, but sweet and calming.

This is the site that met Lucifer when he walked in to check up on you. You looked so serene and beautiful, no angel had ever compared to you in his eyes. Your h/l h/c hair, contrasted against your skin and your eyes such a rare shade of e/c. He was lucky to have a goddess such as you.

When you feel his weight settle in behind you, his cool skin pressed against your own heated flesh. His lips press light kisses into your neck as he lays you down, and begins a trail of them down your torso to your heated core.

Hooking his fingers into the elastic of your shorts he slides them down panties and all. The cool air of his breathe against your wet lips send shivers throughout your body. He swipes his fingers along your slit, once then twice before sitting up on his knees and undoing his belt. With baby bump in the way he cant lay across you like before but this position will work just as well.

He runs his hands under your knees and and angles his hips slush against yours, he pushes the head of his cock lightly against you entrance before sliding in. Th drag of him inside you was still as euphoric as the first time.

His pace is controlled and slow; his hands are firm against your thighs. Each thrust is met with a grunt and a moan.

"Lucifer...you feel so good." Your eyes shine up at him with love, his eyes mirrored yours, this wasnt about lust.

"Shh...let me worship your beautiful body mate, just lay back and relax, this is all about you tonight." His hips pick up a faster pace his eyes search her expression for what she likes and what feel the best to her. When she suddenly arches her back with a loud moan he knows he hit that special spot, angling his hips he thrust in harder hitting it over and over until her wet heat clamps down on his length and his hips stutter filling her with his cool seed.

He pulls out their shared juices running down her thighs as he rolls onto his side and pulls her into his chest.

"Sleep little mate, the little one could be here any day now, you need rest."

Your responding laugh cause a smile on his face, "alright alright, I'll rest more my protective angel."

Only when your body relaxes and your breaths even out does he allow himself to follow you into sleep.

A feeling of unease and discomfort arouses you from your sleep. As your senses return to your there is an ache in you back and you cant move your hands or feet.

Looking around you, your surroundings are unfamiliar. It's an old warehouse, the light through the windows is hazy at best, and there dangling hooks covered in what you presume to be dried blood.

On the floor next to you is a man with his eyes burned out, and across from you a woman was slumped against a wall, blood covered cracks formed in the wall behind her. She had been thrown into it. Hushed whispers grab your attention, turning your head your met with twonken you've never seen before, but the overwhelming stench of sulphur gives you the idea of them being demons. Staying silent you listen in to there conversation.

"How are we supposed to use her against Lucifer if we cant even get with 10 ft of her without being smited."

"I dont know, but asmodeus will have our heads if we cant get ahold of Lucifer, hes been more violent then usual since gabriel got away and nearly killed him."

You were shocked, 'asmodeus is still alive.'

"..maybe we can give her to asmodeus instead, look at her, shes pregnant with obviously a nephilim, maybe he could use that things grace instead."

Hearing this pissed you off. No one threatens my baby! Scanning your surroundings once again you notice the room doesnt have any warding put up, probably because they were attempting to lure Lucifer. You begin praying to your angel, hoping he can hear you.

Lucifer pov-

He had woken hours ago, not seeing his mate anywere set him off, searching the entire area of their home, he couldnt find her anywhere. Panic was starting to take over.

"Y/N. MATE!" He began flying to all her favorite cafes and parks nearby, but she wasnt there either. Sending out his grace, he couldnt feel her soul, the only thing telling him she was alive was he could still feel the bond. He was so panicked that the sky was beginning to darken, lighting flashed and rain pelted the earth, "Y/N!!"

He spent hours looking everywhere, even slammed himself through the warding of the bunker, and checked everyone of its rooms, only when he couldnt find her there either did he crumple to the floor in their library.

The winchesters and several Angel's as well as God and amara, who had been visiting, followed him around trying g to get him to speak. Finally dean yells.

"What the fuck do you want asshole!"

"Not here...shes not here...y/n..."his body shakes and then he breaks, they all look upon him in shock as the great Lucifer begins to sob into the floor. "My mate...shes gone...I need her.."

Gabriel and sam are the first to react, "what do you mean she/y/n is gone!!"

"I woke up this morning and she was just gone. I looked everywhere, I cant feel her soul...only our bond...was she tired of me??"

Chuck was worried for his son, this behavior was not like him, "no she hasn't left you son...I made her for you...please calm down so we can think of a way to help her something is obviously not right with this."

Michael snorts, "father is correct. Now stop acting like a fledging and get off the floor, my rebellious little brother does not cry like a child. He rips apart the people who dare take his things away."

Everyone gathers in the war room and they start planning, they have been talking for hours when Lucifer receives it...a prayer.

"Y/n! Shes praying....." they group watches as his relief turns into anger and hatred.."asmodeus!"

Sam was confused, "what about him, gabriel turned his ass to dust"

"Apparently not, now come on let move. I will not wait to find her any longer." Before any of them could make an argument there surroundings had changed and they were now, in a falling apart warehouse. Two demons were mid argument and they could see y/n strapped to a metal chair, her belly rounder than ever.

The demons notice there presence first and attempt to escape their vessels but castiel and balthazar are quick to react and grab them.

Gabriel and lucifer make there way to y/n and begin untieing her. "Its ok mate..Ive got you"

"Bout time luce, my back was getting sore," her smile filled him with relief.

"They didnt hurt you did they, they pay if they have."

"No, I am fine, jack is strong, he smited anyone that got to close."

Everyone looks upon her in confusion, "jack??"

You just giggle, "call it mothers intuition, its totally a boy." Lucifer face lights up and he picks her up out of the chair. He is ready to lead her out of the ware house when you freeze midstep.

...

"Lucifer..."

"Hmmm..what is it"

"My water just broke" every one in the room looks at me in horror and Lucifer goes into a full panic.

'What!? Now...no.." he leans down to her belly, "you cant come put now, y/n cant you just hold it."

"It doesnt work that WAY! NOW GET ME OUT OF HERE" Lucifer quickly lifts her in his arms and flys her to the bunker, everyone else follows suite cas bringing the winchesters.

When the others arrive, chuck and Lucifer had already entered your old room with you, they can here you yell and curse Luce out through the door.

They spend the next half hour waiting in the war room for any sort of news.

Top 50 Albums of 2019

1. Grace Ives - 2nd

Slamming, kicking, pasting, tanning, beautifying, punching you in the gut. No songs over 3 minutes, short-terse-dancy songs that fucking bang due to sheer bedroom anthemic production. So wry and glib but intelligent and sensitive and adorable.

2. Faye Webster - Atlanta Millionnaires Club

Best ever breakup album of the year! Of all time. Lovely, lovely, lovely vocals.

3. Sharon Van Etten - Remind me Tomorrow

So sweet and intelligent, each song a captivating masterpiece. I love her voice, which has a sadness and depth to it but her lyrics make you stop what you’re doing and pay attention. Stunning album.

4. Cate le Bon - Reward

Genius lyricist possibly in the way of Joni Mitchell’s wit, beauty and sarcasm!! I love her voice and her guitars.

5. Julia Jacklin - Crushing

Each song is like a novel, increasingly revelatory and suspense-filled, but also lovely vocally and totally immersive.

6. Purple Mountains - Purple Mountains

This is the hardest review of the year to write and still i am wavering.

7. Big Thief - U.F.O.F

8. Weyes Blood - Titanic Rising

Another Joni-alike in the way of Cate le Bon, but also, adding this unique, acerbic analysis on subjects like ageing, improving yourself, gaining knowledge - subjects that interest me.

9. Sneaks - Highway Hypnosis

Such good rave music, but with wit and intelligence in the lyrics. Metallic and cool synth sounds with great warmth to her post-punk-spoken word-soul-disco-r&b vocals similar to ESG. Gutted I missed her play Glasgow last Feb due to working night shift.

10. Sault - 5

Such a mystery to me how we don’t know the band members and the anonymity is so intriguing because this music is magnificent California soul, hip hop infused and beautiful vocals all mixed together. Listenable yet intricate multi-instrumentalist tracks straight out of a 70s or future-film, can I place it? No, I guess this is postmodernism and we haven’t quite hit peak saturation as I am finding such beauty in all this new music.

11. Maria Somerville - All My People

Sparse and dense, dark and light, such space on the vocals. Morbid and quiet yet warm and life-affirming. I love this new female soundscape stuff!! Power artists right now - Maria Somerville and Carla dal Forno, also Grouper as always - since 2006 who evolves completely with these new sounds.

Gorgeous vocals and lyricism. I can’t stop thinking how there is some Elliott Smith intelligence and beauty in the vocals and similar depth and clarity but honestly how can anyone compare favourably with Elliott Smith?

Earnest, reflective, filled with narrative and observation I like.

20. American Football - American Football

Classy, delicate, self-aware. Female vocal tracks (Hayleigh Williams, Rachel Goswell and Elizabeth Powell!!!!!) are exquisite.

21. Eartheater - Trinity

Where do I start? Vocally sublime - some of the best vox I’ve heard in my life. Coupled with orchestral, trip-hop and synth sampling that add this lightness and buzzing music Lyrically - empowered and intelligent but also some grunge and cool sounding hooks. Could be cold and disorienting but it really works due to the strength of the vocals and lyrics.

22. Equip - Cursebreaker X

So trippy and East/West and future/past sounds merging, being broke apart, sewn together and played all at once. This is post-modernist, meta and self-aware. This is what I imagine people listen to in Blade Runner, or insert future society here, want to say utopian though, because people will be loving all the vaporwave.

Should be a lot higher up but honesty I’ve been playing it to death my interest might be waning. Venice Bitch was one of my favourite songs last year, so that’s how long some of the tracks have been embedding themselves.

Oh Lana, there is so much to like. Hyper-femininity, low and high notes, the old Hollywood feel to the lyrics on loving passionately and being adored, desire, jealousy etc.

28. Teen Body - Dreamo

Shout out to Negative Gemini’s brother being in this band. I like the shoe gaze guitars and drums, male/female vocal interplay (swwooooon, this is a winning combination seen in MBV, Slowdive and Jorge Elbrecht tracks I like so much). Nice lyrics, they’ve done a neat job on being intellectually interesting, but also narratively alluring, hedonistic and simplistic. (I like simplicity sometimes).

Bass bass bass. Yes. But then vocal perfection and introspection. I am loving feminist narratives that are so well-produced and going to influence a whole generation of women in the way TLC and Destiny’s Child did - because ultimately they make great songs that appreciate kissing while asserting the right to a respectful relationship and are completely danceable and dark and light all at the same time.

Oh lord, this description is garbled but I feel like a lot of feminists will know what I am talking about - it’s like yes looking good, feeling desire and being desired is extremely pleasant but so is being respected and valued and the two are not mutually exclusive and we should be demanding better lives for our women rather than hanging in the shadows while men take up all the space (!!!)

I really liked this album due to various tracks with ace production sounding like shoegaze combined with pop and r&b and some excellent samples from 60s gal groups and soul musicians. Ariana’s vocals are lovely and lift the tracks into absolutely ballin’ and relevant tracks.

Her voice, her lyrics. Would be a lot higher up, but it’s just not clicking yet.

Lark is the standout track, her voice so quivery and clear and certain all the time. It depicts a sad song, “when we thought what we had was such a good thing”. How her voice soars out so high. I don't think anyone at the moment (maybe Lana if reaching) can do a high note as certain, uncertain and emotionally charged as Angel.

My thoughts on Voltron Season 2

So I’ve now watched the whole season 2 times, and I have a shit ton of thoughts about it. Obviously, super spoiler-y and pretty long. Under the read more.

By episodes, kind of

First of all,

Pidge is a beautiful tech genius and I love my daughter so much

I mean, she was able to transmit her lion’s signal to the castle out of junk??? Actual garbage??? Genius.

Shiro has the most millenial kind of humor - joking about his gaping wound??? Calm the fuck down sir

Coran had a Major Alex Armstrong phase and it was amazing

HE HAS THE MUSTACHE AND THE HAIR CURL

Seriously, did you see those arms??? Coran is ripped as fuck

He also had an emo teenage phase and it was the funniest thing ive ever seen

Underwater episode!!!!

I would like to thank not only God but also Jesus for the entire episode of nothing but Hunk and Lance moments.

So now we finally know how Shiro escaped and i have mixed feelings about it

Also, I want to quickly talk about how I’ve seen people saying that Allura is being “racist” towards the Galra??? Um, how???

They literally annihilated her home planet and countless others, enslaving nations, and killing all of her family save Coran?

I think bitterness, distrust, and pure hatred are to be expected.

I can say with 100% certainty that I would act the same way towards them, maybe even worse, and if you say you wouldn’t, I don’t trust you

This ep was good for the audience as a whole to show that all Galra are not the same, and there are those who work against him

Also good for the younger paladins to see, as their interactions with the Galra have mainly been very negative

They are more open to the idea of “good Galra”, though they have less reasons to not be, as opposed to Allura

I am living for the Pidge character growth in Greening the Cube tbh, my baby girl is amazing

Also Lance confirmed for skincare junkie I love my son

I almost cried laughing at the half-naked Klance scene

It’s exactly like the scene from Emperor’s New Groove and I could not stop seeing them as Pacha and Kuzco

That’s not my Hunk a dunk saving the day on Taujeer?? But it is!!!

I love him so much

Also, really uncomfortable with the whole Keith and Allura “bonding stuff”

Like I get it, but it was handled very... interestingly

I dunno, it made me feel awkward

I feel like Keith is handled more like an adult in this particular season than Hunk and Lance, who are all the same age.

I’ll touch on this more in a bit, but I love that the Commander in this episode had more of a personality. You really got a feel on what kind of a Galra soldier he was, especially compared to the strictly cutthroat Galra like Sendak that we’ve dealt with in the past.

Let Allura get something sparkly goddammit

Alfor was in that picture with young Coran!!!!

So many theories about the origin of Voltron, and now we know that Alfor made the Black Lion which is both awesome and thought provoking

Did he make the others?

Did he choose the other pilots?

What exactly happened with Zarkon?

What happened to the other pilots???

I loved Hunk in this episode. He has been making a lot (too many in my opinion) of comments about food, but seeing him honestly enjoy cooking and enjoy the reactions people had to his food made me happy

So, uh, where’s the cow now?

We had some high quality Lance and Pidge interaction in this episode that I loved to bits

I also really enjoy the characterizations that the writers have been doing for the Galra

Like Sal, and Farkon seemed more like actual people and we could connect to them??? It was just great and started blurring the lines between good and bad even more

Also, “Farkon: Mall Cop” was hilarious

So many movie references I die

Also: Trans girl Pidge??? Trans girl Pidge!!!

Now, *cracks knuckles* onto The Blade of Mamora

Keith you are the main reason I stress, please just calm the fuck down

“Shiro, you’re like a brother to me.” *longest yeah boi ever*

So Thace isn’t Keith’s dad, but Keith’s dad low-key looks like Shiro???

His mom was Galra??? Who the fuck??

We have never seen any female Galra (as far as we know)?

(Especially considering that Haggar isn’t Galra, or at least not a pure one)

Can someone please get this boy some medical attention? My heart rate is rising by the second

“The only way this is possible, is if Galra blood runs through your veins” *longest yeah boi ever*

There are so many unanswered questions holy fuck

Okay so next we get some quality bonding time between Hunk and Keith which is amazing

Honestly i love the two of them

Why did Hunk have to be sleep during the whole plan?? Let him be smart and contribute to the plan goddammit!!!

We get to see how chill Hunk really is with Galra Keith

But we don’t get to see how everyone else reacted to it.

How did Shiro react? How about Lance? Pidge?

We know Allura is pissed af, but what about Coran??? He went through the exact same things she did, but he’s cooler about it

if he’s being the more mature one and is able to look past it to still accept and love Keith, he should be talking to Allura about it, and be her advisor/second father

Again, I’m annoyed about how dismissive Allura is to Keith, but SHE HAS A JUSTIFIABLE REASON

AGAIN, how did CORAN react????

I really want to know who that Galra soldier was that Keith rescued

What if it was Matt or something? He probably wouldn’t have recognized either Keith or Hunk and he didn’t say anything

Or what if that was Keith’s mom?

Possibilities man

Haha, fart jokes

Seriously, why didn’t we get to see everyone else’s reactions?

Jailbreak episode!

Okay, Slav (or whatever it is) is THE most annoying thing ever, just had to get it out of the way

Shiro was reacting exactly how I would have

Honestly, Shiro was overall so relatable in this episode

We get information on Matt! It’s not alot but hey

Now we get to dive even deeper into theories about him joining a rebel group, since they saved him

Would not be surprised if(again) the person Keith saved ended up being Matt on some kind of rebel mission

Let’s talk about Lance in this episode. Got some quality content however

We were led to believe that there would be some sort of season long sub-plot dealing with Lance’s insecurities (or at least something longer than half an episode)

So when he had his doubts immediately cleared it was kind of lackluster because of expectations

Of course, this could be explored again in a later season. Since this one was very Keith-centric, maybe the next might focus more on other paladins? I could see this as being something that would be brought up later on

I guess we can’t be having too much angst at one time

I thought it was really cute how that Galra Commander (listen I can’t remember all these names) had a pet???

And he saved it when the air locks were opened???

So precious

Again with the bringing actual personalities to characters that we are supposed to view as “bad” or “evil”, good job team

Whoo-hoo, Allura solo mission time!!!

I feel like the skype call she had with Coran could have been a good time for them to discuss Galra Keith but what do i know

Uh, you guys obviously don’t understand how this stuff works; of course the universe will still need Voltron after Zarkon is gone

it was a nice moment of Allura admitted that she was wrong to judge, so I did appreciate that

I really wish Thace could have like joined the group, and, you know, survived, but whatever

I also wish he had ended up being Keith’s father, but, you know, whatever

He was cool

When are we gonna learn more about the druids??

Are they all Galra soldier who were born using magic?

Or does Haggar hand-pick soldiers that she wants as druids, and gives them her magic??

Or are all Galra capable of some kind of magic?

I really just wanna know

I love magic like Pidge loves sciene

I am such a sucker for all of the backgrounds in this season

Whenever someone says “it’s the only way” I always wonder if it really is the only way

I mean, is it really though?

This is the second time someone has said that their life is most expendable than the life of a paladin of Voltron

I think it’d be interesting to have this line start haunting one of the paladins, maybe like Hunk or Lance, because I feel that they’re the most empathetic of the group

Maybe lead to future angst about being a paladin

How did Haggar not die from the explosion? She was RIGHT THERE

Or at least, make her injured

She seemed A-OK

Maybe she was able to teleport away in time

What powers that little platform that Zarkon is suspended on?

If the ship is off, shouldn’t that just... float away or something?

How did the wormhole blow up all of the smaller ships?

Man it sure is a good thing that the entirety of Zarkon’s ship castle thing has absolutely no prisoners on it all

Otherwise they’d most certainly be dead!

Allura didn’t seem to know much about it or how it would affect her

OVERALL

I think Hunk and Lance, and to a point, Coran, were severely underdeveloped

I mean, Hunk had fantastic development last season, and had moments to showcase his smartness, but I feel like he was just the foodie and the guy who’s always sleeping this season

And again, I did want to see more about Lance’s insecurities, and his relationships with the other paladins, but if the next season focuses more on that, I’m fine with waiting

I feel like, all jokes and funniness aside, there’s a lot to Coran that we have not been able to see yet

The whole Keith is Galra thing would have been a perfect way to learn more about Coran based on how he reacted to it, but we only see how Allura reacts to it.

GALRA KEITH IS AWESOME but seriously??? Where is the scene that he tells everyone? Where are their reactions? You can’t seriously expect me to believe that the only person who feels bitter is Allura?

What about Pidge? Her family has been kidnapped by the Galra? You can’t tell me that she was weirded out by Keith for at least an hour or so??

Hunk and Lance, again, as I think they are the most empathetic, probably would get over the shock fairly quickly

Same for Shiro, because even though he was tortured by the Galra, he knows Keith (how he knows Keith we still don’t know) and probably was able to overlook it more easily

Coran should have acted the same way Allura did, or he should have talked to her. I’ve said this a million times, and I’ll keep saying it.

This season was overall very good for Keith’s development (which I loved, I love him) and it brought up new questions and a shocking cliffhanger

I just feel that there were some things that could have been dealt with better.

And I’m probably still missing some thoughts, but whatever.

Something to keep in mind, as it has been pointed out to me, that this season was most likely written and made well before the hype for Season 1 was in existence, so it’s more likely that Season 3 is going to be even more of what we want, now that they have an idea of the fanbase.
