How successful do you think Fellow would be? Honestly part of me thinks he might get beaten up by Jester!Yuu in a kinda slapstick style for bringing a bad name to funny little silly guys

Let me answer that with this

Circus Jem

Fellow tries to claim a new attraction.

Fellow felt very lucky. Very lucky indeed that such a perfect doll waltzed right in.

One so perfect they looked as if they belonged already, no need to dress them up.

Sure the others that came along were just a bonus now that they brought such a gift.

Their face was painted porcelain with a golden star and pastel lips. All dolled up in ribbons and bells. Their clothes were designed to look like the wearer had been pulled from a circus poster.

He could already see those lovely ribbons pulled taunt like puppet strings.

Fellow watched his prey flit from attraction to attraction their charm sending waves of excitement through the other patrons.

They gathered and praised their looks and asked for pictures and took videos. The little clown juggled and danced doing tricks on the merry-go-round.

A mascot. Yes! They were perfect to play that part.

Fellow waited until the little one had separated from the group that fawned over them like a beloved toy. He even laughed at that thought knowing he would steal it from them.

"Are you enjoying your day here?" He asked leaning over the entertainer.

"Absol-tully! I love it here!" They practically chirped.

"And your group? Where are they?" He asked examining his prize more closely. They were in good condition, no visible marks at least.

"Oh, I wanted to get some cotton candy. Villy would never let me have any. But it's my favorite treaty." They whined their lower lip poked out.

Fellow felt an arrow in his chest. He understood why the clown was dotted on. Their strange speech pattern and childish mannerisms could draw anyone in.

"You poor thing. Why don't you come with me. I show you the best candy stall in the park. I won't tell a soul what you did." He said taking the jester by the hand. "

He led them away deeper into the heart of the park.

"I hope you don't mind me saying this but you fit in quite well here. It's a shame you won't be staying longer. You've really brightened this humble park." Fellow said in sorrow.

"I know! This place is just so cozy but also cold. Chilly but no cheese! It feels like home though." They said. Fellow didn't get the meaning behind those words.

" I could use your help to change that. You could stay here. I promise you'll love it. Fun and games every day and an adoring crowd to perform for every night. You would always fit in among the others. All the cotton candy you want and no one to tell you no." Fellow lead the clown to a special room away from the park. A space with a lovely cage just for his new doll.

"Em. No, thanks! I'm not just some clown you know. I'm a jester! As such I need my people. As long as they're happy I'm happy too. But I can't make them happy if I'm far far away. That would make me super sad." They said agast "Hey wait. This isn't the candy place."

"Unfortunately for you, it's not. But don't worry my precious doll. I bring you some to decorate your new cage." Fellow laughed as he raised his staff.

Only for it to be knocked form his hand.

"You lied! You aren't Honest at all. In fact, you aren't even fun. That makes me mad! And I hate being mad!" The jester growled as they grabbed the fox by the front of the shirt.

Fellow struggled to get out of the iron grip.

"Hey wait! I-" He tried to say.

"I'm bored. You're boring me with the flip-flapping of your lips. Now you have to take responsibility and entertain me funny man."

The group was in chaos. They had lost Yuu!

There was no telling where they went. Were they kidnapped?! That clown has no survival instincts and no sense of fear at all.

Lilia suggested they ask if anyone had seen them after all a brightly dressed jester is hard to miss.

And lucky them they found their missing clown standing on a stage with Fellow's staff in hand.

"Come one come all! And see a wonderful show! See the disgrace that is the Fallen Ringmaster! Watch him dance upon my strings!" Yuu commanded the fox to do tricks like a dog. "Jump Fellow! Now Speak! Jump through the hoop and don't get burned!"

The audience was losing it as they laughed at the foolish display. Honest seemed to be under some sort of hypnotic spell but was still fully aware of his torment.

Yuu figured out the staff was a magic tool to control people. They were such a smart cookie.

Unfortunately, the spell didn't last long as Fellow regained his body and turned to attack the little clown.

The group charged the stage to stop him only for-

*CRACK*

Yuu stood there holding a broken staff-well stick in their hands after they swung it full force across Fellow's head.

The fox went down with a thud after getting a definite concussion.

"Oopies!" The jester giggled, bashfully hiding the bloodied staff behind their back.

Story 01 (October 24th, 2022)

Dire Crowley gather everyone to lecture hall on important announcement. Night Raven College want to proposal exchange students with "Noble Bell College" in "Flower Town". Same like how we do exchange our school held festival open house for new students. Lilia says, Noble Bell College is much "Older" school than Night Raven College. Which means it's almost 100 years this school in long history. Noble Bell College also same like Royal Sword Academy and Night Raven College, they choose a right talented students by magic mirror. But now, they need NRC help on negotiate for larging add students in their place. They also want to invite all Night Raven College students to special Masquerade party. A Important tradition for the founder of Noble Bell College. But, Dire Crowley will do Lottery box game. Only 10 students who allowed to go there.

Grim did begging Dire Crowley to join tour visit to that place. As long Grim keep his behaviour, so he let Grim and MC join tour visiting to Noble Bell College. They only stay in NBC for 3 days 2 nights. Funny is, Dire Crowley invite Malleus to join, beside Silver and Sebek. Crowley saying that the council students of Noble Bell College want Malleus to participate, it is a honor to meet Diasomnia leader. Malleus, Azul, Idia, Riddle, Jamil, Ruggie, Rook, Epel, Deuce, Silver, and Sebek is chosen students who's go to Noble Bell College place. They surprise MC and Grim will join this tour too. But Malleus seems happy see MC joining to Noble Bell College along Deuce and Epel.

Crowley did whisper to MC, "Maybe there'll be a clue for you to find how you can return to your home world." And surprisingly Mozus Trein will be their guidance to accompany them. Funny is, Lucius, Mozus-sensei cat, whimpers if he left him alone. But Crowley will take care him.Once everyone already teleport to Noble Bell College, Rollo is already there and welcoming everyone to his college. As appreciation everyone receive their invitation, Rollo lead them to touring around Noble Bell College.

Peculiar moment is Rollo knows well on Azul, Idia, and Malleus. But whenever he see Malleus, he always cover his nose with handkerchief. Maybe feel uncomfortable see Malleus's looks. Malleus understand and didn't feel bother at all, although Idia little suspicious too.One by one Rollo knows everyone, but he keep think Grim is MC's familiar pet. Rollo did little tease that he can't believe Grim be part as Students NRC even he's a little beast with magic.

Rollo also talk to MC and seems understand that MC doesn't have magic skills. But he is praise MC's work for NRC as Prefect with the headmaster. He wishes MC to take a rest and relax in his Noble Bell College. He also heard all event happens in NRC about how MC doing in there.

Now, they're going to statue of Founder famous wizard Noble Bell College, Frollo. All students in here always cleanliness, he means cleanliness of environment, society, and everyone's heart away from unclean negative aura. They believe of Purity and Integrity. Mozus Trein explain about the Statue of Noble Bell College, “The Jester Judge. A judge who is said to have once existed in the city of flowers.He was very fair and always made the right decisions. A great man on par with the Great Seven.”

“It is said that even when the city was about to be taken over by villains, he returned peace to the city through fair judgment. Everyone who lives in the city of flowers respects him.” Rollo added to Mozus Trein explanation. Mozus Trein seems enjoy this moment see all his students have first time touring in Noble Bell College.

“Bell of Salvation” , a special tool magic of Noble Bell College. “It's an important magic tool, so I didn't get to see it, but my wife was impressed by how beautiful it sounded.” Mozus added. Is like a special magic bell same magic with Dark Mirror.

Added Insults

Changing a form a media like a movie, video game or TV show into another language involves both translation and localization.

Localization involves intentionally changing the content of the game, show or movie, in order to better appeal to the new target market.

In Disney’s “Zootopia,” for example, four different news anchor characters were created and inserted into the movie depending upon the area it was targeted to. While a moose for North America, the character was a Tanuki for the movie’s Japan release, a panda for the China release and a koala for the Australian version of the movie. This happens most often with jokes, as humor can vary wildly from culture to culture.

In Twisted Wonderland, Vil makes a disparaging joke on the JP server about Leona, asking if he is certain that he is a prince and not actually an egg.

One of the ways that the word “egg” can be written in Japanese looks visually very similar to the kanji for “prince,” so Vil is making a Japanese-language joke, saying that Leona might just get mistaken for a prince by those who do not look closely enough, which follows Vil’s habit of simultaneously complimenting Leona’s appearance while insulting everything else about him. And this is impossible to translate into the English language.

To get around it, the English-language adaption of the game rewrote Vil’s dialogue for a joke about jesters. And this is perfect localization.

If you have ever wondered, “Why was this dialogue changed so completely from what the character originally said?,” often times the answer will be, “For you, because the producers thought that you would enjoy this version more than the original.”

There have also been insults introduced to the English-language version of Twisted Wonderland. This is possibly because, in Japanese, rudeness is often portrayed via verb forms, personal pronouns and honorifics (or lack thereof). As this cannot be portrayed in English, the English-language adaptation often chooses to add name calling, instead.

The prefect, for example, originally does not call Grim a jerk. They merely say that he talks loudly in his sleep.

Ace, originally, does not call Grim a sentient pile of lint.

Ace, originally, does not call Riddle a numbskull.

Cater never calls Trey “mom,” and does not accuse him of nagging.

Cater also never calls Trey a nerd.

Trey never comments about boa feathers to Vil.

Jade does not say, “Silly ghost.”

Leona does not call Malleus a recluse.

Leona does not call the fairies stupid.

Leona does not ask if he needs to spell out a situation in crayon.

Leona does not call Ace and Riddle, “freaks.”

Leona does not tell Silver to come back once he wakes up, or better yet, don’t.

Ruggie does not call Jack a “protein-addled muscle freak” who nips at his heels and begs for advice.

Jack does not call Deuce a chicken.

Rook does not use the feminine form of the French word “idiot” to insult Leona.

Lilia does not make a comment about Vil’s “pretty little head.”

Hellllo Besties! I'm here to share my TWST Ocs \(≧▽≦)/

Ge ready for a long bit of reading friends!

Background info to know so you don't get confused about Alken: Alken is a god from TWST. He was banished to Yuu's world by the other gods after getting in a fight with his brother and killing him. Alken ruled over Yuu's world for hundreds upon thousands of years (He was a very bad god) until he fell in love with a human that so happens to be Yuu's ancestor. Unfortunately for Alken Yuu's ancestor despised him and wanted to end him no matter what. Yuu's ancestor was able to kill Alken's living form and send it back to Twisted wonderland so Alken wouldn't be able to heal it. Alken was trapped as a spirit watching his love and killer live on with a happy family.

They trained him and taught him all about the human body. At the science organization (H.M.B.R: human mind and body research) they did lots of unethical and messed up experiments to research the human body and mind, Doney will not speak of his time there and what he did. Doney's personality: he's usually quite cold to people (Except for Yuu), he's incredibly smart, quite sarcastic, is sweet when he REALLY gets to know people, smoll bean

Body: he has a fair bit of muscle on his body

Likes: Astronomy, fluffy pillows to nap on, tormenting the souls of mortals that have insulted him

Dislikes: mortals insulting him, sweet foods, the monsters his father makes, people calling him short

Info: Kasche is the god of death, he is the son of Alken and a goddess who is not known yet. His current lore is that he believes Yuu is the Goddess of life and fertility he also believes that the goddess of life and the god of death should be together

(Note to self: You need to put more info for him, like seriously)

(Of course Yuu got to Twisted wonderland like the perfect but just slightly different so I explain how both Donnie and Yuu got there)

How Yuu got to Twisted wonderland: Yuu was out picking berries for a pie when she tripped on a rock and was sent flying off a cliff. Yuu passed out which let Alken take hold of her body. Using Yuu's body Alken opens a portal to Twisted wonderland (His original domain) to find his damaged body but Yuu is able to exile Alken from her body. Yuu being very weak from Alken taking over her body passes out on the side of the road where the black carriage picks her up and takes her to NRC.

How Donnie got to TWST: (When Alken used Yuu's body to enter TWST he was unable to close it since Yuu exiled him from her body before he could so that's how Donnie enters TWST) There’s a big explosion outside the school. Crowley goes to investigate and finds a young boy around 14 years old with brown hair. Crowley takes the boy to the infirmary. Crowley tells the dorm leaders (and Yuu) about the boy. They all go to the infirmary (Yuu drags Grim, Ace, and Deuce) the young boy is awake but you can’t really see his face because of bandages. Once he sees Adeuce he starts to freak out. The young boy tries to attack Adeuce but is held back by one of the dorm leaders. Yuu realizes that the boy has the same heart scare that is on his ankle as hers and takes off the bandages to see Donnie’s face all scratched up. Yuu tears up and gently hugs Donnie. All the guys are confused till Yuu explains that Donnie is her brother.

Back story: Yuu and Donnie did come from a loving family. Their father would take them camping all the time (which led Yuu to have a pretty good survival instinct) and their mother would always make cookies for them, you know normal family stuff. It seemed like a perfectly amazing family but one day the father found out Donnie actually wasn't his kid and that Yuu's mother had cheated on him with another man which got her pregnant with Donnie. Yuu's father got drunk and killed her mother in a drunken rage. Yuu's father realized what he did and quickly hid the body (Yuu saw it all). The day after, Yuu's father takes Donnie and her out for a "Fun family camping trip like usual". It seemed normal till at midnight Yuu's father rolled a tarp out and placed a sleeping 6 year old Donnie onto it. Yuu's father grabs his gun and hands it to Yuu whom he had woken up once he placed everything together. Yuu's father tells her to shoot Donne but she refuses with a terrified look on her face. Yuu's father tries to angrily grab the gun from Yuu but she keeps tugging it away, after a bit of tugging Yuu accidentally pulls the trigger shooting her father in the head and killing him. Yuu, terrified of what she did (She's 8 at the time) grabs supplies and places a blanket over her father's head. Yuu wakes up Donnie and pulls him along into the forest without showing him their Father. (While running Donnie scrapes his knee) After a long while of running the two siblings come upon a cleared out area of the forest that has rocks lined up in a circular in some sort of ritual-like way. A tall man dressed as a jester approaches the two, he offers some food which the two hungerly scarf down as the man magically heals Donnie's scrape. The man offers a place to stay at “his” cabin, Yuu accepts and the man takes the two to his cabin. In the cabin the two siblings see pictures of clowns performing in the circus. The jester-like man offers for the two to stay longer if they're willing to help him. The two agree and shake the man's hand, the two feel a painful burning sensation on their bodies. A small red heart appears on the back of Yuu's neck while a red heart forms on Donnie's ankle. The man then introduces himself as Alken, the god of chaos and mischief. Yuu raises Donnie in the cabin but Alken sometimes helps too. When aloud, Alken can sometimes possess the two's bodies like puppets. After a long time Yuu is now 16 and she goes out to pick berries for a pie. She trips over some rocks and tumbles down a steep hill and passes out, once she wakes up she is now in TWST.

Other lore of the back story: Yuu used to live in a village that would kill people that were found to be "Witches" (Think of the witch trials in America during the 1800's). When Yuu was five some of the community accused her family of being witches since they used herbs to heal and believed in many gods the just one like the towns folk. They chased Yuu's family out of the village and into the forest. Yuu's mother had just given birth to a little girl who was terrible deformed which caused her a lot of breathing problems and since Yuu's mother had just given birth she was extremely weak and couldn't run far. The towns folk were able to catch up. Yuu's pleaded with the villagers that had chased his family to let them go. The villagers however did not listen to his please but instead said they'd leave them alone if Yuu's father gave the new born baby (They called the baby a monster since they thought she was a hell spawn) to them and never returned. Yuu's father did as the villagers demanded and gave them the baby. Yuu's family left to leave in a cottage in the woods after that. a few years later when Yuu was seven she and Donnie snuck back into the village to go to a fair. even though they both wore masks and disguises they were found out and given the "Witches mark" which was a hot brand that marked them as witches. The village would give "Witches" the witches mark to show someone was accused of being a witch. The villagers would give "found witches" a "Second chance to be purified in the eyes of god and ridden of the devil's trickery" but even if that rare chance they would still be treated worse then slaves or servants.

• You guys had initially met in an online PvP during both of your free time one night and after an exchange of messages via the chat server, you gathered each other's other contact information. Even better that you both were in the same school! (Even though we all know that this fae be too old for school xD)

• There was quite a few months in the friendship phase before this developed into anything more. After all, Lilia is an old fae, he has had his few share of turns around the block in his lifetime. Once it was 100% certain on both sides about how the both of you felt and that this was no fleeting fling, that's when things became official.

• He was rather traditional about it at first . Sending handwritten letters back and forth, small gifts and flowers, anything that matched your style, which he absolutely loved about you. (But for the sake of your health, never let this fae cook for you)

• Your style? As stated above, he LOVES it. You can bet he loves seeing you dressed up in it and he would absolutely buy himself a few pairs to match with you.

• You can certainly bet that he loves to spend time with you. It's It's better as it's your receiving love language. Because this fae will often not leave you alone. He knows that time is something that may or may not be on your guy's side (depending on if you're human or not), and with how long he has been around, he appreciates the time that he has to be with you.

• He loves every little gift that you've given him and he certainly keeps them all located on a very special shelf in his room. If it's any clothing, he will often be even wearing it. This fae is not at all shy.

• He finds your knowledge in the medical field to be rather impressive. He was a war general, he has fought in many battles and has seen many various injuries and sicknesses. He has seen healers asn doctors work to save their patients and he found it extremely admirable no matter the side. Dedicying your life to help another, he finds it a respectable position and he is rather supportive of you.

• Going with the above points, he is OLD. He knows this, most of those in his dorm and on campus know this. He has seen things that are described in history books that happened centuries ago, he was there! Who else better js there to defend your love of history than a fae who has wuite literally lived through and experienced so much of it?

• Now, just because you're dating doesn't mean you're safe from his pranks. He still loves to be able to scare you by literally flying out of nowhere. It's all a part of a fun.

• Overall, you make him feel so young again, reliving his youth. He cherishes the time that the two of you have with one another and he would do anything if it meant your happiness

(Because I'm back, yk it had to happen sooner or later lol. I've also found myself acquiring a taste for Lilia recently, so this is for him! Platonic, but on like, best friend status, but also kinda taking the place of yuu?)

"Don't take this question too seriously, but do you have a favorite child? Like, out of Malleus, Silver, and Sebek? I know it's way different for you as an actual father, but dealing with those 1st years* is like dealing with children, but I definitely have a favorite haha!"

*(context, I mean Ace, Deuce, Jack, Epel, Grim, and Sebek)

Lilia chuckles, "Would you believe me if I said I didn't have a favorite?", he winks at you and vaguely smiles.

"And if you ever need some help handling the first years, you're free to come by and ask for help! I'm sure my cooking can help them calm down somehow. It's happened many times before, after all!"

Little did Lilia know that his cooking was so bad, his kids have gone numb and/or fainted from the taste and just the smell of it. But what he didn't know wouldn't hurt anyone, would it? Actually, it would hurt many people but... at least you now have some way to get the first years to behave!

alright ive figured it out

so here's the plan, if meleanor hates humans then ill just have to become not human and then ill stand a chance with her

i've identified the key issues that will get in my way for asking meleanor's hand in marriage

1. Levan

He is not a problem because if i go according to the " lilia was in a polycule with these two and didnt know until it was too late " headcanon, then it means 1. levan might be willing to make space and include me in their polycule 2. even if he isn't it doesn't matter because the game made it so that he's out of the way already, by making him an absent husband.

2. Humanity

a major issue that i have thankfully found a solution to overcome. I will simply, turn into a nui. This not only give me cuteness points but it will also make me tiny so i stand a chance because (checks notes) she wouldn't smite an amusing little thing like me

3. Means of actually interacting with her

in order to get an audience with royalty without having silly responsibilities and actual important matters, like, say, be a general of briar galley with a duty to protect the country's royalty, i will simply opt for a better and more simple job. this job being, the court jester. that's right. i, kit, (or i guess Kyuu if you're talking about my yuusona), in my holy nui form freed from the shackles of humanity, will rizz up her highness with my humour and if i'm lucky enough she won't smite me on the spot and instead take a liking to me hopefully i think

Pros :

• i get to be with lady meleanor in her general presence

• i am granted the right to talk shit about the general of briar valley and get away with it

• i can make the princess laugh

Cons :

• if i fail to make her highness laugh she will smite me on the spot and my nui form, however holy it may be is unfortunately fragile and i shall crumble into dust

• her highness is probably going to toss me to the general when she does her thing in book 7. and then ill be part of the found family while simultaneously doomed to my tiny nui form for the next 700 years unable to scream for help

I was looking up Court jester and I got slap with court jester Yuu.Weather it's a dress up event or we going with a medieval au. Court jester had a close relationship with there kings and queens.

Just a court jester Yuu with knight Sebek just glaring at them well they tease there kings.

OMFGGG

Yuu having jester privileges and feeding Grim little nibbles of crackers and cheese after entertaining Malleus/Leona/Kalim. Sebek having beef with Yuu who just cracks jokes about it.

Lilia just vibing along with it probably jumping in with his own jokes probably, using the crowd as props.

Yuu being a clown is hilarious lmaoooo.

Can you IMAGINE the other dorms finding out that Yuu is a Jester, but only for Heartslaybul?

Vil would be envious as could be! He is practically the successor to the Beautiful Queen, but Yuu chose to be part of Riddle's court instead? Rook adored the beauty of performance regardless of the genre, but he would like to see Yuu in Pomefiore colors... Epel just thinks that the costume looks uncomfortable.

Leona doesn't give a damn beyond admiring the athleticism required, but Ruggie is eager to learn a few slight of hand tricks. Jack is just baffled by the costumes. Layers and colors and patterns all over, and the grease paint makeup? Not for him, thanks!

Kalim would love to have Yuu perform at a party or fifteen! Jamil just likes that Yuu can get away with mocking people to their faces, something he's almost envious of.

Azul, of course, sees profit! Every chance to customize costumes, ticket and food sales for a performance- he's already imagining ways to get a contract, but Jester Yuu is more clever than he thinks. The twins are fascinated, of course! You dress in a costume and get to do whatever you want, and even mock Riddle to his face without rebuke.

Idia thinks of Yuu like a video game character come to life! Always performing silly dances and making clever quips, often with some variation of their Jester gear and makeup, like extra costumes you can buy as DLC. Not to mention how Yuu can say and do practically anything in Heartslaybulwithout punishment. Ortho loves how colorful and cheerful Yuu is! He almost wants to ask big brother to make him a jester body so he can learn from them.

Diasomnia is a bit split. Sebek thinks Yuu's behavior is disgracefully inappropriate, and so disrespectful. Lilia considers Yuu a wonder! That Riddle child was too stiff, and Lilia remembers many court jesters with great fondness. Silver finds Yuu entertaining, but also tiring at times, and is almost wary of how perceptive they are... Malleus adores Yuu. Never afraid of him, always willing to speak your mind and treat him like any other. Fun and bright and endlessly energetic. Truly, if you grow bored of Rosehearts, then he would be more than happy to have you become the Jester of the Draconia family.

(Forgive me if this is too long, but I've been brain rotting about Jester Yuu for a week, lol)

Yes to all of this. I haven't finished my drafts due to lack of art (also I'm waiting for my new digital art pad to arrive)

Jester!Yuu is just a silly little fool. With bells and ribbons on their arms and legs.

Unfortunately due to the nature of being a court jester they can't just leave their court. It's in the name. Yuu can leave if they are sent to another court by the "Queen or King" though this is temporary.

Most of Yuu outfits are made to suit Riddle's court with hearts, clovers, diamonds, and spades decorating them. Most of their acts revolve around acts of tomfoolery and disregard for rules. Like pretending to be the queen of hearts and making silly demands and making things "disappear"

No matter what Riddle says getting him to give up his jester is more just difficult. You wouldn't either. If you had someone whose job is to make you smile and laugh you wouldn't let them go.

The only way to convince him would be to trick him or just kidnap Yuu.

Don't worry they don't mind. Do it. In fact, they like it. Don't ask them, just do it.

You don't have to force them to perform either.

Is it a bit twisted to want your very own jester to dance and sing for you? To be your little doll who dresses up in your image. To have them in your court where their smile and laughter is also yours.

Maybe, but look at what school this is. Seems fine and they don't care.

Wether its juggling, acrobatics, jokes, dancing, singing or even acting they can do it all.

There is also the weird underlying attractiveness of the jester. Maybe it was provocative and elaborate outfits. Maybe it was unique makeup that made their face like the most delicate porcelain.

It doesn't matter they like the attention and aren't above lounging on your lap just show how invincible they were.

You wouldn't hurt them. They are just a silly little clown. You wouldn't fight a silly willy little clown, would you? For shame.

For Malleyuu Week 2021

Day 3: Hurt or Comfort

This short fic is between my MC, Natalie Croft, and Malleus. Written in 3rd perspective from Malleus' POV.

This is slightly inspired by this idea

Malleus Draconia & Natalie Croft

"Natalie"

"Malleus," Natalie greeted him, smiling and waving "oh, you addressed me by my name which means this is gonna be a serious talk." She shook her head and adorned a faux serious expression.

After spending a long time together, Malleus started to pick up when Natalie was being playful, sarcastic or stern. While she was trying to humour him, she made a correct statement. What he intended to say was crucial for him.

"It is," He affirmed the gravity of the situation serenely. "I would be elated if you agree to meet my grandmother."

She tilted her head, furrowing her eyebrows. "I uh... What?"

"I told my grandmother everything about you. She requested to see you in person in order to get to know my special friend." Malleus clarified her confusion. That was right. He wrote about his special friend in his letter to his grandmother. All those moments they spent together, all the activities they did together and all the emotions she made him feel. She was truly a special friend as Lilia explained the type of relation he had with Natalie.

Her expression softened "Aww," she patted his arm, beaming at him, "thank you!" To his contempt, she withdrew her hand. "I'd love to meet her! When can I meet her?" Her excitement to meet his only relative was fluttering his heart gleefully.

"I will be going back to Valley of Thorns during spring break. It would be magnificent if you choose to accompany me."

"Of course!" Malleus was overjoyed to hear her response. "Oh wait!" She touched his shoulder before he apparated away, making eye contact. Her beautiful green eyes were glinting with mischief. "So you think I'm special?" She flipped her hair with her hand, a bright smile adorning her face before winking at him, making his heart skip a beat.

Malleus became accustomed to her teasing, in fact, he sometimes yearned for it since he knew she was that way only with the people she deemed close. However, right now he just needed to send a letter to his grandmother, notifying her that his special friend agreed to meet her during the break. Getting away from her question was just another perk. "Farewell, Natalie." He chuckled before apparating to his room.

The first day of spring break arrived in the blink of an eye for Malleus. Lilia and Silver were first going to go to Lilia's house in the forest, taking a break from knight duty while Malleus was already surrounded by multiple Royal Guards. Meanwhile, Sebek was going to stay with his parents even though he insisted to continue being his knight. Malleus knew that boy needed a break but was too proud to admit so he ordered him to spend time with his family.

Then there were just him, Natalie and Grim who would go to his palace. He had ordered a special room to be prepared for her and Grim, filling the room with her aesthetics and ordered the cooks to prepare her favourite meals. He wanted to impress her and show her a glimpse of the life she could have in Valley of Thorns. He also took Grim's preference into account as he knew Grim was holding a significant place in her heart.

"Nice," As Natalie's melodic voice filled the Magic Mirror room, Malleus started to get excited, yet showing a stoic expression on the outside. "Last time, students were going back to their homes, this place was like a circus."

"The others don't want to accidentally bump into me. Headmaster Crowley doesn't want the students to experience fear as they return home so he arranges my return home earlier than others." He explained casually.

"That's so cool! You won't get squashed between people and move freely!" Natalie added as she was pulling her 2 large baggage, clearly having a hard time with it. "Grim! Stop sitting on the case and help me push!" It was an amusing scene for Malleus but he didn't want her to force herself so he flicked his hand and her baggage started to float towards the Mirror. "Gosh, I wish I was able to do that!" He was always delighted to see her impressed by something he did or said. She looked around the room as if she was searching for something. "Where is your baggage?"

He chuckled, such a silly question, "I do not have any need to bring any of my stuff as I have everything I need in the palace." He then took a note of her baggages, it looked heavy in human standards as she was having a hard time moving it, knowing that she wasn't a weakling. "Do you plan to move in completely?" He had an opportunity to tease her so he had to take it.

"Oh my! You figured out my secret! How did you know?" She answered with the most exaggerated shocked expression he had ever seen. He knew she was only joking but a part of him wanted this to be the reality. He let out a small laugh to let her know that he understood her joke. "Okay, okay, I'll tell you. I have hidden a body there and I was planning to dump it in Valley of Thorns." So she wished to continue with her silly jester. "Fine, I'll tell ya. As you see, my clothing is different than usual." he nodded in agreement, he had noticed everything about her the moment she walked in. "I noticed that you cover your skin and I thought that it might be something cultural so as you see, I am covering more of my body. In my luggage, I have clothes in different styles that I'll wear if it is okay by Valley of Thorn's culture. I didn't want to be disrespectful towards you or your culture." His heart melted at that moment. She was sensitive towards his homeland and it was further proving that he chose the correct person. "Other than that I have my shoes, personal hygiene, feminine hygiene, ibuprofen, Grim's stuff, makeup, hair care products, hairdryer, hair curler, sunglasses, slippers, pyjamas and so on." He didn't expect a literal answer and was impressed by her dedication to her needs on vacation. Though, he didn't understand some of the items she listed.

"Since you have arrived, we can finally go." Malleus extended his hand towards Natalie, waiting for her to hold it as they went through the mirror. The second her hand touched his, grabbing it, Malleus felt a jolt run through his hand. He searched Natalie's face to see any reaction that would indicate she felt the same way but she was busy with holding Grim's paw and one of her luggages. He didn't want to wait any longer as he grabbed her other luggage and imagined his home before going through the mirror.

"Not gonna lie here, I'm nervous about meeting your grandma. I feel like I'll mess up and leave a bad image of me." Malleus somewhat understands her worry, his grandmother was the one who would give her blessing to their relationship and she was known as the fae with the highest standard.

"Do not worry, Natalie, my grandmother knows how dear you are to me." He tucked in a strand of her red hair behind her ear. He wanted to hold her face there and then but now was not the time. He placed her hand interwoven with his arm and signalled the guards to open the door.

"You didn't even tell me how I should address her!" She whispered hurriedly as two Royal Guards opened the door of the throne room with their magic. There were no usual guards inside the room. He assumed she wanted to meet his special friend privately. As they walked inside the room, the door was closed.

Malleus' grandmother was nowhere to be seen as they neared the Dragon Throne. Then suddenly, he felt a shift in the magic behind them, indicating that his grandmother had arrived. "Malleus, my dearest!" His grandmother opened his arms waiting for a hug. He didn't make her wait, he let go of Natalie and walked towards his grandmother, hugging her tightly.

"Good afternoon," He greeted her before turning towards Natalie, extending his hand toward her direction. "This is the one I talked about, Natalie Emilia Croft." He spoke proudly, the moment he had been waiting for had arrived.

However, something didn't go as he imagined. Natalie, the person who always had something to say was standing there like a statue, eyes wide and not moving. He could hear how fast her heart was beating and thought it must be the sheer excitement. "Natalie," She didn't give any reaction again so he took quick steps to near her. "Natalie," he tried once again, touching her shoulder and shaking delicately.

"Huh?" Natalie got out of her trance. "Oh..." She shook her head as if it would clear her thought. Then she giggled, putting her hand on his bicep lightly. A cute smile formed on her face as she looked up at him. "Malleus, you told me we would meet your grandmother," she then withdrew her hand and turned towards the other fae in the room, "You didn't tell me you had a sister!"

Malleus was confused, trying to understanding the situation. He could sense that his grandmother was as confused as him but she was the one that recovered first. "Sweet little human, your flattery will not work on me."

Natalie took a few steps towards his grandmother. "I was only telling what I see, a goddess on Earth-ah-Twisted Wonderland." Something was off with the way she spoke. Her voice tone and expressions were way different from the way she spoke with him. "I am so sorry. I was enthralled by your beauty that our introduction was cut short. I am Natalie Croft, a friend of Malleus from Night Raven Collage. Lovely to meet you!" Natalie extended her hand toward his grandmother for a handshake. He didn't even pay attention to what Natalie said about their relationship. All of his attention was focused on his grandmother, waiting for her reaction.

His grandmother didn't shake Natalie's hand. Instead, she lifted her eyebrow, scrutinizing her as if she was trying to decide if Natalie was lying. "I am Maleficent Draconia, the Queen of Valley of Thorns and Malleus' grandmother."

"I am sorry, I have no idea how I shall address you properly. Where I am from, we only used Queen Elizabeth or the Queen, I have never had a chance to speak directly! Oh boy, I'm speaking quickly but it's because I cannot contain my excitement to meet you." Maleficent was known as a strict person so he was worried that she would disapprove of Natalie now.

Luckily his worries were farse. Maleficent chuckled, "Is this how you charmed my grandson's heart, little human?" She asked, lifting an eyebrow.

"I'm 170 cm so I am not really little," Natalie let out a little laugh, "I wouldn't say I charmed his heart per se. He is my friend and I behaved the same way I behave towards my other friends. He and some other people mentioned that people are afraid of him but, to be honest, I've never seen Malleus do something that would make me fear him. Also..." Natalie was talking about him but he lost his focus the moment she said that he wasn't treated special. He could see the same confusion on his grandmother's face.

"Little girl!" Maleficent's voice boomed, he could feel her magic in the air. "Did you admit you treat the others the same way you treat my grandson?"

Natalie gulped, "Y-Yes..."

"So you admit you cheated on the person you are courting?" If things accelerated, he would step in between them. However, a part of him wondered the same question.

"Courting?" Natalie was confused. "I have read medieval setting books, I know that word." In all honesty, Malleus was impressed that she could form a coherent sentence in front of an angry Maleficent. "There is a misunderstanding. I am not courting Malleus or anyone. We are simply friends."

His grandmother calmed down as he heard Natalie sighing in relief. "Well then, we will converse again but first, Malleus," Maleficent looked at him, "Escort Natalie somewhere where you can have a private conversation. There is something you have to resolve." She apparated on her throne.

Malleus nodded, walked to Natalie's side, offered his hand. She held his hand once again and he ignored the sparks he was feeling this time. He apparated them to his rose garden before they sat on the bench. "Natalie," he started, "What did you mean back in the throne room?"

"Can you answer my question first?" She asked in the most sincere voice he had ever heard. He nodded in agreement. "Did you... tell your grandma that we are dating, I mean courting?"

"I could not contain my happiness and she loves to hear the changes in my life. I did write her letters mentioning all the activities we did for our courtship, you inviting me to places where only two of us are, us taking nightly strolls, you hugging me and kissing me."

"I- I only kissed your cheek as a thank you!" She answered apprehensively. Then took a deep breath. "You and I from different worlds and cultures that caused a misunderstanding to happen between us." She wasn't making any sense. Lilia told him all of them meant they were courting. "Everything we did together, me hugging you and giving you a kiss to a cheek are all friendly gestures. I-" She gulped, lowering her eyes momentarily before taking his hands into hers and making eye contact. "I don't see you that way."

"What way is that?" Words left his mouth before he could stop himself.

"I don't have any romantic feelings for you. I only see you as a friend." Natalie said only two sentences but it felt like she tore his heart from his chest and stabbed it. "You have been nothing but kind to me. You are the only person who was not mean to me ever. You have no idea how much that means to me."

If I mean so much to you, then why do you not want to be with me? Mean thought plagued his mind.

"You are one of the closest friends I have ever and I appreciate it truly."

You do not seem to appreciate me as you break my heart.

"But I have never ever seen or thought of you anything more than a close friend."

Malleus looked at her face to see if she was joking. As much as he wanted this to be a cruel joke, he saw that she was serious. But he wanted to try one last time. "Is there a chance of you to change your mind?"

She bit her lips, before plastering a smile on her face. "I cannot command how my heart feels, Malleus. I am sure you can understand that."

I understand it very well, Child of Man. A part of him was angry that she rejected him while the other part of him was upset that he assumed how she felt about him and their relationship were completely wrong. He wished he could tell his heart to stop loving her as more than friends and to seize aching but even with all the magic he had, it was impossible. He just needed some time alone to process all of these.

"You are free to explore the palace." Malleus had said as he retreated his hands from Natalie and stood up. Anyone would understand that he was upset as a lightning storm started over the palace even though he had stoic expression. "I have a matter to take care of, until then Croft." He bid her farewell before apparating to the mountains of Valley of Thorns.
