I still need help 4 my terminally ill kitty. I'm ~$500+ in my bank acct for rent and Xeno is going 2 need frequent visits for the time he has left, each of which is going 2 cost at least $100 and his medication every month is about $180. Hey there, I need some help!

Normally I don't do these sort of things because I have no need and I'm kind of a self kept person, but things are getting extra dicey and I need a place I feel would get spread around better on.

Gonna go ahead and warn you all ahead of time, this story contains mention of abuse in many different forms, so if these things trigger you, I'm sorry. I have to mention it.

I'm telling a story that isn't exactly mine, but it means more to me than I can say. I hope you all can believe me when I put this out, because it all sounds farfetched, but I couldn't make this up if I tried. I hope you all will listen.

My fiancé is a few states apart from me. We've known each other for about 12+ years, and have been dating for a few of those years.

In those years, he's had it really rough, being in a family that was either abusive, not present, or oppressive in some fashion (they were the "pray the gay away" types). Recently, the person who was taking care of him passed away of cancer, and he has been staying with a friend of his.

This family was good for a little bit, but the father was an alcoholic, very toxic and verbally abusive to everyone. His addiction is what eventually killed him, and he has left the family high and dry on money for anything.

There is a reason this is important information.

Throughout these years, he's had a cat, a Tortoise shell manx, about 6 years old. Her name is Kiki. She is rather feisty, yelling at the top of her little lungs if you so much as pat her rear-end wrong. She has been with him all this time.

As of recent, however, she has become sick. She has been found to have a rather large bladder stone and gets worse by the day. He doesn't have the ability to get it immediately taken care of.

I want to help him raise the money needed to help with surgery for her. Anything at all helps. It's much appreciated if you could share the story around as well. Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day.

Good news! Doggo is back from the vet; she needed to go to a specialist further away but the blockage was cleared without invasive surgery. Turns out she hadn't even eaten anything she wasn't supposed to, she was just majorly backed up for lack of a better term but she's safe now and finally I can fucking relax.

currently am at the emergency vet for our eldest cat. he is in critical condition according to the good people here. we do not know if he will make it through the night or for much longer. we have approved a DNR for him.

don't know if i will increase my presence on here to cope or decrease my presence to mourn. but that will be why. thank you for reading.

Kibby update, hes much better today. He's walking around and he's been eating.

So I got a better explination; they saw masses in his stomach.

Either its just parasites, they'll deworm him next week and he'll be better soon.

Or it's a bunch of small masses of cancer.. if it is, he'll be on antibiotics for the rest of his life, and he'll have a few remaining months with us. We could try chemotherapy, but it's a low chance of it working, and it would make him suffer.

Ultimately we're gonna try to give him the most comfortable life we can give him for his remaining time.

Thoughts about Lilith and her condition below the cut.

Poor Lilith seems to be kind of groggy today. She’s seemed varying levels of groggy for the past few days, actually, technically... She had a place in her mouth that was bleeding, but it seems to have stopped. Her medicines take a lot out of her, still, tho; the new steroid is supposed to increase appetite, but it’s probably hard to contend with the probable nausea it also produces, along with the nausea caused by her twice-a-day pain meds and the general exhaustion that that one causes. So, idk that she’s eating much better than she did before; it doesn’t seem to be much worse, if at all, so at least there’s that.

I do understand that we’re just buying precious little time, at this rate. She’s not gonna have the energy that she once had. She’s probably gonna be tired and sedentary for the rest of the time she has left. We just hope she isn’t also hurting. I’m not ready to let go yet, but at the same time it’s kind of difficult to watch, yannow? I feel like in some way I’m gonna be relieved; bc you can’t dread the thing that’s already come to pass, right? Worrying about it now is stressful. There’s also the bills to consider, which will still be here. I guess it’s just trading one worry for another, then...

But also. I’ve lived in the same room as this animal for over ten years, now. None of this is fair, least of all to her. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. For the past few years we haven’t been decorating for Christmas bc we haven’t been hosting company (a fact for which I’m actually somewhat glad, seeing as we’re kind of poorly equipped to handle it; though I am sad about the lack of decorations or a tree at least); she loved hanging out on the rug underneath the tree- and also taking running leaps onto it sometimes, such that some years we had to leave it off, lmao, especially with the less stable tree. We more than likely won’t be able to give that to her, now. Not even that much. It isn’t fair. She doesn’t even sleep on the bed with me anymore; hardly even gets on it if I’m in it, or even if I’m not. She’s been slowing down for a while now, especially since the end of last year, but... idk.

hi all,

So the good news is that Xeno is slowly feeling better, the bad news is that he has heart failure, we don’t know what stage yet. He could have anywhere from 6-12 months left with us but we won’t be sure until I take him in for a checkup in the coming week.

The vets drained a ton of fluid from his chest cavity that was pressing on his heart and lungs, and he has a slight heart murmur. He’s breathing normally now and the diuretics worked really well getting excess fluid out of his body. I’m sorry I didn’t update everybody, I was basically just crying a lot and watching him like a hawk. It ended up almost $800 with the procedure and x rays and taking the Lyft so he wouldn’t be traumatized by public transportation. Friends and family have been so generous in their donations and I want to just say thank you thank you thank you. Because of you I didn’t have to have him euthanized right when we got the diagnosis, and now he is sitting on me, purring again and being so, so loved. I’m so glad I could give him more time with us instead of saying goodbye when he wasn’t ready to leave yet.

I don’t know yet what further expenses we’ll have, if nothing else drastic happens we’ll be okay but if you are still interested in donating a few $ you can do that here.
