As someone who's had a panic attack before (It fucking sucked thanks for asking) it sickens me that Adora getting slapped by Catra actually calmed her down.

It's one thing when this is shown in adult shows, but this was literally shown in a kid's show "Hey kids! Is your friend having a panic attack! Just slap them and it'll calm them down!" Y'know what calmed me down during a panic attack? Going somewhere where literally nobody else was! If someone fucking slapped me, I wouldn't have fucking calmed down! It would just freak me out more!

Ememy Vs. Abuser: Catradora

Disclaimer: Netflix doesn't allow me to take screenshots. I tried to find clips on Youtube but a lot of these are stolen. And an obvious tw for abuse.

When Catradora antis bring up how Catra abused Adora in seasons 1-4, a lot of people seem to be confused. The go-to defense is the following:

"Catra and Adora were enemies, they were put against each other in many battles. The 'abuse' is just what you'd normally expect from enemies to lovers".

A complelling argument, for sure. How can you expect of Catra to not be violent with someone who was put against her? The answer to this question can be answered through a different question: Why is Catra the abuser? Why not Adora?

What's the difference between an enemy, and an abuser?

1# The aggressor is particularly cruel to their future partner.

Catra doesn't use her claws on real people very often. She mostly uses them on objects or robots (or Shadow Weather's mask).

At times, it's clear tnat she would gain a lot from using her claws, but she doesn't.

One might suggest that it's because she understands the full weight of using them. Whatever the case may be, there is a person she doesn't seem to have these reservations about: Adora.

2# Their intreractions contain emotional abuse.

Catra often blames Adora for things that aren't her fault. She's cruel to Adora, deliberately and viciously hurts her.

She makes mean spirited remarks and belittles her.

Additionally, Catra gaslit her.

And wouldn't you know it, she takes pride in having control over Adora.

3# There is no balance.

As we previously established, Catra has no problem being needlessly cruel to Adora. But is Catra in the same danger? It it at least mutually toxic?

It's not. Adora can fight and defend herself, but won't do more than she needs. Meanwhile, Catra seem to relish in brutalizing her.

Further more, moments that could be considered romantic build up in their own, "spicy" way, are positioned with Catra on top, where Adora has no choice but to comply, where she's stuck there.

4# The aggressor got in the victim's head.

Adora has a guilt complex. That's not a controversial take. She takes too much responsibility and thinks everything is her fault. A lot of this stems from Shadow Weaver, but there's another source.

And Adora is very quick to internalize her cruel remarks.

In Conclusion:

Catra and Adora's relationship can and was abusive during the war. They share specific patterns of abusive relationships even at war zone. Catra hurting Adora isn't all war stuff, it's personal, it's abusive.

antics at akademi — a yandere simulator inspired story.

akademi high school is a very prestigious establishment, saved only for the most eloquent and intelligent students. it's the place where budding youths go to be modeled into the perfect member of society, it's the place where dreams come true, it's the place where everything runs as perfectly and as smoothly as you can possibly imagine it. akademi highschool is a utopia...

...said no one ever.

akademi fell to shambles long ago, and this year's batch of interesting characters seem dedicated to tearing it to pieces even more, whether they're doing it consciously or not.

these people are far from normal. every day, there's some new conflict or event or explosion or bird attack. and don't think that the list of troublemakers only extends to the students, because these teachers are the only people working there for a reason.

does that intrigue you yet? if so, you might be interested in following the progression of this school year, where you'll watch relationships break and form, people rise and fall, see it get worse, then become slightly less worse. you know, that stuff.

akademi high school is way past the description of disorderly. it's downright hellish.

but it will get better.

antics at akademi is a retelling of yandere simulator, with the same setting and characters, but a different genre. it takes on more of a slice of life comedy story, with some elements of drama in there as well.

when published on ao3 and wattpad in the future, every chapter will follow to day-to-day life of the students of akademi for a whole school year. every moment will be full of things that make you smile, laugh, cry, or hit your head again your screen.

antics at akademi is an entirely separate thing from the game it is inspired by, and is in no way in support of yandere dev; not supporting anything the original may imply, not supporting his actions or ideologies, none of that. i am a very different person and i am telling a very different story from yandere dev.

Maybe Hindsight is something, but I'm watching Season 2 of Supergirl again, and I agree there were fundamental flaws in the basic construction of how they chose to use Mon-el (and I still don't ship Karamel), but... what he actually does? The way the story uses Kara and Mon-el? Their relationship? It's really good, and it's as much, or even more about showcasing Kara, and her strengths and depths and how she changes Mon-el, as it is about Mon-el and his development.

There was so much screeching about Mon-el back when season 2 was airing, and I always knew it was silly, but I forgot just how silly it was.

It's honestly sad that Adora can't breath without people saying it's because of Catra. They say she loves stars because of Catra, she sleeps with her legs tucked because of Catra, she hesitated to hurt one of the chipped princesses because of Catra, the spot she reaches for when she has nightmares is because of Catra, I literally saw someone say she has a big forehead because of Catra (Albeit that was a joke post) just let Adora have a life outside of Catra, please. She doesn't do everything she does because of Catra.

how does it feel being a good writer enjoying a poorly written story

yansim? oh ... it hurts. it's like watching a car crash

but you know what? that's why i'm REWRITING it! taking a piece of media i love some aspects of and repairing all of the others while also adding some of my own new ideas to it!

antics at akademi is a teeeeechnically RETELLING of yandere simulator since i totally switch up the vibe and genre, but it also doesn't have the same sequence of events like a retelling usually would. it's totally its own thing at this point.

it's a slice of life comedy with a side of drama, following the day-to-day life of the students of akademi so closely that you might want to ask it to back up a little bit.

180 days split into 9 segments, equivalent to a chapter (since this is in written form!) and each one filled with laughs, tears, tender moments, some really weird shit, everything you'd expect out of life!
