#today was easier! I had a dentist’s appointment that I had to get to in the morning and it was the first time in four weeks that I’d #-left the house by myself #I managed! I did really good actually. I didn’t get overwhelmed from being in the public #and I beat my fear of dentists and got my chipped filling filled back in :-) #then I went to tk maxx for some quick valentine’s shopping (because let’s be honest: w/ my track record I’m not leaving the house- #-before valentine’s lol) and treated myself to some chocolate cake and even started journaling today for the first time in many years! #heavily thanks to you all last night for your suggestions #anyhow !! WIP Wednesday (9/13) | Arsonist Neil / Firefighter Andrew AU

“Yeah. She lived, but man…” Aaron takes a bite and shakes his head. “Shattered both hips. Both knees. And one arm was just kind of… dangly. It was insane.”

“Aren’t you supposed to not tell us about your calls?” Andrew says.

Aaron’s face goes pale. “Oh fuck. Does HIPAA cover EMTs?” 

“Dunno," Andrew shrugs. "I'm not one."

"Well, if anything bad happens I'll just call it twin telepathy and say you told Nicky," Aaron says with a slight smirk. Andrew feels the corners of his mouth twitch at that statement.

“How’s the fire fighting business, Andrew?” Nicky asks. He moves out of frame for a moment and returns with a plate.

“Wymack seems to think we’ve got a serial arsonist on our hands,” Andrew says, suddenly realizing that he and his twin happen to be eating the same thing. Andrew’s, however, is homemade and not from Burger King. He holds up his superior burger and takes a bite.

“Oh, wow. Arson sounds serious.” Nicky says with wide eyes. 

“Yeah, apparently he likes to set things on fire and call us to deal with his mess.” Andrew sighs. He doesn't mention that he's seen said arsonist twice and not told a soul.

“Got a flamer, huh? That tops my broken old lady."

“Aaron! You know that’s not what that means. That’s offensive!” Nicky squawks so loud that the speaker on Andrew’s laptop crackles.

not to be jumping back to Octopath again, but I came across an actual explanation of temenos in the sense of how it was used originally as related to ancient Greek religion and the term suggests the use as a name is a bit more complicated than my "oh they basically named this dude Churchyard" handwaving of the writers' choice of names, but now I'm just sitting here with Thoughts and Feelings again
