okay so this isnt the Greatest Book of All Time (its pretty low down there actually, unfortunately) but the story concept plus cover are making me think radiostatic thoughts

as a synopsis: basically this is a. um. Very very toxic sapphic. Story. i hesitate to call it d/s or even romance for pretty obvious reasons to anyone whos read it- basically, its about these two women who start messaging because one of them wants to sell a family heirloom (i believe its because of money problems) and eventually wind up into a dom/sub type relationship where the dom sends her money for. i Think. like. faaaaavors?????? tentatively speaking my memory is actually dogshit. and this is all over emails and instant messaging, by the way, like early 2000s sexting. it eventually spirals off the deep end and theres a lot of gore and stuff- Anyway. its kinda freaky but i really cannot stop thinking about this in context of radiostatic

like. okay. vox whos in a bad financial situation meets alastor who promises to help him out of it in the form of monthly payment for communication and favors. vox agrees and they fall into a similar cycle as agnes and zoe (s/d, respectively) that culminates in alastor manipulating vox into mutilating himself.

Also i mostly thought back to this because i remember something with an eye and i cannot stop thinking about radiostatic swapping eyes for some reason. i cant explain anyof this coherently rn maybe ill expand later when i can think without minding the throbbing ib my wrist
