Feels immense guilt for being born in the Enclave, despite barely remembering it. So he tries to help out whenever he can, and it's his main motivation for joining the followers.

Often has nightmares about the Enclave regaining power and returning.

Also has nightmares about his older ties being associated and him being driven out of the Followers, stoned or imprisoned by NCR.

Big Sci-Fi fan, definitely grew up loving those old Jangles the Moon Monkey show re-runs or hearing some radio shows on Sci-Fi. War of the Worlds is his favourite.

Often feels out of place, especially considering his height.

Growing up, he excelled in chemistry and maths. They put him in a special course designed to form Enclave Scientists.

Only recently got transferred to the Mojave. He was previously researching how to make more efficient sanitiser and anti-microbial solutions for surgery from Eucalyptus oil (Yes, Eucalyptus trees grow in Cali).

Now researching how to cross-bred Broc Flowers and Barrel Cacti and grow them more efficiently. He's also studying their chemical make-up to help create more effective stimpaks and healing powder.

Learned quite a lot from Dr Henry. Would often pester him to teach him about medicine. Quite close, consider him an uncle.

Is very open about his sexuality, unless you're one of the remnants. He tends to avoid the discussion of partners.

Has been really vague about it to Daisy and is slowly coming out to the others, a bit worried what Moreno would think.

Moreno literally doesn't care that much.

They all love him regardless, and it works out well. Daisy welcomes all of his boyfriends with open arms. Threatens them in case they break his heart, lol.

Considers Veronica to be a younger sister figure. Also pretty friendly with Cass and Raul.

Very worried about Lily and often corresponds with Dr Henry about her and ways for the Followers and himself can help her. Lily sees him as another adopted Grandchild.

Has also offered to get help for Cass' Alcoholism and Boone's Grief. Both declined.

Favourite colour is blue! His favourite number is 18.

Has a whole library back at his room in the Boneyard, but eventually decides to permanently stay in the Mojave under an NCR ending.

All other endings, he tries to get the others to go back to the Boneyard with him and Veronica does. Cass gets halfway before decided to move somewhere else. Boone does move to the NCR, and they keep in contact. Lily stays in Jacobstown, but also exchange letters. No clue what happened to Raul.

If the Kings die, he ends up with Rex.

New Vegas companions react to a teenage courier?

Another super late post from me (I'm so sorry lmao) but better late than never! I've already said this but I love reading/writing for Teen!Sole/Courier - my courier oc is actually nineteen during the events on New Vegas so stuff like this helps with developing her too! <33

Companions React to Teen!Courier

(Includes: Arcade, Boone, Cass, Lily, Raul and Veronica)

Arcade

Straight off the bat, he's gonna have a lot more patience for a younger courier than he would an adult. He doesn't exactly have fond memories of being a teenager - but then again, who does anymore? - so he can't even begin to imagine what it must be like after what the courier had gone through. Although Arcade often prefers to avoid violence when he can, he's more than willing to resort to it when it comes to protecting the courier. However, this means he's all the more disappointed if the courier sides with the Legion, he understands they're far more impressionable and that only makes him harbour more anger towards the faction, but he'd still expected better from them.

Boone

Instantly goes into dad/big brother mode. Boone doesn't anticipate it happening, but he finds himself being much more protective over the courier than he'd like to be. He'd been so excited to be a father before Carla's death and in a strange way, the courier feels like a second chance. He won't mention it, of course, especially not at first, but he'll show that he cares in little ways like making sure Six has a larger portion of the rations than he does or by protecting them from danger before he even considers himself. Boone doesn't want to overstep, nor does he really feel comfortable talking about it, so he'll never bring up how much he cares, he just hopes the courier knows he'll protect them no matter what happens.

Cass

It doesn't make a complete difference to Cass. Of course, she's even more outraged over what Benny did to Six, finding their attempted murder horrific in general, but even more so when it's apparent the courier isn't even eighteen. While Boone takes on a paternal role, Cass quickly becomes an older sister and terrible influence all rolled into one. She'll offer Six whiskey to try, although she knows chances are they've already drank alcohol before - God knows she'd sampled enough as a teenager. She's always willing to give them advice, granted she knows it's not always the best and most moral advice, but she's doing her best regardless.

Lily

Honestly, not much about Lily's relationship with Six would change, even if they were a teenager. She takes her role as their grandma as seriously as ever, refusing to see any harm come to the courier. With Six being even closer in age to her Jimmy and Becky, it sometimes makes it even harder than it usually would for her to remember she's not actually talking to her grandchildren. She's just grateful that the courier is patient with her, even if she isn't the perfect grandma sometimes.

Raul

It's hard for Raul to not be reminded of Rafaela and Claudia when he first meets the courier - regardless of their gender. Almost similarly to Boone, he sees them as a chance to do better and actually protect someone for once (third times the charm, right?) He manages to play it off with sarcasm and quick wit, but he truly does care for Six and he wants what's best for them. Perhaps he won't always agree with their choices and he makes a point to voice that when it's the case, but there's never a day he won't stand by them. He refuses to lose someone a third time.

Veronica

She's actually really excited to meet the teenaged courier. When with the Brotherhood of Steel, Veronica would love spending time with the squires, constantly being reprimanded for distracting them from their work - sure, Six is a little bit older, but she doesn't mind. But now? She doesn't have to worry about her commanding officers telling her to buzz off, she can spend all the time with them that she wants, if they're willing to put up with her. She's definitely a better influence than Cass, or at least she tries to be, but she knows showing Six how to cheat at poker probably wasn't the best idea. Veronica will also insist that she'll deal with Benny herself, but she knows better than to get in the way of the courier and their revenge.

• Doc Mitchell knows a little sign, but not a whole lot for effective communication

• Ulysses only learned sign so he can understand the courier if they're mute, deaf, or hard of hearing

Craig Boone

He truly does not care, the couriers business is their own.

Doesn't pry into their personal life, if they'd like to talk about it Boone will listen, it's what he's good at.

Boone doesn't understand why the courier would be attracted to a ghoul, though once again that's their business. Plus it's not like he's the one kissing that face.

Will be a bit protective, although he'd never admit it, the courier is his friend and he doesn't like seeing friends get hurt.

Arcade Gannon

He finds it odd, but he's seen so much in the wasteland it doesn't exactly phase him much.

He will ask if the courier is dating Rotface just for information and intel. He knows a lot about the ghouls reputation.

Warns them of the dangers no matter the answer and in general is a bit of a mother hen.

Arcade will never say it out loud but he likes the gossip he hears from Rotface.

Raul Tejada

Okay, boss.

He's the last person that would judge the courier for dating a ghoul, considering his own condition.

Raul acts like a protective grandpa, telling the courier to be careful. Especially knowing how Rotface likes to talk.

Doesn't want the courier getting hurt by being in the middle of something caused by their lover.

He's also kind of glad that someone would be attracted to a ghoul for more than just sex. Gives him hope that if he wanted a relationship one day, he'd be able to find someone.

Veronica Santangelo

She doesn't judge, or at least tries not to.

Being raised in the Brotherhood has its downsides, and one of those is being sheltered.

Veronica tells the courier that of Rotface hurts them, she punch him for them. She's only half joking.

She loves the gossip and "girl talk" though. Asking the courier how dates went, helping them dress up for dates, and even planning dates for them.

She says it's like a fairytale, tells the courier about prewar stories like Beauty and the Beast and the Frog Prince.

Sharon of Rose "Cass" Cassidy

Really? Okay, whatever floats your boat.

She'd never date a ghoul, but that's just her, and the courier is not her.

Cass doesn't think it's her business, and doesn't pry. Though she gives unsolicited dating advice when she's drunk.

She's just happy that the courier is happy, and if Rotface hurts the courier in any way, she'll pop a cap in his ass.

Lily Bowen

Oh that's lovely sweetheart, I hope you're happy!

Very supportive grandma, always tells the courier to have fun on dates and to be safe.

However, if the courier gets hurt in any way, Rotface will have Leo to deal with.

He hates that he's fallen in love with you, he really does. There are moments when he's not sure how you managed to make it as far as you did in life.

He does still try his best to explain things in a way that'll help you understand what's going on, though, even if it goes right over your head.

He does find some of it endearing, albeit, in a slightly frustrating way. He does appreciate your careless sense of adventure and excitement whenever the two of you wander off into the Mojave. All of that blind optimism rubs off on him a bit and he's really grateful for it.

He loves how you view the world so simply. Sometimes it even helps him remember or think about something he hadn't considered before—like a second point of view.

A lot of the time you'll be sitting in one of the Followers' tents, feet swaying back and forth, as Arcade works on something else.

Despite it all, he does try to teach you about the different factions and political agendas happening in the current times, even if it fails miserably.

One of his favorite things about you is how easily you seem to forgive people and how quick you are to assume the best. It’s something he really admires,

"Don't touch that, it'll kill you."

The two of you together are a ridiculous duo, almost exact polar opposites of each other that you could probably do a show in The Tops and people would love it.

As much as you stress him out, he does care about you and makes sure you're hanging around people who have your best interest at heart and making sure no one's taking advantage of how easily influenced you can be.

Sometimes he'll send you down to the School of Impersonations because The King's all love having you around and it gives him peace of mind knowing that you aren't going around getting yourself into trouble.

Arcade loves it when you ramble about things, even if it’s the dumbest thing he’s ever heard. In a world where you almost need to be smart, you come off as so unique to him.

He thinks you’re really funny, even if it’s unintentional. He can’t help but smile whenever you’re around.

This relationship might be rocky, but as long as you both are working toward improving for one another, it'll succeed.

Vulpes Inculta Headcanons

He is fluent in latin

He's probably the smartest person in the legion and spends most of his free time training or reading

He'd never admit it but he has a book of Catullus poems hidden under his bed

He practically hoards books, especially anything written in latin

Unpopular opinion but I imagine Vulpes being a virgin. Many of the legion men may lay with the slaves but it is generally frowned upon. It is viewed as them being weak and dependent on women if they can't control themselves. Vulpes holds himself of a higher standard, also he refuses to 'dirty' himself with the slaves and anyone unworthy. He will wait for the right woman even though he's not actively looking.

He writes Latin love poems to you

When his tribe was being conquered by the Legion, his mother had tried to slit his throat to spare him from being forced into their ranks.

He grew up near the great salt lakes of Utah. Most of his childhood was spent swimming.

He has whipping scars on his back from Legion punishments

Joshua Graham had trained him when he was first recruited into the Legion at 9 years old. Joshua became somewhat of a father figure to him

To test Vulpes' loyalty to Caesar he was commanded to light Joshua Graham on fire before he was pushed into the Grand Canyon. He was hesitant, but ultimately obeyed and earned himself a higher rank.

Vulpes had a brother that was killed when his tribe was conquered

As a hobby, he carves woods into little statues and figurines, usually portraying someone from ancient Rome and mythology

Although he seems cold and cruel, he isn't a horrible person. At least not as bad as he seems.

He's never beat any slaves and usually scolds legionaries that do, telling them they're weak and cowards to attack someone that's defenseless and so far below them

As the head Frumentarii he has learned to fit in with the culture of New Vegas. While the other legionaries may be confused by technology and not understand many things outside of the Legion he has exceptional knowledge on it.

Cursed FNV Headcanons in no Particular Order

Legate Lanius' mask functions on cartoon logic. The eye holes move and emote based on what he's doing or feeling.

Courier Six has one foot outside of the fourth wall at all times. They can see the game UI (popups, markers, etc.), but haven't put two and two together why. At first they think the world is just Like That™, but once it's made clear that they're the only one who can see these things, they assume it's a side effect of the whole being shot in the head thing. Maybe even an effect of Old World Blues.

Ulysses has super strength. His 10 strength stat makes him as strong as, if not stronger than, most super mutants. He can grab Six by the leg and swing them around like a whirly tube with ease. If he were to slap Six as hard as he could, they'd skid across the ground leaving a ravine behind them. He can easily (and has easily) impaled them with Old Glory. None of this stops them from messing with him.

Arcade rarely drinks before traveling with Six. After a while, he finds himself slipping alcohol into his morning coffee more and more often. As much as Arcade cares for Six, traveling with them is incredibly stressful and worrying. Some of this is relieved when Ulysses joins the crew. He's intelligent, a good listener, and tends to help ground Arcade when it all starts to feel like too much. Plus, it's nice knowing you're not the only one who thinks that eyebot is bad news. They quickly become confidants.

Caesar and Joshua are aggressively divorced; interpret this how you will.

Caesar can't cook for shit. This is more in-line with a modern day AU, but he is actively banned from the kitchen. You could ask the man to boil water and it would result in a house fire. He touts himself as the "grill master" at the cookout only to burn everything and have to eat the spare meat the others pack because this happens every time.

How do you think your top three New Vegas companions (or all if you want to) react to a courier admitting that they have chronic migraines from their head injury that chems can’t dull? (Arcade ready with a whole lecture on chem addiction and courier’s like ‘I just want my brain to stop screaming at me… Both kinds of literally :( )

I FEEL LIKE MY TOP 3 ARE SO BORING but they're also safe choices i think?? rex is definitely top 3 but i don't think he'd be a particularly interesting option, so i hope you don't mind arcade, boone and cass <3

New Vegas Companions React to a Courier with Chronic Migraines (Contains: Arcade Gannon, Boone and Cass)

Arcade Gannon We already know he's gonna be giving the courier a lecture on the effects of chem addiction, that goes without saying. He's been in Freeside long enough to see how addiction has affected others around him and he's actually grown to like the courier, so there's no way he's going to watch the same thing happen to them. He knows he can't stop the migraines altogether, but he's willing to be patient with the courier when they do come around and make sure his friend gets the best care possible. He'll likely suggest that the courier lets the Followers try and treat them, since that's probably the best medical care they could get, but if they don't want to go with that option, he won't push.

Craig Boone While his own issues with head pain are nothing compared to the courier's, Boone's suffered from his fair share of stress migraines, with everything that's happened in the past few years. He can sympathise better than the courier may expect and surprisingly enough, he's actually very understanding if Six needs more time to rest up or can't do something on a day where their migraines are worse than usual. He knows the pain and the idea of having to deal with that consistently is a terrifying thought to him, so he can't begin to imagine how the courier managed to keep it together for so long. Boon knows his presence alone can't stop the migraines, but he hopes that it's at least a comfort for the courier.

Cass Any headaches she's suffered from have always been cured by a bottle of whiskey to knock her out for the night, which is the first thing she suggests to Six. Although, when they explain that it's not just your average headache and not even chems are helping anymore, she realises it might take more than alcohol to ease the courier's pain. She finds it quit frustrating at first, when she wants to get back on the road and the courier can hardly lift their head off the ground, but she'd never voice her irritation - it's not like Six can help it. Over time, she becomes more understanding and used to the idea that some days, it's easier on the courier to take a break and try to rest up, she doesn't have the best bedside manner, but she tries to do what she can and it's the thought that counts.
