Is it ever mentioned or alluded how old was Airplane when he died?
EDIT: I have been corrected on the numbers below! I misremembered some details! Airplane Bro WAS updating 10,000 words daily with bursts of 25,000 words. We do also know that he went to university at some point. Please check out the comments added to this post for more accurate details!
Original post:
As far as I know, we never really get a fixed number. We do know that Airplane was living on his own, supporting himself, no longer supported by his divorced parents. I can't remember if we actually know whether or not he went to college, but he wasn't in college when he transmigrated, I think, which suggests that he had already finished college or had dropped out by then.
Thanks to Shen Yuan, we do know that Proud Immortal Demon Way was at least 20 million words long and that Airplane Bro was notable for his speed of writing as well as how much he wrote. Shen Yuan at one point says that Airplane Bro was capable of occasionally doing multi-day 10,000 words updates, which I take to mean that Airplane Bro was overall averaging far less than 10,000 words per day, because that update schedule is nuts. The 10,000 words daily bursts were rare and remarkable.
But, if we decide to assume that Airplane Bro was really writing and posting 10,000 words a day nonstop, then that's 3,650,000 words a year. It would take him about 5.5 years to write 20,000,000 words. Let's assume that his writing schedule was slightly less nuts than that and say that he was writing about 5,000 words per day, which would mean that PIDW took him 11 years to write, which sounds a little more reasonable when I'm pretty sure that PIDW wasn't his only project. It's just the one that took off as a smash hit.
I generally headcanon Airplane starting to write novels in his mid to late teenage years, which gives him a little time to explore other projects, before maybe starting PIDW in his college years for fun at first, before he has to change his original plans in order to make money to support himself. He would be in his late twenties at the youngest, probably, unless his writing speed and update schedule really was that nuts. (Shen Yuan makes some comments about the author of PIDW having the writing skills of a child. It is admittedly funny to consider Airplane Bro maybe being a young teenager when he started writing PIDW, like 13 or 14-ish, though I don't hold it as headcanon. It's a fun fic idea.) It is way more likely that he was in his thirties when he transmigrated, especially if he only started publishing PIDW after college.
It's hard to know how old Airplane actually feels when he had to live a childhood over again in a brand new world. We don't actually get any confirmation on how old Mobei-Jun is either, but it is funny to think about Shang Qinghua potentially having 30+ years of another life on MBJ, when an age difference is, like, the least of Moshang's problems and it takes them 25+ years (however old Binghe is at the bare minimum because I'm pretty sure that they met before he was born) to actually hook up.
I still want to write at least a one-shot of Airplane Bro transmigrating in as himself (I had a tag for this, I need to go find it). He still manages to become a cultivator, maybe through author knowledge cheats, but he looks like a totally average man in his forties or fifties. Because he is not that young! And younger man Mobei-Jun, I think, especially with all of his father-related and uncle-related issues, would be so embarrassingly into this.

Hello!
I've created a new primary blog for myself so that I can reply to and follow fellow fans as Tossawary. I'm Tossawary on AO3, where I write fanfiction for SVSSS, and I post writing updates, as well as random SVSSS-related meta, fic ideas, jokes, and art to @tossawary.
I'm also Tossawary on Twitter, but I'm not really active there except for posting fic chapter updates and retweeting the occasional piece of art, so it's not a reliable way to contact me.
A while back, I created @nestofgreeneggs so that I could reblog fun art and such to share, and I think I'm going to keep that side-blog around as my main art and illustration space. I'm not sure what I'm going to use this blog for yet, but I think I'm leaning towards longer meta posts, general fandom thoughts, and sillier text posts.
I don't know what the ask box policy for this blog will be yet or if I will post an FAQ of sorts about myself. I'm still figuring things out!

“That’s not what I meant!” Shang Qinghua huffs, his head still spinning. As far as being a married man goes, Shang Qinghua is nowhere near ready.
“What?” Mobei Jun raises a single eyebrow. “Were you looking to marry for love?”

Can I ask your top 10 fav fics ever (from any fandom, if you don't mind)?
Also, just curious, is there a story behind your name "verycharismaticdragon "?
I'm not the best at remembering things past the hyperfix, so half of this will be SV, but I'll start at prev fandoms for variety.
Artificial Nocturne (Motorcity) - I've read this ages ago but I remember it rearranging my brain chemistry. And making me realize I had a scar kink.
An Abomination, Grand Cleric Elthina's Murderer and the Herald of Andraste walk into a Bar (Dragon Age) - it's probably abandoned but it's so good. Anders and Varric in this are so *incoherent gesturing*
intra-personal negotiation (Venom) - I don't understand why I didn't bookmark a single Venom fic even though I distinctly remember like 5 straight bangers, but thankfully I'm following this author at least ✊
deathbed (Qi Ye) - that time I was whining there were no first life JBY/ZZS fics and then! Anyway it's understandably melancholy it's also very pretty and exactly right as it should be.
the good rain knows when to fall (TYK) - you should be reading Bichen's entire discography fic collection I just remembered this one first. This one is lighthearted old foxes clowning! The author's angst and cannibalism are also top-notch 👌
Ok now to SVSSS.
Joyed to be Forlorn - THE binghe fic for me. inspired me to start digging into Luo Binghe's character in a way that resulted in Transmigrator Time Traveler, hopefully thats recommendation enough
continued - possibly THE best fic in scum villain fandom. the format alone... oh just read it, you'll see what I mean.
A Child Once - again, i could rec Tossawary's entire discography, but this one is my personal favorite. (if your fav character is SQH though, the one you want is pride is not the word I'm looking for. aka THE sqh fic.)
sweet tongues, sharp teeth - unfinished but raw enough to lodge itself in my brain despite that.
Tale Within A Tale - cute as fuck. made me kick my legs and giggle many times. ...and because once I started pulling up SV fics it was difficult to stop...
side effects (rated E) - part 2 in particular didnt have to go so hard for a fic where the premise is 'bingqiu with tentacles'
don't underestimate me (rated E) - "all for the sake of preserving biodiversity!" god shen yuan SO would be in this situation.
The Best Luo Binghe (rated E) - binggeyuan. shen yuan SO would be in this situation, take 2.
put me in, coach (rated M) - bingqiushang. so fucking funny okay i love it so much
from your knees (rated E) - bingjiu. they're so rancid in this one its perfect 🖤
...Damn, this really puts the difference between my non-hyperfix and hyperfix memory into perspective, huh 😅 i actually had to trim the sv list a bit 😅😅😅
Anyway, yeah, my username actually just references an rp session we had with friends quite a few years back. Where at a certain point my character was referenced as "a VERY charismatic dragon" after managing to turn the antagonist by impressing them (thanks to some VERY lucky dice rolls). And I was dissatisfied with my old username at the time, and thought it sounded funny and snappy enough, so - stars aligned and all that. I'm happy with it still! Probably because dragons are always cool ✌️

Also, just curious, is there a story behind your name "ineffectualdemon "?
Ah it's hard to pick my top 10 fics because I'm kind of a fic hoarder. I have over 3,000 bookmarks on AO3 because if I enjoy a fic I want to read it again and once I'm in a new hyperfixation I rarely go back to old ones until the cycle naturally takes me back there
But it's really hard for me to pick my top ten fics because ranking things like that is hard
I will say for Moshang Tossawary on AO3 is the gold standard.
As for my user name it's because my kid when they were little informed me that it seemed like I was built to be evil but I'm really incredibly bad at it. Like an ineffectual demon or something (I said that last bit in response but they agreed)
Like I am meant intrinsically to be evil but I failed so hard at it I'm actually nice
My husband agreed and I couldn't see the lie so I changed my URL to Ineffectualdemon and it fits very well
Kiddo maintains this is still accurate btw (they are 14)
My evil deeds are mostly just explaining what Hetalia and the Omegaverse are to my husband non consensually and wearing mismatched socks around him
Fyi btw on Tumblr itself this showed you as anonymous but in the email this time it gave me your URL so you might want to yell at Tumblr about that

So I made a quick oneshot (and accompanying sketch) to get back into the swing of Writing Things, which I've called The Quest For Monster Energy. Featuring three peak lords (tired doctor Mu Qingfang, eccentric brew master Zhang Qingyan, and definitely-not-suspicious logistician Shang Qinghua) coming together to make an energy drink concoction akin to Monster Energy in order to stay awake and complete their tasks.
(I definitely lifted the brewing peak lord name and the beast keeping peak name from this @/tossawary post: https://tossawary.tumblr.com/post/649140398750580736/im-sorry-this-feels-real-weird-but-i-love because Convenience and they've said it's fine before)
Nothing with shipping, nothing explicit or mature, just 4k words of "what if a Victorian child got a hold of monster energy" vibes:
Mu Qingfang had a quest, and once a month, there was a meeting to try to fulfill it.
Shang Qinghua, punctual as ever, was the first to arrive at Mu Qingfang's leisure house right at dusk. With as much time as he spent in the clinic or his personal lab, it was the least used – and thus least cluttered – of the small group's houses. The disciples who cleaned it twice a day were there more than he was, some weeks.
"Shang-shixiong, it is a pleasure as always," Mu Qingfang greeted as the other man sat down and began to unload various small pouches onto the table, next to where Mu Qingfang had already set an assortment of jars. One package had blood splatter on it, which Mu Qingfang ignored. "Has that pain reliever this one sent over worked well for you?"
Shang Qinghua flexed his wrist as he set the last package down, showing off his mobility. "Worked like a charm! No more stiffness or carpal tunnel here!" He grinned, which in the dim lighting, gave an almost menacing appearance when paired with his eye bags and mustache. "How late do you wanna bet Zhang-shimei gets here?"
Zhang Qingyan, lord of the Zui Xian peak of brewing and alchemists, had an unfortunate tendency to lose track of time. She wasn't often intentionally late (ignoring occasions where she was being petty, at least), Mu Qingfang just knew first hand that her laboratory had many small timers yet no overall time keeper. She once claimed that it was just a distraction, whatever that meant.
"I suppose it depends on if she had another chemical explosion," Mu Qingfang responded. "And if she decides to stick around afterwards and clean it, or if she just delegated it onto-"
"HELLOOOO!" Came a cry as the door slammed open, cutting the doctor off.
Zhang Qingyan, one for less propriety than even Shang Qinghua at times, made her grand appearance as if the entire front half of her body was not covered in soot and her hair was not burnt at the ends. Mu Qingfang was only a little shocked she wasn't fully covered, and also wasn't showing up even later. He’d almost call this early for her.
"Sorry I'm a bit late, there was an explosion in the lab again and I had to assign disciples to sort out the mess before I could arrive," she explained as she dropped into her spot at the table and began removing bottles from her bag. "It was necessary to work until the last moment to ensure I was fully prepared for this meeting." With a grin, she removed the last, and largest bottle from her bag. It had a glowing orange liquid in it.
"How are your disciples?" Mu Qingfang inquired politely, though he couldn't tear his eyes away from the strange glow of the bottles that she was sorting on the table.
"The same as always, I suppose! The younger ones have broken a record this year on glass vial breaks, and I caught one of my inner disciples in the middle of a challenge to lick acid yesterday, so they're coming along nicely." She had an eccentric yet caring attitude towards her disciples. If asked, Mu Qingfang knew she'd say she's proud of their tenacity and willingness to test new things. It's part of why she tended to try out new experimental potions on herself as opposed to them the way her predecessor had.
Mu Qingfang wished his lack of student experiments were for the same reason, but his was less out of compassion and more because he couldn’t seem to keep the same group of inner disciples for a long enough period of time to even try to experiment on them. It would be a valuable learning experience for them! They loved being the experimenter, but an important part of being a medic was fully understanding the effects of things! Unfortunately, the moment he thought to ask who would like to test out experimental medicines or new qi blocking techniques, half of them would leave the mountains for personal study or to become an assistant to a specialized peak elder instead. His head disciple refused to even potentially be taken out of commission after lasting this long, and the outer disciples had learned to avoid him when he spent too long on his research.
It was fine, he was okay with going through official channels for human experiments, the slower ones that disciples could opt into for experience. And when that wasn’t an option, well, then he turned to personal experimentation.
"Are they still making a game of sneaking into the alcohol storage cellar?" Shang Qinghua asked, as if he had never done that as a disciple with only Mu Qingfang as an accidental witness. He would have gotten away unseen had Mu Qingfang not been sent there on a dare by his shixiongs for the same purpose.
"With those talismans and arrays that Shang-shixiong helped me with, the new challenge is just finding the cellar in the first place." With a dramatic eye roll, she finally finished sorting the bottles the way she liked. "And you'd be surprised how much that's deterred them."
Shang Qinghua shook his head. "Kids these days know nothing of sleuthing and sneaking," he declared, Zhang Qingyan nodding along.
Mu Qingfang just wished that disciples would stop getting black out drunk and falling off their swords before they even had fully developed brains.
"Enough about the children though!" Zhang Qingyan said. "They're cleaning up the results of my latest and greatest creation! This should act as the perfect base for our concoction," she said, dramatically gesturing to the literal glowing bottle in front of her. "These other bottles are other chemicals and potions that may complement the mixture well. What have you all brought to the table?"
Mu Qingfang gestured to the jars of herbs and small monster parts in front of him. "Since last month, my experiments have shown that Leeching Three Eyed Serpent eyeballs have positive effects on energy and awareness. As well as that, some variants of the herbs I have been cultivating in my gardens have shown enhanced energy signatures when paired with the selectively bred tea leaves this one has been growing."
The other two nodded, both unphased by the strange contents of the jars for entirely separate reasons, so he continued. "This one, however, is still unsure as to whether the presence of the serpent eyes will have an averse or negating effect on the tea like the Sleepless Rhino Explosive Boar horns did last month."
All three of them shuddered at just the thought of that meeting.
Shang Qinghua was up next, and he unloaded an assortment of small items from his pouches as he explained them. "After some talks with a merchant contact, he willingly parted with a stack of talismans designed to keep the victim awake long enough to be tortured." He paused, waiting for any outcry at the torture mention, before he went on and clarified, "I definitely didn't blackmail him for them."
Mu Qingfang, well aware of Shang Qinghua's questionable habits and tendencies by now, simply nodded and stroked his mustache in thought. His shixiong may be shady in his business dealings, but he brought great financial benefits to the sect, and didn't seem to have it in him to betray them. He was a good man, Mu Qingfang wasn't worried. Zhang Qingyan, meanwhile, didn't even seem to pick up on there being anything wrong with what the other man said, instead inspecting the markings on a talisman she took from him.
Moving onto the next pouch, the logistician pulled out a strange trinket, a small blue object with sharp edges. "This, from what I understand from my, uh, readings, is an Everwaking Star Fragment. If this is the object from legend, then it's said that it can dissolve in any liquid, and whoever drinks it is cursed to never sleep again. The last bearer of it, however, was asleep when I found it, next to them and not on their clothing of course, because I would never pickpocket someone who fell asleep poisoned or drunk at a bar. I’m not sure if they had used any of it before then."
Zhang Qingyan's eyes lit up at that, and she snatched it from his hands before he could even protest. "So if the entire thing dissolves in liquid, then what about one small portion of it? Could taking off just the corner of one spike cause eternal wakefulness for just a few days?!" She brought the object up to her eye level as she excitedly murmured to herself about the possibilities.
Of course she was too distracted to pick up on the implication of their shixiong pick-pocketing a drunk person, but again, he was a good guy, and that was none of Mu Qingfang's business.
Shang Qinghua wrapped up his presentation with his usual offerings of vitality enhancing incense sticks (which Mu Qingfang suspected he got from succubi) and what Shang Qinghua called "ground up coffee beans" that he got from trade in the south, but insisted were lackluster alone.
"Should we use Mu-shidi's strongly brewed tea as the base, or Zhang-shimei's great creation?"
Zhang Qingyan thought for a second, staring at the orange glowing bottle in front of her. "The tea. This stuff is pretty strong on its own, and will need to be diluted so that it doesn't automatically stop our hearts or melt our golden cores!"
Mu Qingfang poured the specially brewed tea into a container in the center of the table, and their experiments began.
Once a month, the peak lords from three of the most overworked peaks got together for a late night meeting. Their goal? Create a concoction that gives the drinker both wakefulness and energy to keep going and complete their mountain long list of duties and obligations.
Shang Qinghua called it a quest for the "Monster Energy Drink", which seemed like a fitting name in Mu Qingfang's opinion.
It had started a few years ago, with the doctor approaching the alchemist for something to enhance the tea he already took to keep himself awake for days on end. Things had snowballed when he had accidentally served it to the logistician after helping repair a broken leg. From there, an alliance was born.
Mu Qingfang was a doctor. He knew that it was important to maintain one's body, and that rest and rejuvenation were vital to keeping one's mind sharp. He said as such to Liu Qingge every time the man crashed into the clinic. But Mu Qingfang was also the head doctor of a peak of learning medics, peak lord on a mountain of reckless disciples (and peak lords), in a region of land where people were constantly getting infected or sick.
As much as he knew rest was important, he knew that sometimes, working and saving lives was even more important.
And thus: monstrous energy drink.
Adding the glowing orange liquid into the tea, even just a few drops of it, made the tea go from a dull brown to a glowing dark green. As Zhang Qingyan used her spare potions to work out the right consistency, Mu Qingfang removed some of the monster eyes from a jar and ground it up in his mortar and pestle, and Shang Qinghua attached the energy talisman to the side of the experiment container and dropped a few ground coffee beans in. A moment later, he lit one of the incense sticks and fanned the smoke into the container for a moment before extinguishing it.
After adding the crushed eye to the mixture, it became a brighter shade of green. And when Zhang Qingyan chipped off a corner of Everwaking Star Fragment into the mix, the glow began to pulse.
Having added all they wished to add, and the liquid having not exploded on them yet, they stared at their pulsing creation in awe. Mu Qingfang felt like they had created a forbidden substance.
"That genuinely looks radioactive" Shang Qinghua muttered to himself, like that was a word that made sense. "If a disciple drank this, they'd probably never close their eyes again."
"If a disciple got their hands on this, they would either qi deviate on the spot or enter a coma with their eyes frozen open," Mu Qingfang replied to the only part he actually understood. He couldn’t even begin to fathom how he’d treat that level of…poisoning? in his clinic beyond drastic measures.
"Well, we added all we planned to this beauty and didn't stop to test it along the way, so who knows if it's safe," Zhang Qingyan said as she scooped an empty bottle into the container. Shang Qinghua’s bagged eyes went wide at the sight of the bottle in her hand having the same bright green pulsing glow as the source potion.
"Zhang-shimei, I'm not sure you should-" Mu Qingfang tried to warn, but as always at these meetings, his warnings were not enough to stop the brewmaster from closing her eyes and taking a swig from her glowing bottle.
Shang Qinghua, who usually had pretty controlled (if extreme) facial expressions, seemed to mirror Mu Qingfang's open shock and horror at the move.
A full body shudder racked through Zhang Qingyan, and her eyes flew open with a start. Her vision was unfocused, but then her expression slowly raised to an almost unhinged grin as she stared at the bottle in front of her. Her breathing had noticeably sped up, both audible and from how her shoulders heaved with the motion.
"Boys," she started, not removing her hazy eyes from what she clearly considered her magnum opus. "Prepare to never need to sleep again."
She raised a hand to wipe away at her lip, and already it was shaking so badly that she had trouble aiming for her face.
Mu Qingfang reached for the notepad he kept in his pocket, and recorded down what had been added to the mixture and the immediate side effects. He made sure to note down the violent shaking and lack of focus it had brought his fellow peak lord with three lines under it, and an arrow for good measure.
Shang Qinghua also noticed the quivering. "Oh. Hm. Well, I can't have hands that shake that badly, or I'm gonna have some trouble filing our taxes," he said, laughing as if that were a joke. He pulled some melon seeds out from a bag in his pocket and began to snack and think.
Mu Qingfang was also thinking. There must be an herb or something in this house strong enough to make an impact in this hellish drink they created, one that could stabilize hands and make the sudden onset of energy less overwhelming.
Zhang Qingyan likely was not thinking of solutions, as she was clearly too busy acclimating to the energy rush to think at the moment.
Hand paused halfway to his mouth, Shang Qinghua got an idea. "Mu-shidi, didn't you work with Lin-shimei to make a calming supplement for some raging beasts on Xi Jiao a week or so ago?" He asked, despite having organized the material transfer and thus knowing the answer.
Lin Qingpen, of the agricultural peak Min Nong, was a major help with Mu Qingfang's herb gardens. While her peak covered all kinds of vegetation as opposed to Qian Cao's medicinal focus, her affinity towards plants made it possible for Mu Qingfang to selectively breed for specific attributes of his herbs and plants in the first place.
Reaching into one of the main spacial pouches that he kept on his person, the doctor pulled out the package with Lin Qingpen's note of well wishes still attached. "Shang-shixiong is correct, and this one does in fact have some left over."
Shang Qinghua's eyes lit up at the sight of the pouch, and he rubbed his hands together in anticipation as he smiled. The gesture, for some reason, reminded Mu Qingfang of the over the top villains of the plays he used to watch as a child.
He has been planning on using this powder for experimenting on calming herbal remedies for troubled patients, but he can always request more from Lin Qingpen tomorrow. Mixing a pinch of it into a cup of water, he handed the cup to a still shaking Zhang Qingyan, who downed it without question and only minimal spilling.
"She's got more guts than I do," Shang Qinghua admitted, as if one's guts has anything to do with this experiment process beyond likely being damaged.
After downing the herbs strong enough to calm a rampaging Fire Tailed Dragon Horse down, the effects were almost as fast as those from the initial potion were. Her hands stopped shaking as badly, and her breathing slowed down. A few moments later, her eyes regained focus.
Eventually, she was in a normal enough state that it wouldn't be malpractice if Mu Qingfang needed to perform surgery while under this drink's effects.
"Oh yeah, it definitely needed something to act as a counterbalance, good call," she said as Mu Qingfang recorded the side effects down. "One of you should probably try it with the Restful Temperament leaves mixed in beforehand so we know if those should be taken separately or not."
There was a brief moment of uncomfortable eye contact between himself and Shang Qinghua. The doctor knew that, as suspicious as his business dealings and as often as his physical injuries, the man across from him at the table was a coward. Light glistened off of his face in a way that Mu Qingfang swore was dripping sweat, but he had no way to confirm since the light of the candles and the glowing energy drink were rather low. It was kind of pathetic to watch, in a way.
Sighing, he took an empty bottle from Zhang Qingyan's side of the table and scooped his own helping of the concoction. Dropping a hearty pinch of Restful Temperament Leaves into the bottle, he mixed it for a moment as he tried to wrap his head around what he was about to do. At least it caused no visible changes to the already strange looking drink…
Stored in a hidden pouch against his breast were a handful of incredibly rare panacea style substances that fully cured the body of any curse or poison that may be contaminating it. It didn't work on injuries, and the peak lord only used them for what he deemed catastrophic level emergencies.
He wondered if drinking a glowing liquid in the name of science and staying awake counted as an emergency.
"Oh come on Mu-shixiong, don't back out now," Zhang Qingyan crowed with an almost predatory smile, sensing his weakness. "We've definitely drank way worse drinks at this same table before, right Shang-shixiong?!" She leaned over and elbowed the logistics peak lord, who looked like one more strong elbow to the side would knock him down for good. The other man nodded with a nervous looking smile, still staring at the glowing creations before him.
Staring at the ominous elixir in front of him, he let out a sigh. He couldn't believe he was sometimes referred to as the most responsible of the peak lords.
He took a drink from the bottle.
The first thing he had to note: it tasted abhorrent. He knew it wouldn't be pleasant, given the mix of random plants and monster parts that had been added, but this was leagues worse than even his worst expectations. Despite having a strong stomach, he fought off the urge to throw up and demand to know what Zhang Qingyan had put into the base potion.
Instead, he forced it down with a grimace and mentally mapped every place in the leisure house that stored medicine to help soothe stomach issues. He could have sworn he felt it bubbling all the way down, despite its lack of bubbles, and felt his veins and bloodstream light up as if electrocuted. The fact that Zhang Qingyan had downed this with a straight face was both terrifying and impressive.
Luckily, his mind stayed as sharp as ever, and his hands had no notable shake to them. He made sure to note down these effects and mix some of the Restful Temperament Leaves into the base container of the substance.
"That seems to be as good of a balance as we are going to get," Mu Qingfang announced to both of the peak lords watching him in anticipation and dread.
Zhang Qingyan let out a cheer and took another swig from her Restful-temperament-free bottle, immediately causing her hands to start shaking again.
Shang Qinghua let out a sigh of relief as he bottled his own share of the energy granting monstrosity they had just created. With a quick sip, he muttered “tastes almost like actual monster energy” while shuddering. "Of course, we'll have to keep in touch about potential side effects," he said louder, staring at his bottle and likely calculating ways to market, mass produce, and sell it off if it didn't cause deadly effects.
Mu Qingfang knew that Zhang Qingyan had some pretty strong hangover cure potions that she had amplified, and that Shang Qinghua had poison curing artifacts from grateful trade partners. If there truly were adverse effects, they should be fine, but it'd be important to note for the next time they made an experiment or if Shang Qinghua decided to sell it.
Zhang Qingyan bottled the rest of the container and divided it up between the three of them. "Well boys, barring any unknown side effects, I think we just stumbled across the perfect energy drink." She declared.
Mu Qingfang knew better though. He knew they would find even better energy and sleep alternatives before the month was over. "Same time next month?"
The other two, stashing away their personal bottles, started to pack their things. "Oh yeah, this was just the prototype," Zhang Qingyan laughed as she stood from the table. "Improvements can always be made, we can't be falling asleep during next month’s Immortal Alliance Conference, after all!"
Shang Qinghua let out what may be a nervous laugh as he agreed, but Mu Qingfang was sure it was just the lack of sleep getting to him.
"If we don't see each other again, I'll see you all at the immortal alliance conference," he promised, with affirmations from the other two as they made their way out into the night.
With pleasant calls of farewell made and his leisure house evacuated, Mu Qingfang stared down at the concoction in front of him.
He was a doctor, he knew how important sleep was, and how vital it was to not drink random glowing potions of haphazard mixes of items. And he knew that, as an immortal, he didn't truly need to sleep. But he did need to focus, and he did have work to do.
He took a second swig from the bottle and stood, clearing everything else off of the table. He had the feeling some emergency would be calling him to the clinic any minute now, despite it being well into the night. It had been too calm for too long, which typically meant trouble on Qian Cao.
Extinguishing the lights, Mu Qingfang headed off into the night. His exit left nothing behind save the energy drink, alone and glowing on his table, a soft pulsing light beckoning to any unfortunate disciples who may see it come morning.

SVSSS Fic Recs for Friends
Putting the links and a brief description below the cut to avoid clogging the feed. I'll come back and update this as I find more/have time to find and add them in . ^_^
A Child Once by Tossawary - Teen+, Moshang, Bingqiu
Shang Qinghua is cursed to become a child again, with no memory of Mobei-Jun or of his life in this world, and many long-held secrets come tumbling out for both transmigrators.
Cold Hands, Warm Heart by Zizzani - Teen+, Moshang, bg Bingqiu
Shang Qinghua and Mobei-jun have their spiritual powers sealed before getting dumped in a white-out snowstorm. Mobei-jun quickly learns that humans are far more susceptible to the cold than he thought.
High Mountain, How I Long by Minimalistless - M, Bingqiu
Shen Qingqiu, after enduring his trial, is placed into Luo Binghe’s custody at Huan Hua Palace.
When I Speak, Will You Listen? by ForgottenVice - T+, Bingqiu
To speak things into existence was a talent only those who cultivated were able to do. [....] Shen Yuan been too young to use words of power, so they had taken his away
AN IDIOT'S GUIDE TO A HAPPY MARRIAGE by tagteamme - E, Moshang, bg Bingqiu
Modern AU - In order to pay off a debt that's not his, Shang Qinghua agrees to marry a man that's as cold and unyielding as he is stupidly rich.
Icing the Cherry by minhyukwithagun (deadlylampshades) E, Moshang, bg Binqiu
PWP In which SQH desperately wants to get laid, haha.
Wife Swap by LuckyLuoc - E, LB/SQQ, MBJ/SQH, LB/SQH, MBJ/SQQ
In which Mobei-Jun and Luo Binghe fall into another wife plot and swap bodies, much to Shang Qinghua and Shen Qingqiu's distress.
so you have a bad day by tagteamme - E, Moshang, bg Bingqiu
Shang Qinghua is not stupid.
It does not take a genius to know what it means when you ask a servant where your lord has left to and they readily supply the name of an exclusive brothel in between the two realms. Especially when it's after your utterly disastrous first time together.
So he goes away for a bit to clear his head. And promptly gets kidnapped.
you still eat away at me by martyrsdaughter - T, Moshang, bg Bingqiu
Eleven years after losing touch with his former boarding school roommate, Shang Qinghua encounters him in a bar, all grown up and in need of his help.
He's a simple man. From the moment he said yes, he should have known he didn't stand a chance.
That's NOT A REAL TROPE you Hack Author! by Boom_After_Dark (Boomchick) - E, Moshang, Bingqiu
So. It turns out that Shang Qinghua was taking commissions on the side to write fanfiction of his own novel. Truly, his shamelessness knows no bounds, ect., ect., what else is new?! The problem is, now the System has found those stories, and shoved them in the middle of Shen Qingqiu's Happy Ever After!
We are Not Wise by Boomchick, Suzoomie - T, Bingqui, Shen Yuan & Shen Qingqui
Transmigrated into a version of Proud Immortal Demon Way where cultivators manifest their own souls into spiritual weapons, Shen Yuan finds himself sort of kind of…accidentally blackmailing Shen Qingqiu into taking him on as a disciple before Luo Binghe joins the sect.
That should give Shen Yuan plenty of opportunities to make sure nothing goes wrong for his favorite protagonist, right? RIGHT!?
A story of twists, turns, hope, despair, and soul swords.
Cold Brew by Neyasochi - E, Moshang, side Bingqiu
Modern AU, unfinished - Shang Qinghua works a day job that doesn't quite pay the bills and churns out several popular web novels for supplemental income; somewhere along the way, his quiet crush on a very cool, very intimidating customer begins to seep into his works.
Or, the one where Shang Qinghua unwittingly starts basing several of his side characters and romantic interests on Mobei Jun.
Living With a Tiger by x_los - E, Bingqiu
Shen Yuan has been engaged to Emperor Luo Binghe from almost the hour of his birth. He grows up knowing his place in the world exactly; he is far less certain of his place in his betrothed's guarded affections.
A Deer in Headlights by NeonCandies - E, Mobei/Shang Q./ Original Luo Binghe
Mythology AU, In progress - SQH transmigrates into a mythical creature that happens to have exactly what Luo Binghe needs to counterbalance the effects of Xin Mo. Threesome ensues, lol
Spill the Tea by tabulaxrasa - E, Bingqiu, bg Moshang
Shen Qingqiu has learned his lesson and had enough of misunderstandings and miscommunications. He would actually like nothing better than to tell Binghe who he is, really, and where he comes from-- all of it. In fact, he's been trying for years. But every time he tries, he's still blocked by the System.
So... maybe it's time to shut down the System.
He Was Made For Untidy Rooms and Rumpled Beds by Bluethursday - E, Bingqui Shen Qingqiu kind of, sort of, does not have the same modesty standards as a xianxia novel set in some form of Ancient China? He also hates the heat, who knew right?
Bend, So I Don't Break by Camorra - T, Bingqiu
After escaping the Abyss, Binghe uses an artifact to sneak back onto the peak to see how his Shizun fares.
Idle Dream // 闲梦 by tarkus -- M, Moshang, side Bingqiu
the one where Shang Qinghua dreams, and Mobei Jun yearns
A Transmigrator and a Time Traveler Walk Into the Bamboo House by VeryCharismaticDragon - T, Bingqiu
A story in which post-Abyss Luo Binghe relives his disciple days, while juggling his secrets, traumas, and some unexpected revelations about the man he loves on top of that.
since you could endure my bitter cold by hanxues - T, Moshang, bg Bingqui
Shang Qinghua is tasked to stay by Mobei-Jun's side until his memories return. The twist? He technically does not own the memories that the Cryo Archon wants from him.
The Shang Qinghua Effect by Yuu_chi - E, Moshang, side Bingqiu
Shang Qinghua knows better than anybody that he doesn’t get a second look so long as Shen Yuan is around.
Shadows can bleed by SenZen_Travers - E, original LBH/original SQQ
Set after Original!Luo Binghe's visit to Shen Yuan's timeline.
Shen Qingqiu owes everything to Luo Binghe, and Luo Binghe is determined to get it all. When he resurrects his master, it's to make him into the kind Shizun he saw in another world, the one who loved this meek version of himself.
Of course, Shen Qingqiu isn't that sweet - nor that harmless.
every star in the sky by haysel - T, Moshang, bg Bingqui
Shang Qinghua doesn't have a romantic soulmate. He meets Mobei Jun. He doesn't have one either.
The Most Ordinary Flower of Cang Qiong by isianobasho - E, Moshang
Shang Qinghua is an unpopular prostitute in an upscale brothel. His dreary everyday becomes much more interesting with an arrival of a demanding but so very handsome customer, that favors him exclusively.
Stepping Up by Tossawary - M, Moshang
Shang Qinghua accidentally brings Luo Binghe in as a disciple of An Ding Peak instead of Qing Jing Peak. Thankfully, there don't seem to be any requirements that he step up and become the new villainous mentor figure, so he decides to ignore the problem until further notice. Luo Binghe looking up to him is a dangerous sign. But as long as he keeps young Luo Binghe and Mobei-Jun away from each other, everything should be fine, right?
To Conquer an Emperor by zarasu - E, Bingqiu
(ongoing) Transmigrating into the stallion novel he hates most is bad enough, but why did it have to be into the body of one of the protagonist's wives? Shen Yuan spends exactly two months dealing with harem intrigues, sullen maids and his husband utterly ignoring him before he decides to go on an extended holiday. Very extended. Surely no one will care if he just forgets about being married and becomes a cultivator, right? …Right?
fuel the embers with the flames of your soul by MissParasol - M, Bingqiu
(Abandoned?) Trapped in Huan Hua’s Water Prison, Shen Yuan’s illness from his previous life relapses.
Shen Yuan's School for Unrepentant Assholes by TGP - M, Bingqui
(Ongoing) Shen Yuan has been dealt a rough hand at the beginning of his life. Then he gets sort of adopted by Shen Qingqiu, who desperately needs someone to help smooth out his interpersonal relationships. Thankfully, Shen Yuan is awesome at understanding people and what they want! ... (Or, a drama of errors with comedic moments, exploring the growing relationship between an unforgiving misanthrope with serious issues and a traumatized kid that just wants to teach him what family means (and maybe learn it, himself))
The Moon's Beloved Shadow by mofumofu - E, Binqui, XueJiu
Shen Qingqiu is a man who hides his twin brother from the world with the ferocity of a phoenix-eyed mother crane.
Shen Yuan is a helpless transmigrator who wishes Airplane-bro had given even a single bit of backstory for this side character he's inhabiting!
Luo Binghe isn't doomed to face the Endless Abyss, but he is forced to confront something infinitely more frustrating: an overly protective brother.
-------
Entirely Out of Spite by Bgtea - Teen+, Zhongchili
(Technically not SVSSS but very much inspired by it)
SVSSS inspired Genshin fic where the main character, Ajax, wakes up in the body of the scum villain Tartaglia and he has to figure out how to not die a gruesome death.

For the ask game: 16, 32 and 41. I hope you are taking care of yourself <3
thaaank youuuu <3
16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?
Hmm. So I'm assuming you're talking about fic ideas that I'm currently actively rotating in my mind, instead of just, like, every fic idea I've ever wanted to expand (this number is countable but man am I not willing to count it).
We've currently got at least three that are in regular rotation, but for the sake of talking about something that I haven't talked about on this blog before, we'll go with a rarer one.
It's another transmigrator story where a canon fodder bastard prince, after being shipped out to fuck-knows-where, decides he is DONE with this shit and opts out of the cutthroat succession fight of his siblings by convincing/contracting some people to act as his family so he can pretend he is a Normal Commoner Man, who, like all Normal Commoner Men, has zero ties to royalty.
Nobody believes this, but, you know. Plausible deniability + one less competitor to the throne, so whatever. The goal is found family (literally) and identity shenanigans. You know, if I ever write this.
32. Name three of your favorite fanfic writers
Ahaha man, this is hard. Okay, so at the moment, it's probably Tossawary, Misfit_McCoward, and nirejseki. I get very excited when I see updates from any of these.
41. Do you tend to reread fics or are you a one-and-done kind of person?
Yeah, I reread. A lot. Sometimes, you want something nice and familiar and comforting, you know?
send me an ask!

Cry for beta
Hello all who can read my posts here. Beginning from this May, I dab in writing and translation of SVSSS fanfiction, and publish on AO3 both in my native language and in English.
As of now, there are 2 finished and 1 ongoing translation of SVSSS fics by Mayvn and Tossawary from EN to my language, but I write my own stories too, and then translate them into English. There is ongoing maxi time-travel MoShang fix-it With your own two hands (DIY), beginning of its side story Their well-deserved "Happily Ever After", and standalone one-chapter art-based fic (also MoShang) Live!
However, my English language skills are far from perfect, so my translations are... how to say... lack some finess, albeit they are better than machine translation.
To my surprise, I have got more attention and popularity for translations, look here (the same story in different languages is marked with the same color):
Tumblr media
I am much less sure in quality of my English texts, and worry that there are some stilistic errors, grammar mistaces, and not precise wording. I find such "bugs" even in my original text even after its correction by co-author/beta and publication, and I am NOT fluent in English.
So, I'd like to ask if anyone here is both fan of SVSSS and has good written English skills, so they can beta my works?

Pleas don't be shy to contact me here, or comment on AO3.

I think SVSSS as a 2D cartoon would be the best moving medium for it imo.
I mean, personally, yeah, that's how I'd enjoy seeing it as well! My ideal slightly pretentiously artsy SVSSS screen adaptation would probably look only a little more detailed than linograph prints (2D or shaded 3D?) (someone hit me up in like two weeks to draw an example of what I mean, if I don't remember on my own, I don't have access to art stuff right now), very stylized and vibrantly colorful, because that's one of the art styles that I particularly enjoy.
I'm not a personally a fan of the 3D SVSSS show because I find the characters a little too doll-like and same-facey for my tastes? It's fine! It works! It's serviceable! It's just all, backgrounds included, a little... safe? I tend to like over-the-top bright colors and intricate details and impractically weird shapes and yet also coherent world production design in my fantasy, which is a lot to demand of any production, perhaps especially with animation productions, which are always squeezed for time and money.
(EDIT: I know the SVSSS show was under heavy constraints and the results are impressive considering their resources; it doesn't change the fact that I just don't like the art style and nevertheless find the results underwhelming. I don't like a lot of "realistic" modeling / rendering styles, not just "anime" ones, even if they are extremely technically impressive. Believe me when I say that I know the vast majority of the entertainment industry is overworked and underpaid and creatively restrained.)
Slightly tangential general note: I don't think 2D is inherently superior to 3D (EDIT: NOT trying to imply asker is saying this, just having some general thoughts), especially because, with the realities of production, each have their advantages. 2D has a lot of stylistic advantages still, but 3D shaders are catching up and doing some incredible things these days! More advanced puppet controls and particle effects and such are doing some beautiful things for 2D shows as well these days. A lot of stuff has been subtly mixed media as soon as 3D became possible. It is potentially possible (note: not saying any studio would actually greenlight this) to do an equally slightly weird and artistically stunning 3D SVSSS show, given the freedom to work. (Good boarding and writing is also sooooo important in both mediums, obviously, it's not just about the art design. You can get away with incredibly limited animation with good boarding, writing, and art design.)
Another slightly tangential ramble: both 2D and 3D have the potential for stiff animation and poor character acting, which also comes down to production limits and animator skills? (I often think of character animators as a type of actor!) There are a lot of 2D shows that I don't really like because I find the animation incredibly stiff, both puppet and handdrawn (there's great 2D puppet stuff out there these days), which pretty much always comes down to production limits (deadlines and budget and software, saving up their animation for the coolest scenes). One of my favorite things about Studio Ghibli films (which as features get a lot more space to focus on art compared to the demands and restraint of television) has always been the squash and stretch in otherwise relatively realistic action, making things like hugs look SO nice for example. But 3D stuff is getting better at that these days! The ways characters slumped into each other in "Nimona" for example was great. And it's just fascinating to look at the elasticity / stylized sculpt of expressions in "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish" compared to the technical limits of the models / rigs in "Shrek" or "Shrek 2".
Adding these side notes because I want to be clear about my respect for both 2D and 3D artistically! A lot of video games are doing cool stuff in 3D that looks very close to 2D with stylized shaders, which you can sometimes spot by the large or small rotations in character action / acting, which is difficult (and therefore often expensive) to do in 2D with all of those extra drawings / angle poses. Also, I think the current push towards funky shaders in 3D is so cool and it's hard not to gush about them!!!

Possible project list ramblings
Stories I'd like to podfic:
What else is there? By ForgottenVice It has always been you by ULTIOcean hey, share the weight a little by Tossawary A Child Once by Tossawary Scum Villain AUs by Feynite [Ch 23 Stardew/harvest moon; Ch 34-35 Free Guy]
ForgottenVice's What else is there? made me all kinds of happy to read. The 1994 animated film of the Swan Princess was probably one of my absolute favorite movies growing up, so I have a soft spot for Swan Princess fandom adaptations. I honestly can't remember if I've asked permission to do this one yet, so we'll probably drop a comment on the fic at some point soon because I do think I'd like to podfic this one.
So far, I have the blessing for ULTIOcean's fic, It has always been you (which I adored reading while it was being posted). I am beyond grateful for the permission. It is, however... an intimidating sized story (361,825 words!) and over 3 times the size of anything I've done as of yet. This project, if I decide to tackle it, will likely take many, many hours over many, many weeks (months? years?) to complete. That knowledge alone is pretty daunting! ULTIOcean, your fic is a behemoth! ˚‧º·(˚ ˃̣̣̥᷄⌓˂̣̣̥᷅ )‧º·˚
Why Tossawary's fics? Well, besides the fact that everything I've read by Tossawary has been adorable and heartwarming, I've been told my SQH voice is uniquely good? Either way, I'd love an opportunity to exercise that character voice. He's fun to do. I've asked Tossawary for their blessing, so, we'll see?
As for Feynite's Scum Villain AUs - these are more of a pipe dream. I adore the Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon games (150+ hrs spent on Stardew alone, ah, woops?). They're so relaxing and low pressure. I also absolutely loved the Free Guy chapters Feynite wrote. Alas, I have two basic rules for stories I will podfic and I don't think these will ever meet either of those requirements.
My rules, in case you are wondering: 1. The fic must be a completed work (or a completed part of a work). 2. I want author's explicit permission to narrate their story.
• Why the fic needs to be complete? I don't want to start something and stop in the middle. I'm a completionist. If I start something I want to finish it. Also, I don't want there to be a big gap between recordings. Life circumstances change. The sound might suddenly change drastically between an earlier recording and a later one. I at least want the sound to be relatively consistent within a story/work.
• Why do I want author permission? So, yeah, I know a lot of the big-name authors (looking at you, Feynite, you magnificent writer, you) have notes in their profiles giving blanket permission for other creators to make sequels, inspired stories, or podfics of their works, etc - still, I really prefer permission from the author before I start a project like this.
This gives the author the opportunity to tell me if they know whether someone else might be working on one of their stories. I don't want to podfic something someone else might already be working on. For me, at least, the time commitment for a project is pretty huge. I'm not interested in doubling up on content. The idea of "version comparisons" gives me far too much anxiety.
It also gives the author an opportunity to tell me if they want something stated or worded in a particular way when I'm giving credit.
This rule might change if my feelings shift on this - but for now, I'd like an author's expressed permission to narrate their works.

“...Why?”
“Because you’re our son,” Shang Qinghua tells him, gripping his shoulders tightly. “Because you were a child who needed us. Because you didn’t ask for the world to be this way. Because you’re brave and kind and clever, and have a good heart, and you don't deserve to lose it. Because our lives have been so much better than they would have been without you.”
Binghe sobs, hands brushing over tears that just keep coming.
So I re-read "Pride is not the word I'm looking for" over the past two days, and it's genuinely the best fanfiction I think I've ever read. The plot development, the character development, the worldbuilding-- every bit of it is absolutely amazing. This combined with it being @tossawary's birthday recently made me want to try my hand at drawing one of the absolute central scenes of the story so far. PINTWILF is a fucking joy to read, it inspires me to push my own creative abilities with writing and art, and I just really REALLY love this story about a man finding connections, love, and meaning in the life he's built.

Hey hun! Reminding you about that Moshang list like you asked!
Sorry this took so long, I ran out of energy and didn’t get any more until like, yesterday. Okay, so! Moshang fic recs!!
AN IDIOT’S GUIDE TO A HAPPY MARRIAGE by tagteamme. Chapters: 8/8, words:  156,680
Summary:  In order to pay off a debt that's not his, Shang Qinghua agrees to marry a man that's as cold and unyielding as he is stupidly rich.
Vod Notes: I’m not normally one for modern AU’s, but there’s just something about aspiring CEO MBJ and flat out broke SQH somehow wiggling his way into his heart that gets to me. The characterizations in this story are flawless, and the customary Moshang miscommunication/misunderstanding had me tearing out my hair at several points, yelling at these two dumbasses; and that’s how you know it’s a good one. 9/10 because I experienced lots of stress while reading this, which actually is a sign of a fantastic story, I’m just really weak and pathetic and immerse myself in reading way too much, so actually 11/10! Depends on how you look at it I suppose lol
a rose by any other name by sarahyyy. Chapters 1/1, words: 6,795
Summary: The one where Shang Qinghua suddenly becomes Prime Demon Marriage Material™ (bc of the LBH/SQQ marriage).
Vod Notes: somft. MBJ just loves SQH so very much, and SQH is pining ad dense as fuck. The perfect Moshang fic recipe. They are warm, soft, clueless idiots in this while still somehow being entirely competent, and we love to see that. SQH is a man made of contingency plans <3 I love it when authors do my son justice. 10/10
How to Panic Your Demon King by StarlightLion. Chapters: 1/1, words: 7,816
Summary: Mu Qingfang is starting to wonder if this is a requirement to be a demon lord. At least this one isn't kidnapping him.
Vod Notes: A delicious one shot about MBj worrying about the love of his life, who is a strong, dedicated, talented man who has an unfortunate training mishaps and then tries to cover it up bc he’s also dumb and doesn’t want to worry anyone. Stupid man. SQH we love you pls take care of yourself. You’re giving your husband grey hairs. A special treat toward the end with a MQF POV! My sexy doctor man is exasperated and done with everything. 10/10
it must follow, as the night the day by Tossawary. Chapters: 7/7, words: 26,342
Summary: Airplane Bro transmigrates into his own web-novel only to find out that the System messed up his world! Shang Qinghua is a demon in this world! All the characters supposed to be humans are demons in this world! And all the characters supposed to be demons are...?
Vod Notes: You simply cannot go wrong with Tossawary. They have the most scrumptious servings of Moshang in all the land. For this specific one, we’re gifted with a lovely Role Reversal AU! It’s got everything! Demon!SQH who is a absolute mess of a man? Serious cultivator MBJ who is stoic and cold but has the heart of a hero (or just a heart hardwired for SQH specifically)? Espionage? Feed it to me slowly like grapes. 11/10
You Will Never Step Lightly in the Dark by Janusoverlord. Chapters: 11/11, words 57,218
Summary: Shang Qinghua wakes up in the aftermath of Tianlang-Jun's rampage on Cang Qiong Mountain and has to navigate the delicate political situation he now finds himself in. Luo Binghe is building a harem with Shen Qingqiu as his first, and honestly most terrifying, husband. Yet, Luo Binghe seems to be turning his eyes to Shang Qinghua as a possibility as well. Excuse you? What is this? He didn't sign up for this!
Vod Notes: holy fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck this one blew my entire mind! Not only do we have SQH looking out for number one (which is himself, bless you my son) when shit turns strictly bad, but we have a absolutely, one of a kind, PHENOMENAL badass SQQ who is supporting his bro and fucking shit up left and right and everywhere for Airplane’s sake. God. This was like drinking fine wine. Breathtaking, spectacular. My life has been changed. MBJ spends most of this being a big, sulky, upset mess but don’t worry, cucumberplane fixes that up themselves. LBH get’s put in time out by both his husbands (because this is LBH/SQQ/LQG), because he fucks up in this majorly and SQQ isn’t fucking happy and doesn’t let him get away with it just because he gives him the puppy eyes and I AM LIVINGGGGGGGGG!! TLDR: simply superb badass cucumberplane, sad boy MBJ hours, and LQG gets stuck with babysit the naughty demon king duty. VERDICT: umm?! 7000/10
A Queen’s Trials (And How to Speedrun Them) by daddykeehl. Chapters: 1/8(as of 4/17/21), words: 25,000.
Summary: Shang Qinghua is now well on his way to the same happily-ever-after that every protagonist gets, but two things stand in his way. The Queen's Trials, and a council that just won't give up. Too bad for them, they really don't know who they're dealing with.
Vod Notes: Sorry I can’t hear any of your questions over the loud, shrill screams of my absolute LOVE for this story. it’s not finished, no, but it’s set up in arcs per chapter, so I’m fine with waiting for the next one to come along, and so will you if you read this. Because, lemme tell you. Fucking amazing. An SQH who knows everything about the North? He’s God, dammit, why wouldn’t he? Using that to his advantage? Not just to prolong his life, but to legally win the right to marry MBJ. God, this story is just absolutely breathtaking. I was speechless when I got to the end of chapter one. The sheer level of worldbuilding! Catch me with actual hearts in my eyes. The small DETAILS! The magnificently built OCs! The culture, the writing! The character interactions! SQH goes around accidentally winning the lifelong loyalty of every badass, OP demon in the Northern realm. I am still screeching. daddykeehl you’re my number one. fucking 200k/10 heart eyes emoji, heart eyes emoji (also, it’s part of a series! The story before this one, Quick, Easy Steps To Realizing You’re The Queen Consort, is also VERY good.)

Can't remember if I sent another prompt you haven't answered yet or not ^^'. So have a new one ! SQH is paranoid and over-prepared. As such he carries on him at all time so many knives. And talisman. And cures for poisons. Then he has a meeting with another sect where no weapons are allowed. Cue him removing them all (or most of them) in front of others, and being surprised it's not the norm (it's a ridiculous world ! why wouldn't you carry 5 swords at all time, even if you rarely use them ?)
Sorry for the lateness, things have been a bit crazy at my job. That said, this will probably be the last of the prompts I do. Thank you for giving me all those awesome ideas! As for the prompt... it may have gone it’s own way on me here... (I might have been inspired by Tossawary again... Go check out their fics, they are the most addicting~)

So...  ‘Peace Talks’... between Huan Hua Palace and Anqiu Shrine Hall...
Shang Qinghua has to wonder why this is his life?! Why does that fucking creep of an Old Palace Master have to go pissing off the one Sect in his entire world that Really shouldn’t be fucked with? Is it the strongest or most formidable? No, but it’s strengths in healing and Alchemy are unparalleled the world over. Too the point even demons don’t fuck with it, seeing as the Shrine Hall treats everyone, no matter the blood or look, as long as one has not committed the ‘Great Sins’ as they call it.
(Most of which boils down to ‘Don’t be a dick’ and ‘CONSENT DAMIT!!’. Airplane may not have created them, but damn does he feel respect for their work, and the history of just how they formed.)
But yes, the Old Palace Master is trying (key word on the trying) to manipulate the politics and polices of Anqiu Shrine Hall, especially the Free Healthcare and treating everyone, while Anqiu Hall wants to kick the Palace Master’s ass to next Sunday. (or as it is called here, the Day of Wind; yeah, cheating with time and calling weekdays after the elements may have not been his best idea, but it sure as heck worked, especially when he had to live with it.) And Anqiu has so many indebted to it, so many willing, both demon and cultivator alike, it could very, very easily wipe out Huan Hua Palace if it actually wished to.
It is also very, very lucky that the Shrine Hall does not blame the innocents learning their for their fucking Creep of a Sect Master’s conduct, and does not want to hurt them, no matter how arrogant they act. So, Cang Qiong Mountain Sect, which has been called to meditate between the two, would just like this to end peacefully and without a war between Sects threatening to rise please.
Which, hopefully if they play their cards right, they could push back at least another 25-50 years, and by then the Protagonist will wreck everything, driving it all moot. Shang Qinghua prays for that day to come so much; he really, really didn’t think, with all the cultivation sects he made as Airplane, that so many of them would be capable of starting so much shit with each other like this. They were just there to trouble the Protagonist, not each other! Stop making him get more paperwork! He is really sick of seeing Yue Qingyuan’s despairing smile shared with his own face!
But as it is, they are still causing problems now, which leads him back in the circle of the topic he has been avoiding; The Peace Talks that Cang Qiong Sect with be leading, with himself, Yue Qingyuan, Shen Qingqiu, and Mu Qingfang as support and a healer’s take...
Shang Qinghua really, really wants to take all the knives he has and call it a day. That said, the last time he had, and had to take them all out before a meeting, because apparently no other weapons besides spiritual swords were allowed, and even then they had to be placed in front on the table as everyone talked. (which??? He didn’t get? Are you asking to be attacked??)
But with each weapon and deadly knife and trap he pulled out, Yue Qingyuan had used strained smile number 20, the one with a lot more despair and disbelief, not to mention the other blank looks he received from the rest of the sects in that meeting, nor how they casually backed away when Shang Qinghua finally finished disarming... and Shen Qingqiu had actually looked thoughtful and approving...
So, only taking along several of his more of his useful and sneaky knives, to at least make him feel better if nothing else, Shang Qinghua goes for more of a stealth idea this time, with a focus on defense.
Multiple Evil Repealing Talismans, along with useful tracking, poison repel and barrier will at least be able to work to his favor, and if need be, he can use the sandwich method to squish any foes, while also able to knock back any healing items away form them, with a easy fix to the poison repel. It can, if he has time for it, even make it to where any buffs or healing a person does to themselves reverse, rapidly, leaving them weaker then they were at base health.
The tracking talismans are of course for him to place on everyone in the room, just so he can know just what everyone is doing if they plan to become a threat and all.
Thinking about it, Shang Qinghua can’t help but be pleased, as while having many knives on one person is nice, it is even better to have a near endless supply of Talismans on his person. That he can even make more if needed is just a bigger plus in his book as well, as if you lose a knife, there is very little chance of getting it back unless you have a return seal on them.
But as it is, if he runs out of Qi... hmmm. Ah!
Getting out some of his jewelry, Shang Qinghua gets to work.
Some Pills already look gem-like, why not make use of that? messing with some of the rings students have made, Shang Qinghua has managed to incorporate numerous pills into his rings, hair ordainments, and even a few necklaces. Even a few elixirs were managed, with him sneaking it into one of his necklaces, while two others were added into some of his already hallowed hairpins!
It even looks cool, the clear jade casing to cover the pill fragrances causing a rather unique effect with the already beautiful top grade pills and crystal colored liquids. Very fitting as his station as a Peak Lord!
He was even able to sneak in some really deadly wires, replacing them with the strings with several necklaces! (of course, he makes sure to have a qi binding seal placed on them, dulling them until he is actually ready to pull them off; there is no need to take off his own head here, thank you very much.)
Looking at the outfit he has made for himself, Shang Qinghua can’t help the pleased smile on his face as he does.
At least with this, he will be prepared for most anything! Hmmm, he might even be able to go to the Northern Palace Court like this?
With that, Shang Qinghua is off, wondering what else he can do with his outfits.
(A lot, apparently)

Live action svsss? Lmao
Oh, that is genuinely funny to me as an idea. Full-on blue-screened me for a second.
See, I'm not AGAINST the concept of live-action feature film adaptations or live-action television adaptations of other forms of media, especially not books. I personally adore the translation work and studying the translation work involved when transforming a story from one medium to another. Basically as soon as we had film, people started filming plays and adapting novels! There have been many, many TERRIBLE screen adaptations of other media, but there have also been many wonderful screen adaptations, which have sometimes been closely faithful and sometimes only used the original story as an inspirational springboard. (I personally see both Ghibli's "Howl's Moving Castle" and DreamWorks' "How to Train Your Dragon" as more of examples of the latter.)
MXTX's works have gotten live-action adaptations before. "The Untamed" is generally held to be a pretty good and relatively faithful adaptation of MDZS. And TGCF is also getting a live-action drama under the name "Eternal Faith". If it was announced that SVSSS was getting a similar drama, I would be a little baffled but fine with it, and also genuinely interested to see how they intended on expanding SVSSS into 50 episodes or something (definitely possible), and also how they intended to cover certain parts of the story without making it explicitly gay. I wouldn't even care if it was bad; I still have the original books to enjoy. Show me your live-action drama Moshang. I'm ready for some awful wigs.
(The main nightmare scenario is getting a bad or good but unfaithful adaptation that you hate but gets super popular, overrunning your book fandom with alternate characterization and pairings and worldbuilding that you can't stand. I'm sure there are book MDZS fans who absolutely loathe "The Untamed".)
The main issue with a USAmerican studio making a "Naruto" movie in my eyes (I don't even care about "Naruto" that much, I never finished it) is that 1) Hollywood is always extremely weird about anime and also Japan in general, so there's a high chance that the people at the top try to make story-breaking changes, and also try to cast white people. They do not have a good record. If this was a Japanese studio making this film, I would not blink at it. 2) "Naruto" is a very long story that doesn't lend itself easily to a stand-alone film. Either they only tackle a fraction of the story or squish way too much together. And either way, on the off-chance that the film is successful, we will be cursed to have sequels until they become unprofitable. I personally liked the live-action "One Piece" show fine, but it was a 7-hour show, not a 2-3-hour film.
I'm not even against the concept of modern remakes, personally, or even completely against the concept of live-action versions of animated films. I would give the Disney remakes something of a pass if they did interesting new stuff that took advantage of their medium or actually indicated they cared about creative quality, instead of rehashing the cartoons almost exactly but worse. The saddest part about things like "The Lion King" (2019) is that even if you kept the story exactly the same, beat for beat, shot for shot, it could have potentially been a vibrant celebration of the advancements in realistic VFX and the skill of the animators and artists involved (and there are some INCREDIBLY talented people being unfairly crunched and underpaid in these industries), but they instead chose to make everything about it visually as dull as dishwater. And I personally expect that the "How to Train Your Dragon" remake, instead of incorporating anything new or interesting, or really showing off some spectacular, well-crafted visuals, will be the same.
Anyway, this ask gave me the idea of a USAmerican studio making a live-action SVSSS film, which is what blue-screened my brain. I cannot fathom how any USAmerican studio would agree to that (it's foreign, it's gay, it's historical fantasy, it's fucking weird, it's everything that scares boring execs who crave maximum profits) and I'm sure they would fuck it up magnificently, such that I almost kind of want them to do it.
