Mama Cee’s Pizzeria - Shop Rite of Franklin Plaza on Route 23 North in Franklin, NJ

I've been going to the plaza Mama Cee's is located in for a long time, and it wasn't until recently I realized it was even there. I of course couldn't wait long to give it a try and am definitely glad I went so soon. Initially, I was planning on just getting the Potato Skin Pizza (french fries, bacon, ranch, American cheese) which seems to be a signature slice of Mama Cee's. However, the plain was calling to me so I said why not and just got both. This was a good move on my part because had I just gotten the Potato Skin slice I would have walked away pretty disappointed. It was decent enough but the fries kinda dried it out and I am not a big fan of American cheese in general (and DEFINITELY don't need it on my pizza). The flavor just stomps all over everything else and I feel like the bacon and ranch flavors were pretty much nonexistent as a result. Had it been mozzarella or cheddar, I think it would've helped take this slice to the next level, but as is, it's only ok at best.

On the other hand, the plain slice was GREAT. Nice and cheesy with thin, light sauce just the way I like it. There really isn't much else that needs to be said about it, it was just a good slice of Jersey pizza. And cheap too! The two slices only ran me $6 which seems fair compared to how much some places charge these days. Sussex can be pretty hit or miss with its za, but Mama Cee's is one I have no problem recommending.
