Seeing people say Jinshi is not all that and how his relevance doesn’t make sense HURTS ME… 😓
Guys, he’s a complex character, trust me 💔💔
People often seem to forget that he’s not just a silly ‘airhead’ in love. Even Maomao MULTIPLE times acknowledges & mentions how scary and intelligent Jinshi is. Like, he realized Maomao was literate in the matter of a few mins and then he used that against her cuz he realized she must’ve been the one who warned Lady Gyoukyo
And then there’s just some people who hate him cuz he’s twisted & say that makes him a sh*tty leading character
Which i don’t get?? Of course the leads of a thriller mystery will be manipulative or sly. Or at the very least flawed to some capacity.
Even Maomao herself is almost equally twisted and tends to be self serving
Them both being flawed is what makes them intriguing characters. They both have their vices that they acknowledge - vices that add another layer of complexity upon their characters.
Do you imagine how uninteresting this series would become if Jinshi was seriously JUST a silly lover boy and Maomao was a simple girl ready to help ANYTIME AND ANY DAY instead of being the way she is?
This story’s charm comes not only just from the intriguing setting/mysteries but also how these flawed, yet interesting, characters act and think in said settings.

Outfit breakdowns for all of my Kirby hero of yore ocs! I don’t know if I can count Galacta (or Papi) as ocs but my interpretations are rather far from the source material at this point ^^;
First is Galacta, the Hero of Heart, who is the hero among heroes of the four of them. The most honored, the most gallant, the light and hope of Halcandra.
Second is Nebula, the Hero of Dream, who is a laid-back, mostly relaxed figure who is calm and kind. Though they can often be found napping in various locations around town, in battle, they are a fierce warrior, and are very protective of Galacta.
Third is Papilio, the Hero of Soul, also known to many as Lio, or by their personal name, Anax. They are the smallest and the youngest of the heroes, a prodigy with the blade, and known as the fastest and most light-footed of the heroes.
And finally, the Hero of Dark, whose true name is only known to their friends. They are the quietest of the heroes, and wield a spear, though most of their powers are long range magic.

Some more of the boy (Jesse Venetiaan from Third Wheel Strikes Back)
From what I remember reading, the fashion of the Holy Kingdom favored long robes, where the Empire in contrast sported short jackets and shirts. I'm thinking Rome vs German inspiration (and by Rome I really mean the Vatican and priest robes). According to the novel, Jesse normally wears clothes he brought with him, but he has occasion to wear the Empire's fashion at a couple points.

Math
Okay, so???? In the Twisted Wonderland light novel, the Ramshackle Ghosts claim that “more than 800 students had enrolled at Night Raven College”. Now, this could mean that 800 students is a minimum estimate and true number is much higher, or it could mean that the Ramshackle Ghosts are misremembering information/recalling information that was only relevant at the time they were alive and not at present, but for the sake of argument, let’s roll with 800 as our number.
800 is... a weirdly low number for a campus as big as NRC?????? Like, I understand that it’s a very prestigious school and that not many people are capable of using magic to begin with, but the campus is so large, has so many facilities, and entire pocket dimensions to house each dormitory that it seems excessive that they wouldn’t be able to host hundreds more. 800 is NOT a large number, especially considering that it is split between SEVEN dorms, across FOUR years (since the fourth-year students are away from campus on internships, but are still considered “enrolled” at the school). If we assume that there’s an equal divide (which I don’t believe there is in canon; Heartslabyul is said to be “overcrowded” compared to the other dorms because Riddle doesn’t let anyone fail, flunk, or drop out)... That’s only ~114 students in each dorm (800/7; ie 114 students in Heartslabyul, 114 students in Savanaclaw, etc.), and only ~29 students in each year for each dorm (114/4; ie 29 Heartslabyul first years, 29 Heartslabyul second years, etc.)
And if THAT’S true, then that makes what Azul did in episode 3 of the main story all the more terrifying??? It is explicitly stated in episode 3, chapter 10, that Azul has 225 students as indentured servants; if this is the case and we accept that NRC has roughly 800 students enrolled, then that means that Azul effectively got over a QUARTER of the student population under his thumb (~28%, 225/800).
Epel says that there are 200ish freshman and we learn in book 1 Heartslabyul has the most people/least number of dropouts, meaning the other dorms have less… so the distribution cannot be equal across the board, most students should be in Heartslabyul.
In conclusion, MATH MAKES NO SENSE WITH REALITY AND MY NAME IS NOW DEUCE SPADE.

Hello!! I saw your post about the game you're making - it sounded fascinating, and out of curiousity about a genre I don't know much about I got into a visual novel/dating sim related rabbit hole.
If you don't mind my asking, do you have any recommendations? VN or datesims or both! or any adjacents too.
(thank you, and good luck with the game!!)
YIPPEE!!!
i'm a huge fan of it gets so lonely here because it does a lot of cool things with the narration and multiple playthroughs. her tears were my light does similar things with the multiple playthrough thing and it was the first visual novel to really open my eyes to what the genre could be like! and because apparently today is horror yuri day i will add liar liar and liar liar 2. the artstyle is very cute! and there's blood!
for less horror yuri and more dating sim, i am currently completely obsessed with tokimeki memorial girls side 1-3, the dating sim/visual novel/stat-raising hybrid that inspired a lot of otome games—— and for good reason, too, because it's JUST THAT GOOD. i almost exploded something trying to play the fourth game but i will not let that stop me
in pure visual novel, i have to recommend heartbaked, it was one of those games i played in my free visual novel frenzy when i was younger and it really stuck with me! i still think about the radley ending.
i adore adore adore pacthesis games and i would love to direct you to my number one favourite and inspiration, number days sim date, because the intertwining of plot and romance and friendship was wonderful. xolga and mr toko is more point and click but check those out too
i love you was REALLY GOOD and i adored it. if you want proactive women and blushing boys this is the game for you! kill them with blushing right now
senpai please look at me was good!!! i love it! absolutely worth sticking around for all the bonuses! very short and sweet and you will love it
sweetest valentine is a game. in a genre called :). if you don't know what :) means don't worry about it!
play yuki 4p for lesbians and its sequel, scheme, for even more dumb lesbians. i am absolutely begging you to click those links because the names are too long for me to type out and i don't know if googling lesbians scheme will bring you to the masterpiece properly
hermes and gry is REALLY FUNNY but also one of those games that opened my mind to how complex the ren'py system could be. you made a map, a constantly-updated journal, an inventory, and the best damn ending ever? i was screaming when all my evil schemes came together. absolutely 10/10 worth it if the creator wants my liver i'd hand it over
hot coffee is SO SO SO good that i ended up reaching out to the creator just to praise it so much please play it please i'm on my knees please
speaking of games i am begging you to play
absolutely play i want to pursue the mean side character and my sweet zombie!!!! tsun is a great artist and the stories are good and you have to have to have to have to play okay!!! tsun is also making i just want to be single which is so so so cool the game of the year every year and it hasn't been released yet and you need to become. a fan okay because aro pride is right now
