The repeated symbolism of closed doors in this fucking show makes me want to push my head into a pillow and sob until I pop a blood vessel in my eye.

In Planet Quetta, the door between Suletta and Miorine is forced open by Miorine, as Suletta isolates herself in her self-doubt and is so confused and scared of the world around her. It's a moment of understanding and respite where Miorine pushes Suletta to move forward, but it's only temporary, shown by the fact that Miorine has to force the door open and broken immediately by Suletta's brutal murder of the man trying to kill Delling Rembran.

But in Episode 22, this time it's Suletta who is trying to coax the door open. Neither her or Miorine forces it open, indicating that this time, the understanding is real and permanent and they want to face their sins together. It's a much more solemn retelling of the door scene at Planet Quetta, with many of the same feelings carried over but finally fully accepted. And though Suletta is the one to coax the door open, it's Miorine who is able to exit her isolation and opens the door herself, finally truly relying on Suletta for the first time - which gives Miorine the power to step forward on her own.

Both of them play a part in opening the door to Miorine's room, both of them finally understand that their love can be unconditional, both of them are able to trust and rely on each other fully, both of them finally understand that they are loved and valued. They've grown so much since Planet Quetta, and that reflects so beautifully here.

We’re so far from the end of Milgram and yet. I am thinking about finale fix-it fics. because I already know Yamanaka isn’t going to shy away from killing characters and I'm pre-sad about it. I’ve expressed some other nice options here and here, but have another! Jailbreak >:3

(Just random silly thoughts I’ve been rotating in my head, don't take it too seriously) 

This is assuming Milgram is in a physical location with mostly realistic elements. (It’s a well-funded facility, but no magic or anything besides whatever’s going on with jackalope and the no violence ban.)

Trial three is coming to an end. Es knows it will end in death, but they know it'd be going against their duty to declare everyone innocent.

A mistake is made on the outside, and a chance opportunity arises: a temporary exit appears in the prison in Es’ room. 

They notice it at night, and make the split second decision to tell the others. They race to the cells, gathering everyone one and telling them to get out immediately. 

Most of them go willingly, though a few (Yuno, Fuuta, Kotoko) are suspicious of Es’ urgency. They manage to convince them that it’s not some twisted lie – Es knows how this will end and wants to give them a chance. 

As everyone’s filing out, it becomes clear Es isn’t going to step through. They say they can’t go – even though they’re taking steps to save the others, their duty remains to Milgram. They’ll stay and face whatever consequences arise as warden. 

Mikoto is like “fuck that shit, you’re just as much as a prisoner as us and you’re coming,” to the others’ agreement. “If they’re gonna punish you for helping us than we should make it look like it was all on us,” and he slings Es over his shoulder. They all take off into the unknown facility. 

The real fun part of the fic would be when they inevitable make it past guards/scientists, climb into a military-grade vehicle, and take off with authorities in hot pursuit. (I’m still deciding who’d be funniest as driver, though I’m leaning towards Kazui doing it because he feels responsible as oldest) Cue some classic comedy-drama bickering as they screech around the complex under fire. Fuuta trying to backseat drive. Mahiru in delirious giggles that she’s helping with a jailbreak, can you believe it? Her! Shidou shielding Amane as the vehicle bumps around/takes damage. Muu pointing out they’ve been going in circles. It’s revealed the driver doesn’t have their license. Es complaining that they shouldn’t be here but knowing it’s too late to get out. There’s much screaming and celebrating and panicking and tires squealing. 

One epic car chase later, they emerge in the surrounding woods, alone. They start making plans. I’m not sure who has the most geographical knowledge, but someone is able to piece together generally where they are. Mikoto knows a good deal about getting away with a crime, and starts walking them through how they’ll need to ditch this vehicle and where to hide for the time being. Kotoko has some connections, she can find out if Milgram is associated with the government or if they should go to the authorities about them. Muu’s parents are rich and from France, she’ll have them get everyone out of the country until things are figured out. 

They plan on reaching out to their families to let them know they’re alright. After some awkward silence from Es, Fuuta starts listing all the ways you can find someone online. He gets a bit embarrassed talking about the techniques (seeing as that’s how he ended up a killer,) but Es seems grateful for the help finding out who they are and if they have any family looking for them. 

As they drive, someone points out that these plans aren’t perfect. Milgram may be better equipped or more widespread than they know. There’s a high chance they’ll still be caught and potentially killed to keep quiet about the whole experiment. 

Shidou starts saying that a doctor’s job is to extend life so people can live as long and happy as possible, even when they know it won’t last. He points out that even if this isn’t a permanent escape, the extension of their lives and their happiness is still something meaningful. After all, if they’d just stayed in the prison to be executed, they would never have gotten this one last chance to see the sun.

Then they all watch the sun rise and it’s beautiful !!!!! The end

I was thinking about late game Meanie Greenies. Linda accuses the local government of biological warfare in creating tiny super soldiers, which is absolutely wrong, but she’s just so nosy and full of science fiction media. So, they get arrested for sneaking into top secret areas, and by “they” I mean Linda forced Ryan in there, while clearing out the offices of Greenies. So there’s a level where they catch greenies in prison before having their boss sign for their release.

At the same time, the government asked of the professors at the local university if they studied or heard of these Greenies before and all eyes turn to Professor Walter who has been obsessively experimenting and theorizing about Greenies origins ever since they first appeared. So, they give him a bath and the college allows him a bigger room to continue his research with the help of his star pupils and Lewis.

After getting the two out of prison, the governor tells Ryan and Linda the truth behind the documents. It’s revealed that the entire town was quarantined way before the first chapter where the neighborhood was quarantined. The government didn’t know how to handle the situation, so they just shut off all contact to prevent spread. And it is also revealed that the Greenies are in fact aliens from space that came crashing here through a meteor.

It flips back to the college where Garret tells about his theory, Professor Walter explains how long he’s been observing the greenies, and Jay and Lewis reveal that they saw the meteor when it first landed before it disappeared suddenly. Suggesting, maybe thats why all the Greenies look like Lewis.

A giant rumble shakes up the town, all the characters feel it and go outside. And the second to last chapter begins.

went ahead and watched the whole of jenjortsu kaisen

then, not believing my eyes, went ahead and read bits of the manga

but it was true... the writing really was hokey...

i mean, JJK has its good & great moments... but i did get tired from being spoonfed all the lore and magic system shenanigans (and backstories!!!!) during the fight scenes

i do get the point of it. on the one hand, without explanation, some scenes would feel confusing. on the other hand, if every other scene depends on a nebulous storyteller explaining to us every single move, then why not write a book... why choose a visual media, if you're not willing to come up with anything, which could be explained visually

a lot of shounen media can get to similar levels of over-explanation, but JJK is nothing BUT explanation of current events. it's hard to tell, where the line between action and explanation truly stands. the whole story feels like a recap of another story as a consequence

too bad, bc some of the scenes and fights have the potential to be emotionally charged and exciting, but they are greatly diluted with characters becoming sentient wiki-pages the moment anything out of the ordinary happens

#i liked the fight between yuji and choso #but the moment where a storyteller began explaining the mechanisms of blood diluting ... i completely shut down #it wouldnt have been so bad in a vacuum #but in a show where every single fight is also filled with similar minutes-long explanations of how them powers work #naw man. boring as hell #the only really truly good fight was between sukuna and the mahoraga was good. cus they both were mostly fucking silent during the scene #and the animation was stellar #im mostly disappointed with this show because it is the kind of a show i would usually enjoy #but its also mixed with the aspects of the fighting genre which i simply cannot stand at all. eh well
