Is sialis/martlet, berdly's relative/aunt?

oh ABSOLUTELY she is, and i don't think i'm the first person to come up with that idea either. they're just so similar, haha. Originally I had conceptualized martlet as berdly's adult-aged older sister (she gives me young-adult vibes in canon and it made sense at the time), but since I decided deltarune yellow is a prequel to deltarune (aging berdly down) and aged up martlet, I figure she's probably an aunt? haven't fully settled on the relationship between martlet and berdly but at least age-wise that relation makes the most sense to me

We have to start with KRIS, the Monarch of Fall!

Dying leaves, reds and oranges, pumpkins, coats, coziness, darker weather - they radiate the vibe of fall. It's about them holding a cup of hot cocoa in their hands, staring off into the distance and thinking of Azzy, but they never drink it.

It's about the empty train ride, where they look outside the window at the pink in the sky. Where they hate the colors made but don't want it to be winter. The crunch of leaves under heels.

Can I talk about the fact Berdly has no sense of internet safety? Like, it’s funny as hell, but I’m now wondering if no one taught him, like. Kiddo, where tf are your parents??

yeah no i mean. its kinda scary that he just was either never told about internet safety or he has no support system to catch when he oversteps online. and i think its kinda common for kids who grew up around my year (late 90's to early 2000's) to not have cohesive internet safety taught by our parents bc. the parents never saw it as a issue and either would just not let their kid on the internet EVER or let them do whatever they wanted. but that's not...good....lol

i think berdly, at best, has parents that are just generally unaware about the internet. or, at worst, has parents that are generally unaware about him.

i also think berdly lies to my s/i about how many friends he has all the time and she lets it slide bc she knows hes lonely and he gets a bit scared when he hears shes coming home over break bc hes not as popular as hes been telling her andsso he begs noelle and kris and susie to pretend they all look up to him and that he has a bunch of friends. So out of curiosity for the twin ruins, on page 24 Kris Susie and frisk saw the UT noelle and her sister (when they were young) and that got me to wonder, you think Noelle from Deltarune would somehow get into the dark world and then finds the door that leads to the UT universe and she see herself (aka her younger self and her sister) 

And it be more interesting if catti, berdly, Monster Kid, snowy, don’t forget temmie (and it be funny if Deltarune met the UT temmie and UT temmie asks her if she likes sugar but she tells her I don’t eat sugar, which would make UT TEMMIE to faint

I think it'd be a little too far-fetched for any of them to stumble into the Dark World and then find that one random door that leads to the underground... haha...

Clover and their family in my Shattered Soul AU.

Ceroba, Starlo, and Martlet ended up living together on the Surface. Martlet ended up taking care of her brother, Berdly, so he lives with them as well. Kanako and Berdly are like siblings to Clover. Clover and Kanako are the older two, while Berdly is younger, closer to Frisk in age. Martlet takes up the older sister role for the three of them.

Deltarune is about many things - about growing up, about fantasy and reality, about games and how we as players interact with them... but it's also about legacy.

Yes, in the big meta sense, it's about how this game is following up from Undertale, one of the most beloved and successful indie RPGs of all time. But also you have Kris learning to live outside of Asriel's shadow, you have Noelle struggling to cope with her sister's disappearance and her father's illness, Susie flailing around for a foothold in a new town with peers who don't like her very much, Berdly doing his utmost to live up to his "smart genius" label so he can actually be known for something.

You have Ralsei who finds himself at a crossroads between fulfilling a predetermined prophecy to save the world, and forging his own identity separate from his willingness to serve any "higher" authority. You have King, a ruler who became a tyrant so that his people could be free.

You also have Alphys, struggling to fill the rather large boots of her predecessor, Gerson Boom, who had a career in smithing, wrote a series of hit fantasy novels, and was an excellent teacher according to his son Alvin. (I wanna talk more about this, but it's going in its own post because of reasons)

A character's legacy, the thing that they will be known for, the thing they struggle to actualise so that people will like and accept them, can be a powerful driving-force, giving them agency to fulfill their ambitions. But that same legacy can also be a millstone, forcing them onto a narrowly-defined path through life, burdening them with the crushing weight of others' expectations, and trapping them into a version of themselves they may not wish to be.

Legacy can be difficult to escape from, perhaps even impossible in some cases. It can feel like there's no other choice but to press onward, to be what others want or expect from you, to do what you are told, to try and live up to a golden predecessor who could do no wrong in the eyes of their admirers. It can feel like what you want, what you choose for yourself, doesn't actually matter, because in many ways that choice has already been made for you. And to rebel against that choice risks disappointing the people closest to you, risks losing your reputation, risks the comfort of a predictable path forward, and in extreme cases risks losing your own sense of identity.

I think this theme is going to continue to develop throughout Deltarune, and I very much look forward to seeing how it all plays out!

(If you don't know how she acts here's this from Google Noelle is friendly and cheerful, but also very timid, and sometimes has trouble saying what she's thinking. She apologizes often, and stays quiet about her feelings, such as her possible crushes, or her distaste for Berdly, out of fear)

He doesn’t like how you keep on saying sorry for literally nothing! Even saying sorry to the desk you accidentally bumped against a table in his workshop or even worse a mortal. A normal insignificant, useless, good-for-nothing mortal that you just apologize to.

Before you got together you both had the biggest crushes on each but neither wanted to say anything about it even if it was so obvious that it was just killing everyone. Spoiler: he caved first, he couldn’t handle it, he wanted to be with you so bad. He wanted you.

Honestly, you both have a water bed. Why? Duh, so both of you would be able to sleep better since you just need the cold and the heat so you stay on separate sides of the bed. Buttt there’s an exception when it comes to cuddles <3

Got sick by you…just your ice powers were a little bit too powerful one night which gave him a cold the very next morning. It’s fine yet you were absolutely horrified and apologized so many times while taking care of him. (not like he’s complaining since you're taking care of him.
