Something I love about Deltarune is how unexpected the roles of each Lightner in the Dark World is.

Kris, the asocial quiet kid with brother codependency issues who sleeps through half the school day? They're the leader. (And demonically possessed, but still.)

Susie, the school jerk, who was last seen pushing Kris against a locker? She's a hero who rescued a damsel in distress.

Noelle, the aforesaid damsel in distress? Her arc is all about learning to stand up for herself (which is a beautiful way to do a 'damsel in distress' arc if I do say so myself) and in the bad route she is the only way to kill everyone. You can't do it yourself. Also in the Light World she runs track, is the secretly the smartest kid in class, and has many talents.

Berdly, the smart kid? He's a comic relief character and an idiot who can't solve the simplest puzzles. But despite this idiocracy, he will do everything in his power to try save his friend in the Snowgrave route.

These characters have so many dimensions and complexities and I am here to see them break down the boxes society has built around them.
