And the prose is so great. This is a masterclass fic.

Strong Enough To Stand by @the-blind-assassin-12 Oof. This both hurt and was satisfying. Joel has a habit of holding onto love and hurt. It's definitely detrimental at times. But damn if it doesn't illustrate how fiercely he loves. Alyssa's lead up story to this--It Pours From Your Eyes--nearly destroyed me, but this one thankfully helped to soothe.

Surrender Chapter 13 and Chapter 14 by @ezrasbirdie Birdie gave us a beautiful reunion and ending for Daisy and Joel and I'm just so proud of her for putting her heart into a wonderful OC. There's so much in this series about learning to love and--even more interesting--learning to BE loved, and both Joel and Daisy are wonderful for that. I know there's an epilogue coming and I will patiently wait for my desert while this meal of a fic settles in my heart.

Saying I love you through an accidental kiss by @songsformonkeys Listen. Joel Miller's got a lot going on today and it's chaotic and you made him food and took care of Sarah and you...you reached for him first. SOFT! CUTENESS!

This blog was set up to be my creative outlet, where I post my art, links to my writing and since I got to know some amazing people around here I interact with them ^^.

I'm a writer and an artist, both are very important to me.

This is mostly a Black Clover blog. I tend to circle around the Silva family (if my background art wasn't enough), but I love all of BC. 💕

Dear Reader,

I wanted to take this chance to thank each and every one of you for the support of my story Welcome to Downton, Mr Shelby, especially since I have not been the most dedicated of authors. There have been long and tiresome breaks and the fact that you not only have stuck by me but continue to give this story the time of day is the greatest compliment. Not only that, but there has been so much interaction with the story both in comments and especially in my inbox with you sharing feedback, your thoughts, your own headcanons and asking for mine. I am especially grateful for @runnning-outof-time who created this incredible moonboard for my story which captured the air and essence of the story like a perfect movie trailor, and @jaimesrighthand who created not just one but two incredibly detailled character moonboards for Charlotte and this version of Tommy, filled with the most insightful quotes and captivating pictures. I can't thank you enough!

Given the increased interest in Charlotte, I thought I would create a seperate masterpost about headcanons just for her since she is an OC (technically) and doesn't really fit in as a Peaky character. @jaimesrighthand has most graciously agreed to let me use her moonboard as header.

I will not only answer the current headcanon asks in my inbox about her, but will open headcanon and blurb requests for Charlotte alone. Blurbs of course only predating the series. Headcanons can be any question you have about her so long as it doesn't ask for the future. You can also send your own headcanons in and I will link them. For blurb requests you can be as general as you like (an age, a place, with another character). Just don't be overly specific please.

I don't expect my door will be broken down with requests since it is a more niche story, and so I won't set a time limit on this offer.

grew up an orphan in venice, italy: lost his parents in an accident - he isn't really sure ?! he was way too young to remember, and if that's what the people from the orphanage told him, that's what he'll believe !!

speaking of, that orphanage was BUTT CHEEKS!

. . . it was also haunted. . .

the second people there figured out that he was an anomaly, they moved his room to the attic, where luo was destined to spend most of his time.

he would essentially stay in there all day, and only be allowed down once everyone was asleep (which meant that he would have teachers who taught him at night)

so luo made friends with the ghosts of the orphanage.

he could already see them and hear them anyways, so! it's not like he had a choice!

while his stay at the orphanage was designed for him to have the worst time possible, these years were the happiest years of his life

his uncle is the one who was able to legally adopt him and bring him to seoul, south korea.

his uncle owns an antique shop where luo works during the weekend. it also doubles as a shop for anomalies (it's hidden in the basement).

luo loves and would die for his uncle. they have the best relationship!!!!!!!!! he is happy :)

because of his upbringing, he can be very: naive, gullible, sooo eager to please. like you could tell him that you like that one snack only available at the other side of the city during a very specific time frame of the day.

and he would show up the next day with it for you.

"did you seriously go all the way there just for a snack?!"

"oh, it was nothing!" (it took him three hours, he got lost twice.)

because of his upbringing, he can be very: blunt, honest to a fault, terrible at picking up social cues. he doesn't do it to be mean, if anything, he will say it how it is with a big smile and such cheerful energy, it often confuses a lot of people

he isn't particularly liked by the common crowd. labeled as the weird kid his whole life, he finds that it's a status that seems to follow him everywhere.

his main friend right now is @seriphic , though he has been recently introduced to @ofmays and @huitians.

he already met tian beforehand, but that's a story for another day. maybe he's crushing a little.

curious by nature, it's only fair that he is a PODCASTER!!! for the curious currents, which actually does redeem his reputation a little bit...!!

As my header says, my name is Birdy, though I also go by Syd or Jay, and I am the live-aboard cook on the tallship Lady Washington! We are based out of Aberdeen WA and spend the summer sailing around Puget Sound, though we have historically gone down as far south as California and as far north as Vancouver! You can find out more about the ship and her history, as well as see where we’re going this summer, over on our website!

I’ve worked retail my whole life, up until a couple summers ago, when I got my first job as a deckhand onboard a more modern vessel. It was fun, but it wasn’t until I stumbled across the last opening back in February 2022 that I found my place. Now I’m in my third year keeping these fools fed and healthy, and I couldn’t be happier!

NOTE: this is not an official social media page for the boat/seaport! This is just something I do in my spare time for fun. "Can I be your boyfriend?"

You blinked blankly at the tall male in front of you. Pushing him aside, you made your way out of the classroom. "HEY! YOU HAVEN'T ANSWER MY QUESTION!!", he yelled from behind you. you rolled your eyes, ignoring his petty calls. You flipped a birdie at him as you walked off campus.

You knew him for 3 years already. You weren't much of a talker and he was the opposite of you. Hyunjin was probably joking with you but why is he so persistent on wanting you to answer his question.

One week goes on as he follows your every move. "Y/n~". the male sat beside you with his tray, full of food. "Oh, hi". You responded briefly before getting back into eating.

Hyunjin sighed. A pout on his lips as he eyed that one thing on your tray. Your eyes followed his gaze. "Here, just take it. It's your favorite right?". You placed the cupcake on his tray.

A huge smile made its way on his face. He ruffled your hair gently. "Thank you~...wait how do you know it's my favorite?". You shrugged your shoulder. "You always ate it". Hyunjin grinned.

"Oooo~ y/n~ are you finally taking interest in me? You're so cute!", he cooed over you. You squinted your eyes at him, looking away immediately. You were flustered. You weren't going to lie, you did have some feelings for him. The past week of him, always hanging out around with you. He made you feel happy, less stressed about the college work, now you actually realized.

'maybe he is being serious'

Somehow he convinced you to come for his soccer semi finals. Usually you would be coped up in your dormitory room whenever it was school game night.

"Y/N!". You leaned against the railing, watching hyunjin waved at you, a huge smile on his face. You waved back. "Good Luck!", you yelled back down. You didn't know why you did that.

Hyunjin formed a heart with his arms over his head. And an unconscious smile cracked on your face. Hyunjin definitely noticed that which made him even happier than before. He was definitely going to win this match for you which he did. MVP of the game.

"You did well, hyune". You spoke, walking back to the direction of the dormitory block. Hyunjin suddenly stopped walking, making you turn around to look at him. His eyes were wide open.

"What?", you raised your eyebrows. Hyunjin engulfed you in a hug, gently rocking you side to side. It caught you off guard.

"Oh my god, you made a nickname for me. I love you so much", he kissed the top of your head. You felt your cheeks get warmer.

You definitely like him.

As the date for the soccer finals gets closer, you can't help but notice the change in hyunjin's behavior. he was still hanging out with you but he seemed more lethargic.

"you can sleep on my shoulder if you want to, I'll wake you when our lecturer comes in".

He smiled softly at you. He rested his head on your shoulder, his hand holding yours. "Thank you...", he left a kiss on your shoulder which didn't surprise you much.

You watched as he falls asleep quickly. You looked at your intertwined hands with him. Thinking to yourself that maybe you should come clean with your feelings for him. You didn't want to make he feel like you're leading him on.

"Hyun"

"Yeah?", he turned to look at you as he continued to eat his ice cream. It was breezy out in the park but he wanted to get some ice cream with you.

"If you win the finals...I'll let you become my boyfriend"

Hyunjin eyes widened in surprise. A huge smile appeared. "Really!?", he spoke a little too loud. luckily the park was empty.

You nodded your head with a reassuring smile on your face. "I'm definitely going to win the finals. A cute girl like you deserves a man like me", he teased, making you flustered. He grinned, ruffling your hair gently.

"Thank you though...for giving me a chance". You held his hand on your lap, lightly caressing the back of his hand. Hyunjin smiled. He knew it was your way of showing your love for him.

The whole crowd cheered as the screen replayed the last score, earned by hyunjin. A huge smile appeared on your face. You clapped, joining the school as they cheered for your victory of your school soccer team.

Hyunjin suddenly stood in the center of the stadium. You looked at him, confused. Suddenly, all his teammates held up a signboard with each letter on it.

A mic was handed over to hyunjin. You knew where this was going.

"Y/n L/n, this would be my last time asking you this before we graduate...can I be your boyfriend?"

A mic was passed to you. You took a deep breath as you answered.

"Of course you can be my boyfriend, hwang hyunjin"

The crowd cheered as hyunjin's teammates hugged him, congratulating him.

He turned to look at you. He holded up his hand. gesturing,

'1...4...3' (I love you).

You chuckled. You held your hand up, gesturing back to him.

'1...4...3...2' (I love you too).

What do you want?:

Type of fic: Generally for requests I will write Character x Reader. However, if you want something that focuses on a Character x Canon/Implied/Potential Pairing or a Character x OC just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Specify Reader Type: Default will be Character x Female Reader just because that's what I have most experience writing, but if you would prefer Character x Gender Neutral Reader or something different please let me know and if I pick up your request, I will try my best!

(spoilers for Glass Onion, Such a Fun Age, Yellowjackets, Succession, and The White Lotus below)

It's no secret that I love unhinged women like this is barely scratching the surface of my favorite characters that inspire Annie but I tried to narrow it down for this.

Birdie Jay from Glass Onion

This is kind of a goofier one, but I loved this character in Glass Onion. I read something once about how Knives Out is about criticizing old money rich people and Glass Onion is about criticizing the new-money-hustle-culture-opportunist type of rich person. I think that's very true, and a lot of Glass Onion is about exposing the lie that these people have something very special and genius about them when in reality they are often employing a combination of luck, good looks, charisma, useful connections, and a willingness to screw people over at times.

Birdie is less sinister and more... kind of stupid. And while I do think Annie is very smart in her own way, she can be very ignorant about things that get her into a lot of trouble. I thought the "sweatshops" thing was hilarious and so Annie— a girlboss building an empire in the fashion space, but she doesn't even know what a sweatshop is. As for the header image, I thought that scene was very fitting as well! Like Annie, Birdie deals with criticism by telling herself this story that other people simply don't understand, that she's just misunderstood and someday they'll all see. I do think that Annie is misunderstood by her peers at times, but that doesn't excuse her behavior and it definitely doesn't make her a visionary lol.

2. Alix Chamberlain/Alex Murphy from Such a Fun Age

This is one of the characters who inspired Annie to begin with. (As a side note, I think it's wild that this book came out in 2019 and now in 2023 the influencer girlboss protagonist shares names with 2 Internet it girls of the 2020s lol). For those who haven't read it, the plot of this book is kind of complicated but it's basically about the misguided ways that white people often respond to racism and sometimes appropriate dialogues about race for their own ends which often undermines movements. It's also largely about hustle culture and liberal white feminism and so all of these things were percolating in my brain when I wrote Annie.

As you can see from the heading, the protagonist, Alix, who is the influencer girlboss in question, changes her name from Alex to Alix, and "Chamberlain" is her husband's last name when she gets married. This is part of what inspired me to have Annie go by Annie instead of Anastasia; Alix did this to try and seem more unique and sophisticated while Annie did it to try and sound more American.

I also wanted to address the quote I put in the header, which is more of a general thing about the character than a specific moment. Like Birdie, Alix is a character who tells herself a lot of stories to protect herself against criticism. In Alix's case, it's also about denying that she's harmed people, because even to herself she can't handle that guilt.

3. Misty Quigley from Yellowjackets

Misty <3 We're moving into real Unhinged Lady territory here. I actually got Jackie on that character quiz, which you would expect from a character who's kind of a queen bee, but I think what's important here is that Annie isn't a queen bee, she's just trying really hard to be. Misty is the prototypical nerd, but she fights her way into the spaces she wants to be in through sheer force of will. She doesn't play soccer, but she gets on the team by becoming the equipment manager. And in the wilderness, she makes herself indispensable through her medical knowledge.

I chose Misty's Citizen Detective moment because I thought it tied in with Annie's arc on the Squire, how both of them are nosy but it's mostly because they are lonely and want to be a part of something. I also wanted to highlight this moment because Annie can be quite aggressive and borderline violent sometimes lol and I think she gets a lot of joy out of "coaching" someone the way she sometimes gives Toby pep talks.

4. Siobhan "Shiv" Roy from Succession

Look you knew I was gonna talk about Shivvy didn't you? The scene I picked is from a really intense fight she's having with Tom, they're like literally on the verge of breaking up because due to complicated plot things Tom has betrayed Shiv and they just weren't talking about it but now they're finally airing all of it out there. And they get to the end and Shiv, who has been saying really horrible things to Tom, just breaks down and says, "Well, that's not a very nice thing to say, is it?" It's in response to Tom saying she wouldn't make a good mother.

And I think this moment is so Annie because she really does put on this tough girl energy, and once in a while she even fake cries to get what she wants, but deep down, she is just a sensitive, wounded person and if you hit her in the right place and at the right time she will break down. Which leads me also to point out episode 4.1 when she is scheduling breaks in her schedule to cry and insisting to her brothers that she is fine meanwhile her husband and father are conspiring against each other together to screw her over further if she goes through with divorcing Tom. Because she is that averse to show people her true feelings! And yet she cannot push them down forever!

5. Daphne Sullivan, The White Lotus

The thing I loved about the Sullivans is that when you meet them, you think they are just your typical vapid rich people, and then you realize they have an incredibly fucked-up relationship, and then you think maybe they're kind of onto something in a weird way (is that bad to say lol). Daphne continues this thread of the tough-girl-who's above-needing-love, and I think her weird little jealousy game with her husband is the perfect example of that.

But I also think, like the other examples, deep down under the surface of Daphne is a sad, romantic person who does want love, and I think in the iconic moment before she leads Will off to the cave where they ostensibly hook up, her heart does break to learn that her husband may have slept with Harper. Partially because Harper has betrayed her, but also partially because maybe she thought this time would be different. But she holds her tears in and gets her revenge, and that's kind of Annie's whole thing.
