This may be a weird Question but what made you HC Wayne as trans?

idk like a lot of characters it is kind of just. Vibes. like i hc komari as a transgirl just bc i can there’s not rlly any other explanation for it. but wayne actually DOES have a line in particular that lead me to this conclusion, it’s similar to yuzuki’s but its pretty well hidden in his pink flower event LOL

now this is kind of just!!! transgender in any direction to me tbh. like i have a couple of mutuals who see him as a transgirl and like, him being viewed as a girl kinda made him feel like he needed to be More of a boy instead bc he wanted to fit in so badly. which is SO REAL TO ME BTW I LOVE THAT INTERPRETATION SOOO MUCH.

i just like to see him as transmasc just bc. :3 like this is barely an explanation and more just. i like pulling out bullshit reasoning for my headcanons and finding some way to tie them into character’s backstories. IDK wayne’s such a silly guy my interpretation of him is kinda all over the place but i love him sooo dearly

HEY you should check out be kind my neighbor by @yugsly it's a really great comic if you like puppets and freaky stuff. which i evidently do. i modeled mr. neighbor a few days ago just for the hell of it, then decided why not actually do something with him? so i made one of my favorite scenes ^u^

making all the materials and trying to capture the sort of tactility of the comic itself was an absolute delight, as was animating all of lady trudy's wacky limbs. this is my first real attempt to animate a complex scene like this with multiple characters (and an abundance of arms)—it was definitely tricky, but i think it turned out pretty okay in the end! =D

You are SO good at emulating styles holy shit, before i read Be Kind My Neighbor i was skimming the tags and thought your ocXcanon comic was like. Screenshots from the ACTUAL comic. And when i finally read it i was like “wheres that funny rat dude” in the first third lmao

Oh wow!! You have no idea how much your ask made me smile so widely, oh my god... I'm so happy you think so! I always have been inspired by artists who draws fanarts close to the canonical style my entire existence and it's what I've been doing for any of the fandoms I've been in! I'd say I'm very much versatile concerning cartoony styles. BKMN has such an unique and fantastic art style, I have much fun anytime I make fanarts for it! Lately though, I try to develop a personal art style but it's still fun to draw in the style!! :-]

It makes me very much happy you thought Mousey was real! To me, they are real in my heart. That silly middle aged potato farmer means a LOT to me! Ohhhhhh!!! I absolutely love the "Hello Neighbor" story you've written, the tone of Ms. Valencia is so on point! But I am curious, where did you get the inspiration that she is involved with Lady Trudy? I didn't really get that vibe reading through BKMN but you executed on the idea wonderfully. first off: thank you so much for liking my fic!! i'm always happy to hear what people think of my work so this message really made my day 🧡💛🧡💛

as for where the idea came from, it was mainly from @weirdalfemme, @entitybear, and i talking about specific scenes from the book involving her! (explained under readmore)

the main scene in the book that made this come about was her talk with tillman where she seemed to know a lot more than she should, and it being told to her through her "flamingo." this occurred in between his first dream with trudy and him being indoctrinated into the cult. the way her "flamingo" talked to her, paired with tillman's twisted vision of the flamingo seems to me that there was more than she was letting on. (i also find it interesting that the flamingo had "she" pronouns like trudy, though that may just be coincidence.)

this is further fueled by the fact that miss v also said direct lines that were in tillman's trudy dream/vision after getting knocked out by rarold (to which he was alarmed by in the second page above)

Where can I watch Tatami Galaxy

It's on Crunchyroll/Funimation I believe. And Tatami Time Machine Blues (spinoff, it's stand-alone and can be watched without having seen Tatami Galaxy) is on Hulu. Of course there are ~other sites~ to watch them on if you don't have streaming servies (like zoro (dot) to). It is truly my favorite anime of all time. Ive been endlessly inspired by it's writing and stellar art direction since I saw it for the first time 10 years ago. There is truly nothing like it! I cannot recommend it enough! Tatami Galaxy is only 11 episodes! And Time Machine Blues is the length of a movie! (Time Machine Blues just came out a couple weeks back!) It's also pretty objectively fruity and that's great. I could write an entire essay, dude. WATCH IT! (Anyway I just remembered that some folks that worked on the show follow me on twitter. Thanks here’s your guys Smoking Weed And Being Gay hope you like it)

i just identify really strongly with wegg, for a lotta reasons... first time i really saw myself in a transmasc character. our personalities are so similar, how we react to things, even the things we enjoy doing! (actually i loved weggs songs and was reminded so much of the music i like to write that ive been working on tryna record some of the songs from BKMN :)) BUT i feel like calling him my favorite might seem almost a little ... self centered, in that regard?? hahaha. but i do love him dearly, and i think we would be very good friends. :D

omg I would love to learn more about the scarecrow Glenn AU! it looks really interesting!

HI THERE !!  it makes me very happy whenever people say they’re interested in my lil au, tysm for sending this ask !!  :3c 🧡 🧡

there’s a lot of info i’ve got about the au, but i’ll sum up some of the key points here for you and anyone else who’s interested in learning !!  i plan to make a formal post introducing the au and official designs later, but for now here we go !!

!! SPOILERS AHEAD FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T READ THE COMIC YET !!

in the scarecrow glenn au i share with my wife @pumpkinfemme, it directly ties with her oc, alfie !  in the au, glenn is resurrected through lady trudy by alfie retrieving glenn’s heart and a new vessel (aka body) for him !  this new body is a scarecrow stolen from rarold’s fields, thus the title of ‘scarecrow glenn au’ !!

the au doesn’t interfere with the canon storyline of bkmn at all, but instead focuses on glenn finding a way to return back to society again, alfie keeping up his agreement with neighbor, glenn accepting his sexuality, and fleshing out lesser explored dynamics !

some other small facts about the au:

alfie took on the penance of bringing him back (added to his existing penance), which is a pair of hands every month. glenn offers up his own, and alfie sews him a new pair each month

he retains the scar and purple thread from when neighbor took his heart. this thread cannot be removed, as it will grow back if attempted

in addition, he also has a permanent scar on his neck from where neighbor slashed his throat, though it is normally hidden by his neck ruffles

alfie and glenn adopt a small crow they nickname ‘ibucrowfen’, who had been incessantly following glenn around and giving him a headache

my wife and i have also been writing out the events and timeline of the au privately, which we will be posting when each section is completed !!  it will likely be posted on here and ao.3 (as much as i dislike the platform ..)

along with that, i will also (attempt !!) to make a comic form of his resurrection scene, which i have posted a teaser of here !!
