Combat also feels far more exciting due in part to active skills that have an almost tactile feel upon execution, which, in turn, makes you actually feel like you're in combat. While the skills can be activated using the traditional punching number keys, the experience becomes far more exciting when using actual key-and-mouse combos tp complete devastating attacks. The main factor being that the game reinvents normal genre classes, such as wizards and warriors, with combat systems that use actual mouse and keyboard combos. While the quests might follow the same old genre formula, the combat system, on the other hand, feels completely fresh. Even among the boring quests, however, was the silver lining of the combat system that kept me playing. It was disheartening that in such a beautifully designed world that most of my experience was spent killing things, with me usually having no other motivation than to check off a to-do list. It often didn't seem as I was missing much anyway because nearly every quest resulted in having to travel to some NPC, kill a set number of enemies, and then report back for the often disappointing reward of either health or mana potions. All human characters in the beta were missing their English voice overs, even Korean spoken dialogue as well, which made me ignore most of the narrative elements. The underlying narrative that strings most of the quests together is either presented through non-player characters or this odd black mist spirit-type character. I was excited when I came upon a side quest by accident that gave me the opportunity to run around an underground temple filled with relics and read about the history of the world I was playing in. It's even worse in Black Desert when nearly all of the quests for the first three or four hours follow this model it's boring. There is a point in which I feel that developers must know that the structure of "kill this many forest animals to complete the quest" is both dreadfully boring and long past its expiration date. However, the core gameplay experience doesn't do much to differentiate itself from other MMORPGs on the market. Black Desert Online is a fun game to play and easily meets all the expectations behind its overly gorgeous visuals. While I would have liked for the recent closed beta to run a tad longer for more time to spend with the game, I walked away less hyped than before.ĭon't confuse that for complete disappointment. Ever since the first video clips and screenshots surfaced of the game's robust character creation system and highly detailed world, I was intrigued about how the actual gameplay would compare with its visual identity. On the surface, Black Desert Online from developer Pearl Abyss is one of the most visually pleasing MMORPGs on the market.

I actually had random motivation to write a small thing for Death Seeking Creator so here *throws at the wall* I'll post more if I feel inspiration.
Small warning, I tried not to be too explicit with the deaths. But who knows if I succeeded so apologies if you're squeamish with blood and such things.
~~~~~~
It's the same thing every time.
They wake up, a scream tearing from their soul as tears fall down. They could barely taste the bile that threatened to eject from their empty stomach, causing them to wheeze and cough to prevent it. But soon laughter bubbled up, their hands clutched their head as their voice croaked as more and more giggles erupted.
It could barely be recognized as laughter as their hoarse voice screamed and wailed out to the darken clouds as rain pelted their golden scars and tattered cloth. Thunder could be heard as they finally lose their breath, coughing as their body forced them to calm down from their fit of insanity.
As they breathed, their mind could only think back to how they ended up here.
They had chosen to travel through the desert, since that's all they could do when waking up in such a desolate place. They had hoped to come across a group of mercenaries or even scholars that could help them. But instead all they met was the blood red eyes of the character- nay, the person they once cherished and adored.
They couldn't remember his words, only the coldness in his voice as he looked upon them in disgust and animosity. They didn't even have time to process as he grabbed their throat and stole their breath, pinning them onto the hot sand as they stared back up in shock. Then they saw his face morph into unbridled rage, releasing them as if their skin burned his. They didn't have a chance to recover once the spear pierced them.
It's the same thing every time.
They slowly stood, feeling the rain hit their skin as they looked up into the endless sky. Their ears picked up movement from within the forest they now reside in, a wide grin now beginning to rise. They turned to face a familiar pair of glowing eyes, once that held a familiar rage.
“Oh my! It's been awhile Barbat-” They cut off as the arrow flew towards them, hitting its mark.
A scream rips out as they fall onto their knees, clutching onto the arrow piercing their heart. Blood pools out of their mouth, their airways flooding from the liquid.
Laughter bubbles up again, their veins filled with euphoria as they see the black spots in their vision. The rain pours harder, practically leaving marks against their brittle skin. But they couldn't hear it as their own voice drowned out the thunder. Their grin was wide, almost manic as they opened their arms out to the enraged god before them.
“Oh thank you! Thank you for such a wonderful feeling!” They cried out in happiness, babbling at how euphoric their pain feels. Their hands, now gripping onto the arrow, drive it further into their body. They wail as it brings about more pain, tears trailing down their cheeks. Or was it tears? It was impossible to tell for either party because of the rain.
They giggled as they coughed out a small puddle of blood, no longer able to hold it in. The golden color glows warmly against the cold grass, sparkling as if stars had been placed inside it. They laugh louder, babbling about how the lack of air has made them hallucinate, not paying attention to the horror on the face of the god.
They could hear him yell over the rain, feeling his hands now force their face to meet his. They wheezed at his expression, gurgling out words of mocking. Their blood poured out as each word was said, their eyes shining wide. They could feel his hands quickly grab theirs, attempting to rip it away from the arrow, but it only made them rip said object out. More blood pooled around them as they cried out from the pain.
They couldn't breath, their wide grin softening into a small smile as the darkness finally took hold. They paid no mind to the screaming from the god, nor his words of pain.
Thunder boomed as they went limp in the now weeping god's arms.
It's the same fucking thing every time.
HELLO TUMBLR PEOPLE,
Since QSMP is all about globalisation and learning about new cultures and countries, I think this is the perfect opportunity to tell people about most known MC RP series from the Netherlands, by assigning characters from the QSMP to kingdoms!
TLDR: The Kingdom (DDG) was a minecraft survival roleplay server. The server was devided into different kingdoms (hence the name) which were ruled and inhabited by A LOT of different Dutch-speaking creators. The first episode launched in 2012 and the series ended around 2021. It played out in a medieval-fantasy type setting with magic, Goblins/orcs/gods/dragons and a lot lot of war. Most kingdoms even had their own national anthem (or multiple).
vv WHO WOULD BE FROM WHERE vv
Recognised by their half black-stained skin, white glowing eyes and their extensive knowledge (and gift) of magic, the Empire was the main villain of the series. After forcefully being locked away in the Nether for decades, the civilisation made their way back to the surface with only one goal, revenge. Now with access to the Empire Wand, they quickly got damn good at it.
BBH - EMPIRE
I see Q!BBH as someone who could've been apart of this group, but having met someone allong the way that made him change his mind about wanting everything to perish. Due to that he had to flee from the Empire, since they would've never accepted him like that.
The only ally of the Empire. Jenava, also known as the desert rats, were violent and opressive people who underwent a ritual to gain the same power as the Empire. They had access to the Scripts of Jenava: documents kept very secretive, containing secrets about kingdoms, magic and curses. (also it's the kingdom with the best songs ngl.).
BAGI (+ tazercraft & Cellbit) - JENAVA
It wasn't uncommon for people (especially women) to attempt to escape from the kingdom of Jenava. The living conditions were terrible, for registered citizen but also for the natives (Kanta Tribo) who's land was forcefully taken (also later a civil war). I think Q!Bagi could've been one of the people who forcefully underwent the Empire ritual before running away to warn other kingdoms about the situation. Further, the kingdom had ownership of the most secure prison of the whole server ("Fort Forland, the prison island") which is a place Pac, Cellbit and Mike would've fit in perfectly.
Elementos, the kingdom of the Gods. In the story, the wife of King David (Eclypsa) passed away due to illness and became a deity, joining elementos. During the war between Entropia (her husbands kingdom) and Firjen, she sided with Firjen and gifted them 'The dragons of Bovisti', making Firjen "The kingdom of dragons".
FOOLISH - ELEMENTOS
Dragons, gods, a little betrayl and siding with the enemy for funsies. Foolish the totem god with a dragon base, Do I need to say more?
FOREVER - FENRIN
A island cursed hundreds of years ago, turning everyone into werewolves during full moons. They tend to keep to themselves. They used to be a part of the kingdom of Ljord, but fled and now peacefully live on their own, away from dragons and war (kinda).
ROIER - ENTROPIA
I don't really have a good reason for putting him here, it's just kinda a vibe.
Ah Entropia, the kingdom of capitalism and talking shit. With king David as their leader together with Queen/God Eclypsa their main stick was trade, being rich and doing wars. The statue of the Entropian Sword could be seen from miles away, imbedded with emeralds and other richments (making it a big eyesore for the powerhungry kingdom of Jenava). The king of this wonderful empire died once by the hands of the king of Firjen and his dragons. He was sent to Elementos to become a god, but refused because he is a little dumb and very stubborn.
With Roier putting stores all over the place and unnessicarily putting his egg in big danger, I think it's a good fit.
TUBBO & AYPIERRE - MALINO
The kingdom of goblins and mining. They lived in a gigantic hollowed out mountain, rarely coming up to the surface. They were the only kingdom (that I know about) that had a person assigned for redstone contraptions. Tubbo being the create boy with the gigantic tubhole would do well there in my opinion. Also Pierre (and perhaps Felps) would be a very respected citizen with his extensive knowledge of big holes.
ETOILES - THEROS
I personally know very little about Theros, except that they are known for their assassins and lack of kings/emperors. They dissapeared at some point and got taken over by a different kingdom (Magnos). I wish I could to this man more justice :'(
BAGHERA JONES & SLIMECICLE - ATLA
Probably the strangest of all the kingdoms, and also one of my personal favourites. Atla is a kingdom existing of multiple island, mostly known for worshipping chickens.
Their belief is in the two Chicken-gods Kiip & Kalf, together with the golden egg. Killing and eating chickens is illigal on the island, and the king is ready to start war on anyone who tries (besides that they're quite friendly tho :) ).
The golden egg is.. Well.. a large golden egg. It is believed that any attempt on damaging or stealing the egg will curse the person for eternity, giving them everlasting bad luck. This was evantually proven to be true, when Entropia used it to curse another kingdom (Krax).
I feel like Baghera could be a scholar from the island, perhaps a diplomat who'd travel to different kingdoms to exchange information and perhaps spread the good word.
Further, I see Charlie as one of the people that could pull the chicken=god trope of better than anyone. Also seeing the bad luck he's having on the QSMP, I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to take a little nibble of the shiny egg-statue.
I have a lot more people to assign and a lot of kingdoms not mentioned yet (like Kanta Tribo (a native tribe and arch-enemy of Jenava, Firjen, Ljord etc etc.. there were.. So many.). But this would go on for ages and ages so I'll cut it here for now LMAO
I hope you enjoyed this thread and learning something about Dutch youtube culture. It's a series I watched a lot when I was younger, and always seem to stumble back to. It was very well done and to this day one of my favourite things to watch/talk about.
I like to do crazy lightings, actions and put style on to my screenshots. I tend to focus more on characters, instead of sceneries. One of my favorite thing to do after is editing. I just get so excited for the aftermath haha.
Andrew Scott and Dakota Fanning, who star in Netflix’s “Ripley,” at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York last month.(Evelyn Freja / For The Times
Developed for television by Steven Zaillian (“The Night Of”), the series was originally set up at Showtime before moving to Netflix, with production spanning from summer 2021 to spring 2022. The lavish thriller, which is shot in black and white, stars Scott as the eponymous scam artist; Johnny Flynn (“Emma”) as Dickie Greenleaf, the wayward heir to a wealthy Manhattan dynasty with whom Ripley becomes obsessed; and Fanning as Marge Sherwood, Dickie’s girlfriend, who is suspicious of the new man in town.
The dark, subversive antihero saga begins as Tom is enlisted by Dickie’s father , who mistakenly assumes Tom is a friend of his son , to venture to Italy to cajole him into returning home. Tom becomes infatuated with Dickie and his lifestyle, then kills him to avoid being deserted — and the cover-up spirals from there. It’s an apt parable for the social media age, in which the carefully crafted image can be seductive to a damaging degree. But Zaillian didn’t embark on the adaptation with that in mind...
Progression Series! This was a commission, and so there was a sketch! The client describes her as a character who likes "Fighting, Freedom of the Open Space, and Fornicating" -- though in their description they used a different "F" word for that last thing. I figured I'd censor it because I don't want Tumblr to flag this post! Her weapon was described to me as something like a Desert Eagle if it were a Star Wars blaster, so I did my best. The client also wanted it to be black with gold accents. I'm not sure if it's a magical pistol or what. A devil girl holding a magical pistol? I have some experience with that sorta thing. In order to get the perspective of her pose right, I used a Yamaguchi Revoltech Harley Quinn figure I have as a reference. It's weird because even though everything lines up the way it does on the figure, it still looks off to me. Maybe it's because Petra here is so much bigger than Harley? The link to her creator's Twitter can be found below, though it has some NSFW stuff so click at your own risk! Nightmare Gorilla's Twitter: Link
Characters: 3L!Grian and SL! Scar
Relationships: 3L!Grian X 3L!Scar (mentioned), 3L! Grian X 3L!Scar
Tags: Hurt/comfort, angst
____________________________________
A man sat in front of the shore, hugging his knees with both sets of wings spread over the sand, watching as the waves moved closer and away. The pair of wings near his shoulders were mostly red with blue and yellow feathers mixed in, similar to the wings of a parrot. As an avian, they had always been far too small for him to actually fly, leading to the man only being able to soften his fall when he fell. His hair was dirty blond and his body was covered by a red poncho long enough to hide his legs from the rest of the world in that position. His black eyes were also made bigger by the glasses that sat over his nose. The avian was short, standing at 5'6ft and his skin tone was a light warm ivory. Even under the harsh sun of the desert, he had never been able to tan. The larger, wider wings growing from the lower part of his torso were purple with a blue eye-like pattern on them. When he was younger, having those wings was everything that he had ever wanted. Now, he would trade them in a heartbeat for the chance of seeing him again.
“Hey, G.” Grian heard the painfully familiar voice coming from behind him and hugged his legs more tightly. “Mind if I sit here?”
“You are free to do whatever you want.” Grian mumbled without turning to look at the man on the wheelchair.
Scar was a much taller and more muscular man than he was at a full height of 6’0. He had spiky dark brown hair with a few gray strands growing to the side, likely due to stress during his own games. Instead of a poncho, the man wore a black cloak over his body covered in lilacs and red poppies, they seemed to almost grow from his clothes, leaving a trail of petals wherever he went. His pants were far baggier than those of Grian and his white shirt was always open for everyone to see his scars covered sienna muscles. Much like Grian, he had wings, albeit mismatched ones as one of his wings was blue and leathery, closer to that of a vex and the other was purple, having the same patterns as Grian's larger ones. While most people in there had scars on their body, Scar had a much more apparent and predominant lightning scar that covered most of his upper body, even his face, hence why he had received the nickname.
Grian sighed deeply. “What are you even doing here, Scar?”
“Oh, you know me. Just enjoying the beach and the breeze and the ocean. You know, I am quite an excellent swimmer. In fact, people would go so far as to wonder if I was part merman for how good at it I am.”
“That's not what I mean and you know it.”
Scar's smile faded a little as he rubbed the back of his neck, “yeah. I know. I guess I am just worried about you. It has been a couple of months now since I arrived and whenever we aren't training, you will just stay here. All alone, watching the sea. I know what it is like to be alone, Grian. Believe me, I know too well and I don't want that for you.”
Grian shook his head, “I deserve to be alone.”
“See, you keep saying that, but I just don't think that's true.”
Grian scoffed, “and what the hell do you know, huh?! You aren't even a player anymore! None of us are! We are just empty husks abandoned by our creators and then taken in by the Watchers to be their own personal little killing machines! We aren't supposed to think! We aren't supposed to feel! We are just supposed to do! And I can't even do that right because all that I want to do is sit on this goddamn beach, because at least the sand reminds me of the few truly good moments of existence that I have that are truly mine and not someone else's memory!”
Silence fell between them for just a moment, but for both of them it felt far longer. The air was heavy.
“Well,” Scar said, “first things first, I believe that the correct term is vessel, not a husk.” Grian glared over at the man who was smiling slightly, his green eyes on him, “second, just because we received these memories from our players instead of making them ourselves, it doesn't mean they aren't true. We are still them, but that doesn't mean we can't also be us. I don't see why those two things can't happen at the same time.”
“But you are not him.” Grian squeezed his legs more tightly.
Scar looked to the side, “no. I'm afraid I'm not your version of Scar.” He began pulling himself from his wheelchair to sit on the sand next to Grian, “I'm just not that lucky, I suppose.”
“Lucky? He is dead. How the hell can you call that lucky?”
“It is better to die knowing there is someone there that will always remember you than to live as just a ghost in the lives of everyone else. Believe me, Grian, if there was a way to give him my soul and bring him here, I would do it in a heartbeat. I'm still not even sure how I won. I certainly didn't deserve it. Gem, Pearl, hell, even my version of you deserved this more, at least you had people who cared about you and were rooting for you. But me? I burned every bridge I had ever built to appease the secret keeper. I destroyed every alliance and drank the blood of the people who committed the crime of just letting me live for too long. I murdered my own mother, my own father, I betrayed the people that dared to think of me as a possible ally, and do you know for what?” Grian finally turned to look at him, “a book. All of that, and for just a book, a book demanding more and more from me." Scar reached inside his cloak and pulled out the book containing his last task. He opened it to read ‘win secret life.’
“Well, you also earned a soul of your own, outside of the players.”
“See, that's the thing though, I'm unsure if that's even a reward! Because it feels more like a punishment most of the time.” He laid on the sand, “at least when I was being controlled, I had the excuse that things were out of my control, that his actions were not my actions, even if it is my body, but now? Now I realize how wrong I was. There was no line where he finished and I began. He was me. His desires, his anguishes and his fears are mine too. And so are our crimes. Except I have an even longer list of crimes now. Like you said, we are killers. We are neither watcher, nor player and we are above your regular vessel. We are Winners. Plain and simple.”
“Winners.” Grian took a deep breath. “Winners of sorrow and despair. We are never going to stop being controlled, are we? At least we knew what the players were thinking and feeling. This is so messed up.” He buried his face in his knees before feeling a hand on his shoulder. He turned to look at Scar who was smiling at him.
“You are right. This is awful. It is so much that sometimes I feel like the pressure of it all will be enough to make me die. But even if it is like that and we are trapped in a hopeless, wretched existence where there is no possibility of a good ending, at least we are not alone.”
“Yeah, right. Because that is SO encouraging.”
“Maybe it isn't, but if there was one thing that Secret Life taught me was that life is worse when you have to live it on your own.” He placed an arm around Grian and pulled him against his chest in a sideway hug, “so smile my friend! Even if tomorrow is not the most beautiful and graceful day ever, at least you can have a shitty day with me.”
Grian looked at Scar with a faint blush on his lips before snorting, “yeah, right. I guess there were worse people to be trapped in here with.” He rested his head on Scar's shoulder as they watched the sun go down. Maybe, just maybe the night could be a little bit warmer with someone else by his side.
Life SMP Hadestown AU
//Life SMP Hadestown AU//
Master post for something no one may see.
Idk if this is anything but enjoy
I dunno- this and into the woods is my favorite musicals and I’ve had traffic brain rot for AGESSS and I was finally re-listening to Hadestown and this absolute fever dream of an idea dawned on me during hey little song bird
So yeah. Enjoy?
Here’s the original post when I got this idea
And obvious disclaimer this are all the character versions of these people not the actual people thank you very much for you patience.
ANYWAY
//Life series Hadestown AU//
Eurydice- Jimmy Solidarity ✨the canary✨ you see the vision. This (joke?) is what started this whole thing so.
Orpheus- Still deciding between Scott and Tango
Tango pros:
- They are soulmates
- the goat horns are kinda vaguely like music/an instrument 👀
- ranchers duo is SO SWEET always
- their lives are tethered which in a way fits the story of the show and the myth.
- idk i just like this idea
- why are you still here? It’s over. Go home.
- c!jimmy seems to be on better terms with c!tango than c!scott soooo
Scott pros:
- they were husbands, Jimmy died first tragically (very accurate to original myth)
- THE FLOWER MOTIF- specifically a red flower. It’s just so perfect
- they saw each other in the afterlife
- Scott is always attached to flower husbands which seems fitting
- he likes to sing? Empires musical? I don’t know but it seems like it works
-flower husbands and desert duo have connections (you will see why this is important)
So yeah leaning towards tango for the vibes but leaning towards Scott for actual similarities in plot and such.
(If someone wants to say Joel or someone I will happily hear you out lol)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hades and Persephone- c!Grian and c!Scar/desert duo. The characters were once in love and then it grew into a a more bitter relationship. There are lots of potential parallels with Hadestown older lovers and desert duo. Grian and scar also have flower/plant motifs.
Grian as hades- He is a watcher, which seems fitting. Creator of the games seems fitting for god of death and also the industrial foreman Hadestown has. Original winner.
Scar as Persephone- Now that he is a winner, I personally love the idea of him being the earth, which is perfect for the god(dess) of spring. I also think his secret life skins going from green to black is an accidental parallel.
The only real issue with this is I want to incorporate Grian being the sun but that’s contradictory;-;
Hermes- My main idea atm is Martyn. This is mostly because storytelling and lore is very connected to him and his character. Who doesn’t love some eyes and ears AU/lore
I am also considering pearl just because I like that idea, her being the moon and being connected to g and s, etc
And Ren because he is such a storyteller/theater kid
The Fates- I have several ideas for this
-the watchers(and secret keeper.) Obvious reasons
- the other winners
-clethubs because they are a fun/good trio lol
- ren, pearl, Scott (in case I don’t have them as Hermes/orpheus)
- the remaining Evo members: bigb (also he was so creechur in third life ), pearl, and if he’s not Hermes, Martyn (also good since pearl and martyn have won)
__________________________________________
Based on a lot of the plant motifs imagine if instead of a carnation it was a poppy.
I’m very slow with drawing and have never written any kind of fic before but if people like this idea I’d love suggestions for the AU and I’ll definitely make some character designs :)
Character designs/descriptions:
Jimmy coming soon to a theater near you
Other posts for the AU:
Full circle lol
Potential name
How to include both Scott and Tango

Do go on about xenomorphs! That's the fictional aliens right? The black ones?
I remembered a scientific fact. Back in the 50s-60s when we sent the Viking rover to Mars, we conducted experiments to see if there were traces of life. As you may know the results were negative at worst, inconclusive at best. They were all over the place.
Later on, with advanced technology, we tested again with I believe the Curiosity and ... oh I forget the name of it ... Well, two rovers in particularly airid parts of Mars.
What we found was traces of life that use hydrogen peroxide as a substaining element. We know this isn't impossible because of microbes we find in salt rocks in deserts on Earth, plus the example of the exploding beetle (it sprays hydrogen peroxide at anything that agitates it), so hydrogen peroxide isn't incompatible with life. Far from it.
Well, the differences between these tests, is that the Viking rover conducted these experiments by pouring water over the sites of dirt. Which if you know anything about the integrity of hydrogen peroxide, you'll know that this likely would have killed any microbes it was attempting to detect.
It is the equivalent of aliens seeing humans dying of thirst and then planting them in the middle of the ocean.
Class act for humanity right there!
-🧪 of 🪽🪻
Ooh! Interesting fact!!
I was going to type up a lot more than what I did, which is the meaning behind xenomorphs and what they represent. Which there are TWs, which will be below. I can type up a book on xenomorphs and their castes, what they do, how they act, the differences. So that’s a very long post that I don’t think would be a here thing. :)
But the TWs for this is a quick mention of sa and rape. There is no detail, just the implication and the quickness of it.
The creator of the xenomorph wanted men to feel the same fear a woman would with sa. The xenomorphs are meant to pounce, they walk around you, pierce you with a tail. This fact gets even more interesting with the Hive Mother (also known as Queen Mother). The hive mother can speak to humans telepathically, using that to lead them to their doom by making an emotional attachment while promising love and affection. All as a jab at men to feel the same fear a woman would.
The sexual imagery is on purpose. The screen writer, Brannon, saying “I'm going to attack the men in the audience sexually. I am going to put in every image I can think of to make them cross their legs. Homosexual oral rape, birth. The thing lays its eggs down your throat."
It’s interesting to me because it’s a serve thing and trauma inducing thing that’s on a screen that people can say “that’s similar to what happened to me.” Men can also say “that’s similar to what happened to me.” It doesn’t excuse any negativity that’s there, but it does show that this happens in real life and it’s also empowering.
The main character is a woman, Ripley, who doesn’t take any shit, who has the Queen as both a mix of her and the xenomorph, something she adores but gets rid of because it hurts her in the end. Does she cry? Yes. That’s normal. It’s understandable.
And it’s just nice to see that, hey, this is something that people experience, this alien is showing a fear that many people have. And it’s supposed to make you uncomfortable. I find it as a form of comfort because there is something out there that shows that you can survive and it’s enjoyed and it does it well.

Any games that capture the weird and oppressive mood of tloz Majora's Mask? I realise this might be way too vague but I can't think of how else to put it
THEME: Oppressive Grief (Majora's Mask)
Hello friend. I thought about how to replicate the feeling of Majora’s mask, and I decided to focus on the elements of pressure, doom, grief, and defiance. These following games will have at least some of those elements, although not perhaps all of them.

Afterlife: Wandering Souls, by Angry Hamster Publishing.
Afterlife: Wandering Souls is a macabre fantasy game set in surreal plane known as the Tenebris. You take on the role of a Wanderer—someone who died, but didn’t end up in Heaven, Hell, or any other traditional afterlife.  Devoid of any memories of your life on earth, you find yourself in an endless desert filled with gateways. Search different planes of existence for clues of your former life - or a semblance of one. Along the way you'll encounter strange inhabitants, alien cultures, and other humans who’ve lost all hope and are bent on destroying you.
If you believe the theory that Link is dead in Majora’s Mask, then this game might feel similar. The creator draws from many surrealist art, including Guillermo del Toro, as well as Hayao Miyazaki. Just as Link meets people who resemble folks he met in his adventures in Ocarina of Time, players here could meet bits and pieces of their former life. This game also has a supplement called A Wanderer’s Guide To Limbos and Mirages, which dives further into the world of Tenebrae and asks you how your character will change as they venture into a world of weirdness and despair.
Stargazer, by Trollish Delver Games.
In the days of the sun's last gasp magic has returned to a ruined civilisation. The Song of Power can be heard on the wind: some believe it's the voice o the creator while others think the song is hastening the end of the world.  Memory-tattooed magicians delve into deep dungeons to uncover black music discs that hold the secrets of magic while hedonistic kings shower themselves in treasures.
This game is much more dire than the other options on this list. As it is OSR, it will focus more on combat and dungeon-delving than connecting with the people around you, so I think it better reflects the corrupted dungeons of the different areas of Majora’s Mask, such as the poisoned waters of Woodfall Temple, or the animated dead of Ikana Canyon.
Bleak Spirit, by potatocubed.
Bleak Spirit is a storytelling game where you and your friends create a brooding, cryptic tale about a stranger in a strange land. Everything is falling apart, crumbling, corrupted, and the wanderer carries the potential for a return to past glories – or the power to sweep away all that remains.
You will all take turns playing the wanderer – the destiny-wreathed individual who is going to bring change to the world, one way or another. The wanderer is the one who faces the dangers of the world, who discovers the lore, and who will ultimately leave things different to how they found them.
Ultimately, Link doesn’t belong in Termina - he’s come from somewhere else, and he doesn’t want to stay there, he want’s to go home. Bleak Spirit is a GM-less game that lets the table dive into a world that is wrong, in one way or another, both creating the details of the world and narrating how the lonely adventurer meets every challenge.
The World Is Ending And We Are Very Large Dogs, by Eden.
The world is ending in one week. This we know for a fact. It is too late to stop it. It cannot be slowed down anymore. Especially not by you, because you are just a group of large dogs. All you can do is try and make the final days as best as you can for those that are near and dear to you. Your owners, your community, the other wild dogs in the park, whoever you hold dear.
The World is Ending and We Are Very Large Dogs is a GM-less collaborative storytelling game for 2+ players, wherein the players work to weave stories of bright moments in the face of Armageddon. The mood, intensity and tone of this game are up to you, the players, to decide, as the adaptable ruleset is designed for anything from a pulpy Mars Attacks-esque alien invasion to a a dark, mournful, melancholic ending.
This game comes with a number of various scenarios to reflect the range of tone you can play with when it comes to facing the end of the world. The dogs’ goal of doing their best to make their friends happy in the face of inevitable doom feels very similar to Link’s quest to help the people of Termina find peace even though their entire world is about to end.
Ten Candles, by Calvary Games.
Ten Candles is a zero-prep tabletop storytelling game designed for one-shot 2-4 hour sessions of tragic horror. It is best played with one GM and 3-5 players, by the light of ten tea light candles which provide atmosphere, act as a countdown timer for the game, and allow you to literally burn your character sheet away as you play.
Ten Candles is described as a "tragic horror" game rather than survival horror for one main reason: in Ten Candles there are no survivors. In the final scene of the game, when only one candle remains, all of the characters will die. In this, Ten Candles is not a game about "winning" or beating the monsters. Instead, it is a game about what happens in the dark, and about those who try to survive within it. It is a game about being pushed to the brink of madness and despair, searching for hope in a hopeless world, and trying to do something meaningful with your final few hours left.
If you really want to replicate the doom and hopelessness that the Clock Tower residents feel as the moon falls, this is absolutely the game for you.
Brinkwood SRD, by Far Horizons Co-Op.
This isn’t a game, but rather a system reference document for making your own game. I think this system is one of the best for creating a game similar to Majora’s Mask for a few reasons.
1. It’s built on Forged in the Dark mechanics, which give the players the ability to manage resources often at a cost. The players have to balance what is important and may have to make sacrifices to get what they want.
2. Clocks. Clocks are also great at imposing a sense of doom, by putting the characters on a clock and showing them what happens as time runs out. You could also include a mechanic that reverses the clocks to represent going back in time!
3. Masks. The masks in the original Brinkwood game transform their wearers, making them unrecognizable when they go on forays. You could use this mechanic to replicate a series of masks, all containing powers of beings who have died, in a story about a doomed world that your party is trying to save. What’s really interesting about this mechanic is that the Masks act as a separate set of playbooks that can be swapped among the party members, so that players can try out different powers and skill-sets. This is the biggest reason why I think the Brinkwood SRD would be fantastic for a Majora’s Mask kind of game.
(PS: if someone make this game please tell me about it)

Oh thank you for liking my American wizards ideas
And about guns, okay modern trick a lot of writers use that magic is often uncomfortable with modern technology.
Now my Americans wizards gun magic is that they use mainly colonial muskets, revolvers, and recent advancements allow WW1-2 guns to be used.
Also like for the modern AK-47 and desert eagles, okay gamifying a bit. But american wizards enchantments get slow to change the type of bullets the guns use, ie a enchantment take make the bullets releasing posion gas after hitting the target and such
Actually I notice something I notice in post hp fantasy settings and especially after Rings of Power. A lot of modern creators try to put modern or globalized characters into middle age inspired settings
Like the push for black rep in fantasy…the problem is that the type of fantasy people that could resembled modern black people is if the fantasy setting take place in colonial or industrial eras.
But I think a lot of black activists in these progressive circles never realize or took the hard pill that the average black American and the modern Yoruba people are strangers to each other. We have no pagan cultural roots to Africa
Yeah it’s sucks…but it sure as hell will help you in the long wrong
And as you know I’m a Midwestern. This tweet made me realize my fantasy ideas is so different

It was a fun read

You were talking about a steampunk type visual, you'll see a lot of old flintlock, wheel lock, and cap and ball type with the people that do steampunk, it's Victorian era so basically if it existed prior to to 1901 you're good.

Ya it's getting old, fantasy setting is not bad that and how they explained Morgan Freeman's character in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves worked great.
Moorish man that Robin had befriended instead of killed while out on the Crusade, came back to see England with Robin. It had a few 'magic negro' moments but not really magic other than the magic of his voice.
Just a inspirational speech, telescope thing too iirc been a while not really magic but a great vehicle for inserting someone who would not appear normally in that area at that time into a story.
But I think a lot of black activists in these progressive circles never realize or took the hard pill that the average black American and the modern Yoruba people are strangers to each other. We have no pagan cultural roots to Africa
Some are acutely aware of it

It's the 'they took our jobs' that everyone says it racist when you're talking about immigrants, but this is slots in college admissions and not racist at all if you ask them.
Xenophobic would be closer.

Guy moves to farm country and find out that farmers aren't actually the racist hicks he thought they were, many such cases.
There's a imageset from a post from FB or twitter or something, black woman breaks down in the middle of farm country on her way somewhere and her worst nightmare comes true when a white dude with confederate flag and maga stickers pulls up.
Guy was friendly and polite, helped to get her car functional and showed her where was a good place close by where a more permanent fix could happen.
There's a few, variations on who was driving and one I'm thinking of their bumper came loose, others with flat tires and what not.
They all end the same way, preconceived notions wind up being shown to be incredibly wrong.
