"Aren't you ashamed?" his father asked, which was funny in a way, because Vegas couldn't remember a time when shame wasn't eating away at him with every breath he took.

Pete, one of his cousin's lapdog had been tailing him for the past eleven days, and he was being increasingly clumsy about it. He was inept at best even in the beginning but in the last two days Vegas caught him staring abashedly at least four times.

Vegas honestly hoped that after the temple Pete would be scared shitless, creeped out or maybe straight up disgusted with him. He supposed even if Pete was, he had a job to do, because Kinn still had it out for Vegas. Then again, at least he could've kept his distance, but he was everywhere, obnoxiously so.
