Does Anyone Remeber Team Galaxy (2006)?

Nah cause I can barley any fandom related post about it anywhere. Tumblr, twitter, deviantart, pinterest. It’s like no ones heard of it, It’s made by the creators of Totally Spies and Martin Mystery. Theres only a couple fics on FF.net and 1 on Ao3. and about 3-4 on Livejournal. So does anyone remember it.

You’d asked Brett to spend the holidays with you. He’d turned you down and said that something had happened with his pack and it was more important to be with them. 

You understood. His pack was important. But it still stung a little that he had no time to spend with you. You went to bed early on Christmas eve and woke up to a cold house. You put the heating on for a few moments and slumped down onto the sofa. You frowned and got up when there was a knock at the door.

“Brett?” You said in surprise. He smiled and held up a bag of food and another of gifts. Slung over his shoulder was a backpack you knew was filled with his things.

“Hey… sorry, I wasn’t sure if I could make it.” He said awkwardly as you let him in.

“It’s ok. You didn’t have to choose me. I understand.” You said quickly. 

"I'd always choose you." Brett said quickly as he set his bags down and the two of you hugged.

“Well, I’m always on your team.” You smiled as he chuckled and nodded as he gave you a final squeeze and pulled away.

“Trust me. I’m glad you are.” He mumbled as you led him into the living room.

Thor: Love & Thunder Concept Art Highlights Jack Kirby-Inspired Hercules

Marvel Studios artist Andy Park has shared concept art for Thor: Love and Thunder showcasing Brett Goldstein as Hercules.

Legendary Marvel concept artist Andy Park has revealed the official concept art for Hercules in Thor: Love and Thunder. Hercules first appeared in Marvel Comics in Journey Into Mystery Annual #1 in 1965 and since then the character has been a member of many teams in the Marvel universe including The Avengers, The Defenders, and The Heroes for Hire. The character made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the mid-credit scene of Thor: Love and Thunder played by Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein.

Hercules' costume looked right out of the comics, and that was thanks to the work of Park. Park joined the Visual Development team at Marvel Studios in 2010 and has helped design many of the iconic MCU characters. In 2015 he was promoted to Visual Development Supervisor and his work was most recently shown at D23 for the official lineup for the Thunderbolts film.

Over the years Park has been happy to share concept art for various Marvel Studios projects and he recently shared a look at the concept art for Hercules in Thor: Love and Thunder. Park shared the concept art on his Twitter citing the original Stan Lee and Jack Kirby version of the character as his inspiration. He also shared his excitement to see Hercules battle any Marvel character, although he did not specify any particular character. Check out the concept art above.

Park's comment about seeing Hercules clash with another MCU character but no specific one indicates that even the key artist at Marvel Studios is unsure about the character's future. The mid-credit scene for Thor: Love and Thunder seemed to imply a showdown between Hercules and Thor, yet currently there has been no announcement for another Thor film making Hercules MCU's future unclear. In the comics Hercules has a romantic history with She-Hulk, making him a prime candidate to appear in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law if Marvel Studios decides to renew the series for season 2.

Following the success of Werewolf by Night, Hercules could star in a Marvel Studios Special Presentation of his own. While the next Special Presentation is another holiday-themed one, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, it was recently rumored that the studio is looking at non-holiday-themed Special Presentations. This could be the perfect medium to explore more of Hercules' story following Thor: Love and Thunder and set him up for a role in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.

So last night my dream involved space

A group of seemingly randomly selected humans with less than ideal circumstances were abducted by aliens in a very fancy Star Treky space ship, complete with uniforms. The humans were naturally confused and stressed out, but the aliens were overall pleasant-to-neutral hosts to their “guests.” Once the humans were also suited into the Star Trek-esque uniforms, the aliens sat them down and explain the following:

The earth, along with several planets in the galaxy, was in danger. There was a Space Anomaly (idk some unfathomable cross between a black hole, several meteorites, and a Random Space Explosion that could also cause severe freezing to anything in the blast zone). The aliens had technology that could potentially help to stop it, but couldn’t otherwise intervene because of some biological quirk they had that humans don’t. Therefore, a team of humans had to be the ones to stop the Space Anomaly. However…

The aliens wanted the humans to really think before doing so, to decide for themselves if they should stop the Space Anomaly or just let it happen. So the aliens chose people who were impoverished, victims of ableism, victims of hate/bigotry/systematic discrimination, etc, but who also had strong, loving connections to other people (dear friends, families, communities, etc). They made it clear that if the humans save the day, their heroic dead will not be known or celebrated, their circumstances not improve (and may even end up worse, since, depending on how long they’re kept in space, their jobs could be lost and loved ones could grieve them and leave them behind).

Basically, these humans had to debate if their connections to their loved ones was more important than the trash fires of their societies and circumstances, then if they all agreed to do so had to go on a space adventure to actually save things

(The aliens may have been working with the US government? Idk several NASA scientists where deffo clued in on things but ultimately had their hands tied by red tape and couldn’t do anything to help).

I mostly only remember three people from the “crew,” but I know there were a lot more. The first was a middle aged married mom of three (the oldest being a trans girl, youngest having very expensive medical problems, and middle increasingly anxious and frustrated because he was both worried about his siblings and jealous of the attention they got). She worked a high-labor, low-wage deadend job in a kitchen and her husband often struggled to maintain work. Let’s call her Susan. I remember she was short and had a bobbed haircut

(I also remember the oldest being slightly chubby, a little goth, and having a really cool undercut she was very proud of. My phone just tried to autocorrect “very” to “Betty” for some reason, so that’s her name now)

The second was a gay guy in his early 20s named Jonathan who had been disowned and kicked up by his very conservative family. He was currently staying with his best friend, a straight guy, sleeping on his couch. Jonathan couldn’t find work, dropped out of school, and struggled with his mental health and self worth. I remember he had longish hair and was pretty lanky

The third I admittedly don’t remember too much about, just that he was also kinda youngish, had a slight beard, and was overall pretty cheery. I think he also worked a low-income, high-labor job (pretty sure he was a sanitary worker) and had a lot of pain in his hands and back. He might’ve also been homeless or didn’t have consistent housing. I dunno, he feels like a Brett to me.

So I remember Someone in the dream using Susan’s circumstances as an example— yes, she loved her husband and kids, but her oldest daughter was at constant risk of discrimination by both people on the street and authority figures and her youngest, since they couldn’t always afford treatment/find caring medical staff, could die a very painful death young because of either lack of treatment or medical abuse from condescending medical staff. She also barely saw her husband or middle child because of the hours she had to work. Just because she loved them didn’t mean love alone could spare them from pain or even allow her time to form memories with them. “So why bother saving a world that damned them in a thousand little ways?”

IIRC, the humans by and large were pretty :/ about the whole debate and kinda just wanted to save the world and go home, even if things sucked, but the aliens kept dragging things out, insisting the humans needed to consider things from All angles first.

Anyway, uncomfortable defeatist debates aside, Susan, Jonathan, and Brett ended up bonding a lot. Susan even took Jonathan under her wing as a fourth kid, and Jonathan and Brett very clearly had an interest in each other (with Jonathan wanting to introduce Brett to his best friend in a semi-Partner Meets The Family fashion)

There would be cuts to the earth and the loved ones. Susan’s husband managed to land shaky employment as a substitute teacher and tried to balance his kids needs while also wondering if Susan was hurt or had abandoned them. Jonathan’s best friend meanwhile was trying to report him missing but wasn’t being taken seriously by the cops

I don’t remember how the dream ended, but I’m guessing the humans eventually got sick of the debate and just took control of the ship so they could finally save the day

the official english site for the show doesn’t seem to be up anymore, though i believe the french one is still out there somewhere. anyway, all of the episodes are on youtube if you want to check it out! it’s a bit hokey and out-dated, but it’s a really cute show! and if people like it? i would love to see a revival of team galaxy fandom in 2017!!

December Event

You waved at the team as you walked towards the bleachers. It was the last game of the season and everyone was bundled up warm. The massive flood lights now had small heating lights on them though they really did nothing to keep the chill off the bleachers.

Lydia had said that they were going to cause health issues by melting the frost and making it icy and dangerous. No one had an accident yet so her issue had gone ignored. Though Coach did ban running on the bleachers. 

“Hey (Y/N)! Up here!” Melissa called. She had a flask that was steaming in her hands and Lydia was next to her handing out some small cups.

“Sure thing!” You said you turned to wish the rest of the team good luck and hurried over. As you got a few steps up your foot found the ice and you slipped. For a moment you thought that you’d caught yourself with your other foot but found the whole bottom step was covered with ice.

“Someone catch them!” You heard Malia yell as she tried to get up to your feet and help you.

You finally fell but instead of hitting the steps you found yourself caught and looking up at Brett who grinned before jerking himself up and setting you on your feet.

“That was like a crazy trust exercise.” Brett muttered as he let out a low sigh and whistled as if he didn’t believe that he’d caught you. 

“Thanks!” You said as you caught your breath. 

“That was a good catch. Are you ok?” Melissa asked as she hurried over. She snatched your hat off the ground and put it on your head and helped you get up the bleachers.

“Right, that's it. You two get thoses heaters down. The headmaster said that they're for the field but they’re useless up there. You can attach them to the bleachers and if he says anything you’re all witnesses to (Y/L/N) nearly breaking their neck.” Coach yelled. He apologised and said he was delaying the game but everyone, having seen you fall, agreed. Some of the parents even helped.

“Thanks Brett.” You said and he nodded.

“You’re welcome. Sorry I have to kick your team's butt.” He said playfully as he headed over to the other side of the field with the rest of his team.

“Ok. Let's get you in a seat and get you a hot drink.” Melissa said as she took your arm. Malia handed you a warm drink while Lydia stood on her seat and directed people. The game was only delayed by ten minutes and no one seemed to mind now that the whole of the bleachers were warmed up.

BIGGEST NEW TEAM TITLE IN 30 YEARS

Tempe, Ariz., January 12, 2022 — Todd McFarlane’s SPAWN franchise made history in 2021 with the BEST YEAR OF SPAWN EVER, breaking several long-held comic industry records. The newest record includes massive sales for his newest monthly title, THE SCORCHED #1. Sales for the book made it the “Biggest New Team Book” from the past 30 years (including a new relaunch of Marvel’s X_MEN and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY), with more than 270,000 copies sold. This is the fourth major record-setting 2021 new title for McFarlane, all records have been set in under six months, and this marks the most records ever broken by a comic franchise in a six-month period.

Kicking off the reign of records, McFarlane's SPAWN’S UNIVERSE #1 became Image Comics' top-selling first issue of the 21st century. The sales of KING SPAWN #1 demolished The AVENGERS record, becoming the comic industry's highest ordered monthly superhero launch of the 21st century. GUNSLINGER SPAWN #1 was the biggest launch of a new superhero monthly title in the comic industry of the past 25 years. GUNSLINGER SPAWN #1's total sales are more significant than Marvel's SPIDER-GWEN launch in 2015, and there hasn't been another new character comic close to that number in the 20 years prior to its release.

Following suit with the record-breaking 2021 titles, SPAWN’S UNIVERSE #1, KING SPAWN #1, GUNSLINGER SPAWN #1, and now THE SCORCHED #1 has become one of the biggest selling Image Comics books in the 21st century.
