I think all characters need a good amount of needing to be messed up and beaten severely throughout their journey. Helps them make an even greater comeback.

The more someone needs fixing the better. And may be even learn to love themselves with the faults that don’t need fixing.

And on that note here’s one more big problem Optimus has!

"how are you doing today" well in a q&a the creator of one of my current hyperfixations was asked about literary influences from his childhood and he talked about the same semi-obscure fucked up short story that i loved as a child so i'm feeling pretty good

#he started talking about bruce coville's book of monsters and i was like 'is it the troll story' AND IT WAS i feel deeply vindicated #'timor and the furnace troll' is a great short story for kids to read that makes them grow up to be very normal people #i think every kid should read a story where the kid protagonist butchers and eats his entire class with the school janitor #builds character #certainly built mine! #futuresoon talks about malevolent

Did you know that you can do a playthrough of The Quarry without getting Jacob caught in the bear trap? In ch 6 if you choose to run instead of hide and fail the following QTE he'll get pounced on but Jedediah will shoot the werewolf, ending the scene with Jed coming up to Jacob on the ground (I also failed the first QTE on the bridge that gets Jacob bit on the neck, I don't know if that affected the outcome or not).

👀 i did not. i have, maybe, possibly infected him & then made him faceplant into the bear trap just to uhhhh see. what happens. so maybe on my next run-through I'll be nice & let him dodge the bear trap
