I turn 18 next year and I’m not sure where I can get testosterone, I’ve looked at planned parenthood’s website but the only one in my state doesn’t offer hrt services 😭 do you have any advice on how to access hrt?

Happy (Very very) early birthday! If you're still a year away from being 18 you have plenty of time to figure this out.

You should start by talking to your primary care physician and ask if they are knowledgeable about gender-affirming care and are willing to prescribe you HRT themselves. If they are not experienced with HRT for gender-affirming reasons, ask them to look into it and refer you to a healthcare provider who is.

While you're waiting for your appointment (often it can be at least a month away even if you schedule the first available date) use that time wisely and go out into the world (And internet) and talk to people! There must be at least ONE other trans person in your state who is on hormones, right? You just have to find ONE other trans person in your state who is on hormones (and trust me-- there's more than just one trans person on hormones in your state! But all you need is one person), then find out where they're getting their prescription from!

Online platforms can be a great resource for shared experiences and advice so I'd just start by googling "transgender [insert hormone name] in [insert state]" until you find the right key terms. You might also be able to find something on Reddit or through Facebook groups.

Additionally, going to trans support groups and meeting people there and asking your trans friends to ask their friends, etc can all be a good way to find a provider through word-of-mouth.

Another thing you can try is contacting LGBTQ+ centers or organizations in your state and seeing if they have any recommendations. Even if Planned Parenthood's local branch doesn't offer HRT services, they may have a lists of trans-friendly healthcare providers or clinics that do, so it could still be worth reaching out to them.

If you're planning on attending college or university, check if the campus health center provides HRT or can refer you to local resources that do. Some college health centers offer comprehensive services for transgender students, but unfortunately most do not.

Many healthcare providers now offer telehealth services for transgender patients looking to start or continue HRT. These services can be particularly helpful if you live in an area with limited access to transgender healthcare. Providers like Folx Health, Plume, and QueerDoc offer gender-affirming care to patients in many states, all through telehealth platforms.

Finally, I'm guessing that you don't have much experience with adulting which is fine because everyone starts somewhere! I was in the same position as you once. I also started to look into starting T when I was 17 and got everything ready (appointments scheduled for after my birthday, letter of support since it wasn't fully informed consent, lab work done the month before I was 18, etc), but didn't actually start hormones until I was 18.

Everyone has a different path through life, but this may be your first time scheduling doctor's appointments for yourself, signing up for a patient portal, getting your own health insurance (unless your parents support you being on HRT and wouldn't boot your off of their coverage), paying for appointment and prescription and lab work copays, etc.

Since you have a year until you're actually 18, it would be a good idea to start getting prepped for your first dive into the healthcare system as a legal-adult-even-if-it-doesn't-always-feel-that-way and google the basics of having and using health insurance. There's a lot of words you're going to need to learn one day (what's a deductible vs an out of pocket maximum vs an allowed amount etc) and this is as good of a time as any to start learning some of those basics (The advanced level is learning how to appeal denied claims, etc).

You got this anon! You're clearly on the right track by starting to investigate the process of starting HRT in advance, and remember that starting HRT as an adult also comes with adult responsibilities like figuring out how to pay for it! When you're thinking through the logistics of finding an in-network prescriber, don't forget to budget for those things too.

Okay so basically to preface: in my wip fic (wip is a gross exaggeration), everything remains canonically accurate to TFP except for the fact I use my Magic Fanfic Writer Powers to incorporate ridiculous Cybertronian mysticism canon into it for the sole purpose of furthering my self indulgent plot armor via cyberforming (cyberforming being when organic material becomes that of Cybertronian-make through means of mysticism and/or science)

Marian (unabashed tradgoth self insert) starts off as human. She gets picked up by the Cons while smashed drunk one night bc they think she has info on the Bots (found her bc she was lurking on online forums asking too many questions about big robot aliens bc she once saw them brawling and wanted answers), then she just ends up being kept alive and kept around as a pet/team mascot/ emotional support human, because hey if the Bots have one then maybe humans can be of some use

After a while Marian ends up forming a bond with Starscream (and KO to a lesser extent) after they both end up treating each other with compassion and respect (wow! trauma-bonding!). She kinda definitely falls desperately in love with him (and thinks it's unrequited but jk!). Angst & hurt/comfort abound! Gratuitous usage of mass-displacement device for nsfw purposes! You didn't hear that from me...

She is accidentally killed during the Battle on Cybertron (ca. season 3) by being hit with a stray plasma blast.

Here is where AU material comes in lol!!!!!!!

With the Well of AllSparks alive once again, in an act of desperation SS leaves her body at the edge of the well and actually prays for once in his miserable life. Through a mystical act of pity or mercy or whatever, a fresh spark combines with her own approximation of a soul and cyberforms her corpse and resurrects/ reincarnates her. She's herself, with all her old memories— but also something new, with all-new potential. No one knows wtf is going on lol

She becomes the first mech created on "New" Cybertron. "Cyberform-forged" is the term used for her, making her something of a new race (in the same way the Terrans are a new race), and is more of a mystic anomaly than anything (largely because there is no opportunity to recreate the event).

She's formed with a Vosnian Seeker frame and Cybertronian alt mode. Her frame is weather resistant: built to tolerate and fly through high winds and dangerous weather (Cybertronian and Terran) and relies more on brute force than grace in aviation. This means she is bulky rather than slim and aerodynamic like SS. She's a revival of the (near?) extinct class (if we're going by Prime!canon then Starscream is the only confirmed Vosnian Seeker left). Why Primus decided that cranking out new Vosnians would be a good idea is beyond everyone; everyone is too busy wondering how tf cyberforming works and what the consequences of it are to really question it.

Physically, she's not overtly femme— more androgynous, which is on brand for her Vosnian build. She's top-heavy with large pauldrons, shoulders double the width of her hips. Her new frame reflects her old human body in a very rough, vague way— only enough to be noticeable to those who really knew her before. She applies face paint by hand like her old makeup, and paints one servo red to match how she used to wear her nail polish. She's shorter than SS, around 30-ish feet tall (whereas he pushes 35'). She doesn't have a very good grasp on how her wings emote, therefore anyone who can read Seeker body language can always tell exactly how she's feeling.

She suffers with severe ptsd, depression, and body dysmorphia/ dysphoria as a result of the cyberforming and her human death, and semi-often has moments of panic and distress wherein she self-harms in an attempt to undo what's been done. In a potent mix of lingering human neurodivergency & the jarring biological shift, she often gets overwhelmed by her new body, notably her biomechanical functions: her optics cause a significant amount of stress on a regular basis, to the point where visual "notifications" and all other miscellaneous visual obstructions have to be disabled in order for her to function. This means no scanning data, etc, without purposefully reactivating the internal procedures required for the task. She also has a lot of trouble coping with the lack of sexual dimorphism. Shortly after her "awakening," she brutalized herself due to severe confusion and psychological distress (see the second to last image :( ) and KO had to sedate and mend her.

Every who encounters her and knows her story kinda assumes she just "came back" with a processor malfunction (or if they don't know her story, think she was just traumatized by the war), which isn't totally wrong. Knockout is one of her major supporters thru this and professionally thinks she probably needs a mnemosurgeon to fix her, but can't find any to contact so soon post-war.

She's rather clumsy, and takes a while to acclimate to such a different body (it also doesn't help that Seekers tend to have disproportionally long limbs, as well as cumbersome wings). She smacks things and other mechs with her wings, crushes things in her servos, basically she severely underestimates her own strength and size

One perk to her new body is that she can stream music directly into her processor, which is a function she abuses often to drown everything else out. There are functions she couldn't even dream of before: she can disable pain processors, turn off sight and hearing like throwing a switch, disable various biomechanical functions. She doesn't need to breathe like a human, or expel waste. Energon tastes like battery acid and firecrackers, but hey, she can turn off "taste" processors too.

She's afraid of herself at times, and by extension is afraid of intimacy too. She's afraid she's too different now, in a foreign body she can't seem begin understanding. She feels burdened by expectations; she's not a real Vosnian Seeker, she's not even a real Cybertronian in the way that counts— she is a freakish amalgamation of human memories and a soul stuffed into a shell made new especially for her, despite her having had no say in the matter... Or, at least, that's what she thinks. Those closest to her think she's a miracle and are thrilled to still have her, indefinitely now. Before when she was human, SS had been frustrated and genuinely afraid of feeling anything remotely positive towards her, because of how tragically short human life spans are (and his fears had been proven valid when she was killed). Now he has Marian forever, and while coping with his own problems post-war, he cares for her and teaches her how to be a noble Seeker.

-Yeah Jamil just walked straight into that pickup line completely unaware… Jade's never gonna let him live it down, if anyone ever tells him.

-Jade hides his emotions as well as he wants to when he's prepared, but have you noticed he's totally transparent when caught off guard in canon? I think he'd be more obvious than expected if something he wasn't prepared for made him uncomfortable.

-Yugioh voice: "You've activated Jade's special interest! You must stand by and listen to nature facts for a full hour." 

-Yeah Jade totally picked blue for poison specifically because it's such a universally innocuous color

-Jade: "Yeah I got whosits and whatsits galore" *opens door to reveal a horde of roadkill and mold*. Rizz game like no other

-Oh btw, another fun psychology thing: If someone has a lot of stressors that they can't control or afford to be afraid of, the repressed terror can manifest as really intense irrational fears to things that are safer to avoid. For example, Jamil can't do anything about his situation and the risks and pressure involved, but he can absolutely obliterate a bug with very little repercussion. I feel like that phenomenon explains the level of fear he has with bugs in canon tbh.

-I also just really love bugs and didn't want Jamil killing them for character accuracy, so I've inserted Jade as protection. 

-I might go into this more in some other post but like, I love the contrast of classic fishtail mermaids in their reef environments vs deep sea monster mermaids. There's just so much room to build on the potential cultures surrounding that.

-Did I need to go on a tangent about mermaid funerals? Will the details ever be plot relevant? Probably not. But hey, world building. (I'm considering Azul keeping a locket with his stepdad's teeth)

-!!! I've been waiting to drop more info about the tweels parents! Anyway, it's a personal headcanon that the twins' social issues developed in response to being involved in mob violence early on. Too much ugliness to handle as kids, and they both kinda broke in opposite ways. Also kinda ties into their unique magic imo: Floyd being expected to handle himself in a fight and needing a defense, and Jade needing a more efficient way to extract info from people. 

-I could go on a whole ramble about my ideas for the Leech parents, but the short of it is that I think Jade and Floyd each picked up some personality quirks from the parent they were around more, but mostly developed emotional responses to balance out each parent's behavior (ie: reserved, observant, and meticulous in response to unpredictable emotional outbursts, vs emotional instability and exaggerated emotional reactions in response to emotional neglect and under-reactivity), hence the two comparing each other to opposite parents last time it was brought up. It also resulted in them balancing out each other's dispositions, leading to the kinda codependent dynamic they have as adults. I think they'd both feel like they specifically came out wrong as a result too. Like, Floyd believing he should be more pragmatic and levelheaded like Jade (like his mom wanted), and Jade feeling like he's too far gone and distant to connect with other people the way Floyd does.

-Mind games can be a form of foreplay, if you're tedious enough.

-I think Jade and Jamil would have similar ways of showing insecurity, Jamil's just more flexible about it. Jade, meanwhile, has ensured a position where he doesn't have to relinquish control unless he chooses to

Blank was young when he started sleeping on the streets. (reason being that he ran away) and his gateway to a life of crime, was thievery for survival. (the world revolves around money, and he's a homeless runaway so the only way for him to survive is through theft.)

He Joined a Gang (or like a mafia group) not knowing that the certain gang he joined had a reputation for being acquainted with other criminal groups across the earth..

Blank's stealing was of good use to the gang but only temporarily. because the things they stole never lasted long

How He Joined V.I.L.E.

Because of the Gang's Reputation for being acquainted with other criminal organizations, Blank was told that he should join a Vocational School to enhance his Skills in Thievery.

Valuable Imports, Lavish Exports .. Blank thought that it was a good idea to join so he did.

(basically, It's similar to how Sonia was almost recruited as a student of V.I.L.E. academy by ms. contreras.. but younger.)

Blank ofcourse had to earn his status first before actually being considered by vile. (especially because of their standards and age requirement) and prove that he's actually capable of being able to join despite his young age.. this wasn't as easy as one says..

but because he was young and was able to disguise himself well, he always got away from the bluecoat's tails.

If disguises didn't work, He was Crafty. using things that he can find in the area, sometimes he even uses cans of deodorant or any gas and some fire to create an explosion in the distance as a distraction (basically a reuse, reduce, recycle kind of thief) he was never considered a suspect of such big thefts in his area because of his age and the fact that he disguises himself.

(blank even had a gang nickname for this. "The Chameleon" for being a master of disguise and blending in.)

V.I.L.E. slowly started to become aware of The Chameleon's presence in the criminal underworld. and is actually considering him as a Student for Vile Academy..

Coach Brunt and Shadow-san were absolutely against it

(even they were surprised that they can agree on something for once)

Shadow-san knew that Blank was Too Young for VILE (similar to how he saw Black Sheep)

Coach Brunt thinks that Blank would end up a traitor like Black Sheep.

either way, Blank was still able to join because of the Vote taken by the Faculty.

All in Favor were 3 of the faculty members

Professor Maelstrom liked Blank's strategy of Operating and Keeping to the Shadows.

Countess Cleo liked Blank's diverse styles in his disguises. and;

Dr. Bellum absolutely LOVED how crafty he was and how he's able to use his environment to his advantage.

How his days in Vile were like

Blank was certainly not treated like the other students. Because of Vile's Former Student Black sheep, Blank was Compared to Her.. how blank was younger when he joined the academy and that there's a possibility that blank could end up like Her.. Blank was always under the faculty's watch. (like how Black sheep was during her holdover year)

Shadow-san and Coach Brunt were always the hardest on Blank (in the hopes of making him give up and try again once he's come of age.)

Shadow-san always made Condescending Comments about how Blank is just a child. and that He won't even be able to get near Vile's standards (despite how well he's doing in class like everyone else)

And Coach Brunt always treated Blank Harshly, by telling him that the other students were always doing better during training and that Blank is just a chicken.(even if blank is doing as good as the others)

Either Way, Blank was constantly busy.. Under Dr. Bellum's Surveillance, in Countess Cleo's ways to "tame" blank (thinking that blank is as wild as black sheep for being younger) Meditating Sessions with Shadow-san (to ensure discipline), and extra training from Coach Brunt. (to make it all harder for blank)

How Blank Passed Vile Academy

Fun Fact, Blank had to Redo his Course work because he failed stealth 101. (the same reason why Black Sheep Failed. the coat was empty :D)

During Blank's 1st year exams. he was determined to prove to everyone at vile that he's capable of being an operative despite how old he is. (but failed even if he did his best. because the coat is literally empty)

During his 2nd year Exam. Blank was not gonna take Failure as an option..

Shadow-san set the clock to 2 minutes and the exam began.. blank triple checked every pocket he could reach in the coat but still nothing. blank was even starting to use brute force on shadow-san.

30 seconds left on the clock and Blank was definitely not having Failure.

Blank managed to snatch the coat off of shadow-san as he was tipped off..

blank kept checking EVERY pocket. now that the coat was out, blank definitely was gonna pass now.

shadow-san was still trying to grab the coat back with his might..

the timer runs out. shadow-san and blank are still fighting for the coat. for a damn dollar bill that isn't even in the coat.

Blank and his classmates realized that the coat was empty. and shadow-san was called out for it.

shadow-san had no other choice but to let blank pass.

hence, the reason why he was able to pass despite his young age.

Demya's hugs are warm and tight. She tends to squeeze,giggle and rock from side to side when she's happy and if she's feeling particularly clingy, she also rubs her face against MC's chest, cheeks or neck (Warning: those last acts may escalate into something else, like kisses or straight up hickeys, due to Demya having a sort of oral fixation-)

AZUL

Azul's hugs are unexpected, unpredictable, just like him. Sometimes his hugs are as gentle as a breeze, while other times they're tight and quick, there's hardly a middle ground and he's a huge tease. Moreover, his body temperature changes depending on his mood, so if for example MC were to hug Azul when he's sad, they would feel cold (cold colors=cold skin) (warm colors=warm skin)

ZURI

Zuri's hugs are comforting and quiet. Her embrace is almost as soft as having a blanket on and it would probably be able to melt MC's worries away, to make them feel safe. She tends to stroke MC's head or back if the hug lasts long enough and in the meantime she would be careful of her rather sharp nails of course

DOMNRA (MOBIM)

Domnra's hugs are brief and they usually don't involve much physical contact with MC, but that doesn't mean they lack love. His body temperature is pretty warm, almost like a furnace, so that means that his hugs are quite cozy. Mobim's hugs are like cuddling with a teddy bear, comforting and squishy. MC just needs to mind its horns, because those are a bit hard and rough. And while Mobim's tail is smooth, it's still a bit heavy due to the "crystal-like" sphere on its end

ODON

Odon's hugs are hesitant, as if they fear harming MC without meaning to. Moreover they aren't used to receiving affection, so they would be unsure on how to proceed, meaning that at the beginning Odon would need MC's guidance. Once learned how it's done, Odon's hugs would be characterized by a soft squeeze and a gentle hum

Inserting them into your own game might be a bit of a leap, but applying those concepts might serve some purpose!"

"Let's start with ORBs. Pretty big buggers that had been created through one way or another, with the first one simply being printed out."

"They served as hard time limits and ""skill"" checks with a roll to escape, appearing usually near the end of encounters/adventures, as a final unbeatable threat that you simply had to run away from while slowly covering up more of the canvas. You could risk doing more actions, or get consumed by the ORB! The first ORB was also particularly threatening, appearing in a time of many recruits being around, as a way to get rid of them completely from available play until the ORB itself was destroyed. Also deployed when the DM needed to end quickly, but don't say you heard that from me."

"In lore, the ORB was described as a nothing that slowly grew itself until it could consume the whole world! Now that didn't happen, but it sure did wreck havock upon the landscape. The inside of it quickly deteriorated non-organic matter, leaving non-mechanical recruits fine enough to rescue before certain void beings within got to them first."

"Y'know, you think they'd learn about creating their own world ending threats by the 10th time..."

"Licenses! They're something everybody and everything has for each of their attributes, no matter how basic or extrapolated! Rock license? Solid state license? French license? That's all there, and you can "take" it from that someone for yourself, while removing all those traits from the previous owner!"

Very interested in someone else taking note of the silly game of MSpain and I very much just recommend you people experiment and see what the players come up with as you play! Very much part of the fun is to build your elaborate web of lore and esoteric mechanics.

hiii i just wanted to say that your writing makes my day and it has always been delightful to read some of your pieces to the point i'm re-reading them ;o;;

do you mind if i ask what your writing process behind one shots and longfics are?

;w; omg thank you so much, the fact that you are taking the time to reread makes me so happy, I always wonder which pieces of my writing stand out to people more than others...It's useful info for me to continue improving, as well.

My process of writing longfic and oneshots is relatively similar, but with a few key differences!

For writing program, I just use Google Docs, but I have it a bit customized so it looks like this:

The main thing that helps me is the dark mode, and the endless page, because I only post online, so page view doesn't really help me, much.

Either with longfic or oneshots, my inspirations usually come from art that I see, but I always try to think of a distinct "theme" whenever I write anything, and have every single point connect back to that "theme" or idea, no matter how trivial it is. This theme can be literally anything, but usually it's something like "I want to write about the different ways people handle loss of control" or "I think fingering buttholes is hot, so I'm going to try and make it as hot as I possibly can, so that other people can understand how hot it is."

I see characters as tools to tell a good story, and regardless of how much porn is there, it still needs to be a good story, you know! If you just wanted senseless fucking, why would you read it when you could go watch porn? I need to give the reader that reason.

I also really like to write themes that subvert expectations, or force the audience to see a new perspective that they might have not otherwise considered. My femdom works as an example of that, as I would often read femdom self-insert fiction I felt was......."wrong"? idk, it wasn't hot to me, and it didn't feel like my kind of femdom. So I put my skills to where my mouth was and! I think it turned out well!

So once I have that theme or general idea (and by this point, it's usually pretty easy to select/create the characters that fit that), I make a rough outline. For oneshots, this is usually just in my head, unless there's a really specific scene in mind? But for longfic, I plan out....a lot. Not everything, but my outline for Niki's (Morbid) Kitchen was around 5.5k before starting so uh.

My outline usually consists of bullet points so, it'll be like this:

-This is the location/conflict

>chara does something

"Hey, you should probably use this dialogue"

-this happens next (oh no)

Or something along those lines.

Then, after that, I just fill it all in!

Occasionally, I will write without an outline but uh...yeah it can get messy, so I prefer to use one.

I've been told that I edit as I go, and I usually reread as I write. I hate completed drafts sitting there, so I often miss a lot of stuff when I do a light proofread, so I apologize for any typos you've seen. Feel free to point them out in my comments or in an ask here.

When it comes to the prose itself, I write in third person limited, past tense so uh—Third person, but also from a character's perspective. I like to see it as them telling me the story.

Additionally, something that helps me a lot is to think about "Show, not tell," so if a character is stressed, instead of just. saying that they're stressed, they will cross their arms, their heartbeat increases, and they start saying meaner things. Something like that.

I like to think about how I, or people I know would react to a situation, and also what reaction would help connect best to that theme I decided at the beginning.

CODENAME OBSCURA is a relatively simple parser with a retro-vibe, reminiscing of 90s spy movies (à-la James Bond), where you must rescue your partner in a small village in Italy, finish his mission... and save the world! The game includes in-game hints and an external walkthrough. I used the walkthrough a handful of times to solve some puzzles.

Spoilers ahead. It is recommended to play the game first. The review is based on my understanding/reading of the story.

From the premise, the game screams trope spy movie, almost to a silly degree*. You must catch the big baddy that took down your partner, or at least foil his plan to maybe save the world(?). Getting to him is not an easy feat! You must clear(-ish) your name of a murder you didn't commit, run around town buying/trading/gamble things for something else, pick up anything you can on your way, not get scared of the crows**, maybe pet a cat (or not), spy-ily find a way into the baddy's villa to find some secrets, and "break" some things to stop him. Oh, and there's the fighting sequence! *a boomerang?!?!? **are they following you???

The visuals of the game feel very retro, with 8-bit pixelated illustrations* and little colour**. The illustrations have different sizes or placement, adding a bit of depth into the mapping of the game. It was pretty neat and added to the funky vibe. *there was the hangar one that didn't change even after the plane was gone :/ **a bit of contrast with the different text elements would have been neat.

Most of the game is relatively smooth, though I did find some friction with certain commands: insert instead of use, or having to use adjectives instead of the noun*, or not having synonyms for certain verbs (pet/pat/stroke or climb/climb over...). There were moments where the game reloaded the page, removing important information a bit too quickly (for passwords), while it wouldn't automatically for actions like opening/unlocking a door or digging. It would also have been nice to have the translation of Italian phrases in-game/passage (please keep them, they added a lot of charm), to avoid missing information (Adventuron doesn't allow copy-paste...). This is not the game's fault but just me being an idiot, but I keep examining items before picking it up... and there were a lot in this game xD

The puzzles were a-plenty and quite diverse, but I still struggled a tiny bit with some, especially the box in the bedroom, the safe password, and the computer one. The rest involved quite a bit of running around*... I think I liked best the changing your costume ones the most (reminded me a bit of Agent 47). *this was a bit annoying, but by the time you enter the villa, no more frustration

One Piece OCs

As with many people who have watched/read One Piece, I have made my own crew for the world. Thing is, they’re not pirates (not even like the Straw Hats), even if a couple of them were one time or another.

I’ll break them down in the order they joined their crew. The captain was originally made for another setting, but her design is based on John Joseco’s humanized Princess Luna. Her name is Teleute, and in the world of One Piece, I made her family the descendants of a Sky Island with a special genetic quirk that makes their hair grow to look like the sky at the time of their birth (this is not the strangest thing in the setting, and anyone who has read or watched the series knows this). Teleute was born on a new moon midnight, so she has dark dark blue hair with sparkly spots like stars.

Teleute decided to set out to sea in search of true love, since all the girls on her home island were straight or taken. Her best friend, Shifter Dee, decided he would go with her to be her navigator, having learned the skill with his father, an ex-marine. Dee actually ate a Devil Fruit as a kid, an original creation (one of many) named the Shape Shape Fruit (Keijo Keijo no Mi), which allows him to manipulate and create the shapes of things, including his own body.

Not long into their journey, they encountered a trio of shipwrecked sailors from a failed pirate crew, two humans and a fishman. The fishman, a squid-type with multiple legs, but only two arms, by the name of Ula Mangeni is an amazing cook, with a dream of tasting everything the world has to offer. Their musician friend, Talib Kosi, wants to be a world-famous magician, and always wearing one of two masks: a plain white mask and one that looks exactly like it except for some lipstick. Because Kosi is genderfluid. The last of the trio is a doctor named Emeria Kamsa who wants to have at least one dear friend on every island.

While travelling their home sea of the West Blue, ferrying goods and people from one island to another to make money (like the crew of Serenity, but a good deal less illegal), they encounter their shipwright, Perbia Chase. Thirty years ago, he was experimenting with his new Devil Fruit, the Tempo Tempo Fruit, and accidentally slowed his tempo so much that he was thought to be a strange statue by an abandoned house in the woods by the people of the island. Chase is a self-described Mad Engineer (he hates it when people call him a mad scientist). Most of his creations explode, and some of them even on purpose. He wants to make a tool that can do anything. An omnitool if you will.

After Chase modified the ship, which I named The Weatherlight because I’m such a huge Magic: the Gathering nerd, so that it could fly, they flew over the Red Line to the South Blue, where they took on two more crewmates. Their purser, Lovelane D. Chrimon, user of the Life Life Fruit (Sei Sei no Mi), which made him effectively immortal outside of the water (he just wants to see something exciting, since he’s lived for ages), and the ship’s guard, Lisama a former Sky Island monk who was kicked out of his monastery when the other monks discovered he’d been born with a female body. He wants to find a Devil Fruit that can fix his body.

While on the Grand Line, they made it a point to collect as many Eternal Poses as possible so they could continue making a business out of ferrying people and cargo wherever they needed to be, even as they follow their dreams.

However, after reaching Sabaody, Teleute's hair gained the attention of a Celestial Dragon, who declared that she would be one of his concubines. Knowing the power of the World Nobles, she sullenly agreed. However, as this directly contradicted her reason for heading out to sea, as well as her orientation, her crew sort-of mutinied to rescue her from the Noble, earning their whole crew bounties and the following epithets:

"Night Sky" Teleute (Her hair)

"The Shaper" Shifter Dee (His power)

"The Immortal" Lovelane D. Chrimon (His power)

"Ceaseless Hunger" Ula Mangeni (He took a bite out of a guard)

"Reaper Man" Perbia Chase (He wears a black cloak and wields a scythe/rifle)

"Flayer" Emeria Kamsa (She dual-wields urumi)

"Faceless Mage" Talib Kosi (The masks and stage magic-illusions)

"Lord of Nightmares" Lisama (You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry)

The last member of the crew is also Teleute’s True Love, a New World Native from an island known as The Dune Sea, a place where water can’t exist except near special crystals, named Ashens Opal. Opal, however, has a rather darker dream than the rest of the crew: she wants vengeance on Blackbeard, who killed her father and the entire caravan he was travelling in.

And that’s my crew. I think this is one of the longest posts I’ve done. Not sure if I’ll ever get around to writing their adventures properly, though.

Jervis definitely should be shamed, he and Oswald hate each other in my little au and so in one timeline he literally used the fact his son actually fell in love and grew close to someone as a way of getting back at Oswald.

But, for as far as Calum can go before he's truly unreachable? Well, it's easy to tell. There's the little things that set him apart from his father, but the main thing has always been the fact that Calum still wonders if what he's doing is right. It's once Jervis "helps" him to stop worrying about that that he's truly unreachable

But for as far as Ezra will try to go before he deems him unreachable? Its hard to say, because it all depends on how far he's come in building that relationship with Calum. At the beginning? He's almost always ready to give up, but as he gets closer with Calum, as Calum trusts him more and more and shares more with him, that limit changes. And, as we see with one timeline, it changes so much as Ezra thinks he's still reachable after Jervis "helps" him, causing him to be brought into the very world he wanted to save Calum from.

And, on Ezra's part, not easy at first, because he was taught one thing by his father, and it was be careful about trusting any villain or villain family in Gotham. Be ready for them to turn on you. And to never trust a Tetch. His fathers and Jervis' little hatred might my have been even a thought in Calums (empty) head but to Ezra it meant something, at first. But like I said, he didn't realize until later that what he thought was just him wanting to save another villain kid from becoming a villain was him wanting to save someone he started to fall for, and once he realized that he decided in the best interest of both him and Calum,he has to put up a few boundaries and walls, those protected him more than he knew. For Calum it was the stereotypical love at first sight, but for Ezra there was a small spark that had to grow first before anything. And with that growing came him slowly learning to trust Calum as he learned more about Calum through Calum having both no filter and no sense of how much info was Too Much Info causing him to accidentally tell Ezra his life story not even a month into knowing each other. They started out as an honestly one sided friendship that grew to a true friendship and ending with them getting together after Ezra finally gets through to Calum and Calum actually seeks helps.

In the other au though, Ezra forgot to think about himself and focused solely on Calum, which lead to him refusing to initially have up those walls and boundaries that would've protected him from Calum and Jervis practically manipulating him to work for them. Calum accidentally dragged him in because he would constantly over share and would say things that would make Ezra question stuff including his own and Calums sanity, and Jervis took over with the revenge plot of turning Ozzie's son into a weapon against him, making him the March Hare eventually.

But in the main one, Ezra takes small precautions that ultimately would technically save him and Calum with him not noticing

I have a soft spot for characters that are the 'straight man' to others, or the problem solver, or The Responsible One (Mostly), and your description of him here gives me those vibes...especially when it sounds more and more like the apple didn't fall far from the tree for Calum [insert blond joke here] ;3 (Actually ditto for Ezra here, I love it how you're showing how Penguin Traits like knack for planning, organization, people management, and pure bloody-minded stubbornness looks when aimed at more constructive pursuits

Notes From Nash: Season 15 Episode 1

So here's the thing.

It wasn't bad.

It wasn't great.

Both those things are fine, of course shouldn’t want it to be bad, and matter of fact I didn't need nor want it to be great, better to save great for the finale.

But thing is, it was meh.

The premiere episode of your final season should be tight, tight, tight - no extraneous information or scenes, get in and get out, convey the most crucial of information, lay a foundation upon which to build.

And, well.... 

Meh.

Before we go on - If you're new, hi, I'm Nash. I don't so much recap these things (though I have been known to on occasion, time permitting) as break 'em down regarding the writing. I don't go in any particular order, sometimes it's in order of the ep, sometimes it's topically organized. Bail now if you're interested in meta and reading into shit or whatever. This is constructive critique, where I call it like I see it, both the nailed it-s and the whiffed it-s.

To begin with, let's get this out of the way - because it's relevant to what I'm about to say - that whomever is responsible for approving the release of the Jake Abel-as-Michael shots and the Sam-might-be-Samifer shots and the Dean-Mark-of-Cain shots and hey-is-that-Gabriel's-horn shots is a goddamned dimwit. They just blew some of their wad, right there. That should've been saved for gut-punches in episodes, not in previews and behind-the-scenes and all that other marketing jazz.

That foundation I mentioned before - I get what the season is going to be because, even if I hadn't picked up on it before-----

I had.

-----then I certainly did thanks to Sam's exposition anvil there at the end. *insert eye-roll*  And speaking of the end, that flashback to the shutting of the trunk was so hamfisted, it just... it just wasn't necessary. I've said this before: leave little treats for your longtime fans. That could’ve been one, that echo back to the beginning, but they whiffed it with that insert of the clip. And that's what the entirety of this season should be, frankly. There should be *zero* explaining, *minimal* flashing back, because if somebody's coming into this on year fifteen, then welcome to the fam and all, and also I am so sorry, you need to binge the fuck out of everything and then join in, we ain't got time for that. Neither should the writers. Them's the breaks. They don’t need to accrue new fans for higher/sustained ratings, it’s the end of the goddamn show, so quit spoon-feeding explanations, and with that nice little moment getting skewered, I groan at the thought of all the flashing back and explaining that could potentially lie ahead. 

So, foundation: is the foundation we're building upon this little town? Since that’s where we spent 98% of our precious season premiere time? This town where the ghosts who were interchangeably referred to as souls from hell are all clustered instead of flying away to wherever the fuck they want? Also, don't monster “souls” go to Purgatory? That specific clown was a creature, a rakshasa, not a ghost. If this is the ghost of that monster, did Purgatory bust open, too? If not, why? Why weren't souls also expelled from Heaven? From the Empty? From the Veil? The logical answer is, of course, because Sam and Dean would be no match for all of those, and we have to get them to the end of the season. But those are some nice places to start for laying a foundation: the rules of the game. At least some of the rules, so that they aren’t all dropped in one fell swoop with an exposition anvil from someone later down the road.

---> ETA: Several people have brought up to me that the clown is Gacy, not the Rakshasa who appeared as a clown in Season 2 Episode 2 "Everybody Loves A Clown". 

Two things here:

(1) Yes, I checked, and see what y'all mean - the clown we saw is indeed dolled up just like the Gacy ghost from end of S14. I think the writers whiffed this because... 

(2) ...the Rakshasa fits more with what they've shown in 15.1 (the Rak went after a child at her house in 2.2), and it also fits the theme of ghosts from the way-back-when, re: Bloody Mary and Woman In White, so since they've got such a hard-on for this Sam-and-clowns thing and apparently want to drive it into the ground, they should've chosen the Rak  

Also worth noting, the writers never should have made it Gacy in the first place, the most cursory google of Gacy would've told them that the clown thing has been blown way out of proportion and has essentially nothing to do with his murdering (i.e. - it wasn’t his killin’ costume/part of his killing m.o./routine). I won't go into detail here, you can go on that journey yourselves, but his jam was not going after a cabin full of teens, nor children’s birthday parties, nor was it just willy-nilly murdering whomever he laid eyes on. 

It was stupid call by the writers, and they should feel stupid.

The reason I mention all of these places: these aren’t just the monsters that Dean and Sam have killed. This is what it *should* have been. But I feel - at this point, having no other info - that this is a major whiff on the writers’ parts, having all the souls in hell come to the surface. Because that’s what new demon friend said - that all the doors opened, that hell was chaos. So it’s not just the ones that Sam and Dean killed, at least that��s what I’m divining from that statement. 

[unpause]

I give no fucks about this little town. Try this: Have them going back to the bunker to re-group and seeing things along the way, such as that car on the side of the road like they did. Perhaps they hear about a massacre at a slumber party from Jody. Perhaps Sam is checking the internet while Cas is frowning and looking at his wound, and is like "A mother and child escaped from a birthday party where a bunch of people were killed and they swear it's a clown. Dean - these are all our old cases."

[pause]

Stop with Sam and clowns. We got it. 

NO REALLY WE GOT IT

Or if gonna do it, be creative about it.

Then speaking of Cas and the bullet wound - another bit of bad writing, here. Subtlety, writers. Look it up. Here's how it should've gone:

. Cas: [frowning as hand hovers over Sam's shoulder]

Sam: What?

Cas: [narrows eyes; hesitates] Something... I'm not certain. [meets Sam's eye] I don't think I'm able to heal it completely. Are you in much pain?

Sam: [seeming a bit surprised at his own answer] No, actually. It's not-----

[Sam cuts himself off as Cas' hand makes contact with his shoulder; sees blurry, muddled flashes of suggestive visions; gasps and stumbles back] .

See? We arrived at the same place, but elegantly. Less "YOU'RE TOTALLY GONNA BE LIKE A SAMIFER SOMETHING-SOMETHING YOUR VISIONS ARE BACK BLEEEECCCCHHH VOMITS CHUNKY FORESHADOWING"

The point is, the fuck with this town? We're back there next week, too? WHO CARES. And I bet you money, with how much time they wasted in this ep and the time I betcha they're gonna waste next ep, that I----

Er, um. I mean that "they". Ahem. The writers.

----could've combined whatever is going to be accomplished next ep into this one for an actually meaty season premiere. Which this was not. This was not a hearty, filling steak. This was yesterday's meatloaf that's still pretty tasty but soggy.

It's the little things. You scrap every single extraneous bit. Seconds are precious because when you add up enough clumps of them, they can equal minutes. Here's a tiny example: Sam laying on the floor of the crypt and being like "I hear water" then it's like "you hear water?" then "yeah maybe it's a drainage line" then "or a sewer" then "let's break this open", then the breaking, then here comes corpsey friend.

Instead: They're talking and there's increasingly aggressive banging on the door, they all scootch a little closer to the opposite wall, then corpsey busts through. We don't need all that blah-blah. And as much as I love new demon friend, I genuinely do, there was too much blah-blah-banter with him, as well. Huge props on the Alastair callback, *that* is the shit I was talking about earlier, callbacks with no other explanation, just the look on Dean's face when he said it was plenty. Well played, there. 

Otherwise, let's goooooooooo. The pacing was all off, there was *way* too much time wasted, especially with all the Sam and Cas going through the town stuff. Easily two-to-three minutes could've been shaved off of that alone.
