What is your stance on the insignificance of man versus the cosmos? Fear or solace?
the cosmos and i are not at war so i don't believe in "versus". it is and so i am. that is all. the thread is not separate from the tapestry etc.

Out of all the ships, which would you say are the most heavily implied in-game?
generally i have a rule of no shipping on this blog and will ignore any asks i get about it but you know what i'll do this one because idk sounds fun. and also if it's canon i get free pass.
the thing you have to remember is that this is an idol game. idol games/franchises like love live/bandori/enstars etc are known for ship baiting to hell and back but never actually doing anything about it because, well, money. even though they'll tease at lots of ships because that way you make more fans happy the writers often have more obvious favorites (sometimes if one that they don't really write becomes popular within fandom they'll add it in as well), and this is definitely the case with project sekai. will they ever make any characters be official couples? i dunno, but it's unlikely unless they decide to pull a D4DJ (that said prsk isn't subtle about the fact that Mizuki is trans and they did address that gay people exist that one time, so there's always a chance). anyway
it's explicitly stated in the text that An views the events of Buddy Funny Spend Time as romantic. In her Peak Excitement card story she calls it a date and the way that she, her dad and Mizuki talk about it is in a not-platonic way. Out of the four from that event though, she is the only one who seems to view it as an actual date. So she's canonically romantically interested in Kohane. Oh and Kohane is attracted to her and is very heavily implied to reciprocate if the An wedding event wasn't obvious enough about it.
also i wrote this that one time
other than that there's definitely some other instances of characters showing attraction to each other, and some things that are very much written to have romantic undertones that fans can interpret in that way if they choose to, and also the use of daisuki on like 6 ships (which is the idol game's favorite word for love because it's more ambiguous), and some cover songs that are explicitly romantic but then again you can do the "it's just a song" excuse. the above two examples are the most explicitly stated ships though. at the end of the day at least we technically have two canon ships even if it's only confirmed in the text from one side and they aren't dating because as long as the feelings are there that's really what counts as canon, right? like who cares if they're dating it's incredibly unlikely that the game will ever do that so it's not really worth arguing over which ones are more likely to date.

I don’t know what one does when everything about the way she’s wired is meant to create a home for someone, but she doesn’t have one for which to make a home

no one cares but imo. literally why does it matter if someone goes to a club or not lol
i dont live anywhere near them, im poor and live in a very rural and isolated area and i have shit that makes clubs in general not ideal. social anxiety, autism and sensory issues, photosensitive epilepsy, physical disabilities, immunocompromised. it doesn't matter, i shouldn't have to justify or explain why im 9/10 never going to a club and that im fine with it
but some people throwing around its a crucial life event/rite of passage to adulthood is gross. for people like me, its a giant health risk and something i CANT do. making it sound like youre missing out on life for not participating in something is just gross and feels slightly ableist, even if you have good intentions and thats not where its coming from.
also like... i promise someone having anxiety and being kinda pressured/internalizing that shame and going to a social thing where theyre told theyre supposed to be enjoying themselves is almost a full guarantee it'll just make it worse. you can easily say ‘i love clubbing, here's some things that may make it easier for others to try it’ or whatever. like making it more inviting and less intimidating is 1000% better than just bashing someone for not going lmao

It may sound weird but I like how short yet impactful Riko's role is in the story.
Objectively, we only spent a very short time with her. So, did Gojo and Geto.
Riko only has barebones of a characterization with no proper arc to speak of.
We know she's only a fourteen year old orphan lovingly raised by her maid. She felt isolated by her specialness and had long convinced herself that she was okay to be assimilated into Tengen.
We know that she loved her friends. She loved Kuroi. She loved having fun at the beach - that one special carefree day at Okinawa stripped her of her own lies about being alright with dying.
We know she was a girl who chose to live at the last second before the end.
Those are the only things we know about her. Too little of a glimpse to truly know and judge her but they were no less meaningful.
Riko Amanai is a fourteen year old girl. She loves her sole family and friends. She wanted to live. That was all the reason Gojo and Geto needed to lay their own lives to protect her. No more. No less.
Riko Amanai was a fourteen year old girl in a story about sorcery. Her role is pitifully short and her background is at best murky. However, we understand, without question, that she deserved more - could have offered more. She wanted to live just as we wanted her to live. No more. No less.

My scavenge for screenshots that I might use in an upcoming video essay led me to Lilith Fairen’s blog where, lo and behold, she apparently saw this post of mine and decided she had to talk about it
That’s an interesting way to say “the blog has me blocked, so I can’t reblog the OG post.” Fairen, you know what a block means, right? It means I don’t consent to you being on my damn blog. So either you don’t understand what boundaries are or you think it’s okay to ignore them so long as it’s the right kind of person you’re invading. Neither of which reflect well on you

I think it's fine if people don't want to post about palestine on tumblr. it's not like that's the pinnacle of activism, and not posting on tunglr dot com doesn't equal not caring or never talking about it anywhere or not doing anything else.
but I do think it's interesting that so many of the people I've seen ignore the genocide in palestine on here were posting about ukraine not so long ago. clearly then they wanted to talk about war and politics on tumblr. which doesn't necessarily mean they don't care about palestine, of course. but it sure is interesting.

im normally so critical of nazisploitation movies, bc most of them refuse to deal in any way w systematic extermination, starvation & actual nazi ideology (basically anything that had to do w the holocaust at all), which im partially grateful for ngl. i rlly dont think an ilsa she wolf of the ss film or the beast in heat would in any way do a good job depicting any part of the shoah. but the fact that the title sequence of a in a glass cage already deliberately shows and references all this is def a mark in its favour
