OMG Tks to your blog i finally know who started this bullying with SNOW and the others. i can report,block them & their supporters. Those people are obsessed with the characters in a way they take everything personally. There are bloggers who professionally project themselves onto Sasuke cringe. Now apparently there are people who do this with Naruto's character. They are offended for him, for the whole japanese nation, they try to save them from fanart facepalm

And they use all of those non-sensical arguments like "Naruto set in feudal Japan" or that fanartist's style erases Japanese race from anime. They obviously manipulate to fan the situation out.

Narutoverse is not feudal Japan. It's not Samurai Champloo filled with anachronisms. It's a made-up world loosely based on the Shinobi and Bushido ideas with the elements of both modern & old japanese culture. I wonder if those ppl noticed how the Hyuga family is heavily influenced by Chinese culture, that Rock Lee is an homage to Jacky Chan's character in Drunken Master and Killer B is a black rapper. The cultural context matters in Naruto but not in a way they interpret it. They should at least stop twisting things in an attempt to find arguments (I know why they don't want tho. Admit they it's a made-up world it means everybody can be there and their case would crumble).

This thing exists either because of people's cultural experience, or it's an attempt to look woke. If it's the second case - no comments. If the first one, for them it is a matter of representation, it's 100% valid. Their experience is important and they definitely should block Snow. Or talk to her directly. But somehow specific cultural experience is not big enough for them, so they extrapolate & project, they create drama and not justice.

Whitewashing is 100% bad. But it exists inside specific sociocultural context. Whitewashing against Asians is not a thing in Japan or japanese media which anime is a part of. Even with the Naruto fanart/fandom it's mostly not a thing. It's not the case of a western show's single asian character being erased by fanartists. Japanese people consitute more than 90% of Japan. This is why it's main ethnicity in Naruto and in most animes. Those people confuse cause and effect.

What they do looks like narsiccistic obsession. They project their views and experience onto the characters, onto the whole fandom, onto the whole Japanese nation... They even write asks like "u made Asian people mad". Meaning, they are most probably white who talk for the Asians (white saviors huh?) Does any of them even fight for nikkeijin diaspora?

Calling people "freaks", hating on other nations in their blogs are not ok. I agree that Snow said some insensitive things...but she obviously was provoked. And nothing she says can satisfy these bullies. They want her to seize to exist because only that would please their egos. They don't even have the balls to talk with artists directly, they are not interested in healthy discussion. I don't think they want it or to change the situation for the better,or to educate people. They want to bully because it makes them feel good and righteous. So they provoke the artists and then wish them to disappear etc..

Those people should see a therapist.

And go out, and see there's real life problems more urgent than people drawing with a different style from the source material.

All the wedding content. I want to see them plan the wedding, the little details, fighting over color schemes and whatnot. I want to see it all.

Carlos Whump. Listen, I love Carlos. He's one of my favorites. But TK has been through a lot of Whump and we always see worried Carlos. Give me worried TK. Give me Carlos angst.

Carlos begins. I really want to know more about Carlos. Where he comes from. Who he is outside of being a cop and TK's boyfriend. I want to see all the things that make up who he is. Give me a backstory.

I want to see more stories involving others of the 126. Give me a Paul love story. Give me more Marjan. I want more Nancy and Mateo. I want them all to have their own little adventures and see what makes up their lives outside of the 126 and their jobs.

More 126 hangouts!!!!

Less Owen always ending up being a hero let someone else - like Carlos - save the day.

The Cherry On Top • 01 • 02 | The Cherry On Top • 03

“Kozume, are you even listening to me?” Akaashi sighs and closes his laptop. He was only halfway through his scheduled agenda for today’s meeting, but there was no point in continuing if his client was just going to ignore him for the whole hour.

“I am, I am,” Kenma mumbled, eyes fixated on something that was hidden under the table.

“What did I just talk about for the last ten minutes then?” Akaashi challenged.

“We’re changing my video uploads from Tuesdays to Fridays, and Black Sheep wants to do a sponsorship with me in my next stream,” Kenma replies without skipping a beat. His feline eyes are still glued to his phone, unblinking, as his fingers tapped away at one of his games.

Akaashi sighed once more. “And you’re fine with the upcoming changes and sponsorship then?”

Kenma nodded. “Akaashi. I trust you to make the best decisions for me.” He finally slipped his phone back into his pocket and tilted his head to look his friend in the eye. “I didn’t hire you as my manager for no reason.”

“If I knew working with you was going to be this difficult, I would’ve stuck with my previous job.” Akaashi flashed the male a wry smile.

“Hey, if you want to hand in your resignation letter right now and go back to your previous life of disgusting convenience store food and cigarettes for lunch, by all means.” Kenma smirked and extended a hand out, palm up as if waiting for an actual resignation letter to manifest from Akaashi.

Akaashi cleared his throat and reopened his laptop. “Moving on...”

“TOORU!!!” Y/N screamed at the top of her lungs as soon as she spotted the fashion editor from across the courtyard. Lunchers nearby stared at the loud girl before turning their heads to look at the unfortunate boy on the receiving end of the shout.

Oikawa contemplated ignoring his friend and instead considered turning around to head back inside TK Mag’s office building. He would rather eat with his annoying suck-up intern than his embarrassing friend. Unfortunately for him, said friend yelled his name once more and beckoned for him to come over.

Oikawa’s eye twitched and he reluctantly trudged across the courtyard and towards Y/N.

“Don’t be so embarrassing, Y/N-chan,” Oikawa grumbled as he took a seat across from her.

“Oh please, as if that airplane tie you’re wearing isn’t embarrassing,” Y/N shot back, eyes flickering up once at the cartoon-printed tie before back down at her laptop screen.

“They’re UFOs, for your information,” Oikawa mumbled through gritted teeth, “and besides, Ayame-chan said it was cute, so your opinion is invalid and unnecessary.”

“Enough about your tie. I’m about to literally combust from nerves.”

“What is it this time?” Oikawa rolled his eyes and lazily sipped his latte.

“I’m about to schedule my first blog post for tomorrow.” At this, Oikawa’s eyes widened and he straightened up in his seat.

“Who’s the unlucky victim?” Oikawa scooted closer to Y/N, their elbows touching as he leaned in to read off her screen.

“You know, for someone who looks like she’s about to shit her pants from nerves, you wouldn’t be able to tell with Cherry’s online persona,” Oikawa hummed and nonchalantly commented.

Y/N smacked his shoulder once in response.

“That’s the whole point, Oinkawa. No one’s supposed to know that Cherry is me, and that I am Cherry.” Y/N sighed and brought the tip of her thumb to her mouth. She nibbled on her fingernail nervously as she clicked on the draft of her blog post. “Well? Can you tell who it is?”

“I would say Miya Atsumu, the MSBY setter, but I wouldn’t exactly call him beautiful, Y/N-chan.”

“It’s not Miya Atsumu and you take that back! He is beautiful, but that’s besides the point; it’s Kozume Kenma, the professional gaming streamer and content creator.”

“Well that’s subjective,” Oikawa sneered. Iwaizumi once had the opportunity to interview Miya Atsumu for an editorial, and Oikawa had tagged along much to Iwaizumi’s headache. Having played as a setter as well during his time in high school, Oikawa had some differences with Atsumu’s playing style, and the two did not get along too well that day.

“How’d you even get this dirt on Kozume Kenma anyways?” Oikawa made a face and smacked Y/N’s hand away from her mouth. “That’s disgusting, Y/N-chan, and you’re getting nail polish in your teeth.”

“I stalked his fan accounts on Twitter. It’s amazing what you can find with a little digging, to be honest.” Y/N scanned her draft. “And a little scary,” she added as an afterthought.

“Ugh, kami, I can’t do this, Tooru!” Y/N whined and shut her laptop, taking her head into her hands. “This is the most disgusting line of work I’ve ever imagined myself having to do.”

“You know no one is forcing you to take this promotion, right?” Oikawa leaned back and crossed his arms across his chest.

“This is Y/N and TK Mag we’re talking about here.” Oikawa and Y/N turned around at the new voice. “If you were over $100k in student debt and a well-known and well-paying company offered you a promotion, wouldn’t you take it?” Iwaizumi and Hanamaki walked up to the duo and took a seat at their table.

“You’re literally talking about the girl who’s dream is to become a princess and find a rich prince charming to take care of her,” Hanamaki added.

“Hey!” Y/N interjected, but was ignored.

“But she also didn’t graduate as a journalist with an emphasis in fashion from UTokyo to become a gossip blogger,” Oikawa pointed out.

“Okay can we not talk about me like I’m not here?” Y/N pouted. “And you all have valid points.”

She sighed. This was a tough decision. Y/N does have a lot of student debt to pay off, and the pay raise that came with the promotion was definitely enticing and worth drooling over. On the other hand, Oikawa was right in which Y/N didn’t graduate with over $100k in debt with a journalism degree to become a gossip blogger. But one thing that Y/N also had to think about was that this promotion would’ve been her opportunity to become a full-time employee at TK Mag, her dream company. And then there was Hanamaki, who was there just to out her (slightly) embarrassing and (very much so) unrealistic dream.

“Why’d you even take the promotion anyways? You could’ve just stayed an intern and wait for staff writer positions to open up.”

Y/N knocked twice before entering the Editor in Chief’s private office. “Good afternoon, Chief! You wanted to see me?”

“Oh yes, Y/N, come in. Please, take a seat while I finish up this email.”

Y/N grinned and skipped over to the loveseat that occupied the middle of the office. She crossed her legs and smoothed her blouse. Y/N was buzzing, and it wasn’t just because of the three cups of coffee she had stomached throughout the day.

“Judging by how you can’t sit still, I’m assuming you know why I called you in here.”

“Oh, sorry. I’ve had one too many cups of coffee today,” Y/N responded sheepishly. “But I hope you’re gonna tell me what I think it is you’re gonna tell me.”

It was hard for Y/N to keep the smile on her face from growing as she watched her Chief pull out a folder and place it down on the coffee table in front of her. The smile on Y/N’s face grew bigger as the Chief pulled out a piece of paper and slid it towards her. It was exactly what Y/N was expecting: a contract for a full-time position at the company.

“Congratulations, Y/N. Your hard work has not gone unnoticed these past few months you’ve been at TK Mag as an intern, and we’d like to extend our offer to you as a full-time employee.”

“Yes, yes, yes! I accept!” Y/N squealed and eagerly looked through her tote bag for a pen. “I don’t even care what staff writer position it’s for -- although my first choice would be for the fashion department since I did go to school for fashion journalism -- but I’m so excited!!” Y/N was already picturing herself attending fashion shows with Oikawa.

“Y/N, wait. Before you sign, I just want you to know that the full-time position isn’t to become a staff writer for the fashion department.”

“Huh?” Y/N stopped riffling through her bag. “...What is it for then?”

“TK Mag is going to try something new. We’re going to branch out to a sister site and run a gossip blog called The Cherry on Top. I want you to take on the alias as Cherry and run the blog.”

“Gossip... blog...? The Cherry on Top? Me?” Y/N could hardly comprehend what the Chief was saying.

“Will you accept? I know it’s a brand new position and something we’ve never done before at TK Mag, but we have high hopes and I know you’ll do well as one of my best employees.”

“With all due respect, Chief, I’m a fashion writer. I write about fashion week and the latest trends in the fashion industry. I don’t write gossip nor do I want to slander anyone. It’s not my cup of tea.” Y/N narrowed her eyes. She couldn’t believe the Chief wanted her to do such dirty work.

“I had a feeling this might be the case.” The Chief sighed, and all signs of pleasantries disappeared. “Listen, Y/N, if you don’t want this promotion, I’ll give it to the next intern in line. But just know that if you don’t take this position, you’re going to have to clear out your desk by end of day and find a new company to work for.”

Y/N was in disbelief. She couldn’t believe her career was getting threatened. Her grip on her pen tightened as she stared at the document in front of her. The words Full-time Employee Contract for: Cherry, The Cherry on Top seemed to glare at her.

“There will also be a hefty raise included in your promotion,” the Chief added after witnessing Y/N’s hesitation. “You did just graduate from UTokyo, did you not? Surely you don’t want to be riddled with student debt.”

Y/N was torn. What was she going to do? TK Mag was her dream company, and if she refused the promotion and got let go, she would drown in debt. Surely being a gossip blogger wouldn’t be too bad, right?

Y/N swallowed her pride and uncapped her pen. With a quick flourish, she signed her signature on the contract and forlornly shook hands with a now-smiling Chief.

I hope I didn’t make the wrong decision...

“You made the right decision, Y/N. Welcome to the team.”

Y/N gulped. She couldn’t tell her friends that her job security had been threatened if she didn’t take the promotion.

“Well maybe it was time for me to grow up. I don’t need a rich prince charming to take care of me. I’ll take care of myself with my new pay raise.” Y/N grimaced on the inside. She hoped that was convincing, but judging by the silent stares she received from her three male friends, even she knew they weren’t too believing of her.

“Anyways, Cherry promised her 500 followers the first post will be up tomorrow, and she isn’t one to break promises, so... let’s queue this baby up.” With a swift click of her trackpad, Y/N’s first gossip post as Cherry was scheduled.

Unbeknownst to Y/N, Oikawa, Iwaizumi, and Hanamaki shared a look.

Kenma was unfazed. He really was. Even when his Twitter notifications blew up with mentions, he simply ignored them. It wasn’t like he paid much attention to them in the first place anyways. And when he was in the middle of streaming and his Twitch chat started spamming the link to the blog post, he simply told his mods to delete comments that had anything to do with it.

Kenma was unfazed. Simply because it just wasn’t true. And even though the readers didn’t know if it was true or not and the article was currently trending in the Esports vertical and being repurposed for other articles, Kenma knew it wasn’t true and therefore did not care.

Except Akaashi was getting on his nerves as his manager continued to try to bring it up in conversations.

“Kozume, you have to say something.”

“Why?” Kenma sighed. He really didn’t see the need to say anything. It wasn’t like this was the first time Kenma had been the subject of a rumor. It was all going to die down soon anyways.

“It’s been three days already and people are still commenting on it. Your fans are upset, and I think you owe it to them to explain your side.”

“It’s not a big deal, Akaashi. If fans are that upset about a rumor of me boosting League accounts as a side business, they probably should get a job and hop off Twitter once in a while,” Kenma mumbled and continued to click away on his game controller.

“Well it’s not just your fans that are upset, Kozume. Your sponsorship with Black Sheep is also on rocks right now because of the rumor.”

At that, Kenma’s fingers slowed, and he watched his character get headshot by the enemy on the TV.

“You’re telling me that they believe some stupid rumor that was probably written by a jealous 13-year-old?” Kenma scowled, and Akaashi finally felt his friend getting serious about the situation. It wasn’t often that Kenma showed his emotions other than his usual aloof self, but when his projects started to get affected, Kenma took things really serious.

“It’s not that they believe it, but they haven’t been as responsive to my emails as they usually are ever since the post was published. It seems they might be taking your silence as the truth.”

Kenma sighed and tossed his controller to the side. He wasn’t in the mood to game anymore. Instead, he stood up and trekked down the hallway towards his game room. Looks like he had a fire to diffuse if he wanted to keep his sponsorship alive.

Morning Activities

so i was tasked with writing more xenoblade by a fellow tk blogger, and from the potential ideas i was given, i went with meliora fluff

this takes place post-game so pretty big spoilers get brought up

hopefully i interpreted the prompt correctly and also kept them in character!

Melia was the first to wake, opening her eyes to find dawn peaking in. Sunbeams stretched across the bed, landing upon its two occupants. The High Entia smiled upon seeing her companion illuminated softly by the warm light. Fiora always looked radiant in the morning, and Melia never grew tired of seeing her.

“Good morning,” Melia greeted a few moments later when Fiora finally stirred from her slumber. Fiora yawned softly, blinking sleep from her eyes, making Melia’s heart flutter with fondness. Melia reached out to push her hair back from where it obscured part of her face. The gesture earned her a small giggle, the sound coming out sweet yet startled.

“Hehehey... Good morning to you, too,” Fiora greeted back once she’d composed herself. Though her reaction was clearly affectionate, Melia knew there was more to it. She couldn’t possibly have missed the way Fiora rubbed at the side of her neck. Specifically, the spot her own hair had brushed when Melia had moved it ever so gently.

“You’re so sensitive,” Melia couldn’t resist saying. “And to think you had the nerve to tease me.”

“You always had the cutest reactions,” Fiora countered, now fully awake.

“I did not.”

“You definitely did.”

Melia pouted as Fiora smirked.

Deciding to take the exchange as a challenge, Melia huffed, then ducked under the sheets. Fiora jumped when she felt hands on her hips, followed by fingers dancing up her sides.

“Meheliahahaha!” she nearly squealed, jolting in shock at the unexpected attack. Melia pinched and poked at her torso, reveling in the response it evoked.

Compared to all the times Fiora had tickled her, Melia still hadn’t paid her back in full. However, it didn’t take long to notice that Fiora wasn’t putting up that much of a struggle. In fact, she might’ve even been trying to hold still, which only piqued Melia’s curiosity further. Deciding that it would be easiest to just ask, she emerged from the covers, expression curious.

“You don’t seem to be fighting me... Did you actually want me to tickle you?”

Blushing slightly, Fiora hesitated, then mumbled a confession into her pillow.

“Maybe... um... maybe a little... I think I missed the way it felt.” It hadn’t been long since she’d recovered her body. Melia instantly softened in sympathy.

For most of the time they’d known each other, Fiora had barely resembled a Homs. It had certainly surprised Melia at first, seeing a Homs face attached to a mechanized body. However, it didn’t take Melia long to reorient herself and grow accustomed to the form. When she really thought about it, though, it must have been far more jarring for Fiora.

What must it have been like to regain consciousness and find so much flesh replaced by metal? Melia couldn’t even imagine the shock, or how she could have begun to cope with it. What must it have felt like? How had Fiora adapted? Naturally, Melia knew she was strong, but the mental fortitude it must have taken...

“Fiora, all you had to do was ask.” Her tone was sincere without any hint of judgement. Fiora let out a sigh of relief, losing some of the tension in her muscles.

“Although,” Melia went on to say, allowing mischief to enter her voice, “I suppose that’s a rather dangerous request, especially when you’re as ticklish as you are.”

Fiora did squeal when Melia’s nails suddenly made contact with her bare stomach. Reflexively, she started scooting backwards, nearly pushing herself off the bed.

“Now, now, don’t tell me you’re running,” Melia teased as she followed the movement. Making sure Fiora wouldn’t fall off, Melia wrapped an arm around her waist. “Don’t worry, I’ll be nice,” she promised before she officially commenced. Fiora giggled but didn’t move again when Melia resumed her previous ministrations.

Spirals, hearts, nonsensical patterns... Melia traced them all against Fiora’s skin. Fiora trembled beneath every ticklish touch, almost pulling away again when Melia circled her navel.

“Ehehehe! Meliahahaha!” she called out aimlessly, earning another look of endearment.

“Yes, what is it?” Melia answered because she could. “While your laugh is simply adorable, I can barely understand you through it.”

“I dohohon’t- ahahahahahaha!” Fiora didn’t finish her sentence. Truth be told, even she didn’t know what she wanted to say in that moment.

Slowly, Melia made her way upwards, revisiting Fiora’s sides with the lightest graze of her fingertips. When she eventually reached her ribcage, she made sure to take her time, massaging each and every rib, bringing forth a new flood of giggles.

“Nohoho!” Fiora protested just as Melia reached the top.

“Are you going to let me continue, or have you finally had enough?” Though Melia maintained a tone of playfulness, Fiora could hear an undercurrent of sincerity. She hardly even entertained the question before relaxing both of her arms.

Melia accepted the invitation.

“Mmmmehehehehehehe!” Fiora twitched and tittered as Melia tapped at her hollows. Despite her best efforts, her arms jerked a few times as her body urged her clamp them down. Still, she managed to persevere, allowing Melia continued access. Melia tickled right under her arms with the gentlest of touches she could offer.

Eventually, when they both seemed satisfied, Melia decided to switch spots again. Thinking back to how the morning had started, she leaned in to nuzzle at Fiora’s neck. Fiora immediately flinched in surprise, then felt a wing brush lightly against her cheek. She couldn’t tell if the latter action was intentional, though the combination of sensations was certainly effective.

Curling her fists into the bedsheet, Fiora managed to endure the tickling for about a minute more. Once that minute had passed, however, she called for mercy, having reached her limit.

“Are you alright?” Melia inquired, ceasing as soon she heard the request. She shifted back a bit to give Fiora space, though Fiora was quick to take hold of her hand.

“Yes... I’m fine,” Fiora reassured. “Just need a moment to catch my breath... Thank you, by the way, for... all of that...”

“My pleasure,” Melia murmured, placing a kiss on her cheek.

I recently spoke with a tker and was baffled at how much misinformation they have. #1 GCFtokyo was originally a vminkook trip #2 JK said tae's and his relationship wasn't for the cameras in 2014 at a fan sign (this is why they believe big Hit is hiding their relationship) #3 Jk said he prefers tae over Jimin #4Jk mainly drops honorifics with Tae #5 dangshin just means you so Jk saying that to Jimin is no biggy #4 Jk also gives presents to Tae on his bday. Just to name a few things. part 1

part 2: I used to wonder why they think big hit is hiding their relationship but then I realized it came from 1 tumblr blogger back in 2014 claiming that JK said at a fan sign that his and tae's relationship isn't for the cameras. I searched everywhere for this for days and only found 1 source from 2014. I later learned it was fabricated. But even if it wasn't recently debuted tk were way more interactive on camera so??

Part 3: Also the whole Gcft was for vminkook originally is just a blatant lie. JK purchased those tickets on Jimin's birthday a month before the trip. We sadly know this from a sasaeng who exposed Jikooks trip in october. The reason they think the trip was for vminkook is because Jimin said he talked to Tae and others also about going to Tokyo in the past.

You’ve said a mouthful anon! At this point, I’ve come to the realization that they don’t care about the misinformation they receive, so why waste my time trying to provide them facts.

When I’ve tried before it’s, you guys are jealous of TK, and I’m like no you are just believing the spin of lies you’ve been fed, but they’ve been so brainwashed to belive these things, that they will NEVER believe they aren’t true, because they’ve been taught and trained that if it doesn’t fit their narrative, then it’s false information.

You, I, and every jikooker know that GCFT was NEVER planned as a Vminkook trip, but because we got GCFT out of it, that was so beautifully shot and edited, and happened to be all about us seeing JM through JK’s eyes, they had to find a way to spin that, because how do you justify your “supposed boyfriend”, taking someone else on a trip he paid, planned and the filmed, using a song by a gay artist as the backdrop? 😏

Don’t even get me started on the BH hides them narrative. That is just silly beyond any words I can describe. If you notice, they only say that when they don’t get content as often as they would like, but the minute they breathe in the same direction of each other, it’s they are so loud! They want it both ways!

At any rate, yes a lot of what they believe never happened or they twist the context of what was said. 🙄

I was thinking recently about TK/K2 - specifically why we’re still dealing with both - and came up with a few reasons I was hoping to bounce off someone…? (you seem like a smart/friendly blogger so…I’m gonna throw ‘em your way lol). 1) TK stirs up controversy like nothing else; People hate him or they love him. Perhaps in the show runner’s minds, anything that causes such a strong reaction is a good thing. Or at the very least, not a bad thing. 1/?

2) Most shows tend to have some sort of romance going at any given time. In this case, since Red’s a busy guy that moves around a lot (and I can’t imagine any woman wanting to come in 2nd place to Liz), it has to be Liz getting “involved”. But, on a sexist note, I could also see the writers being wary of giving Liz more than two significant love interests (God forbid, right?). Which, if that’s the case, puts her with TK. For now. 2/3

And 3) If they want to keep Red and Liz from getting too close too soon, what would drive a deeper, more far-reaching wedge than TK? Someone who not only hates Red, but is hated /by/ Red?

I’m not going to lie, anon, the mystery of ‘Why the hell do they bother keeping TK around?’ will ultimately be the reason why I come back as a ghost.

As someone who has seen something similar in the ouat fandom, my main guess is that TK is the result of a writers room that is filled with men only. I just get the impression that they don’t even realize that they’re essentially writing an abusive relationship - or at least one that is founded on lies and violence and gaslighting and abusive, controlling behavior. To them, TK is a charming James Bond-esque character who - alongside Liz - forms half of a power couple that is sexy and violent and exciting.

I get that impression because so many of the things which TK has done on the show which are really, really problematic and downright disturbing, aren’t adressed at all. That’s what ultimately makes the Keen2 relationship shallow and paper-thin, that lack of depth and substance (although, to be fair, ever since season 1 they have a real problem with evoking emotional depth from the characters, it’s quickly drifting into soap opera stuff, going from irrational anger to shock value to distrust to no feelings at all about an incident that should probably be adressed at some point but who cares maybe the audience will conveniently forget about it all)

So, to sum it up: I think they didn’t want to get rid of TK back when they had the chance in season 1/2 because they became enarmored with the idea of this dark James Bond. But sadly, they’ve been using this character archetype completely wrong, dark and misunderstood and violent men don’t make good love interests - not if their negative character traits remain unadressed anyway.

#I keep hoping that they'll set him up as a villain after all #as the one who manipulated Liz's memory the second time around #but looking at it from a writer's point of view #I'd say that they have waited too long #another point to be made for TK is that he adds pacing to the show #if you want to have an action-filled side arc #you can't really use another member of the task force #but someone outside #it also adds tension with Red #which is nice I guess to have someone who doesn't play by his rules #but there'd have been so many other ways to achieve this #I'm totally agreeing with you on the romantic interest note though #it's too bad they pushed all of the possibilities into a corner #I remember back when I watched s1 for the first time #I kept asking myself 'I wonder which love interest direction they'll go into?'#because usually with shows like this #you have a will they won't they thing #I feel like by now they're just shoving Tom into our faces out of spite #'what? The Cherry On Top • Character Introductions • 01 | And so it begins • 02

With each cup of coffee Y/N placed in the cupholder, a low grumble accompanied the action. Each thunk of coffee that slid into each holder was a little more aggressive and heavy-handed than the task need be, but the air of irritation that emitted from the girl was undeniably strong, and the unfortunate barista that was tasked to make this foul-mood customer’s drinks handed her the last of her order before quickly slinking away.

“Stupid, stupid, stupid,” Y/N continued to grumble under her breath the entire frigid three blocks back to the campus of where her office was located.

“Stupid, stupid, stupid.” A scowl was evident on the girl’s face the entire elevator ride up the tall skyscraper until it dinged and stopped at the 70th floor. It wasn’t until the doors slid open that Y/N sucked in a shaky breath and plastered a Crest-worthy, Splenda-sweet smile on her face as she exited the lift and entered the bustling office.

“Coffee’s here!” Y/N sang out and placed the two cup holders down on top of the front office’s counter tabletop.

“Y/N’s back!”

A scurry of workers crowded around the 21-year-old girl as she animatedly read off orders off the top of her head and handed them out, one-by-one to its rightful owner.

“You’re the best, Y/N-chan!” A senpai from the tech editorial department ruffled her head, earning a small whimper of protest as she tried to sooth her hair. It wasn’t like she spent twenty-minutes this morning trying to tame her unruly mane for nothing.

“Isn’t Y/N the best? She’s always so good at remembering who gets what.” Another senpai from the lifestyle editorial department chimed in and took a sip from her latte.

“Oh no, no! I’m just doing my job.” Y/N let out a forced chuckle, but it went unnoticed as her coworkers slowly disappeared back to their corner of the office to get back to work.

"Alright, you can drop the act, you fake."

The instant Y/N heard a snort coming from behind, the fake smile that was plastered to her face immediately dropped as she whipped around to face a chestnut-haired male.

"I hate it here," Y/N groaned and leaned her upper body onto the countertop. She let out a huff of air and blew a stray piece of hair away from her eyes. "I can't wait to graduate from coffee intern to staff writer."

"You're meeting with the Chief later today, right?" Oikawa Tooru removed his hands from the pockets of his slacks and eyed the remaining drink leftover.

"Mmm, yeah." Y/N let out a distracted sigh as her thumbs flew across the keyboard of her smartphone for a quick text. With the click of a button, she locked her phone and shoved it into her pants pocket and gave her full attention to the older male. "Chief told me that she had good news for me, and judging by all the overtime work and random projects I picked up over the past few months --"

"You mean bitch work?" Oikawa interrupted, earning a glare from the girl.

"For your information, my 'bitch work' got published last week! And that's besides the point. All that matters is that Chief has noticed that I'm a responsible worker who is willing to go above and beyond my day-to-day tasks and now I'm definitely getting the promotion that's been long due!"

There was a smug grin on Y/N's face while Oikawa rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, you are a hard worker, Y/N-chan, but that doesn't mean you should be doing other people's tasks when it should be their job to do them in the first place."

"Can't you just be happy for me?" Y/N whined. "I didn't graduate from UTokyo with over $100k in student debt just to go on coffee runs. And I don't even get to have my own drink!"

Oikawa sighed and placed a hand on top of the shorter girl's head. "I am happy for you. And proud of you. I hope you get the staff writer position you wanted, and when you do get assigned to my department, I'll make sure to run you dead with ten articles simultaneously."

There was an evil, teasing glint in Oikawa's eyes which Y/N responded to by sticking out her tongue.

A ding! interrupted the teasing banter and Y/N checked her phone. She let out a quick squeal and a small hop.

"Gotta go! Ayame-san from tech has an article she wants me to write!"

Y/N waved goodbye and scurried away.

"Hey! I asked for a dirty Chai, not a mocha! What the fuck, Y/N?" Oikawa yelled after the retreating girl.

"Serves you right for making me do your coffee run too, Oinkawa!" Y/N's bubbly laughter echoed through the hallway as she skipped towards the tech editorial department.

Oikawa sighed and tugged at the front pieces of his hair. It was already nearing the end of the day, but he was still at least half an hour away from completing his remaining task for the day. He was currently in the middle of copy-editing an article one of his staff writers submitted earlier today when he felt his phone buzz in his pocket.

Oikawa removed his glasses and pulled out his phone, rubbing his tired eyes while unlocking his phone. It was a text from Y/N.

She must've finally talked to Chief, Oikawa thought. He swiped his thumb to unlock his phone and read the text.

Oikawa grimaced at Y/N’s text. It was obvious the meeting did not go the way Y/N had wanted it to. Sighing, Oikawa stood up and packed his things. Looks like the article was going to have to be pushed back a week; there was a more important meeting he had to attend to first.

Y/N glared at her phone and bounced her leg, a nervous tick that Oikawa absolutely hated whenever she did. Maybe if he was here right now, he would've had the opportunity to scold her. Except his train was running five minutes late. Y/N groaned as she watched another minute go by.

Where's Tooru?

How much longer was he going to make her sit in agony at their favorite bakery and tea shop?

Right when Y/N was about to hit send on her phone, the shop door jingled, and in waltzed Oikawa.

"Alright, alright, I'm here. What happened?" Oikawa was slightly breathless, having sped-walked from the station and down the block to meet up with Y/N. He rolled up his button-down sleeves and removed his work badge from around his neck.

"So I got the promotion," Y/N began to which Oikawa cut her off.

"Okay, congrats, but that's hardly an existential crisis."

"No! Let me finish!" Y/N stomped her foot once, irritation beginning to seep in. Oikawa rolled his eyes, completely immune to Y/N's temper flare ups. Instead of retorting, he opted to take a sip of her fruit tea. "I got the promotion, but it wasn't the promotion I wanted."

"Did you get placed in lifestyle with Iwa-chan? I heard that department's kind of a mess right now. Iwa-chan told me their lifestyle editor's too busy hooking up with Hanamaki's layout intern to even run the department --"

"Tooru, for kami's sake, I'm begging you to shut up." Y/N groaned and covered her face with her hands. "I'm TK Mag's new gossip blogger. Chief wants me to freaking exploit influencers under the alias of 'Cherry' for the new Cherry on Top blog."

“The new what now?”

[MF]The Further Adventures of Aydan & Weebs - 14. Trains PT 5!

“How do you figure?” it didn’t sound right to Aydan, and his history with My Buddy Kev had well taught him the nonsense of listening to anything the guy had to say.

“The junkies,” My Buddy Kev gave a great huff, “hoo, hoo, the junkies were all swole up.” My Buddy Kev opened his mouth and took big breaths through his clenched teeth that looked insanely bright next to the deep crimson hues of gores sliding down the man’s person.“ More chewing, another spit “Classic,” he said, shaking his head with crazy eyes looking into the past?

Weebs couldn’t not stare at the mouth of the plastic bottle as My Buddy Kev spit into, where a lipstick ring of human essence was forming. An audible “Ugh” did emit from his lips, but no one noticed with the sound of the blood soaked man’s ridiculous panting.

“KA-POW” My Buddy Kev, again, made Weebs flinch as, with the shout, a glistening business card was produced at the end of a hand thrust in Weebs’ face.

Adjusting his eyes, trying to read, which Weebs had little hope of reading, that’s how close it the card was being held to the end of his nose, “Whassthis?”

“My calling card,” My Buddy Kev said, but he was totally kidding and added “Just kidding, this is my card designating my membership in THE KISS army. You asked, so here it is. You can’t touch it though,” My Buddy Kev stated, but it was his policy.

“I don’t want to touch it, it looks wet.”

The card was gone by the time Weebs had finished speaking. Keistered. My Buddy Kev smiled, the very image of the devil him or herself “Oh Kay youse fucks, time to get gone, you’re gonna blow my cover.”

Weebs, lost and shaking his head, the final grains of his patience circling the great maw of the hourglass’ waist “Hey, guy, can you hang on one second for me…” Weebs would have said more, but the glistening went at him.

“Hup!” My Buddy Kev sprinted three steps at Weebs then stopped short of the pistol that Weebs had leveled at the man’s forehead.

“He’s your friend, Aydan, what’s my play here?” Weebs asked.

Aydan figured for a long moment, then shrugged “This point?” He shook his head “I don’t know, maybe it’s better for everybody.”

The eyes, “HEY! YOU A WARRRIOR WEEBS? I DON’T THINK YOU HAVE IT IN YOU!” The guy was so red, way too red.

Without blinking, banal “Ohh, pretty sure I do, mate.”

Aydan smiled then, seeing, in his two friends, these two big Labradors that just wanted to run around and play; just two pent up kids. He didn't intrude.

“RAD!” Then My Buddy Kev straightened and it appeared as though the storm had passed, at least for the time being. “K, now, you fucks need to go before the queen gets back. Put me back in the bag,” he ordered, holding the canvas sack towards Aydan and Weebs.

Weebs tucked the pistol away and helped to get the blood soaked ball of energy back in his packaging, while Aydan asked “Hey, you mind me asking you to explain the thinking here?”

“Civillians,” My Buddy Kev, you could hear the sound of his eyes rolling, and you could see him shaking his head where his forehead rubbed against the canvas of the sack. “The Queen will soon return to find her little army extinguished, which she may or may not be expecting.”

“I doubt that she would be expecting that.” Aydan offered, unprompted.

“Well, what she, for sure, won’t be expecting is me to still be here, which I will be, right where she left me. Which is the last place she would think, and this time, the rope won’t be tied. She’ll never see it coming, and she won’t expect a thing!” He was shouting and, from inside the canvas bag there came the sound of an enthusiastic clap. “WOO! Thanks for this guys, I owe you.”

Aydan and Weebs stood, not speaking then, just silently looking at the canvas bag there, with all these blood smears and crimson footprints around it leading back and to everywhere that My Buddy Kev had wandered on his soujourn. “You take care of yourself this time, ok, The Queen’s never gonna suspect a thing.” Then to Weebs, Aydan mimed ‘Let’s go.’

Weebs bent low to the bag, “It was nice meeting you,” he said gently, trying to be polite.

From inside the bag, “Ok.” My Buddy Kev just said, not annoyed, just said it in a blank tone.

Weebs, irked, just stood and walked, with Aydan, away from the bag.

Not until the following afternoon did The Queen come rolling back onto the platform of what had once been her inconspicuous if bizarre utopia. Eighteen hours strapped in the front of that train had done The Queen’s back no favors and she hadn’t slept, she was hungry, had to piss, and? The old woman froze in her survey of the scene of the tragedy. The canvas bag, still there? Slowly, she rolled in the direction of her curiousity.

A taut canvas shell around him, My Buddy Kev tried so hard not to laugh; he failed just a little.

The Queen saw the canvas bag ‘giggle’ as she closed in on it. She didn’t know what to make of it all.

Inside the bag, My Buddy Kev’s eyes looked back and forth, his mouth open wide to aid in his stealth breathing; he would wait for her first few tugs before he struck. A spider waiting for the fly.

The old crone narrowed her eyes, halting near the bag, scanning in all directions.

My Buddy Kev heard the sound of the chair creaking, closing in, heard the wheels sliding on their bearings, but he waited, waited, waited for the hag to tug on the bag. He heard the click of the break on the wheels of the chair.

The Queen exhaled as she squeezed, she had the touch of an artisan too.

Blink, you’ll miss it.

From across the tracks, The Queen, stopped short of the bag, withdrew a secreted sawed off shot gun from beneath the seat of her chair then leveled and fired the weapon. A flash and a magician’s puff of smoke later the canvas bag was a good eight feet further down the platform. A thick trail of burnt hemoglobin marking the path.

The blast of the shotgun, the sound of that retort, blended effortlessly into the screams of a voice thrown, in agony, into octaves higher than normal. Not knowing how the man had oriented himself in the bag, but hoping against hope to shear head from his body; The Queen had fired at a bulge that seem 'head shaped'.

But it hadn’t been true, The Queen had read things back-asswards.

The force of the blow had torn the bag, and its’ occupant to pieces as it had carried it away down the platform. My Buddy Kev, survived the devastating blow but lost all but deli meat of his lower body. He tried to escape The Queen for a bit, but it was difficult for him to really get anywhere; My Buddy Kev just sort of crawled in a direction opposite the sensation of pain and wound up pawing the inside of the top of the canvas sack. For eight and a half long minutes, The Queen just sat and listened to the high pitched gargle filled moanings of a man just criminally guilty of never thinking things through.

It was a while later, the two of them just wandering through the country side; they’d long ago strayed from the traintracks and it came to Weebs all of a sudden to say “I think that might actually be the last we see of that wicked ole queen. You?”

Aydan squinted, half looked up at the sun as he thought about what his friend had just said, “No. No, I can almost guarantee that we have interest running on a real shitstorm coming down the pike, Weebs.”

Weebs just nodded, it made a certain kind of sense when Aydan said it that way. “Yeah, maybe.”

The pair walked for awhile longer before Aydan cracked in on the quiet that had built up while the two had been going along “Weebs, I have a bit of an offer for you.”

“I’m listening.”

“Well, the thing is, I needed My Buddy Kev for a job.” Aydan was hesitant, wasn’t sure how his old friend would take to the idea. "I just think I might have found a better person for the part."

“Out with it, man!”

Aydan stopped walking, “Weebs, my friend, I think that you and I should go into the bootlegging business together. How do you feel about something like that?”

Weebs looked up, like he was thinking. He wasn't.

In the moment the question was asked, it was answered; one out-thrust hand met another in a perfect moment and a perfect deal.

The little maestro taps the conductors podium, tk tk tk, bows, then turns and walks off.

When and why did you begin writing?

Almost five years ago, unhappy and craving something different than my boring, mundane day job and not seeing myself working at my day job for another thirty plus years and being any happier, I literally screamed in my kitchen for something more. I shouted that I wanted something to fuel the passion dying inside of me from my daily routine work that paid the bills but had become so startlingly unfulfilling to me.

Shortly after this happened, I started getting ideas popping into my head at odd hours and inconvenient moments. I found myself jotting down scenes that entertained me right after my workouts, interrupting my showers to run and grab a notebook, pulling my car off to the side of the road, while roaming aisles in supermarkets, and waking up from sleeping to write something down that just came to me.

I started creating books from these visions in 2013, writing two of them and eventually publishing my first book later in 2014.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?

This is a very good question and a hard one to answer. I’m actually not sure when I considered myself a writer. You see, I always felt writing was a hobby because one never really made any money doing it. So I never really thought about having a career as a writer and when it was suggested to me, I actually laughed at the idea. However, I probably considered myself a writer when I saw my first book in print. It’s really hard to deny facts when you are holding a book that you wrote purely from your own imagination in your hands. When I held Nightfall in my hands there were tears in my eyes and the widest smile of joy on my lips.

Why did you choose to write in your particular field or genre?

My author bio states “I have always had an interest in the strange and unusual- things that go bump in the night have always fascinated me.”

It’s true. My childhood was filled with episodes of Twilight Zone, Amazing stories, Night gallery and treasured moments of watching Sci-fi movies with my dad. I have always been pretty open about other worlds and different beings and I have had some very interesting, unexplainable experiences that have colored my world and entertained me. I have been told, several times, that I am intuitive and I have had experiences that others have told me would scare them but, in reality, they don’t frighten me- they are just a part of what is, though unseen to our human eyes.

I believe a good author writes what they know and that’s why I chose paranormal as a subject matter. The fact that I, personally, love romantic movies and romantic comedies- the Hallmark Channel being one of my favorites- just seemed natural for me to write in the romance genre. Pairing my two loves has been the most amazing experience for me.

Are you a full-time or part-time writer and how does that affect your writing?

Unfortunately, I am only a part-time writer as my full-time day job financially supports my writing. Since I can only write part-time and, for the most part, I write novels vs. novellas, I can’t push out stories as fast as a full-time writer can. I also do my own marketing and advertisement (which takes up the small amount of writing time available to me).

I am quite busy during the day working and taking care of all the arrangements my dad needs (he resides full-time in a nursing home and currently has cancer) and at night, when I have the energy and feel up to, I will write some in between taking care of my own family including my sweet dog- a rescued American Foxhound.

What have you written so far?

I finished my first series called The Guardian League. There are five books in the Guardian League and each one features a Guardian Angel who is a voluntary member of the sub-set organization called the Guardian League.

I also have one Wolf Shifter book called Nightfall published and two anthologies written by me: Angels and Diamonds and Shifter Shorts.

My ninth book, another wolf shifter PNR, is with my publisher waiting to be reviewed and I am in between writing my tenth and eleventh book which are both Angel romances.

All of my books are standalone and can be read in any order, including the five books in the Guardian League. I did this on purpose as I wanted my readers to have a choice in which book they wanted to read, first. ** Read the one that calls out to your heart. And enjoy!**

Do you work to an outline or plot sketch, or do you prefer to let a general idea guide your writing?

I’m actually a pantser though I have used a few outlines in the past. The funny part is, I may outline a book but then forget all about the outline and “go with my gut” as to which scene goes where. I tend to write scenes and then piece them all together afterward knowing where each one is in the book and adding stuff in between so it flows well. With every book I start, I have a general idea as to the theme of the book and then I just go from there. It’s much more fun for me this way and it’s truly amazing to see the book come together as I am writing it.

How do you feel about indie/alternative vs. conventional publishing?

I think it’s great to have both options for writers so they can choose which one is best for them. I have books published in both options. As an indie writer, things can get pretty expensive so if you don’t have a lot of money, going the route of traditional publishing can be a really great choice to get your work out there without sacrificing much. Of course, if you indie publish, you control just about everything and there is a lot of freedom and flexibility with that choice.

Most traditional/conventional publishers do not like books of short stories, so my two anthologies were indie published and I’ve enjoyed the freedom of being able to dictate my own book cover, choose when I wanted to publish the book and ordering paperback copies that are much less than buying them from a conventional publisher.

Did you make any marketing mistakes that you would avoid in the future?

In my first or second year of being published, I decided to go with a book tour and paid a company that specifically did tours for paranormal books. This one touted that they worked with some very well-known authors in the field and, me, wanting to get exposure for my own work excitedly contracted with them. What a disappointment when fifty percent of their bloggers fell through with what they were supposed to do for me, yet the rate I paid was never discounted. I learned quickly not to use them ever again. Now, I try to look up reviews but mostly I will go by word of mouth from authors who are friends of mine to see who they have used and recommend.

What was the hardest thing about writing your latest book?

Coming up with different types of shapeshifters. Haha. Yes, I know. That doesn’t sound like a problem. But I actually ran out of ideas for types of shifters before I finished the book.

I wanted to have unusual shapeshifters as well as some of the more traditional ones you find in paranormal books. Once I had the types of shifters in my mind for each story, then it was just a matter of coming up with a plotline and writing the story.

The shapeshifters in the book Shifter Shorts are a: cougar, gargoyle, hellhound, hybrid (two species), wolf, and a shark.

What did you enjoy most about writing this book?

The unique shifters and writing their stories. Two of my stories went a little dark and I actually cringed while writing several scenes in them but it was good for me to expand my writing skills and venture into other areas I don’t normally go into. Venturing into topics that can be a bit disturbing does not come easily to me but it was needed for the storyline which took a different turn than I thought it would. Most publishers want a HEA and one of my stories did not have one but the story continues with the next character and the original characters are redeemed. It was really fun doing that with this book and it was a different way of telling a story than in any of my previous books.

So I stated a couple of days ago that I was sent several questions in my DM, and I would work on getting responses to them. Well here is that post. This may end up being a long post. Please bare with me and keep in mind, that the answers to some of these questions are strictly my thoughts and opinions. Let’s get started.

Yes most content and blog related posts will be Jikook. I will probably still share OT7 videos or pictures, but mainly Jikook or Kookmin, whichever you prefer to go by.

5. Who is your bias and why?

Jimin. At first he stood out to me because of his dancing watching the MV’s, when I originally started following and learning about BTS. As a person with a dance background, I always noticed that about him first. He is such a powerful performer. As i continued to learn more about him through the eyes of the members and himself, I just fell in love with what he seemed to be as a person. Beyond him being a talented singer and dancer, he just appeared to be a genuinely nice guy. He was always smiling and laughing with the members and being very supportive of everything they did. You don’t find many people who are as nice as JM seemed, but the members have all talked about how JM is one of the nicest people to everyone, and that he is the member they can lean on the most when things get hard and how he is such a great listener. This is just a little bit of why I love him as my bias.

6. Who is your bias wrecker and why?

Jungkook. I pretty much noticed him the same way I started with JM with the dancing and performance and then his voice stood out of course. As I started following them more, started to feel like JK is a little like me. I can appear cold to be people at first, because I can be quite shy initially getting to know you and I can have a hard time opening up. But in my own time, I slowly drop my walls to let people into my world, and they find that i can be the sweetest person in the world. I felt that JK was a lot like that. He finds it hard to let you in, but once he does, he goes all in.

7. What made you start shipping Jikook?

Let me first say that I don’t ship them, I support them, as I believe they are in a romantic relationship with each other. GCF Tokyo is what made me start supporting them. As I mentioned in my “New Kookmin Blogger” post, I was introduced to shipping first through Taekook. I watched quite a few videos of them, but I honestly never saw anything romantic or sexual in nature with their interaction as the analysis videos always tried to imply. I was being told by TK shippers that I should stick with this ship and that JK actually hates JM.

So one day, the GCF Tokyo video popped up in my YouTube recommendations to watch, so I clicked on it and watched. By the end of the video, i was sitting there looking with big wide eyes at what i just watched, slightly misty eyed and smiling ear to ear all at the same time. I thought to myself at that point, who in the world makes a video like that for someone they supposedly hate? I know I wouldn’t do it. Then I found out that JK actually PLANNED and PAID for trip as an actual birthday gift for JM. At that moment I was like, this is NOT how you treat someone you hate. So I started searching for Jikook content and it lead me to seeing several things that I hadn’t seen from the other ship videos that I had been shown.

The subtle looks between the two: I know that all the members have looked at each other before, however, there was certainly a different vibe I felt when JK looked at JM and vice versa. For JM, there always seemed to be a fondness in his eye for JK, like he just wanted to wrap him in arms and give JK all the hugs, cuddles, and kisses he could muster. For JK, his eyes literally light up when looking at JM, whether he’s intently listening to JM talk during ending ments at concerts or just generally being silly, JK seems to melt into a puddle of love goo. LOL! They both smile and laugh at anything the other does, even when it’s not a moment they should. Their eyes are always searching for the other. It doesn’t matter if they are sitting side by side or far apart from each other, it’s almost as if they crave looking at each other like it brings them peace or calmness.

Both JK and JM’s submission/softness for each other: I’m not talking in a physical/sexual sense. The members have all stated how both JM and JK can be stubborn and strong willed. JK himself has stated, that he could be very selfish. What’s mine is mine and what’s yours in mine. They are both extremely competitive by nature, but when it comes to each other, they both seem to toss all of that out of the door and flush it down a drain somewhere, because JK will do just about anything that JM ask of him without much fuss, compared to what we see sometimes with the other members. In addition, JM may be older, but he willingly relinquishes some control over to JK as well by expressing how much he feels protected by JK, which I think allows JK to not feel like the “baby” in the relationship. We all know JM is quite capable of protecting himself, but by showing that vulnerable side to JK, it allows some of JK’s natural protectiveness to shine. JK and JM can be quite loud and boisterous when talking to the other member, they both get this quiet softness in their tone of voice when they are speaking to each other, like they don’t want anyone else to invade the conversation meant for just them.

How the members react to the Jikook: They always seem to be monitoring what they will do or say around each other. They seem paranoid sometimes or literally end up just separating them by giving a look, or a tap on the shoulder, etc. for them to not cross some imaginary line we can’t see. The members facial reactions during interviews and concerts. They literally have the “please don’t say that” or “here we go again” faces. It’s also how the members defer to JM or JK when it comes to the other. For instance Burn the Stage when JK was on the verge of exhaustion and JM was the only who stayed in the room with medical staff or recently from the behind scenes Paris DVD, it was JM yet again with JK getting his stitches removed by medical staff. Of course, this doesn’t mean the other members don’t care, because we know they do. It just appears to me that members seem to naturally let JM and JK take care of each other in these types of moments.

Talking about one another in interviews: I always find it interesting they always seem to bring the other up during an interview. Always talking about the infamous GCF Tokyo trip, or answering questions with each other’s names. They never seem to be far from the other’s mind which i love seeing. In the recent Japanese interview, it was asked, “What’s the moment you feel connected to a member”, and JK literally said, “When my eyes naturally connect with JM’s” he feels connected, like WTF? JM saying in an interview once, how he tends to hold everything internally, but that if it wasn’t for JK noticing this and always coming to do something to make him laugh, he would just hold it until he probably explodes.

Whole host of other reasons that I won’t discuss in this post because this is already hella long and i haven’t gotten through all the questions.

7. Do you hate Taekook?

No. I hate toxic TK shippers. I hate those shippers who like to make JM the evil person who is supposedly coming in between Tae and JK, or when they make JK the vile person who is always hurting Tae trying to make him jealous by hanging out with JM, which then leaves Tae as this sad person who’s miserable all the time. These boys all love each other. I also dislike toxic Jikook shippers as well. Like I’ve said before, you can feel free to ship who you want to ship, but you don’t have the right to spew hatred to other members in support of it.

8. Why don’t you believe Taekook is real? They have touchy moments, plus a lot of off cam content.

I think Tae and JK are close friends. I don’t see any romantic attraction or feelings between the two. All the boys are touchy with each other, especially Tae in my opinion. He appears to be someone who shows affection to whoever is near him. He’s an affectionate guy which we love. The off cam thing I truly don’t understand because ANY moment we get to see of the boys is literally on cam. If it’s off cam how do you know what the boys do in their spare time, unless they post it or tell us themselves later on. The only off cam stuff we get is when they are caught out in public by fans, like the Jikook “dates”, when they hung out in L.A, Paris, went ice skating, dinner, etc. those are considered off cam moments.

9. Why does BH hide Taekook with Jikook?

I REALLY DON’T UNDERSTAND this line of thinking. So BH is hiding one gay relationship with another gay relationship? That’s not hiding anything, because there are still two people being exposed with JK as the common denominator between the two ships. So JK and JM expose themselves as the gay couple to hide Tae and JK’s gay relationship. Somebody please make this make sense. So in my opinion NO, BH isnt’ pursuing some Jikook agenda to hide TK contrary to what most TK shippers would like to believe. If JK and JM are together all the time, it is because they CHOOSE to be with each other. End of story!

“Offers, If Any.” What Does That Mean?

Are you familiar with this phrase on MLS listings?

“Offers, If Any.”

Just as the “48 Hours Irrevocable” phrase was big in the 2017 Fall market, I think the old “Offers, If Any” is going to be huge this spring.

Let’s take a look at what it means, what it’s meant in the past, and how much confusion it can cause…

There are two things that today’s blog will not be:

1) About mortgages 2) Over 3,000 words

It’s funny – when I first started this blog back in 2007, the people helping me with it told me, “Blogs should be about 200-300 words,” and also added, “It’s something you should really try to update at least once per week.”

My first blog post ever was 449 words, including the intro.

The body of the post itself was five paragraphs.

Call me crazy, but that’s not enough to explore ANY topic on the planet.

And while I know that brevity isn’t my strong suit, I also find many articles out there today to be lacking.

Even in the major newspapers, I find myself scrolling down, and thinking, “That’s it?” The articles never really seem to do the headlines justice.

In any event, the year-end 2017 blog posts, 2018 predictions, and hot topics regarding mortgage and debt seemed to really get my fingers flaming, but from now on, we’re back to the norm.

The 2018 market hasn’t really “started” yet, per se.

It’s taking time to develop; a lot more than it did last year!

To have a market, you need interactions between buyers and sellers, and you need sales.

So far, we have minimal new listings. And I said “new,” FYI. Yes, there are a slew of active listings, but of the 1,714 freehold properties listed for sale, only 325 of them, or 19%, were listed in 2018.

A handful of properties have sold, and I’ve seen the first “bidding war” erupt with 16 offers on a west-end condo last week, but there still aren’t nearly enough sales to come to any conclusions about how the market is starting.

In 2017, it was somewhere around the third week of January when I turned to a colleague and said, “Something is really strange with this market.” All the sub-$1M freeholds were selling with bully offers, and the market had this unreal upward momentum.

In 2018 thus far, I can’t even give you an opinion on where we are in this market, and I think I’ll need a full month of data, and experience, to (TK)

So that brings me to this concept of “Offers, If Any.”

Let me show you what I mean:

It’s simple enough, right?

It’s like saying, “If we have any offers, we’ll review them at this time, at this place, and we ask that if you register an offer, you do so by 5pm.”

Unless I were making this into its own blog post, you’d simply read the above, and wouldn’t think anything of it.

But the presence of those two words, “if any” after the word “offers,” can be a game-changer in this market. It’s strategic in nature, and it can make everything abundantly clear, or completely muddy the waters.

The phrase “Offers, If Any” has been on MLS listings for years, but before this year, it was didn’t really mean what it suggested.

The idea that there would not be offers, ie. the presence of “if any,” was so far-fetched in previous years, that the presence of “if any” was basically the listing agent rubbing it in your face.

Take a $900,000 property, that’s listed at $699,900 in February of 2017, which ultimately gets 28 offers and sells for $988,500.

“Offers, If Any,” the MLS listing reads.

And you’re thinking, “Oh, yeah, sure! If any, right? As though you won’t get offers?”

You used to see that on the listing, and you’d think the agent was being condescending.

This year, however, the words “if any” have meaning.

We’re only two weeks into the year, but I don’t think we’re going to see the same spring market we saw in 2017, or anywhere close to it.

As a result, the “under-listing” strategy (if you can call it a strategy), will be far from automatic.

The “real estate kiss of death,” as I have always referred to it, is listing your property for $999,000 with a hold-back on offers, not selling, and then re-listing the next day at $1,200,000.

I have done that exactly once in my fourteen years.

I wrote several blogs about “listing and re-listing” in the spring of 2017. You can read one from May HERE.

But the 2017 listing-and-re-listing was because the market changed overnight in April, and through May, sellers had yet to adjust – both to the new listing strategies, as well as the decrease in price.

In 2018, listing and re-listing is going to be a killer.

And thus it’s up to the seller, and the listing agent, to assess risk tolerance, and enact a strategy.

Let’s say you have a house that is worth $900,000.

There are three listing strategies that you can enact in 2018, as I see it:

1) List at $899,900, offers any time.

2) List at $899,900, hold back offers.

3) List at $799,900, hold back offers.

And each of those listing strategies could have its own subset of strategies.

Take #1 for example:

1a) List at $899,900, offers any time, with 24 hour irrevocable (or 48 hours, if you want). We call this the “soft holdback,” and it was prevalent in the Fall of 2017.

1b) List at $899,900, offers really, truly, any time.

1c) List at $919,900, thus over-pricing as the house is “worth” $900,000, but you want to know for certain that you’re not leaving money on the table.

As far as #3 goes, it’s risky!

If you don’t get the response you need in order to push the $799,900 list price up over the $900,000 value of the home, then you have no choice but to re-list higher, and incur the “real estate kiss of death.”

If the market is truly balanced this spring, then a lot of buyers will feel as though they don’t need to “play the games,” and the seller who under-lists, terminates, and then re-lists, risks offending the buyer pool.

To get that $900,000 offer, based on a $799,900 list price, you might have only needed two offers in some years, or at the very least, three. But what will it take in the spring of 2018? Four offers? Five? Time will tell.

As far as #2 goes, this is where the 2018 market will be interesting.

I know this sounds crazy (I’m being facetious…) but maybe, just maybe, listing at fair market value will become a “thing” in 2018.

It’s almost a chicken-and-egg situation.

What are you deciding on first when listing: whether or not to hold back offers, or the price?

Do you start with, “We’re going to hold back offers, now do we list at $899,900, or $799,900?”

Or do you start with, “We’re going to list at $899,900, no do we hold back offers?”

As I said, this is where the 2018 market will be interesting.

And it’s where those words “If Any” come into play.

The agent and seller who want to list at fair market value, but still want to try holding-back offers “just in case,” will write on the listing, “Offers, If Any.”

They want to signal to the market that they’re not under-priced for competition, and they don’t want to scare buyers away.

They want to ensure that buyers know this isn’t the spring of 2017, and houses won’t sell for 150% of the list price – especially this one!

So the “If Any” is really saying what it means. “We’re priced at $899,900, which we think is reasonable. And if we get any offers, we’ll review them at this date.”

How else can you convey that to the buyer pool?

I mentioned something above about “muddy waters,” and if you’re with me on this blog so far, you already know where this is going.

The listing for that $900,000 house, with a $799,000 list price, might say, “Offers Reviewed Monday January 15th at 7:30pm.”

But it might also read “Offers, If Any, Reviewed Monday January 15th at 7:30pm.”

So what I’m getting at is, there’s nothing to stop a listing agent from trying to trick the buyer pool, once they think they’ve got it all figured out, into thinking a property is fairly-priced, when it’s not.

What else is new?

As it always has been, it’s up to the buyer to do their homework, use comparable sales, and determine what they think fair market value is.

It’s too bad, because right when you think there’s some clarity in the market, you realize, there isn’t.

Personally, I think we’re going to see a lot more properties this spring listed at fair market value, rather than being stupidly under-listed like they were last year. I just don’t think sellers will have the risk tolerance, and if they’re smart, they’ll think about this before listing, rather than acting surprised – and hard-done-by, when the strategy fails.

I think listing at fair market value is the way to go, or even slightly above fair market value, in lieu of holding-back offers.

It’s a decent strategy, when you think about it.

Real estate has no fixed value, and it’s not like a share of stock, where millions of the identical item trade every day, with values traced to the very penny.

So if you think you’ve got a $900,000 house, maybe you price at $924,900, and with “Offers Any Time,” the first few buyers that walk through the house and love it, decide to act right away, and come in at or near the list price, rather than risk losing out.

I would absolutely choose that strategy over listing at $699,900, and hoping I get 10-12 offers and $200,000+ over the list price.

So having said all this, what do you think: is it going to be tougher this spring to be a buyer, or a seller?

As many readers have pointed out, last spring, you could list a beat-up RV for sale and you’d get multiple offers.

So will it be harder for sellers to analyze, implement, and follow the right listing strategy? Or will it be harder for buyers to cut through the pricing games and listing inconsistencies, which are designed to be easier than in 2017, but might end up being harder?

It’s too early to tell, but we’re getting there, every-so-slowly…
