My first thought was imagining Pep in 'Sopping Wet Creature' form being in either Porto or Bello's arms, but it's more likely him having a panic attack and both of them helping him get home.

Wait, what do you mean new scars? And hmmm, clones don't really have blood (at least not like regular blood), but given what we currently know (or at least theorize) about Pep, perhaps he was the only one that could've helped Mirtillo.

(On a related note: Mirtillo being purple and considered to be Pep's baby. And a certain picture with a baby wearing purple. I'm not saying they're the same, just that maybe there's some subconscious connections here. Maybe the loss hits harder because he has lost his child before. It's twice now that he was taken away from his family.)

Also the dramatic irony of having an idea of what exactly happened to his family hurts! And every single one of Pep's links being one-sided thoughts! I'm over here making myself sadder theorizing that the last parts of each one are the exact thoughts he had while searching for them! That even though he was able to see the world outside the tower, he couldn't fully enjoy that freedom because in the back of his mind he's thinking that he failed them, that he was too weak and couldn't protect them–

He hopes that maybe, just maybe, he could find them. To be able to hug them again, hold them all in his arms and never let go. He would never ever lose them again.

First point about [Porto] and [Bello] rescuing Pep I actually hope to touch on soon! Well, 'soon' as in 'within the next few story posts' - when they will actually be up is yet to be determined jfgksgd - but you're not too far off hehe

Second point about Pep getting a new scar - this is a little confusing since I don't draw scars in my cartoony style (for some reason that I do not remember) - unless it's like [Halloumi's] missing eye scar, which is just a big 'X' - but a lot of the characters do have visible scarring!

We just gotta hit them with the unsilly beam, like this;

And there they are! Although Pep's 'scars' are just markings to mimic Peppino's scars - except for one - while clones do not typically scar due to their healing/regeneration factor, it is possible

[Mirtillo] and [the baby in that 'certain' picture] both being purple babies might be intentional, or it might be bc I have a bias for purple, I'll never tell - but I do confirm they are not the same being, since Mirtillo has been depicted as a newborn clone (the 'gummy bear' stage) and clones made out of human cadavers do not have this stage

And yes!!! Pep doesn't know what happened to any of them, and he misses them all so much!!!

But they just might be closer than he thinks...

Barn Anon. In my defence, it's not yet Feb. I promise I have a happier one after this one. Wanted to explore the Warp fuckery or rather those that are "immune" to it. :)

You wanted to scream, want to grab your aunt and yell at her that she's crazy. That... thing that she's brought to the family reunion... It doesn't belong here! It's not even human, nor is it a pet like a dog or a cat. Why is everyone so calm? why is everyone smiling? Don't they see how it's armed to the teeth? Don't they see that chainsaw sword thing that it carries around with it? Doesn't anyone notice how it's sharp edges have some dried bloodstains?

You politely excuse yourself and rush out of the house to stand at the back porch. Deep breaths. In. Out. You look out at the single tree that grows at the back, the stars that dot the sky. You manage to come back down from the emotions that threatened to overwhelm you. Laughter creeps out from the house, you see that…thing acting all shy and bashful and you feel like throwing up. Does no one else see that thing for the danger it is? The majority of the world seems to be the same regardless of location or culture. You've seen the pictures and videos of people around the globe with their Space Marines and how everyone else would comment how they wish they had a Space Marine of their own. Just last week your friend was excitedly showing you a video of a guy and his Space Marine summitting some mountain together, with the guy excitedly hugging his Space Marine.

The only comfort you have is that you aren't alone. There's others that see the true danger of these Space Marines. It's a small minority and there are few spaces online that you can talk about it. This small community has a theory that Space Marines must have some form of mind control or that they plan to overthrow humanity. It didn't matter to you if you agreed to those theories, you're just relieved to find others that understand. You know you can't tell your parents, oh god no. They'll think you're crazy or worse, some sort of conspiracy theorist or extremist. You're not crazy! I-It's them that's insane, they're the ones that need help.

You open the chatroom start typing away, venting to like-minded sane individuals. You know you're right. Your family is in danger, they just can't see it yet but you can save them. They'll thank you in the end. You'll find a way to get rid of that Space Marine, somehow.

Thank you for feeding into my weird idea about how it is just a bit of warp fuckery cuz lets be honest no one would just do what the husbandry tag does unless it's some sort of warp fuckery.

Besides I'm always a lover of the Eldritch (Also you cannot tell me as a Catholic that biblically accurate angels aren't some sort of eldritch abominations straight out of Lovecraft just with more fire and feathers motif vs oceanic) and to imply something is just wrong under the surface is my jam

How can people not see that these things aren't normal?!

You do your research finding old and you mean old newspapers from the 20's and there is nothing about Astartes at all. Up until the 40's where suddenly there are pictures of them... some of them being seen in old war videos.

Some theorize that that Nazi Occultism brought them here but they are all beyond our petty conflicts as seen with the futile attempt there was to bring them into the Korean war. They only cared about their "companions". There use to be so much more uproar in papers about them but once the baby boomers were born that's suddenly when everyone was okay with them. Only the people in the Silent Generation and the GI generation were complaining about the Astartes and then suddenly their children or grandchildren were okay with them.

You continue to read as the generations went on... Gen X and Millennials saw the least amount of pushback... Millennials it was considered weird to have the opinion you have now. You run your fingers through your hair looking at the newspaper articles as you now realize that Gen z and Gen Alpha will only grow up with "positive" connotations.

Gone were the idea that only Loyalist astartes were safe to own and then it moved to include renegades and unaligned. You shudder at the thought of your cousin with a Khornite living with them. They're going to die you've tried to warn them but you worry their Astarte might know what's up... they are so much smarter. You pale seeing an old guide about a Blood Angel going into a rage... you shutter at the article.

Your parents are talking about getting one but you managed to convince them that they can get one once you move out. You read the chat and how someone's posted about how a kid was recently abducted by one... or another about how some Gen Alpha kids can even speak their language... and then the theory about bonding that seems to come up when the kids explain their space marine... oh great a wild idea that you get chosen and have no choice in the matter.

You look behind you as you make your way home late trying to desperately avoid the dark alleyways and crossing the road when you see people walking with their Astartes. You've already found out nice communities that don't allow Astartes to live there so you can get away from the madness.

This Tuesday, we have a very special guest today! You may remember her for her many roles in as both harem leads and magical girl protagonists! Say hello to Myth Anon, the Former Ultimate Voice Actress!

BACKSTORY AND TALENT

As a child, Myth didn’t really have many friends or confidence in herself, but she yearned to become an actress. Because of her lack of faith in her acting skills, she worked backstage as a stagehand and audio technician, which she proves to still be competent at, even in the present day. One day in middle school, Myth’s parents decided to sign her up for voice acting. Despite her lack of confidence, she blew people away with her performance, and managed to secure the role of the little sister of the protagonist in Branching Paths, one of the most successful harem animes of the year. It managed to do wonders to her confidence, and eventually Myth managed to audition for and secure more and more major works, eventually making a name for herself and her colleagues as the “Harem Queen”, because if the harem lead is a female, you can guarantee that Myth will voice act in it. She is also famous amongst her fanbase for her behind-the-scenes antics, with her fellow seiyuu. (Note: You’ve got to watch videos of seiyuus, for they are comic gold!)

RELATIONSHIPS

Wyre Anon, Former Ultimate Surgeon

Wyre was one of Myth’s few friends from her childhood, and they always hung out together. But upon showing great prowess with her medical skills, Wyre was forced to attend medical school, and leaving poor Myth behind. Despite missing Wyre severely, Myth had to remain strong and positive, for it’s what Wyre would have wanted. Needless to say, Wyre was impressed when the two reunited in Hope’s Peak, and saw that their shy wallflower of a friend sprouted into a more confident person. Now that they’ve reunited in high school, they both try their best to catch up on old times, despite the totally different talent domains.

Outfit: Hair tied into small pigtails and a green surgery cap on top, intact glasses, green face mask, blood-covered green surgery scrubs and blue gloves and shoes.

Anon Scar, Ultimate Astronomer

When Myth first met Scar, she was amazed to find a real life chuunibyou, for she has seen many chuunibyous in the animes that she voice acts for. Claiming to have control and infinite knowledge of the cosmos as the “Cosmo Master”, Scar‘s eccentric attitude and elaborate, grandiose vocabulary belies a concerned mother figure for the group, constantly handing the younger Anons nourishment and reminding the Anons to go to bed. Because of Myth‘s childish and clumsy nature, Scar always breaks her facade when around Myth. Myth really loves to stargaze with Scar, and Scar gladly obliges in educating Myth about them.

Outfit: Hair with two pointy buns that make her hair resemble a star, a blue hoodie with yellow stripes on the sleeves and stars decorating the fluff on the hood, a dark blue scarf decorated with a star badge in the centre, a galaxy colored t-shirt underneath her hoodie, a yellow skirt with the same fluff her hoodie has, dark blue boots with yellow soles that have a star design on the bottom.

Fusion Anon, Ultimate Romantic

Despite Fusion’s odd and feminine fashion sense, Fusion’s school regards him as a fountain of romantic advice and a sort of father figure, viewing the people who seek his advice as his children, and being very proud of them when the gain the confidence to confess to their crushes. Fusion is a fanatic for all things romance, and that extends to romantic anime. Upon finding out that the seiyuu that starred in some of his favorite anime is going to be chaperoning him on his Kibo-Con trip, Fusion was on cloud nine. Myth is amazed at just how much knowledge Fusion has about the anime she starred in, even more than her. Outfit: An ahoge shaped like a heart, a long red scarf with white hearts on it, a pink sweater with a darker pink heart on the front, darker pink mittens, glasses, pants and shoes from original design.

Fusion Anon II, Ultimate Orithinologist

Hardly seen without her pet owl, O’Rly, Fusion II is sassy, sarcastic, and regularly tries to be cool, but to no avail. Fusion II has an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of birds, has mastered the art of laying motionless in one place, from years of birdwatching, and despite claims to the contrary, is a massive nerd when it comes to nature. As it turns out, Fusion II is perfect at imitating bird calls, and regularly tries to teach Myth how to make bird calls to attract birds. Myth has eventually mastered the art, and basically became a real-life Disney princess. Fusion II is honestly really proud of her work.

Outfit: Undershirt from the original design, a grey sleeveless parka, a necklace that holds a hawk’s talon, a brown glove on her left hand that allows her to hold O’Rly, cargo pants that patch her parka, brown steel-toed boots, sunglasses from original design.

Just Anon, Ultimate Conspiracy Theorist

Janon practically lives his whole life in an iron-padded apocalypse bunker, fully stocked with food and other needs. Janon regularly uses the excuse of the inevitable end of the world to get out of doing anything, apart from prepping for the apocalypse, and managed to form other procrastinators out of his followers thanks to his surprisingly believable conspiracy theories. Because of their opposite temperaments, both of the Anons didn’t exactly get along very well. That is, until Myth found out about Janon’s secret soft spot for children, despite his vehement denial. But at least Myth managed to find a common point.

Outfit: A tinfoil hat on his head shaped into bunny ears, a camo-hoodie, formal wear and facemask from original design.

Sparkle Anon, Former Ultimate Ice Skater

Famous for her speed and grace on the ice, and her dramatic and powerful performances on the ice, Sparkle mainly specialises in musicals on ice. She is also a master at speed-skating and won a bunch of trophies for her performances. Just like Fusion, Sparkle is a massive fan of the anime that Myth voice acts in, and was ultra happy that Myth is a fellow chaperone. Myth always wanted to learn how to ice skate, and Sparkle was all to happy to teach her heroine in entertainment all about the art of ice skating. Myth isn’t the best at skating, regularly slipping and falling, but Sparkle would never dare yell at her idol, so the lessons still continue.

Outfit: A blue leotard with a sparkly transparent skirt that has snowflakes on it, white gloves, a long blue cape with silver shoulder pads and a large snowflake on the back, sparkly white boots, glasses from original design.

Egg Anon, Former Ultimate Puzzle Solver, and Wet Sock Anon, Former Ultimate Poet

Even though most people hardly read poetry these days, Wet Sock is still famous for their dark and grim poetry. On the other side, Egg is famous for solving puzzles at record speed, and won many records. Despite both of the Anons being famed for their intellect, they love to regularly creep people out with their cursed comments and chaotic behavior. Wet Sock would never admit it, (especially not to Egg) but Myth’s vocal performances just make them swoon. But if Myth ever catches them swooning, Wet Sock would threaten the security of Myth’s kneecaps, but not before threatening Myth with a ballpoint pen to the throat. Egg’s Outfit: Same outfit from the original design, but without the earrings and a Hawaiian shirt that resembles a Rubix Cube.

Wet Sock’s Outfit: A black overcoat over a white and blue checkered shirt, a feather quill behind their right ear, black pants and shoes.

Curious Anon, Jr. Ultimate Essayist

Don’t be fooled by their age and tendency to be a total pushover for their friends (real or fake), for Curious’s essays are referenced in academic journals all over the world, thanks to how well-written they are. Because Curious is constantly busy writing their assignments, Myth hardly ever gets chances to interact with them. On the few times, Curious gets a day off, they can’t help but politely giggle at the antics of Myth, and wonders how Myth can change her voice at the drop of a hat. Myth loves Curious for their polite attitude, and being the kind of person who would be the prime person to have a cup of tea with.

Outfit: Same outfit from the original, except with a green turtleneck instead of their tie, and longer hair that goes past their shoulders.

Nerd Anon, Former Ultimate Procrastinator

If you thought Janon was lazy, Nerd is somehow makes Janon look like Dream. Needless to say, Nerd gets very grouchy if woken up from his usual 12 hours of sleep, and he especially can’t stand the more energetic Anons of the Kibo-Con roster, but especially the adorable and childish Myth. Years of starring in anime has made Myth realise that she found her male tsundere love interest, much to the anger and embarrassment of the lazy and starving college student. Myth regularly tries to use harem tropes to woo Nerd, but they just result in Nerd releasing all of his pent-up strength on the charming voice actress.

Outfit: Messier hair, a black and unbuttoned gakuran over an improperly-buttoned white dress shirt, and matching black shoes, regularly holds a brown suitcase.

Eldritch Anon, Ultimate Speedreader

Eldritch lived in an old and dilapidated library for practically all of his life, and managed to clear the entirety of the library roster three times over. But because of his isolated upbringing and his binging of horror and fantasy novels, Eldritch shows a hostile distrust of just about everybody, even the adorable-looking and sounding Myth, claiming that she is a spiritual vessel that houses thousands of tortured high school girl souls. Myth believes that that sounds like a great anime series, but she is willing to back away from the bite-sized bookworm for now, seeing as Eldritch doesn’t trust the seiyuu in the slightest.

Outfit: Longer and unkempt hair, black reading glasses, a patchy brown jacket over a green sweater vest with a brown stripe in the middle and a red bow tie with white polka dots, brown pants, and black and white shoes.

Dream Anon, Ultimate Trivia Master

With an energetic disposition and a love of learning the most random of things, Dream is the captain of her school’s quiz bowl team, and truly deserves her appearance and victories on many trivia game shows. Myth and Dream got along like water and Kool-Aid mix, thanks to their similar energetic, goofy, and childish personalities and dispositions. Myth loves to learn random trivia from Dream, and Dream loves to watch the anime that Myth stars in. In conclusion, both Myth and Dream gain something out of their friendship. In Myth’s eyes, Dream is like the little sister Myth never had, and Dream is happy to earn that position.

Outfit: Blue and red hairclips shaped like question marks, a oversized blue letterman’s jacket with a big yellow question mark on the back over a black shirt with a big yellow one on the front and back, shorts and shoes from original design.

Iris Anon, Jr. Ultimate Personal Assistant

With a constant need to help and assist others, Iris carries herself with an overly-positive and cheerful demeanour, despite her heavy workload, which makes her a massive hit with the people who hire her to carry out a variety of duties, such as cooking, cleaning, and entertaining guests at parties (the latter being a particular speciality of hers). But just because she‘s clumsy when off-duty, that doesn’t mean she‘s clumsy or careless with her duties, for any of her bosses could tell you that Iris does everything with precision and accuracy. Just like with Dream, Myth and Iris get along, thanks to their similar demeanours and dispositions.

Outfit: A blue overcoat and matching skirt over a red tie and a white dress shirt, white stockings, black Mary Janes, glasses from original design.

Purple Anon, Ultimate VS Debater

Specializing in hypothetical matchups between both famous and obscure historical figures, Purple is famous for her online videos that bring attention to underrated historical figures, and pits them against each other in hypothetical intellectual and physical battles. Because she is a historical expert, this influences Purple’s vocabulary, making her speak in an old-fashioned and archaic style, much to the confusion of the majority of the con attendants and chaperones. Because of Purple’s extreme timidity when not behind a screen, Purple and Myth don’t interact much, if at all. Myth yearns for Purple to come out of her shell, though.

Outfit: A black overcoat over a purple turtleneck, a black skirt, stockings and shoes from original design.

This series revolves around a childish and dorky voice actress (aka. The Harem Queen), making friends with both her fellow chaperones and the con’s attendees.

PERSONALITY

Despite her career as a seiyuu making her even more outgoing and energetic, deep down she’s still a massive goofy dork, which you can see very clearly in her interactions with the other seiyuus. Because she’s younger than her colleagues, she has a tendency to be babied by them, and unlike Janon, she doesn’t mind. VoiceAct!Myth is also very romantically minded, much like Romantic!Myth, but she doesn’t seem to realise that harem anime isn’t exactly the best tool to get romantic advice from. People claim that Myth doesn’t have a consistent voice, for she repeatedly switches up her voice, to impersonate one of her characters.

VoiceAct!Myth wears her standard glasses, and her purple hair down. She also wears a brown beret on her head, and a pair of microphone headphones over her ears. She also wears an oversized white turtleneck, a long brown shirt with a bisexual heart patch on the right side, a brown side bag, white stockings, and black Mary Janes.

Hi, so long story short, I just saw the anon who plugged your Watch Au to Isa-Ghost and uhh the anon was actually my friend. They told me yesterday that they did it (but I didn't realise until I saw it just now), as they've been trying to get me to join (I'm making my Watcher right now)! I totally understand if your friend is shy (this sort of thing is a bit more interaction than most people are used to on tumblr lol), but if it makes them feel any better, I don’t have any intentions of pushing anyone outside of their comfort zone. I will not be interacting with any Watchers (outside of mentioning them as background characters within ficlets and the like) without their creator’s permission, nor am I pushing any rp-like interaction. I will certainly engage and respond if other Watchers interact with my posts in-character, but I’m not gonna initiate anything with specific submitted characters myself. I want this to be a blog that people can interact with as much or as little as they’d like, without feeling pressured for more. You wanna do art? Do art! You wanna write a fanfic? Write a fanfic! You wanna make a Watcher and that’s it? Go for it! You wanna just consume the content and like/reblog posts and just enjoy what myself and others have created? WE LOVE YOU.

All that to say, first of all, thank you to your friend for telling isa-ghost about the au. It honestly made my day. Second of all, let them know that they are free to interact with The Watch as much or as little as they’d like, with no shame or pressure or anything from me or anyone else. I know a lot of people would probably post something like, “awwww, it’s okay, we’re all nice here, come interact!” when receiving an ask like this, but as someone who has her own struggles with social interactions, I don’t want to make your friend or anyone else feel bad for simply not wanting to interact, even if we strive to be the nicest, most welcoming sideblog in the history of humankind. Every day I am beyond thankful and appreciative for every person who takes the time to look at this crazy story I have molded and shaped from Sean’s incredible acting and inspiring theorist community, and that’s not gonna change no matter how much or how little you interact with The Watch AU.

Reading your Theories and Stories always gives me chills, and althought I dont get excited easily about fictional stuff, I absolutely love seeing people beeing passionate and wildy theorizing about something, especially all this Anti stuff. Well thank you Anon, I appreciate that :) like I’ve said before, I got Tumblr b/c of theorists/ Anti in the first place. I can’t create gifs, or edits, or fanart like some AMAZING people can- so I make “theories” (or wild goose chase guesses).

But I love the interactions, I love the ideas flying everywhere and new ones created b/c of another person’s view. I love how much Jack himself gets into it- and gives us SO MUCH to work with. It’s so much damn fun :D

First off, sorry about having to use a screenshot of a blockquote for the first part of your answer/ask. The first ask got eaten but I had a text copy of it.

Haha, oh yeah, the whole “Mystery Man is Gaster and he was erased from existence when he was shattered across time and space” thing started thanks to a programming bug (and some datamining fans letting their imagination go wild, but mostly the bug part).

While I can sort of understand why people got confused, I.... Wait, no. No, I can’t. What freshly published game doesn’t have a few bugs in it? There was no reason to think Undertale was special and flawless and anything that needed players to mess with the game files to see was just “programmed that way.”

Did they really believe Toby Fox purposefully published a crowdfunded JRPG-style game that people have to pay $10 or more to play with a vague and sparsely done mystery with no answers hidden away in the game files just for the buyers who know how to datamine and mess with game files, even while including messages in the game files telling dataminers not to share any secrets they find (because it would spoil the game for others), and even expressing his displeasure over fans doing just that in various interviews?

And a few of those “Fun” events were found to have a specific chance of happening programmed into the game (criminally low chances, actually). If these events were originally meant to be only experienced by editing the game file, then why were those chances even included in the programming?

Doors II: The Knocking

... it’s a Gaster follower/goner kid color palette version of a door that’s only in their house.

ONLY in their house? Au contraire, my good anon, you can find the door in Undyne’s house.

(Yes, I know... “Why didn’t you mention this in your last answer?” Because I only thought to check the background doors afterwards)

This discovery only underlines the point I was trying to make: game developers re-use elements. Even if the door wasn’t used anywhere else in the game and was truly unique to the skeletons and Mystery Man, most of the fun events re-use elements used elsewhere in the game. In fact, the Gossip follower is the only fun event character with a completely unique design.

There’s not even a wide variety of door sprites actually used in Undertale. This door has a very basic and very common-looking design. It’s generic. It’s also the only door design with a lock and regular opening animation sprite included in the game files as far as I can see. It’s a perfect fit for Mystery Man.

Other than it, there’s only three other door sprites used in the entire game that aren’t technically archways. Two are way too fancy for the door to some shy and reclusive NPC’s hideout/hidden home, one being the door to the Ruins exit and the other being to the developer’s room, and the other doesn’t look quite as nice as the door used.

So Mystery Man having the same door of the skelebros (and Undyne!) really says more about the generic nature of the door than anything about Mystery Man himself.

Side note: the door is used as an interior door except with Mystery Man, so this would explain why the room it appears in is called “room_water_fakehallway.”

(Also, just a thought, but if Mystery Man is Gaster, why not just call his room “room_gaster” and Entry Seventeen’s room “room_g_entry” or “room_gasterentry”? For that matter, why not call his sprite Gaster?)

Goner kid says “Have you ever thought about a world where everything is exactly the same... Except you don’t exist? Everything functions perfectly without you...” So putting those two details together with Gaster being “shattered across time and space” (plus the whole sound thing) makes people wonder if Mystery Man’s room was--whether previously or in another timeline--a room in their house.

Throughout the rest of the game, goner is specifically used for people who are about to die. We are given no reason to think Goner Kid is anything other than a dying young monster pondering over the inevitable. The dark nature of the encounter might be why it’s a fun event.

While they ask Frisk to forget about them, memory and forgetting is a running theme in the game due to the nature of resets (not because of Gaster) and the popular theory is that Gaster was forgotten, not that he wants to be forgotten. What is said and what is theorized contradict each other.

For the “Goner Kid speaks for Gaster” theory, there is also the issue of how Goner Kid is supposed to be speaking for Gaster. Is Goner Kid some sort of mystic oracle who is speaking for Gaster in first person due to sensing his loss essence or, I dunno, something weird like that? Or is Gaster somehow speaking through Goner Kid due to possession or something? There’s no evidence for either argument and none of these ideas make sense in context of the world rules set by the rest of the game.

Little short side rant:

It seems another thing that Gaster theorists cannot agree on is what/where/when the fuck the followers are supposed to be if Gaster was erased from existence and is Mystery Man (somehow at the same time) and all the fun events with the programming error were meant to work that way.

Some say, “They were erased from existence too... but are somehow able to converse with Frisk sometimes.”

Others say, “They’re only partially erased (whatever that means) and can converse with Frisk sometimes.”

And some, like me, say, “Dude, they’re just rare events in the game, like Clam Girl.”

Just saying, the most popular Gaster theory can’t seem to get its act together.

Returning to the subject at hand, the dialogue of the Gaster followers throws a wrench in the “Gaster was retconned from existence and forgotten” theory that the assumption that Goner Kid (and by extension all gray NPC fun events) is connected to Gaster both spawned and depends on.

This clearly indicates that Asgore didn’t forget Gaster. This should’ve been clear even back when the fun values weren’t debugged.

That being said, I really do not get how fans interpreted “they say he shattered across time and space” as “he was erased from existence.”

One day, he vanished without a trace. They say he shattered across time and space.

Let me break down this entire line.

They say

This is actually a phrase that in real life means “it is rumored.” As in, it is rumored he shattered across time and space.

he shattered

Shattered, scattered, collapsed (which has the double meaning of fell and shattered), and the like are all words used in the game to describe a monster dying and turning to dust.

So “he shattered” is effectively the same thing as saying “he died and became dust” in context of the game, not “his consciousness and body was scattered throughout time and space.”

across

Here’s an interesting thing about the word across: it technically doesn’t mean the same thing as throughout, the definition most commonly assumed when people discuss this line. Compare:

Across:

1) To, toward or from the far side of (something that lies between two points of interest).

2) On the opposite side of (something that lies between two points of interest).

3) From one side to the other within (a space being traversed).

4) At or near the far end of (a space).

Throughout:

1) In every part of; all through.

time and space

This goes without saying, but it should be noted that monsters have a limited amount of space and what space they have is inescapable. Since Gaster vanished without a trace while trapped behind the barrier, it’s unlikely he vanished into

space

so much as

time

. Time, time manipulation, and time travel are all important themes (not the word I’m looking for, but I’m drawing a blank) in the game, so it would make sense that Gaster vanished into time itself.

Of course, this would also fit the implication that the strange machine in Sans’ basement is a time machine and the two tweets from Twitter between Toby and a fan that hinted it had something to do with Gaster’s disappearance (sadly, the fan’s Tweet was lost to time).

So the line is basically saying “it is rumored his dust was scattered at different linear points of time (and, to a lesser extent, space) when he died.”

There’s nothing in the line to indicate he was

erased

from time and space.

people wonder if Mystery Man’s room was--whether previously or in another timeline--a room in their house.

If either of these ideas were true, the player would've found the room (or what’s left of it) in their house in at least one playable timeline as a fun event, not off in Waterfall.

So based on what we currently know of Pep's possible past and the newly added content warnings, here's my theory. (That might as well be it's own story. I did not realize that I would write this much. Feel free to idk screen shot or copy this ask and put it under a read more)

So, Bruno, he's an anxious Italian man who runs his own pizzeria with his spouse. He's pretty content with life, his business is doing okay and he's in a pretty good relationship. Life was good.

Then came Pizza Head.

So Pizza Head comes and he goes on about striking a deal or whatever to get the place for himself. Bruno refuses, it's their passion. It's both of their dreams to own and run a pizzeria. They would never do it.

Pizza Head (to everyones surprise) leaves.

And for a while nothing much happens, except one day his spouse goes missing.

He's just straight up panicking, there's no note, no anything. Why would they leave him?

Days, weeks, maybe even months pass, but even after the authorities are called and he's spent many long hours searching, he couldn't find them.

His thoughts at that point are... well let's just say they're not exactly good. Part of him blames himself for it. The other part suspects Pizza Head, but it's not like he can find him.

His pizzeria is pretty much in shambles, he hasn't been taking care of himself, and he's... close to giving up.

So perfect time for Pizza Head to come right back.

He makes a different deal. Tells Bruno that he knows where his spouse is and would lead him exactly to where they are only if Bruno gives him his pizzeria.

He agrees.

He goes to this strange tower with him. Up an elevator. To find... an exact replica of his pizzeria in this tower?

At that point he's uneasy, but still reluctantly follows him into the pizzeria.

He sees their silhouette and runs to them.

Only to realize a bit too late that he's been tricked. Lied to.

They've been dead this whole time.

And he's too shocked with grief to realize what happens next.

Pizza Head kills him.

...

Well, he can't say it wasn't worth it. The business was pretty good while it lasted, but there's competition.

Some other Italian guy opened up a place close to his tower.

And maybe you're asking why he doesn't just do the same thing? Maybe even just kill the guy, no giant lazer required.

Look, doing the same thing to this guy would be pretty boring.

So he decides to have some fun.

Besides, he needs a use for that body and that whole pizzeria in the fourth floor.

They surprisingly have a lot in common. Maybe he can play around with that.

Good thing most of his body's intact.

(So yeah Pizza Head makes a copy of Peppino using Bruno's body as a base of sorts, which explains the memories and stuff)

(So Pep is mostly Bruno's body with a mix of different animals' DNA, mostly because he kinda ran out of stuff and had to substitute a bit.)

(Everything else in his brain was taught to him, the backwards speech is there mostly as a precaution because if the clone somehow has the original's memories then he'll be in huge trouble, so making him unable to be understood would keep him from telling, plus the added bonus of backwards speech being creepy in general helps in making him even scarier.)

(Oough, that's so sad!!! Loosing everything he's got and then some!!!

Once again, I do not confirm or deny anything, but oh boy, you guys are so talented with these!!
