If I had a Pokemon team based on my name (Myth)

I've seen that post going around of what type specialist you'd be based on your name, and I decided to construct a whole team around mine! Or, at least, the one I use online lmao

First and foremost, this is my Poke Persona! At least, for this lol. I made this forever ago through Picrew...

But! She would be a Pokemon school teacher with romantic friends-to-lovers tension with the local gym leader <3

As for their team, I first went through every single Pokemon and picked out those with origins tied to folklore, legends, and mythology and went from there! So without further ado:

Sylveon - "Sylveon may also be based on Kaltes-Ekwa, a moon goddess in Ugrian mythology who shape-shifted into a hare."

Obviously Sylveon is also associated with fairies, but I went for more solid ties to mythology than fairies, elves, etc. When I first made this Persona, I knew I wanted her to have a Sylveon, so I'm glad this association worked out!

Mawile - "Mawile may have been based on the Japanese legend of the futakuchi-onna, a woman with a mouth in the back of her head."

I think having a Mawile just fits for them, y'know? I tried matching aesthetic along with ties to mythology ^^'

Altaria - "Altaria may be based on a Peng, a Chinese legendary bird of enormous size, said to travel 3000 li in one flap of its mighty, cloud-like wings."

Altaria is super cute and cool, and I think she would love having one on her team! Especially since it would get along well with the kids.

Floette - "Floette appears to be based on fairies and nymphs, such as Chloris and Antheia, and how fairies are sometimes depicted flying by holding on to the stems of plants."

This Floette would be holding a white flower. I think Floette would want to stay unevolved, which is just fine. It'd also get along well with the kids Myth teaches!

Espurr - "It may also be inspired by nekomata, who were inspired by cats who live many years until their tail splits and they gain supernatural powers, much like when Espurr evolves into Meowstic."

Maybe not the best to hang out around kids at the Pokemon school because of its struggle to contain its psychic power, but I think it might've been a stray that they found and took in.

Skiddo - "The grass that grows upon it may originate from Pan or Faunus, gods of nature who are half-goat, half-human."

...Okay, this is probably a looser connection, but she would absolutely love taking care of Skiddo!

Headcanons for Anime!May catching a Mienfoo?

oooo sure

Even though Unova didn’t have Contests, May thought it was a pretty cute region. She liked getting to know the pokemon there. After all, she loved exploring new places!

Unova had a lot of great food, too, though once when she was eating some street food, a Mienfoo came up and tried to take it from her. Of course, that wouldn’t stand.

That was how she and Mienfoo met. The two of them managed to work the whole thing out together, and Mienfoo decided it wanted to stick around with her, even when she left Unova.

Mienfoo was really strong and liked battling, though the two of them worked together in order for it to be ready for Contests- it wanted to at least try one of them.

Though there were a couple of bumps, Mienfoo actually found Contests challenging enough that it wanted to do more of them with May. Obviously that was fine with her!

ultimate pomologist Aoi?

TIL what a pomologist is

Hina grew up in an area with a lot of fruit, so she had a lot of resources for learning how to grow fruit herself. Making sure they were all healthy trees was her first step into the field.

With the amount of knowledge she was able to pick up, she worked through an advanced pomology degree quickly. It was still a lot of hard work on her end, though.

Though she’s helped on several research projects, Hina preferred to be in a teaching position with her knowledge. She liked to think she was a good teacher of pomology!

At Hope’s Peak, she was able to breed and study fruits, which was fine enough for her. It was still part of what she loved, after all, and she could share those fruits with her friends.

She tried to balance being in class with the research she does, since she loves her classmates, but sometimes she lost track of time while she was working on the fruits and nuts.

Chisa was absolutely devastated, not to mention mad at herself.

She should’ve seen that something was wrong.

Maybe everything could’ve been avoided that way.

Kyosuke Munakata:

He should’ve been able to see the signs in Juzo.

After all, he’d been fine-tuned to see despair in people.

He and Juzo were closer than most people, though. He should’ve noticed.

Ultimate toxicologist Seiko?

so many i swear i'd done before but apparently hadn't lol

Seiko had a wide range of things she did as a toxicologist, though most of her classmates just associated her with poison in general. There was a lot more that she did than just that.

Her work was mostly research-based, specifically in terms of searching for treatments to known toxins. Some, after all, were far deadlier upon exposure than others.

She knew how serious her work was, and how careful and concentrated she needed to be in order to work with all of the chemicals she did. It was honestly the only time she felt fully calm.

Most of her classmates avoided her due to her skittishness combined with her talent, but she was really sweet if any of them bothered to get to know the girl behind the talent.

For the time being, she was alright enough working alone in her lab. She was doing important work, and that was more than fulfilling enough. She didn’t mind not having many friends.

The killing game was always just a simulation. All the students were alive and well, but they needed to adapt to real life.

Shuichi, once he found out that Kaede was alive, ran to her room. Now they can be together and no one can separate them. I love saimatsu

Waking up from the simulation was draining, but at the same time, Shuichi felt overwhelming relief. It took a minute for his brain to catch up and recognize what that feeling meant.

All of their classmates were still alive. Every single one of them. As soon as he was able to, he got up and left his room to try to find Kaede’s, to apologize, to talk, to…anything.

Of course, he knew that adjusting to what his brain knew in the simulation and what the real world was like would take a while, but he wanted the comfort of someone he thought he lost forever.

Kaede smiled widely when he entered, and she look good- as in, not in poor shape or anything. Not that she didn’t look nice, either, just…Shuichi was glad to see her alive.

Though they still wanted to get to know each other a bit more in-depth first, it was just a relief to see each other again in a much less threatening context than the simulation had been.

He knew that it was mostly a high school crush that had lingered on too long. There was no indication that Kyosuke would return his feelings, at least not that he picked up on.

It was tough, but Juzo wanted to be able to move on. The process was very long, and very hard, but he eventually did enough that he was ready to date someone else.

That was how he found himself accepting the date offered to him by Great Gozu- or, just Gozu. That was how Juzo knew him after their first couple of dates with each other.

Actually, it was really nice. Juzo was happy with Gozu, and Gozu was happy, too. He said as much. Juzo really enjoyed their dates and the kind of conversations they had.

Even though getting there was rough, Juzo was happy where he ended up. He couldn’t stay caught up on a school crush for the rest of his life; that wasn’t him.

It wasn’t that he was scared, necessarily. He didn’t think Kyosuke and Chisa would hate him or anything. Or, at the very least, he didn’t think they’d fully stop talking to him.

He’d had enough poor experiences, though, that he was wary. Even with them. It took him a while to get up the courage to tell them, until it finally just slipped out.

He didn’t know what he was expecting, but Chisa gave him a bone-crushing hug. Even Kyosuke looked kind of proud, in a way. Juzo didn’t know why until a moment later.

The two of them, he found out, were both queer, too- Chisa was pansexual, and Kyosuke was bisexual. It wasn’t just him, it appeared. He hadn’t known that about him.

It was a slight relief to be able to talk about things with those two, though he wasn’t comfortable coming out to anyone else just yet. Just those two was good enough.

When it came to relationships, the three of them were relatively well-communicating. That was how they started their arrangement for Chisa and Juzo both dating Kyosuke.

The two of them didn’t really mind that they were dating the same guy, since they were already familiar with each other. Kyosuke didn’t have many arguments, either.

So while Chisa and Juzo weren’t dating each other, Chisa used the opportunity to become even closer of a friend to him. Juzo wasn’t so sure that was needed, but couldn’t get out of it.

Sometimes it took a little extra work and conversation- both of them wanting to go on a date on a particular night- but for the most part everything went smoothly since they were friends first.

At the end of the day, Chisa, Juzo, and Kyosuke were all with the person (or people) they loved, and that was more than enough. They could deal with whatever happened next.

Headcanons for Kazuichi mentoring Nagisa?

Kazuichi realized that Nagisa was made by his parents to be a much more studious person than he was. For a while, he thought that they wouldn’t have much of a bond because of that.

Once Nagisa recognized that Kazuichi was good at physical things like his talent of being a mechanic, he realized that maybe there were one or two things Kazuichi would be able to teach him.

Even though what they did in terms of learning mechanical stuff was smaller, Kazuichi was able to answer a lot of Nagisa’s questions both about that and about anything else.

It soon became that Kazuichi was like an older brother figure for Nagisa, or at the very least just someone he could trust who was almost an adult. And Kazuichi liked hanging out with Nagisa to work on stuff!

He hoped he was doing everything right, at least, since that was his first time mentoring someone on anything. It seemed like he at least was not making anything worse.

Makoto as the ultimate digital animator headcanons?

sure!

Digital animation was something that interested him the first time he saw it. Makoto instantly wanted to try it out for himself, which was how his talent truly manifested.

There was a bit of a learning curve, of course, especially as technology updated and he had to learn how to use new programs, but he had a lot of fun with his projects.

He was one of his classmates who tended to get really absorbed in what he was doing to the point where he accidentally stayed up really late. To be fair, he was trying to work on that.

A lot of his projects, even the shorter ones, required a lot of time and attention. It wasn’t unusual for him to be late or absent from class because he was working on something or catching up on sleep.

His animations were very widely popular, even outside of Japan. Makoto was just happy that he was making something he could be proud of with every animation project.
