I had a great day out at Myponga reservoir recently, participating in some fish sampling with Recfish SA and SARDI. The native fish are thriving in this spectacular location even with the large biomass of redfin, some of which are on the menu for the larger natives. In fact, the scientists tagged a 72cm cod which had a redfin hanging out of it’s mouth! I can also report that I saw some of the recently stocked rainbow trout hunting baitfish in the shallow margins too. Calliope didn’t interact with Gamzee when she was young? She would have made a trollsona to be like her adopted father.

And personally, I find it racist to erase all the troll culture on Earth C. It is as if by going to colonize Mars, we take only the American culture and prohibit everything that is African or Asian.

So it's not racist because a purple highblood let it slide, just that a mutant like Karkat, has no right to state his opinion on the topic of if it is racist or not, when a higher being approves of it. But even then, it is Caliborn who spent the most with Gamzee. Calliope barely acknowledges or speaks about her father to Roxy or anyone else despite being raised by him too. Wouldn't it be a good idea for Calliope to tell Roxy or others about Gamzee prior to [S]GAME OVER? What about Act 6 Post Retcon? Did Calliope tell VRISKA about Gamzee's actions and that's why Vriska had to still follow the same steps as Gamzee (like fusing Kernelsprites and meeting with the Alpha Kids)? So how much of troll culture can we allow? Do we allow trolls celebrate their version of Christmas by letting them decorate literal poop? Is incest only fine if it's from trolls that humans can never practice it? What if a human adopts a troll and their sibling is human? Is it okay for them to engage in red or black romance? Is it okay to still talk about the hemospectrum in history form or is it best left unspoken that the trolls never learn about their true origins? Why is it still Jadebloods still caring for the Mother Grub and wrigglers. Why isn't there humans working alongside her that isn't Rose to act as a caretaker or nurse like any other from a hospital? Why isn't there other blood colors working there to help? Keep in mind too, some of the customs, beliefs, and rules were made by people like Doc Scratch and The Condesce, the big bad of the series that purposely made Alternia as a living hellhole.

He can’t tell if he’s giggling or crying as he stammers out ‘I love yous’ All he knows is that he never wants to be separated from you ever again.

2) Because he adores you. Because you look at him so softly. Because you kiss his scars and make him feel so adored he doesn’t know how to handle it. He takes his time with this, kissing you slowly, touching you where he knows you love it. He wants you to fall apart in his arms. He wants you  to know that he’ll be there to put you back together. Because you’ve always been there for him.

3) Because he’s angry. He feels like nothing. All of his hard work for years and one mistake set him all back. He knows he shouldn’t take it out on you, pushing you into bed and sliding on top of you, his hands tangling into the little hairs at the base of your head. his mouth pressing heavy against yours, stealing the air from your lungs. He knows he should talk to you about it first but this was easier. He didn't need to think about the right words to tell you how useless he feels; he'd rather just enjoy you, that usually helps.

4) Because he's sorry. You believe he’s so good and he’ll let you believe it even though he’s not so sure that it’s true anymore. These kisses are shaky, his hands trembling as he pulls you against him, his breath stuttering when he pulls away only to come back needier, whinier because if he tries to speak he might burst into tears. He hopes that the kisses he leaves on your skin will make up for the words he doesn’t know how to express.

This has been going around in my mind...

I'm embarrassed by how long it took me to realise that Orpheus was Morpheus' son.

I'm a Hadestown fan and a lover of classical Greek mythology. I know Orpheus' story backwards and forwards. I knew he was the son of a muse, even.

But for whatever reason, my brain did not put 2+2 together.

I mean... for crying out loud, they named him Orpheus after his father!

Which makes his death and Dream and Callope's grief all that more heart breaking. Losing a child is always a tragedy but when your son is named after you, dies a horrible death, and your wife is upset enough at you that you couldn't do anything to prevent said death that it ends the marriage... but he still loves her enough to come to her aid when she needs him...

I just... it's a lot of feelings, y'all.

Hey shut the fuck up about calliope being manipulative and evil, you KNOW she was raised differently from other cherubs, you KNOW that rose being there put her in danger, and yes it was weird that she didn’t apologise, but I dunno, messing with someone’s family meeting or literally dying is not a hard choice, just say you don’t like the ship and stop trying to justify it being problematic, things don’t have to be evil for you to not like them

How was Calliope gonna die exactly by Rose and Roxy meeting each other? Is Lord English gonna dash on over to kill them? Is Caliborn going to take over, making Calliope disappear? What other reason does Calliope of have of Rose and Roxy not meeting each other besides bullshit lore of the Light Player and Void Player must not meet this early? Isn't her trying to control the narrative of her supposed allies just as bad as Caliborn becoming the big bad Lord English? Calliope is just as manipulative as other cherubs, but her tactic approach is more passive and make herself look sympathetic to have others do work for her, compared to Caliborn who would use power, fear, annoying others, and intimidation to get his way. At least Caliborn tries to be direct and confronts the issues, while Calliope prefers to stay on the sides, have others hear her, and she watches them do the work.
