Power Rangers Ninja Storm Headcanons

Kanoi Watanabe promised his wife that Cam wouldn't be a ninja, but still trained his son with a ninja's fighting style. He also found someone to train his son in the ways of a samurai after she died to honor his late wife

Cam is homeschooled, which is partly why he's so awkward around people who aren't his family or his friends (his team)

Dustin's comic book collection is vast and extensive. He has a massive amount of Power Rangers, DC, and Marvel, but also small-time comics. He also watches anime and reads manga

Shane got into skateboarding because his parents were always busy and never had time to run him anywhere, so he started skateboarding so he could take himself

Shane, Dustin, and Tori are childhood friends, they met when they were in grade school and have remained besties ever since

Cam's issue with the Wind Ninja Rangers wasn't that they're late or underperforming, it's that he knows Rangering is a dangerous business and he didn't want to get attached to Shane, Tori, and Dustin, and then lose someone else he cares about

Cam's birthday is a sensitive subject for him, he never feels like celebrating, because his mother died on the day he turned six

Cam keeps the amulet to honor his mother, but also because he's grown accustomed to wearing something around his neck. Shane, Dustin, and Tori would kill for Cam if asked or given half a chance, Cam is their favorite person (besides each other and their s/os) and they're highly protective of him, even after he becomes a Ranger

The Ninja Rangers keep a special eye on the other Ninja teams and also the Samurai team, not because they're jealous or anything but because they're ready to jump in and help if necessary

Cam trained both Antonio Garcia and Levi Weston, he's protective of them and is always happy to take their calls. He can and has dismissed classes early when they call during those classes

The reason Cam didn't get sucked up with the rest of the school is because the Power had already chosen him. The Power protects its chosen Rangers, so Cam wasn't taken with the school when it was sucked up into the air

It took Blake and Hunter forty-five minutes to capture Cam when they went to get Kanoi. Cam doesn't hold it over their heads, but he will on occasion mention it when they're particularly cocky or arrogant (ie.: "It took you forty-five minutes to capture a regular, everyday ninja while in your morphed forms, I don't think you should talk about being 'the greatest ninja ever.'")

Cam is the youngest of the team, being a year younger than the other Rangers. Hunter is the oldest at 19, then Tori, Shane, Blake, and Dustin at 18, then Cam at 17

Hunter already graduated high school and Cam has graduated college (genius that he is), but Shane, Dustin, Tori, and Blake all graduated between Scent of a Ranger and I Love Lothor

Shane, Tori, and Dustin are Soulmates, platonic or not. Other Soulmates include: Shane and Dustin, Tori and Blake, and Hunter and Cam

[Warning: child death] Cam, Kapri, and Marah are related in blood. Lothor and Kanoi had an older sister who left the family the second she turned 18 and hasn't been heard from since. The only way they knew she was still alive was Kapri and Marah's existence. Kara Watanabe, unfortunately, died in childbirth trying to deliver Kapri and Marah's baby brother, neither she nor the baby survived

Shane, Dustin, and Tori all moved to California, which is why Shane and Tori didn't think Power Rangers were real outside of comics

Dustin has a cat, Junebug. She's a grey-and-white tabby with bright green eyes. Dustin found her on the side of the road as a kid and he brought her with him to California

Cam would love to own a snake, but Kanoi has never liked snakes and Cam doesn't have time to care for one. That being said, the other Rangers get him one for his birthday and promise to help him care for the little thing. It's a beautiful yellow boa and Cam adores him. His name is Banana (courtesy of his former owner) and Cam can often be found wearing the snake around his neck or on his arm when he's not teaching a class

Cam earned a nickname only the Rangers are allowed to use for him: Camera. This is due to his exceptional work with recording devices and picture-taking. Others can try to use this nickname and Cam will either not respond, or flip said person depending on his mood

Cam Watanabe

Background/story

His mom died when he was little from Lothor attacking earth

His dad doesn’t talk about her much, especially since he took over the school, but Cam knows she was smart, beautiful, kind, and a badass

He does not know she used to be a samurai

Going back in time was some well needed closure for him because now he has an actual memory of his mom aside from glimpses

His dad is usually pretty good, but he has his moments of iffyness (he did lose his wife to his brother so… trauma)

He also has other students to take care of on top of his own son

Is very proud of Cam but forgets to say it

Cam thinks the reason his dad won’t let him be a ninja/ranger is because he thinks he’s weak/not good enough

So he trains everyday despite his dad not exactly allowing it

He is one of the best ninjas in the academy which is why he is unimpressed with the OG trio at the beginning of the show

Also held a bit of resentment because he was better at it than them but he was stuck behind a computer

When he finds out it was because his dad made a promise to his mom he kind of shuts down and pulls away 

He and his dad make up and have a long talk about boundaries and promises and ninjas/rangers

Cam thinks Shane is too full of himself and overprotective

(He feels safe with him in a way he isn’t anywhere else

He knows he can tell Shane he’s overwhelmed somewhere and he’ll take him somewhere quiet

He trusts him as a leader and respects how far he’s come

He really is his big brother

Even if he could lay off the hair ruffles)

Cam thinks Dustin is ariheaded and impulsive

(And caring and compassionate and passionate and brave and intelligent and the first real friend he’d ever really had

He loves talking to him about random shit

He’ll sometimes see how off topic he can get before Dustin refocuses on their conversation

Dustin is his little brother no matter what the other’s say about him being the littlest

Tori, while the smartest and usually the voice of reason, is quick to anger and just as impulsive, if not more impulsive, than the others

She’s always sticking up for him and not letting him fade into the background

She’s also brave and intelligent and loyal and confident in all the ways Cam wishes he could be

While he is older, he does, begrudgingly, see her as an older sister archetype)

Hunter is brooding and stubborn

(He’s also protective and a big fucking softie at heart

He trusts in Cam and doesn’t hesitate to let him take the reigns during a mission

They have a talk after they find out Hunter had part of the crystal about their parents and missing people

Hunter and Cam are equals in a way Cam hasn’ felt before)

Blake is way too smart for is own good and could not be any more obvious about his feelings about Tori

He wears his heart on his sleeve, very unintentionally

Cam was surprised when he asked him for ninja tips

But he was glad to show his expertise on the subject

Blake was the first to say out loud how Cam should be a ranger, Hunter saying he would be the best of them, and everyone else agreed)

The sassiest boi ever (Hunter is second)

Made a snide comment about Dustin’s inability to focus and Dustin gives him a whole rant on how he can’t and Cam feels bad and gives him the Adhd pamphlet before making him a sick ass weapon to make it up to him

Is a bit resentful of the rangers because he wants to do more than be the ‘guy in the chair’

When he makes Cyber Cam, he adds in what he thinks the rangers would prefer him to act

Is pleasantly surprised when they like him better than Cyber Cam (CC is chill after a personality shift)

Actually the best ninja at the whole academy even though he was never formally trained

Technically doesn’t have an element and his suit is a lot of tech and magic as well as his pure samurai badassness

But can deal with it for a time before he snaps

Also goes to college and ends up with a mechanical engineering and technological science degree before getting his PHD (he’s a bit of an overachiever)

Helps Shane out with the academy and Tori with college stuff

Encourages Dustin to get into mechanical engineering because he thinks he’d like it (he is correct)

I actually love and adore this relationship!

If asked, Cam couldn't tell you why he'd chosen to take Marah and Kapri in. He knows that Dustin had pulled him aside not long after they'd found the pair in the aftermath of the battle. He knows that Dustin had said, "I still see good in her, Cam," and Cam had believed the sencerity in Dustin's eyes. He knows that Marah and Kapri have the training to be good ninjas, but not the proper needle in their moral compasses. Cam knows that Lothor may have been disowned from the Mori family, but Kara (his father's sister) was not and Marah and Kapri are his counsins. He knows that Shane, Tori, and Dustin had been on board with giving them second chances.

Cam knows that his team backs him 100%, even against their own students. Hunter and Blake's words don't mean much to the kids at the Wind Ninja Academy, but the title of Power Ranger goes far enough.

It's night time when it happens.

Hunter and Blake are out of Ninja Ops, of course. Hunter’s teaching his classes and Blake's busy with Factory Blue. Shane, Tori, and Dustin were already asleep- already in bed. Cam was up late taking care of some paperwork, so his father didn't have to. Sitting in Ninja Ops and doing paperwork isn't unlike doing his school work while waiting for the computer to finish scanning the area, not unlike bouncing ideas of Cyber Cam while Cam twists a guitar pick between his fingers or files with the amulet around his neck.

"Cam?" calls Marah softly.

Fuck.

"You down here?"

Cam puts down his papers and looks up. Sure, Marah and Kapri are regular- good- ninjas now, but he's still hesitant to let them into Ninja Ops, into the heart of his home, into a place of safety for him, Shane, Tori, and Dustin.

Still, he can't just... Well, maybe he could-? Ah, who was he kidding?

"If you're going to be loud, could you do it outside?" Cam says back, standing as his wayward cousins slip silently down the stairs. He turns to face them. "There are people trying to sleep in here."

Marah comes over quickly, fitting herself to Cam's side as if he and she were conjoined. Ironically, they're the same age, born not long apart. It wasn't hard to imagine them to be twins. Not for Cam, at least.

"Sorry," Marah breaths. "Couldn't sleep."

"She insisted on coming to find you," Kapri says. She grabs Cam's wrist, which would've made Cam freeze in shock a few months ago and send her flying last year. Now he just lets it happen. Kapri doesn't show her emotions as a typical human does. Kapri is stoic and quiet.

She tugs gently on Cam's sleeve. It's the green hoodie Dustin got him a while back, one that Cam loves and adores. Kapri, knowing this, is very gentle when she tugs and tugs.

Cam takes the hint of what Kapri wants- what she won't say, what she's testing- and wraps his arms around her shoulders. "It's fine," he says, squeezing gently. "I'm here for whenever."

Eventually, the cuddle puddle gets moved to the small couch area for when Cam's dizziness proves too much for him. None of them say a thing in the morning, but Cam still finds his cousins in Ninja Ops far more often.

Development

Aziz is another character who was scrapped early on only to be brought back in a bigger role. His initial concept was a geek who tried a bit too hard to be cool. We all knew that guy. That character aspect was recycled into Leo and his tech savvy traits were expanded on. When developing a redesign, he was initially meant to become more of a mischievous hacker, but his finalized look resulted in his sarcastic, “I really wish I weren’t here right now” attitude. After toying with the prospect of him keeping a mischievous streak, I decided to let that grow as his character develops into a more approachable person, starting off as purely professional.

This is such a power imbalance that it is unreal and unfair and the sisters under Lothor's reign and control were feeling...a little bit not great about this thing that their uncle has decided to do to Cam.

Green Rangers are traditionally and eternally easy targets for being made to mind control or turned over to evil because the Morphin Grid might do its best to take care of them, but Green is an agent of chaos. And chaos is all kinds of susceptible to being made into a puppet on a string. Even a Wind Samurai Ranger that spends most of his time underneath the compound of the academy with his father; Cam had to go up top to get himself actually good coffee and check in on the late, late, late ninjas the morning after an important track thing for their shop.

And...it was fun, in the beginning, watching the Rangers cry out when Cam walked away into their uncle's open arms. Observing him in their own little way as he planned battle tactics and made new lethal weapons toys for them to play with. Practiced on the mats with him without holding back like they were told to while out in the field.

Fighting beside him in the field, drunk on battle pride and adrenaline was awesome.

But Kapri has always been a protector type (deep deep deep down). And Marah could never handle seeing an innocent creature suffer without doing something about it (even if it meant doing it on the sly, because no fucking way was she going to get caught being nice when everyone already thought she was a joke).

So Cam is going to go home....it will just take a little conjuring. And a significant entanglement of mistakes.

Tori gets it first, of course, Cam's always been close with her. Not to say that he isn't close with the others, just that Tori's grounding for him. (She thinks it has something to do with their elements.)

It was fun and games at first, Cam jokingly saying "Thanks, Mom," or "Sure, Dad," or various other phrases. Then, as Shane's putting Cam on his knees and Tori's coming around his back as she drags her fingertips across Cam's shoulders, it kinda slips.

Cam tries to cover it up, but he's never been good at holding out where his significant others are involved. So, of course, Shane drags it out of him again. Tori is absolutely delighted. They keep it tame that night, but they absolutely have a discussion afterward. Mommy and Daddy become a casual words during sex when Cam gets overwhelmed.

Cam is usually the one the others tie up, because he really likes being ties up. (He says it's reclaiming, freeing, even.) Tonight, however, Cam's too dizzy to play, so Tori and Blake are looking after him, while Hunter and Shane are playing with Dustin instead.

Dustin wiggles in his bonds. He whimpers when he realizes he's securely caught. "What's going on?" he asks, a little worried.

Shane smiles. "Aww, don't you realize when you're caught, baby?" It's all play, Dustin knows what they're doing.

It's still hot when Dustin pretends he doesn't, wiggling around in those bonds like he couldn't get out in a half a second if he wanted to be.

Shane grins. "Be a good boy, won't you?" Dustin whimpers.

Tori moans, little electric shock sparking up her body. Blake grins and thrusts up into her body. She braces her hands more firmly on his shoulders, pushing down to meet his next thrust.

"Oh, you feel so good," Tori tells him breathlessly. "Harder," she pleads. "More."

Blake is all too happy to comply. He charges his fingers up again, pressing them gently to her body and lets the shocks fly.

Hunter circles Shane slowly, watching sweat bead on the Red Rangers forehead and drips down his face. "How does it feel?" he asks.

"What?" Shane snaps back.

Hunter loves it when Shane gets snappy with the play. It's his favorite thing. "To know your helpless," he elaborates. He circles Shane a few more times, watching his arms tremble as they loose feeling strung up above his head. Hunter watches Ranger Red stare at Hunter in contempt. It's almost convincing.

"Try me," Shane snaps.

Hunter smirks. This would be fun.

Blake is the one that likes being put on display. He wants people to see the effect his lovers have on him. Most of them don't mind letting strangers watch. The only one who draws a line is Cam. Cam's shy, but that's okay, Blake doesn't mind.

"Oh, yeah," Blake groans as Shane sinks further inside.

Shane chuckles breathlessly. "Feels good?" he asks knowingly.

"Yeah, please," Blake begs.

Shane grins. "See all those people?" he asks, leaning down to whisper in the Navy Ranger’s ear. "They're staring, baby," Shane continues. "How many of them are going to go home and get themselves or their partners off to the sight of you on this stage. Hmm?"

"All of them," Blake gasps as Shane starts to move.

Shane chuckles. "Better give them a good show, then, huh?" And with that, he winds back and slams forward. Blake howls.

39 - Intoxicated/Drugged

None of them are sure how it happened, but as long as they have a yes, they're all gonna reap the benefits.

Somehow, Dustin and Cam have been dosed with an aphrodisiac. Dustin thinks it was Kelly, who's husband pops Viagra pills like candy. For Cam, it would be easy for him to mistake pill bottles, but no one's sure how one would slip it to Dustin, who's a freak about what he eats because of motorcross.

"Please," Cam whines. "Please, please, please, it hurts," he pleads. "I can't stand it!"

Shane gives him a soft smile. "I've got you, babe. Don't you worry." He glances as Tori, at the Bradley's who are currently alternating between jacking Dustin off and fucking his mouth.

"Shane," Tori asks politely, breaking the Red's train of thought and drawing his attention to her instead. "Do you mind if I have him to myself first?" she questions.

Shane smiles back. "Not at all," he says. He stands and heads over to Dustin. "Have fun, Tor."
