You know what's funny?

Despite being "losers", Marah and Kapri destroyed Shimazu - a goofy general, but he was still a general.

Yeah you can argue he was beat up after the Power Rangers, but they still killed him.

No hesitation, no remorse and no struggle.

For once they were capable - so it makes sense Lothor got worried they actually were faking incompetence this whole time. Even though he was the one who came up with the plan in the first place.

I had some fun in the BG3 character creator because I was trying to figure out some things with Mal's hair. The exact cut sort of varies in my head based on both the point in the story and how I feel at that moment while writing. I'm inconsistent.

I do figure he spent that first year cutting it himself, and there's a non-zero chance this went on throughout the entire first series, because no one was going to tell him how uneven it all was. It does become more obvious the more the necro-silver comes out.

Then, of course, I had to test out the "someone gives Mal a proper haircut and he actually washes it well and maybe brushes it" and uh.

(Pardon the side part, it should be more in the middle.)

Excuse me, this doesn't look like a man who hides in trees and comes home soggy, covered in mud and guts. Maybe he looks like this further into Archfall, when he's been forbidden from dungeon diving for half a year and has some self-care imposed on him.

Less tongue in cheek, it does certainly give a feel for how he would look much more put together. Farah approved? She likes both.

Okay controversial opinion time but I gotta do it as a Tully apologist: Marah getting hurt wasn’t Tully’s fault. Marah being at the frat party wasn’t Tully’s fault either. Like a 15 year old going to the movies with a friend is pretty normal… Marah should have given Tully a head’s up about the party or should have decided to go home instead. What happened at the party wasn’t Marah or Tully’s fault. Marah should safely be able to safely go to parties without people assaulting her. And yes, Tully should never have driven since she had been drinking. She was legally intoxicated, but the car accident wasn’t her fault; it would have happened even if she was completely sober because the other car ran a red light. So overall I think Kate is being too harsh on her… like y’all have done each other way worse with actual malice and this is where you draw the line? Anyways this show makes me cry way too often

If asked, Cam couldn't tell you why he'd chosen to take Marah and Kapri in. He knows that Dustin had pulled him aside not long after they'd found the pair in the aftermath of the battle. He knows that Dustin had said, "I still see good in her, Cam," and Cam had believed the sencerity in Dustin's eyes. He knows that Marah and Kapri have the training to be good ninjas, but not the proper needle in their moral compasses. Cam knows that Lothor may have been disowned from the Mori family, but Kara (his father's sister) was not and Marah and Kapri are his counsins. He knows that Shane, Tori, and Dustin had been on board with giving them second chances.

Cam knows that his team backs him 100%, even against their own students. Hunter and Blake's words don't mean much to the kids at the Wind Ninja Academy, but the title of Power Ranger goes far enough.

It's night time when it happens.

Hunter and Blake are out of Ninja Ops, of course. Hunter’s teaching his classes and Blake's busy with Factory Blue. Shane, Tori, and Dustin were already asleep- already in bed. Cam was up late taking care of some paperwork, so his father didn't have to. Sitting in Ninja Ops and doing paperwork isn't unlike doing his school work while waiting for the computer to finish scanning the area, not unlike bouncing ideas of Cyber Cam while Cam twists a guitar pick between his fingers or files with the amulet around his neck.

"Cam?" calls Marah softly.

Fuck.

"You down here?"

Cam puts down his papers and looks up. Sure, Marah and Kapri are regular- good- ninjas now, but he's still hesitant to let them into Ninja Ops, into the heart of his home, into a place of safety for him, Shane, Tori, and Dustin.

Still, he can't just... Well, maybe he could-? Ah, who was he kidding?

"If you're going to be loud, could you do it outside?" Cam says back, standing as his wayward cousins slip silently down the stairs. He turns to face them. "There are people trying to sleep in here."

Marah comes over quickly, fitting herself to Cam's side as if he and she were conjoined. Ironically, they're the same age, born not long apart. It wasn't hard to imagine them to be twins. Not for Cam, at least.

"Sorry," Marah breaths. "Couldn't sleep."

"She insisted on coming to find you," Kapri says. She grabs Cam's wrist, which would've made Cam freeze in shock a few months ago and send her flying last year. Now he just lets it happen. Kapri doesn't show her emotions as a typical human does. Kapri is stoic and quiet.

She tugs gently on Cam's sleeve. It's the green hoodie Dustin got him a while back, one that Cam loves and adores. Kapri, knowing this, is very gentle when she tugs and tugs.

Cam takes the hint of what Kapri wants- what she won't say, what she's testing- and wraps his arms around her shoulders. "It's fine," he says, squeezing gently. "I'm here for whenever."

Eventually, the cuddle puddle gets moved to the small couch area for when Cam's dizziness proves too much for him. None of them say a thing in the morning, but Cam still finds his cousins in Ninja Ops far more often.

I've got some headcanons. I'm not that great at writing dates or double dates, tbh, but sometimes I get ideas

Alex usually ends up paying. Gaz and Farah offer but he just usually quietly pays the bill

Farah and Gaz usually organize it

Farah knows most of the places and Gaz knows what everyone enjoys to do (chronic people pleaser)

They usually get mistaken to be dating the wrong person, which makes them all laugh a lot

Look, Farah and Gaz don't necessarily pass for straight too well on their own, but Alex and Malika do and so the other two pass by proxy around them

They make games out of how many times someone just assumes rather than asks

Malika is usually fairly confused on what's happening so she just sort of sweetly corrects them

She has tried to fight a few people who had a problem with it

Look, she's a "if you have a problem, you can take it up with my gun" kind of person, but she generally tries to be sweet

The few times they've gone to bars (usually while Farah and Malika are visiting England and Gaz wants to show them the local pubs) Farah and Alex got into pretty intense competitions over pub games

They have done karaoke, Malika and Alex did a lot of duets. She knows a shocking amount of American love songs and so does Alex

Farah is absolutely cracked at claw machines, so they avoid fairs because they will spend hours and go home with too many stuffed animals. Malika's various plushie collections are kept up by Farah (Alex is pretty good at most fair games, too, but he doesn't have the attention span to sit there and do them for hours like Farah.)
