I think a huge part of why I like Nick so much is that you meet him and he’s pretty much instantaneously willing to do anything for you. He’s willing to literally lobotomize a dead man for you and THEN he’s willing to potentially die or get all his data corrupted or whatnot just so you can look through Kellogg’s memories. He does all this without expecting to even be paid. I mean it’s definitely concerning how little he looks after himself because I think he should probably have had at least a few more reservations about all that but boy, did it make me love him. The world is new and scary and wrecked but there’s a guy who you just met willing to die for you, willing to do anything for you to get your son back and willing to stick around long after that.

MGSV really is *so* misogynistic it is honestly hard to believe. It has ONE named female character, just one. And holy shit, the things they make that single woman do.

I could just link to the introduction of the SKULL snipers from Mission 28 Code Talker but even that I feel is so unbelievable to see with your own eyes that it would exit the mind as soon as it stopped playing.

Literally every criticism made during that era toward's this game is accurate. Every single one.

It might legit be the WORST example of "male gaze," literally literally ever. Out of everything.

If MGSV had outright no women in it whatsoever it would be better than what this is.

The cutscene for when Big Boss comes to Mother Base after not showering was what sealed it for me.

And the fact that there were people back then who thought they could defend this perhaps makes it even more deranged.

What mod was causing issues?

It was the Biomes! mods, they got updated and needed a new mod to continue to run properly. I fixed 'em up using the RimPy mod/application, which I'd never used before. It was a bit intimidating at first, but once I'd started I got the hang of it pretty quickly. And now everything works again! Hooray!

All I want is a computer that doesn't lag on community lots

#playtesting my own community lots is nearly impossible 😭 #no cc in my game and 5 mods - two of which were just TOOL and Better Build Buy like it should not lag this bad #It's my laptop and I know that. But it's just so irritating #I wish sometimes that I had a different hobby but this game IS my biggest hobby. I love the sims and I love playing #I would have gameplay posts out the ass if my computer loaded community lots and large households without lagging severely #but as it is now it isn't even enjoyable to play #I just build and dress up sims that I can't even play with #and the games are already expensive as is but then you need a great - ultimately expensive - operating system to play them on. ...so sadly I'm back in the Bethesda Caves....again...[angrily] chasing shadows and modding FO4... So far things work...but knowing how that game is...*sigh*

Anyway main thing is I've been really into overgrowth/forest environment mods lately for that game and I decided to take my old one out since it was giving me so much trouble last time and try another, but there's another out there that's actually more overgrowth AND trees than just...trees.

But it's still in beta and requires so much reading (reading the process to get it in the game ain't the problem btw) that I decided to just sit in the discord, read, and wait.

The one I have now should suffice with the theme of the game I got going so far but yeah...for a while I got tired of the Scorched Apocalypse look cos seriously that's been over done for games/stories that start like...200+ years (basically Post Post Apocalypse) after the Post Apoc started and like...I'd like to think that nature is a LOT more resilient than we'd like to write about in stories sometimes so having a mod that reflects that...ish...not perfect or scientifically accurate, but enough to where like...it gets the point across that you're in a world that's been through a lot worse nature wise and is now "healing"...even if that healing is just...Not Good for your chances of survival in said Post Post Apocalyptic Story.
