werewolf lore drop ahead!!

although werewolves are classified as a shifter-type monster (same as Horangi or the cockatrice) they're actually unique in a hidden way. Horangi is a hybrid whose lineology originates from the first pureblood haetaes, which had zero human in them. In comparison, werewolves originated AS a human-wolf monster, which results in an interesting relationship between the human and shifted 'full-wolf' form.

While Horangi is the same in his human and haetae form, Soap juggles two souls in one body - one belonging to human side, and the other to his wolf. They are both still implicitly him - the souls run parallel with one another throughout his life - but being a werewolf is very much like maintaining a life-long partnership. Soap and his wolf are a great example of a success story, but some werewolves have difficult relationships with their wolf, resulting in only transforming during full moons when they have to.

In some ways, Soap is perfect in the military's eyes as he has a strong connection with his wolf, and happens to come from a long line of larger-than-average specimens (even though he doesn't care too much about his genealogy, preferring to call himself a mongrel breed). In other ways, he's also a nightmare, because his wolf exemplifies the worst in his rebellious streak, featuring recklessness, fickleness towards authority and an extremely low tolerance for boredom.

A man who works out but isn't afraid to eat... Ghost has never been one to pass up a meal, he was raised not knowing where his next one was coming from so he takes the opportunity to eat when it's presented to him. Back when Scar was first picking up his book of shadows, his patron told him a tale. A tale, to be specific, about his tarot deck.

He’s under no illusion that the black and gilded silver lines were a simple coincidence, a simple, pristine find in a back alley thrift shop. They called to him, and they were his.

The Watcher’s Guidance, the box read.

And Aphrodite started sending him dreams that night.

It started with the lovers, as tales most often do with Aphrodite involved. Or, more accurately, it started with the Fool. He walks alone in a desert, a place where life refused to grow, a place only loved by the heat and the sun, and he loves it. He loved so strongly that his blood bloomed plants and opportunity, spilt by those who wanted to seize the desert from him. But despite the cuts and thorns spilt from his love, the desert is not one to love back.

He falls, one night, down the mountain he’s settled himself on, and he lies hung on stone. The desert will fall without his protection, and his enemies will be happy to tear the beautiful place to pieces.

But instead, the Moon is the one who decides to love.

And he then knows it’s not his blood that the desert wants.

His skin tints silver with the Moon’s light, his eyes turn red as they restore him with magic in his veins and a gentle craving for the hearts of those who have wronged him.

Somewhere along the line, between magma and gunpowder, he starts dedicating the blood spilt to the Moon instead of the land kissed by the sun.

And when he’s finally killed, because there was no way for him to go peacefully, the Moon brings him up so they’re together forever.

He knows that the story’s told with rose tinted glasses, and that if it were told by any other deity, it’d be a story of blood and villainy rather than one of devotion, even more so when looking at the tarot meanings. But, well, he is a love wizard. Maybe he can spin the story a third time, with a happier resolution.

He tries not to think about how, a week later, when he dreamt of the Fool-turned-Magician falling from the sky, how similar they looked to his reflection.

Gaz eventually being convinced to do vlogs.

His first one is "Moving In Together" and it's literally just a cute/funny video taken from highlights of his stream where he and Alex unpack a bunch of boxes while answering questions from his chat. (the compilation videos go hard after this stream/video goes live) *there's one question during this where someone asks Alex if he's missing his leg because he sold it to help Gaz's career and he just beams at the joke while Gaz screams into his hands*

This stream/video was so popular Alex suggests they make an entire channel dedicated to doing streams like that again/playing games just the two of them/a day in the life type super duper cute shit *there's one clip where they start slow-dancing cause they're listening to a playlist put together by the chat and a slow song comes up. There's so many music video-esque compilations where there's a love song/dedicated-to-this-one-person-for-the-rest-of-my-life songs play to a bunch of their cute moments with the slow dancing in the kitchen being the refrain*

He does eventually post a vlog style video but it's just random bits of things he recorded while at a big gathering over the Christmas holidays with everyone. There's a few ways viewers piece together who is who: Soap because he's the only Scot, and they're always yelling his name in some fashion, Dylan (Gaz's friend) is also easily picked out, Nik once again due to his accent, and eventually everyone catches on with Price *comments go crazy spamming the time signature Price first appears with "Daddy??"*

What surprises everyone the most is when Ghost finally makes an on-camera appearance. It's a brief video, where he's smiling at Soap and Gaz doing something silly. It's just Simon in that moment: no mask, no black around the eyes, his hair is recently cut and styled, and he's happy

There's a stream once where Gaz makes it clear everything he makes during it go to a Veteran's Help program. It's before the holidays, a very vulnerable time for all veterans, and it's just a quiet stream where he plays a relaxing game and answer questions from chat. He talks about Task Force 141 (briefly and in as little detail as possible), he talks about the helicopter incidents, how he met all the guys he plays with, he talks about he and Soap getting up to no good together, he talks about some of the struggles he had adjusting to civilian life since he didn't know anything else, how much of a help his friends and Alex had been.

It's later revealed the reason he did the stream is for Simon. Because even though it's been years since the incident with his family, it's still something that can hurt badly to this day. How he and Soap were shopping for gifts for Soap's several nieces and nephews. How there was a little toy plane that made the exact same sound Simon's nephew's once did. They even looked the same. How a little blonde boy begged his mum for it. The child looked so familiar it broke one of Simon's barriers.

PTSD isn't curable, it doesn't just disappear over time. There's ways to trigger really bad episodes, and this was just one of those times. It was hard for everyone to see Ghost have such a big setback, but for Gaz? The way they all found ways to help Ghost during it. The way he and the rest of the team, their friends and loved ones, helped reach out to pull Simon back onto his feet. And Gaz wanted other veterans to have that support, especially during the holidays.

He and the 141 (Price, Soap, and Ghost) eventually start doing charity streams just for veterans and the many existing resources for them. They're always wacky, sometimes they're gaming, sometimes they're all in-person doing a fake game show with some of their friends. There's one where they all travel to Mexico to host one with their Las Almas friends to benefit North American veterans' benefits charities.

I don't know, I'm just having so many thoughts about this AU I might just write an entire GazAlex fic based on their lives involving Gaz becoming a big creator.

Werewolf shifter ghost and human soap, the only one that can control that fucking 10ft tall shit brick wall of a wolf

(Not exactly control more like calm down, soaps the only one ghost listens to in his wolf form)

So imagine this big ass wolf standing on its hind legs following around soap like a puppy, scaring the shit out the recruits cause when the fuck did soap get a cryptid for a pet.

In his wolf form it’s harder to control his body language, his tail wags like a fucking moter anytime soap is near him. When he hears soap nearby his ears perk up. And whenever soap leaves, ghost looks like a sad puppy, ears drooped and head hanging low. It’s comical how expressive ghost is in his wolf form. He does it all the time and can’t help it but he’ll bite your head off if you bring attention to it

He gets hungrier in his wolf form. Having to sustain such a big body is difficult for even someone like ghost. Luckily, price let’s him go hunting whenever he wishes, mostly as a ‘thank you’ and as compensation cause it hurts ghost to transform. The pain is mild now but it used to hurt like a bitch.

If you ever catch soap calling ghost big boy in his wolf form then keep it to yourself, they’re enjoying themselves

Ghost is extremely clingy in his wolf form, and sometimes he forgets he’s 10 ft tall when he’s trying to lay on soap. He is not a lap dog but he likes to think he is when snuggling up to soap. And he puts his whole body weight on the other which knocks the wind out of soap

Soap struggling to breath: h-hey big guy, get off me please? You can lay on me all you want in your human form when we get back on base! You’re literally 10 ft tall and the size of a truck baby please-

Ghost didn’t answer and there wasn’t any sign that ghost was even listening. Only thing soap felt was a long wet strip of ghosts tongue move along his face. It left him shivering under the wolf. As well as soap could since there was a brick wall of a wolf shifter putting his entire weight on him

Ghost would whine but ultimately get off and then rest his head on soaps lap, probably waiting for some well deserved pets. Soap of course gives him pets and scritches cause he can’t deny his big guy.
