Death end re;Quest CodeZ launches September 19 in Japan

Death end re;Quest CodeZ, formerly known as Death end re;Quest Code:Zion, will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch on September 19 in Japan for 8,580 yen, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals. It will also be available in 10,780 yen and 16,280 yen limited editions.
Death end re;Quest CodeZ is a roguelike RPG with Shiren the Wanderer-like 3D dungeons. It features a brand-new story in which all the all-stars from the series appear, and over 100 Death Ends. New character Sayaka Hiwatari is voiced by Yoshino Aoyama.
As a CERO Z-rated game, Death end re;Quest CodeZ has a significantly higher level of brutality. Scenes like bones breaking, flesh tearing, and necks twisting are vividly depicted with realistic sound effects.
An official reveal for Death end re;Quest CodeZ is planned for later today.

I believe I have found the whereabouts of the child you requested I look into. It appears they were placed within the Ansburg Circle where they remained until relatively recently. They were last seen traveling alongside a tranquil near the outskirts of Wycome, after which the trail goes cold. It was reported to me that they stuck out but had gone unharmed. The red hair is a dead giveaway to any Marcher noble regarding the blood line, however.
I will keep an eye out for any additional sightings.

And lots of it this past few weeks! I've dividing my time between developing the concept (story, character design, aesthetics) and rewriting the slapped-together prototype code into something I can maintain and build upon.

En su nuevo disco, el conjunto cordobés Aquel Trovar reinterpreta instrumentalmente un variado repertorio medieval de los siglos XII a XIV
Antonio Torralba me habla del último trabajo discográfico del grupo...
–Trío instrumental afrontando música medieval, es como una vuelta a los orígenes, la de Cinco Siglos...
–En 2016 creamos Aquel Trovar, pero seguimos trabajando esta línea que era característica de nuestro anterior grupo, Cinco Siglos. A la par empezamos a hacer otros proyectos de música vocal con Delia Agúndez. Nuestros tres primeros discos de esta nueva etapa eran con Delia, pero el anterior a este (Dancerías) volvía a ser solo instrumental. Llevábamos madurando hacer algo con repertorio nuevo. Se presentó la oportunidad este verano y decidimos grabarlo…
–Pero Dancerías no era un disco medieval…
–No. El repertorio de Dancerías empieza justo donde termina el de este nuevo CD.
–¿Y qué hay de nuevo aquí que no hubieran hecho con Cinco Siglos?
–Algunas piezas sí las habíamos grabado con Cinco Siglos, pero en versiones muy esquemáticas. Aquí las desarrollamos un poco más en grupo. Luego hay otras que son por completo nuevas. Y también incorporamos algunos detalles que se han conocido después, como las nuevas hipótesis sobre las estampidas, sobre todo por la reinterpretación que se ha hecho de los textos de Grocheo: ahora se piensa que no era tanto una música para bailar, sino una música meditativa. Con ese nuevo criterio hemos enfocado la 2ª estampida, que la hacemos muy larga, que no es la forma más habitual de escucharla. Nos apetecía incorporar esos nuevos criterios.

–La segunda mitad del disco es casi entera polifónica...
–Sí, queríamos también indagar en las piezas vocales, pero en aquellas que tiene un claro sentido hacerlas instrumentalmente, porque se basan en tenores que circularon y fueron utilizados instrumentalmente, como la pieza del Codez Faenza o el Czaldy Waldy, por ejemplo. La muerte de Miguel Hidalgo [antiguo compañero del grupo] nos movió afectivamente a recordar nuestra primera época de Cinco Siglos, en que pensábamos que la música instrumental conservada de la Edad Media era sólo una parte de lo que se hacía y nos llevaba no a tocar simplemente una pieza vocal con instrumentos, sino a generar todo un estilo interpretativo a partir de ahí, creando algo nuevo, imaginando cómo podían haber sido usadas esas melodías: por ejemplo, fabricándoles una segunda parte danzable, un poco al estilo de piezas instrumentales conservadas que sabemos que usaban ese procedimiento, tocando las piezas vocales pero no tal cual, sino reelaborándolas. A Miguel, a quien dedicamos este disco, le gustaba mucho ese trabajo.
–No sólo la música medieval, sino la música antigua en general ha evolucionado interpretativamente en este sentido en las últimas décadas: hay repertorios que ya no se entienden sin la glosa personal…
–Cierto, cierto, así es. Hay por ejemplo una obra de Machaut que siempre nos ha gustado mucho, Comme qu’a moy. Con Cinco Siglos la grabamos con una simple flauta. Aquí la hacemos en grupo. Se sabe que el tema es literalmente igual que una canción de tejedora, Belle doette, siglo y medio o dos siglos anterior. Los materiales melódicos circulaban continuamente. Sin ir más lejos, en las cantigas cada vez se descubren más fuentes. Desde que se utiliza la informática todos esos descubrimientos se han multiplicado. Los musicólogos antiguos, tipo Anglès, que tenían en su cabeza tantísimas cosas, descubrían algunas, pero a un ritmo muchísimo más lento. No es solo que hoy se descubran algunas piezas literales, sino fragmentos, pasajes, trozos insertos en otras piezas. La del Codex Faenza que hacemos en el CD hasta hace nada no tenía título, porque no se sabía de donde venía. Ahora ya sí, es Souvent mes pas, su tenor se ha encontrado troceado ya en multitud de fuentes. Abarcamos desde finales del siglo XII al siglo XV, pero es que los músicos daban vuelta a las melodías durante mucho tiempo. Ese caso de Machaut es sorprendente, aunque es verdad que quizá la parte más bonita de la obra es la que él inventa, la de la segunda parte. Los músicos instrumentales usaban todo este material circulante para tocarlo y glosarlo. Es lo que intentamos hacer.

–Siguen publicando sus grabaciones en unos disco-libros de gran atractivo. ¿Qué sentido tiene seguir haciendo discos?
–Seguir grabando tiene todo su sentido, pues es la manera de darle forma a un proyecto de concierto, y además sigue habiendo oyentes. Este disco que aún no se ha presentado tiene 300 oyentes en la última semana. En cuanto a la publicación física, por un lado, los costes de producción han bajado, sobre todo cuando lo haces todo artesanalmente como nosotros. Pero lo hacemos porque, aunque minoritario, aún queda público para el disco, un público al que le gusta: las plataformas más populares no dan la calidad del CD y luego está el libreto, al amante del disco siempre le ha gustado la información, el texto, la foto… Salvo algunas plataformas que también empiezan a venderlo ya, en digital hallar eso es más raro. De todos modos, como han caído las tiendas de discos, ahora los vendemos fundamentalmente en librerías y algunos en los conciertos. Aunque mucha gente ya no tiene reproductores de CD, porque si se le rompe no lo renueva, sí que hay todavía quien conserva ese gusto por el producto. Aparte de que no acaba de caer el CD. Yo recuerdo que hice una apuesta con un amigo, que decía que ya no habría discos en El Corte Inglés en 2015. La perdió. Me pasé el otro día, y todavía se encuentran.
–Los textos del libro son suyos y están muy cuidados...
–Nos estimula el hecho de que el libreto tenga un contenido humanista, que cubra esa incultura musical que hay entre la gente culta. Gente tan amante de la literatura, de la pintura..., pero que le dices Monteverdi y es incapaz de ponerlo en su época. Gente incapaz de salir de la música de consumo. Ya sé que eso tendría que ser tarea de la educación, de los colegios, pero nos gusta poder hacer algo en ese sentido.

–¿Cómo es la vida de un grupo como Aquel Trovar en 2023?
–Cada vez hay más grupos. Es verdad que también hay más festivales, pero organizados muchas veces por músicos que los utilizan como plataformas para ellos y sus amigos, que les devuelven el favor. El número de festivales no ha crecido proporcionalmente al número de grupos. Pero no nos va mal. Tenemos conciertos suficientes como para que el grupo se mantenga, para poder seguir teniendo proyectos. Son pocos conciertos (12-14 al año estamos haciendo), pero esos conciertos nos estimulan a seguir estudiando e investigando, y también a grabar. Este año hemos hecho en Italia unas Cantigas de amigo de Martín Codax enfocadas como un todo: queríamos sacarles verdadero partido, con recurrencias musicales y literarias, convertir 20 minutos de música en una hora, pero con sentido. Lo hicimos, nos gustó la idea, y ahora lo queremos grabar. Es como decir: vamos a pasar ese trabajo a limpio con un nivel alto de autoexigencia. Muchas veces se dice que el disco sirve como tarjeta de presentación, pero yo creo que ya ni eso. La función esencial del disco para mí es el grado de autoexigencia que te genera, que es algo que no te da ni siquiera el concierto, porque el concierto se pasa y se olvida, y esa autoexigencia te hace mejorar mucho. Además de que sirve para situarte en el contexto del resto de colegas, que vean lo que haces, eso también.
