I feel like I don't give exhaustion whump enough credit.
Whumpees still awake and aware of their surroundings, but can't do anything about it. They could be drained from lack of sleep, fighting back too hard for too long, running for hours and are in danger if they stop.
When they finally get to rest, they don't move at all; not even to adjust if they've crumbled to a heap on the floor

Give me Caretaker bridal carrying a weak Whumpee who is desperately trying to stay conscious…Whumpees arms are around Caretakers neck and their head is bobbing up and down against Caretakers chest.
And then suddenly, all at once, Caretaker notices Whumpee somehow feels heavier. Caretaker looks down at Whumpee just as Whumpee’s arms fall limp and their head flops backwards. And Caretaker has to drop to the ground both out of shock and panic as well as to check that their precious cargo is still breathing and to recollect Whumpees deadweight limbs to their chest before they stand back up

A Whumpee protects Caretaker from a threat by using all of their magic at once. All of them powerful. When the threat is gone, Whumpee collapses in Caretaker's arms, much to Caretaker's shock and worry.
Whumpee has been out for a few days, and when they wake up, they see Caretaker, asleep in the chair next to Whumpee's bed, holding their hand.

Merry Whumpmas 2023 Day 18: Fainting
TW: fainting
Caretaker eyed Whumpee worriedly as they smacked into the table for the fifth time that day. They’d been clumsier than usual, their complexion more pale, and every so often, they’d press their hand to their forehead in sudden pain. But when Caretaker asked them if they were alright, Whumpee only smiled and shook their head as if nothing was wrong.
But Caretaker knew Whumpee too well.
“Why the hell do you keep following me around?” Whumpee finally demanded. Caretaker had just carried a laundry basket into the living room, where they were sitting and reading.
Caretaker glanced up at them innocently. “Following you around?”
“Literally every time I change rooms, there you are, doing something or other in the same room! Even if I go to the bathroom, you’re waiting outside. What’s your deal?”
Dropping the laundry basket onto the ground, Caretaker plopped onto the couch and pulled out a gray shirt. “Can a simple ‘I’m worried about you’ suffice?”
“I told you: I’m fine!” Whumpee snapped. “I don’t need you fussing over me like a mother hen!”
“Are you sure…?” Caretaker questioned as they finished folding the gray shirt and set it aside. “Because you’ve been acting off all day….”
Anger and annoyance flashed on Whumpee’s face. “Fine! You know what, I have been feeling off!” They jumped to their feet, their book shoved aside. “And it’s nothing, because I’m just tired. That’s all! There, are you ha—”
A strange look crossed their face, and they staggered, hands thrown out for balance. “I…” they mumbled, eyes rollling up in their head, “I…”
Caretaker jumped up, the pair of jeans forgotten, and sprinted to them as their knees buckled underneath their weight. They barely managed to catch Whumpee before their head slammed into the hard edge of their chair.
“Whumpee?”
Caretaker carefully lowered them to the ground, trying not to panic. Sure, they’d been worried about Whumpee’s health, but they hadn’t expected anything like this! Thankfully, Whumpee was still breathing, and after a few clumsy attempts, Caretaker managed to find their pulse.
Releasing a long, slow breath, Caretaker rocked back on their heels. They couldn’t think of anything else they’d need to do for someone who’d fainted, but then again, they'd never been in this situation before now. Probably best to wait until Whumpee woke up.
If they woke up.

Sudden Collapse *Team Leader Edition*
Come on, pull yourself together.
Leader leaned his hands on the table, squinting at the map sprawled across it and blinked a few times as it blurred in and out of focus.
"Leader? You were saying..?" Teammate Two prompted.
"Right," he started again, ignoring how the room span as he lifted his hands from the table. "So if we plant charges on...on the..." his voice trailed off, his thoughts slipping through his mind like sand. He dug his nails into his palms, willing himself to concentrate.
"You alright, boss?" Teammate One asked, their brow creased as they stepped closer.
"Fine," he dismissed as the team exchanged confused and concerned glances.
Just wanting to get through the briefing, Leader took a slow, deliberate breath before continuing. "If we plant charges on the w...west generator, that should... should buy us- enough t-time to... to..." Leader stumbled through his words, his sluggish mind unable to navigate the fragmented thoughts as another wave of nausea rolled over him.
He vaguely registered a muffled shout from Medic.
"'m fine," he slurred, reaching out for something to stabilize himself as his body swayed dangerously. He hadn't even realized he was falling until his head slammed against the floor.
"-oss? Boss!"

Random whumpy fainting stuff
From a person who passes out almost daily from dehydration and POTS
Fainting can be dramatic (eyes rolling back, falling to the floor, etc), but it can also be subtle sometimes. Even standing up, your whumpee could just sway in place a bit, eyes going unfocused and dilated. Maybe those around them grow concerned as they realize whumpee is unresponsive, before moving to touch them, shake their shoulder, and watching with horror as whumpee tips over and slumps to the floor.
When your whumpee is coming to, there’s often a few seconds where they are aware of and can understand everything around them, but are unable to move or talk. Just laying there, maybe mumbling something quietly or waving a hand at most, body still coming back online.
Whumpee catching themself passing out, deliberately breathing slow and deep in an attempt to not faint, even as they slowly feel their thoughts leaving them. The darkness fuzzing in on the corners of their vision and masking their surroundings, and the last, frustrated thought of “well, shit” as they sink to the ground, breathing exercises having failed them.
Alternatively, there can also be a few seconds after (before??) coming to when your whumpee isn’t cognizant of what is happening, but it appears like they are. They may sit up, even respond to a basic question, and then blink awake, completely disoriented at already being upright and moving.
Everyone around them freaking out, disorienting whumpee even further as they wake up to the concerned voices and roaming hands and prodding and questions. Whumpee attempting to brush everyone off, appease everyone, to just get away as they maybe stagger to their feet or curl into a ball.

Whumptober #21
Trope of the day: “Don’t move.”
_
Whumpee doesn't understand why the team looks at them in horror. The pain hasn't even reached their brain yet, their body too full of adrenaline to realise what is going on. Only when their head feels dizzy, whumpee realises something is going on.
Something bad.
Almost as fast as they collapse to the floor, caretaker's by their side, the rest of the team following. Whumpee sees blood on caretaker's hands as they check their body and finally realises that it must be really bad. They hear the others talk, but their words don't make it to their brain.
A second ago, everything was fine, now whumpee has problems keeping their eyes open. "Eyes on me, kid," caretaker says with a stern voice, that kind of voice they only use when things are looking pretty rough. Whumpee wants to ask what is going on, their body in pain as they move their arms and try to gather strength.
“Don't move.” Caretaker's voice is low, but something doesn't seem right. Whumpee wants to protest, but a hand lands on their shoulder and squeezes it softly. “Don't move, kid. This will hurt.”

We all know the classic “collapsing into someone’s arms”
But what if Whumpee knows they’re about to faint
Whumpee quickly grabs onto Caretaker’s arm to try to steady themself
Caretaker holds Whumpee and guides them to sit/lie down
Whumpee shakily tells Caretaker “I need to sit down…please”
Whumpee stumbles to their bed trying to make it in time
Caretaker notices the signs and gently pulls Whumpee into a hug
Caretaker is already holding Whumpee and reassures them that they’re safe and they won’t let them fall

After painting and renovating my basement for hours... and I mean hours... without food or water, enjoy this prompt:
Whumpee so focused on a task that they don't realize they are slowly creating a ticking time bomb for a crisis. Working themselves to the bone and not taking a break to nurture their breaking mind and body. Their work morphing from carefulness and fine tuning to uncaring and sloppy.
Caretaker coming in to see Whumpee slumped over or collapsed on the floor, scared out of their mind that someone hurt Whumpee. Wait until they find out that Whumpee caused it to themselves.

I love it when whumpee shows up at caretakers doorstep so exhausted they pass out as soon as they know they're safe. Now caretaker sits by their bedside trying to guess all the worst case things that could have happened until whumpee wakes up and explains themselves.

When A is woken up in the middle of the night and at first they’re not sure why. They rub their eyes and look around blearily; all looks in order. But damn they’re hot. And as soon as that thought appears, they realize with a start it’s coming from next to them - and they look down in horror at B, laying curled into their side. B is absolutely radiating heat - so much so that A is sweaty just from being pressed against them, though no where near as drenched as B. B is shaking and whimpering pathetically, and looks pale even in the low light of the moon, with bright red spots high on their cheeks. A realizes they must not have been feeling well for a while and not mentioned anything, because with a fever like this there’s no way B didn’t go to bed feeling terribly unwell. And A hadn’t noticed.
A tries to wake B up gently, knowing they need to take their temperature and get them some water and meds, but after a few gentle hair strokes and rubbing of B’s arm, they realize B isn’t rousing at all. And if anything their face seems more pained and frightened than it had a minute ago. A starts getting frantic, shaking B harder and calling their name in a panic. They see B’s eyes flutter beneath the lids briefly, then stop as their head dropped even more towards the bed. A’s stomach drops when they realize their aren’t able to rouse B at all. Uh oh.

We all like Whumpees who are sick/overworked, now get ready for:
Whumpees who KNEW they were sick/overworked and tried to tell their Team Leader, but Leader brushed it off and told them to go back to work.
Perhaps the team was short staffed, and Team Leader needed Whumpee badly. Or maybe the team had an important mission, and they need all the manpower for it, therefore Whumpee couldn't afford to take even one day off for rest.
It wasn't until Whumpee collapsed in the middle of a mission due to being pushed too far. And they needed to be rushed to the infirmary/sick bay.
Cue guilt from Team Leader. If they at least gave Whumpee a day off instead of pushing them that hard...

Back to the classics
Trussed up…
Whumpee bound to a chair
Hung from the ceiling
In the back seat of a car with their hands bound behind their back
Collared/manacled and chained to wall/floor
Bag over head and thrown in the back of a van
Busted up…
Split lip
Black eye
Bruised/cracked rib
Cut over eyebrow
Hit in the head and knocked out
Kicked while they’re down
Choked/strangled
Drugged/sedated
Crying out…
Whimpering
Grunting
Fearful squeal
Sharp intake of breath
Surprised yelp
Hissing
On the mend…
Cringing
Waking up groggy
White gauze
Treated in the field
Stiffening as their injuries are tended
With whumper…
Flinching
Whumpee begging for mercy
Lunging at Whumper with a snarl
Throwing back jokes and insults
Avoiding eye contact
With caretaker…
Whumpee leaning into caretaker’s touch
Caretaker chiding them for being so reckless
Caretaker reassuring whumpee that they’ll be alright
Caretaker carrying whumpee to safety
Collapsing into caretaker’s arms
Waking up with a worried caretaker beside their bed
Long term…
Nightmares
Anxiety attacks
Drug/alcohol abuse
Hypersensitivity
