This list is long, and contains spoilers!
Summary: 10 years ago, the Pandora Box was found on Mars. On Earth, it created walls that divided Japan into three, and brought the Smash, unidentified life forms that attack people. The government requests prodigy physicist, Sento Kiryuu’s, help in deciphering the Pandora Box and the Smash, but there is one mystery not even Sento can solve: his own past. There is one man who holds the key to Sento’s memories: a prison escapee, Banjou Ryuuga, who adamantly denies committing the murder he is accused of. Sento transforms into Kamen Rider Build in order to uncover the mystery surrounding the Pandora Box, the Smash, and his amnesia.
Whump themes include: human experimentation, poison, amnesia, mind control, passing out, power exhaustion, magical whump...
The Whumpees:
Kiryuu Sento - a genius scientist with no memories of his past. With a strong sense of justice, he relies on his intellect, but makes bad decisions when under any emotional distress. He has a selflessness and sense of duty which causes him to shoulder all of his emotions alone in order to avoid involving others and potentially getting them hurt.
Banjou Ryuuga - incredibly strong, brash and emotional, Ryuuga is a hot-headed and impulsive man. Beneath his tough exterior is an honest, selfless and honourable individual and is extremely protective to those who he trusts. He will often put himself in harm’s way, willing to use himself as a shield to protect others, particularly Sento.
Sawatari Kazumi - nicknamed “Kazumin”, his demeanour alternates between calm and composed to ruthless and hysterical, depending on whether he's fighting or not. He is fiercely protective of his friends but does not show it, preferring to pretend not to care as an act to keep them safe.

Thoughts:
The long awaited Build list! Thank you for your patience with this one, as it is a long one as you can see! Build is one of my top three favourite Kamen Riders, I love it so much. The way all of the characters develop through the show, the way they begin to rely and depend on each other, and the bond that they build over time is so great and makes for some amazing whump/protection scenes!
Sento is someone who holds a lot of guilt for things he couldn’t control, and will shoulder that guilt and responsibility alone, preferring to suffer in silence than burden somebody else. Coupled with his amnesia, and flashbacks of his human experimentation, this can lead to a lot of emotional turmoil for him, and he will push his body to the limit in an effort to “redeem” his past actions that were out of his control. Over time, as he bonds with his teammates, they know to keep an extra eye on him to look after him as they learn more about his personality of keeping things to himself. They worry about him a lot, especially Ryuuga.
Ryuuga is very hot headed, and what he lacks in brains he definitely makes up for in brawns. He is often times very protective of his teammates, Sento in particular, and will put himself in harms way, relying on his strength, if it means saving somebody else. Traumatised from the death of his girlfriend, he will do anything to make sure nobody he loves dies in front of him again. This can lead him to pushing his body way beyond its capacity, leading him to pass out from exhaustion fairly often.
Kazumin, my absolute favourite little man, is someone who tries to appear strong for the sake of others. He will sacrifice his own comfort, his own heart, his body and soul, to protect those who he loves. He goes through so much trauma in this show, watching one by one as his friends who he deems his family die in front of him. He has seen the cost of war, and will do anything to end it. Originally an enemy of Sento and Ryuuga, he becomes one of their closest allies in the fight to defeat Evolt, and the team grow very fond of him. They look out for him closely, knowing that everyone else he knows has died and he no longer feels like he has anyone left, which can lead him to treat his life as disposable if it means stopping the war and any more deaths.
An amazing show, I rewatch this one quite regularly! I have another list coming for this show, which is a sub list for the Three Crows, and it will be out tomorrow! As always, most whumpy eps/my fav eps are in bold as this is another very long list! I also tried a slightly different format and I think it looks better and easier to follow, what do you think?
See you next time!

Important vocab note
Henshin/de-henshin: the word 変身 (henshin) has been used in this list and it refers to the character’s transformation/powers. When I have used de-henshin, this refers to a character who has been knocked out of their transformation, or is unable to use their powers. This could be due to power strain etc. It was getting hard for me to be precise as I couldn’t find a suitable single word in English, as in English it was requiring a lot more long winded explanation. Hope this makes sense as a substitution for the sake of precision for the list.
