today i built my very own computer for the first time! I'm going to call her Nausicaa because she's basically a wind tunnel. she boots and bios detects everything, but tomorrow i still need to format drives, install OSes, set up the monitor, pick some nice colours for the rgb, etc etc. - not to mention take some better photos in daylight...
but you guys... I'm already so happy that she works! this is the first time I've ever had a really high end computer and i can't wait to see what she can do...
for fans of cryptic letters and numbers:
amd 7950X3D cpu, 4070Ti gpu, b650e-i mini-ITX mobo, fractal torrent nano case, the giant cpu cooler is a "deepcool assassin", she has 64gb of ddr5 ram, 4tb of ssd capacity (windows and linux each get 2tb), plus 8tb of spinning backup storage. the monitor is a 1440p ultrawide 144Hz VA HDR monitor by Dell. here's a full parts list.

Fuck, ok I feel bad for the post spam, but my brain vibrates at a frequency previously thought impossible sometimes, ok?
So I've been researching pc building this weekend, and holy shit I really like it? I've even picked out all the parts I'd need to build a new pc (sense that is why I started looking into pc building in the first place). Its so much more "stick it in the right slot" than I thought and MMM I love intuitive construction.
Sadly, though, I've gotten so into it I want to see other builds! See other people do their process! But ever video I find of someone putting together a beautiful computer, its just subtitles and music, and while I can sometimes watch, I'd enjoy something I can watch and listen to when drawing.
So if any one has any advice to beginner builders or any suggestions of fun aesthetic computer building videos without just subtitles and music, please sent them over and I'll give you a little kiss on the cheek.

today i completely finished my pc, and it looks so lovely! i’m so proud of it and how it turned out. temps are great and she runs like a dream. i added a photo of it to the post, and i think i’ll start to add photos to all my posts to just make my profile less boring! besides that, i drank with my roomies and one of my friends, and that’s all.
3 things i’m grateful for:
our liquor collection.
friends.
my decorating skills.
— love, lisa.

Every day, the orctop gets worse and worse. The screen is now held together by duct tape. I don't know what to do now except make it a case.
