Volkswagen Type 2 Splitscreen Articulated Camper, 1963 (2023). A restomod VW created from two Type 2 models is for sale in the UK. The front "truck" is powered by an Audi S3 5-cylinder turbocharged engine. The rear camper section has a double bed and a period Westfalia-style elevating roof and roof rack. Bidding is currently at £23,500 but the reserve has not been met, the auction has 3 plus days to run.
Geparda, 2024. This is not, as far as I can tell, an April Fool's joke. In Germany it is possible to start driving from the age of 16 but young drivers face limits in the size and power of cars they can use until they turn 18. Step forward German company Geparda who are converting the now discontinued VW Up! by fitting very narrow track rear wheels (it's not a 3-wheeler) and de-tuning the engine to 20hp. The company claims to have already delivered cars, which cost €20,000. Geparda is German for "cheetah"
