its "think of the children" and "let kids be kids" but they won't even let a 9 year old pretend to be a cat without causing a moral panic. they won't let little girls wear anything that might show their fucking shoulders in school and teach them that their bodies are inherently sexual and they should be ashamed of it. they won't even let a five year old boy cry without making fun of him for it. nor will they condemn it if an adult woman pursues a teenage boy, so long as it's straight. "protect children" my ass.

After watching Shiny Happy People (the Amazon docuseries on the Duggars) I am once again struck by the absolute gall of conservatives to accuse gay and trans people of being "groomers" when one of the largest christian conservative organizations in the country is essentially devoted entirely to producing multiple generations of girls who will grow up to be grooming victims and boys who will grow up to be incestuous pedophiles like good fucking lord every accusation truly is a confession

the wild thing about all the trouble urbanspook is in (deserved) is that no one is saying DONT talk about sa in internet horror just to do it well.
lacey's games was such a real depiction of csa and still respectful towards victims. like it can be done. the fact is that urbanspook doesn't care to do it.
im just happy to see this guy getting his ass whopped tbh. what a creep.

So lot of shit to take in from that.
But legitimately, how in the mother of fuck does your dialogue coach have paintings and a stack of letters from a serial child rapist and killer next to his fucking bed and nothing happens.
He was fucking proudly showing it to child actors and other people at a party, were there literally zero background checks or code of conduct at that fucking place?

i’m so fucking stupid about shihoann and i’m sad it’s usually a background ship cause the power you could give these fucking lesbians is unreal
these are two CSA survivors, traumatized by one man who tried to use their bond for his own sick purposes, trying to divide them, to make them keep his secrets to protect each other.
and then he's gone. and they heal together. ann helps shiho through her physical therapy. they change together, mourn the people they used to be together. refusing to let kamoshida tear them apart any more, for their pain to separate them, they remain stubbornly together.
it's fucking beautiful, that they could find love together in the face of cruelty, that they love as an act of joy, love as an act of defiance, love in the face of guilt and invasion and pain. it is queer love between two abused girls who find solace and revenge in being together
it is exactly as radical as persona 5 likes to pretend it is.
ok whatever im done waxing poetic. more yuri...... NOW

Plural culture is having minor sexual alters due to trauma and being scared to tell people about them and being in a minor body with sexual alters :(
Bonus points when one of said minor sexual alters wants to experience said sexual trauma again but worse for some reason 😭
(we're trying not to be detailed about it because its a triggering topic for many!)
Wanting to expirence trauma again but "worse" is a way the brain tries to process and cope with things sometimes
I often put myself in situations that I know will traumatize or hurt me, because I'm so used to being in unsafe environments that when I'm in a safe and stable one, it feels wrong and I need to "fix" it
For me I found watching horror movies or scrolling through triggering tags helps me avoid actually retraumatizing me and my system
While the second option isn't the greatest, it's a placeholder until I can go back to therapy and find a better way to cope
Maybe you can try finding things like that to help
I'm sorry you're experiencing this, and that you expirenced what caused this to happen
There's no reason to feel shame for how you process trauma, just focus on healing one step at a time and don't be upset when you stumble
You have the time to heal, and you did nothing wrong and don't deserve to feel like you did

I know I’ve made comics about these situations before but since the show ended and I have a better grasp on the characters I felt like I had to draw out some feelings I was having re: Hunter postcanon dealing with trauma and healing and physical touch so ! Here’s this. Darius is such a good dad and I love him so much.

Thinking about how parents usually say "don't get into a stranger's car" and how the implocation is that they are going to kidnap you, kill you or assault you (or everything). And Akio uses his car for abuse, either doing it there or driving the victim to the place where the abuse is going to happen. In some cases, even though he is a stranger, the victims know he exists and is an authority in the school. In others, he grooms them and gets them to trust him, so he makes sure that the warning no longer applies to him.
His power as an adult and how, with his car, he has more freedom than the kids. He can go wherever he wants. He uses the car as a private space where he doesn't need to respond for his actions. And if the kids want to go somewhere that is not inside Ohtori, they need him to take them. They have to get into his car to be able to grasp a little freedom.
This just makes me want to read more about youth liberation and how young people are a class in contradiction with adults.

whenever people go off against youth liberation with the "then how would we stop adults from having sex with kids???" supposed checkmate, i'm just like. this only works if you're operating from a worldview where there are scads of children clamoring to have sex with adults who are only prevented by adults being able to control them. this doesn't seem correct to me. in fact, it actually seems a lot like the worldview child molesters use to justify sexually abusing children.
like, children's interest in sex is pretty directly determined by physical capabilities and developmental stages. the average healthy prepubescent child is not interested in sexuality beyond the purely theoretical interest in how pregnancy works, and while it's normal and healthy for them to engage in masturbation, it isn't tied to any mental concept they might have of adult sexuality. a child would not seek out sex with an adult unless they were groomed to do so, and maintaining absolute control over someone/forbidding them bodily autonomy makes them more susceptible to grooming, not less.
i think we should all agree that bodily autonomy includes the right to say "no," and the ability to have others (who might be more capable, physically or emotionally, than you) back you up if someone attempts to violate that "no," correct? controlling someone has nothing to do with supporting and helping to enforce their boundaries, yes? you can help prevent someone from being raped without controlling every aspect of their life? if someone is trying to have sex with a child, there are ways to protect that child that do not involve controlling them?

something something how what I’m really writing against has to do with deerskin and daughter of the forest and all of the rape/assault/molestation survivor fiction I’ve read and how the story structures are locked into these very specific and deeply heteronormative story shapes that dyke literature has always had the antidote to and if I can channel that I am going to write the wildest weirdest story since the faggots and their friends
