I'm imagining Zhao was Jee's neighbor growing up, and his frown lines are the result of him listening to him talk.
poor unfortunate soul jee

[ID: digital drawing of Zhao and Jee from avatar the last airbender de-aged to a young teen (maybe 13 years). A couple days later, Mia and Rory started telling their respective families the news of the baby. First, they went to Rory’s dad Kristopher’s house (where I also had Mia’s mama come over), and they told the two of them, with Mia being like ‘So, you guys are gonna be grandparents! I’m pregnant and it’s a girl.’ Kristopher got emotional over the news of his second grandkid*, and Carla cried as well, Kristopher insisted Mia, Rory, and Carla come in, and he’d make food for them as they talked over and celebrated the news. *Plus, Rory told her baby brother Jacob, and her dad’s pack members, Lily and Wolfgang, as well.

finally had time to get informed about @xiranjayzhao, rebecca f kuang and @neil-gaiman being removed from hugo ballot without explanation and hugos claiming they were 'disqualified' but not being able to say why. there is something about this that i think only i can say so here goes:
i philosophically believe my story SPACE RAPTOR BUTT INVASION deserved its nomination because of my views on art, but i also know my views are rare and extreme. my circumstances were very unique and strange, so consider this: EVEN SPACE RAPTOR BUTT INVASION WAS NOT DISQUALIFIED
look up the circumstances of my nomination if you are unfamiliar. apparently that was NOT enough for a disqualification but some mysterious thing about the work of @xiranjayzhao, rebecca f kuang and @neil-gaiman is?
again i am not saying i should have been disqualified and i could write a dang 50 page thesis on art theory and why i believe in my nomination, but compared against the current situation it says a LOT. i am very disturbed and saddened by the treatment of these authors.

Erlang and Wukong's rivalry runs very deep. There was this ancient poem that said if those two teamed up, they could achieve anything.
Also, there was this old version (I think the first?), of Lotus lantern, where Chenxiang had to fight against them. In this version, he manages to defeat both of them. it's the only record where someone manages to beat Wukong and Erlang although as I said, it's an old version, and it depends how people want to see it. I don't quite remember if it was mentioned if Chexiang merged with the lantern in this version or if the lantern appears in that old version. I believe that one of the reasons why Chenxiang can defeat Erlang is because the lantern is a creation of Nuwa. Then there were more versions of Lotus Lantern and Wukong became Chenxiang's mentor.
By the way, I would give you the link to where I saw the fsyy movie, but I literally had to refresh the page all the time to be able to see it, so I don't think you'll want it.
Greek Mythology: we have over three stories for the same myth and it’s weird and hard to follow every time! Nothing can beat us
Chinese Mythology: Hold my wine.
Funny thing is that you’ll find various different sources saying different things and we can’t revive Wu Cheng’en to ask him what his canon would be. Like the fact that in FSYY (from what I’ve read thus far) Yang Jian is the son of a Prime Minister rather than the Jade Emperor or how in other myths his names range from Li Erlang to Li Bing or Zhao Yu. The most popular version being Yang Jian though.
I remember reading that Chenxiang was taught by SWK, I never heard of the version where he defeats Wukong so that’s interesting. I thought his mother made the lamp too? Super interestingnckdnxk I love learning about myths and other iterations. Was the poem about Erlang and SWK working together from JTTW or some variant like that? Or was it its own poem :0?
oomfie idc so long as i get to see the dang movie i’ve been waiting for 84 years

If I could bother you again. Did those who were not of the gentry were being trained to be an outer disciple, did their family have to pay? Or was their service to the clan considered a balance to the initial investment? I've been creating a fic (in my head) about Wei Wuxian having extended family, specifically on his mother's side, that somehow finds out about him. (Like her parents died in a tragedy far from her father's home and they were told they all perished but she survived somehow and was picked up by BSR) How would that affect his life at Lotus Pier? Like would they have to pay something? Do you think that situation would force YZY to stop with her whippings? If they were a sect that his family clan ran, would they be able to take him from lotus pier or as he was an active cultivator in the sect would it be a process? Like I assume he could stay a Jiang Cultivator even if his family is of a different sect.
Dang I just realized how much I was rambling. If you have any insight, opinions, or just your own creative decisions, would be appreciated! ☺️
Alright, so there are a lot of moving pieces to speculate here. For the first part about money: the sects in mdzs seem to recruit purely from talent, with an emphasis on strengthening the clan members’ cultivation rather than bringing up non-related disciples. Therefore, non-related disciples have to prove themselves by actually bringing things to the table, with some notable examples being: Meng Yao with the Nie, Xue Yang with the Jin, Wen (formerly Zhao) Zhuliu with the Wen, and both Xiao Xingchen and Cangse Sanren who no clan could recruit despite their best efforts. Some outer disciples seem to be recruited due to personal favor, such as Wei Wuxian being taken in or the Jin servant who caught Jin Zixuan’s eye, but none of them are said to pay their way into being accepted as disciples.
Now, what if Wei Wuxian had family that was also a cultivation clan? Well, they would, as his blood relatives, have rights to take Wei Wuxian back, as he is only a ward of the Jiang. If they were a clan of little influence but genuinely cared for Wei Wuxian, they may weigh the decision to have Wei Wuxian stay in Lotus Pier to learn under the Jiang—because that would likely be seen as the best course of action for his cultivation—vs. taking him to get him away from Madam Yu but potentially negatively impacting his cultivation progression. They would not be able to get the whippings to stop because, again, no influence. If they had more influence along with true affection for the child, they’d likely immediately demand Wei Wuxian back, and any debt incurred from being rescued would be weighed against the abuse the child suffered and the role he was made to play in the family (as well as if they know that Jiang Fengmian owed Cangse Sanren a life debt). I personally don’t feel like Wei Wuxian would have any particular attachment to remaining a Jiang disciple if he knew that 1) he had bio family out there that had been looking for him, 2) they would not mistreat him, and 3) they would not forcibly make him cut contact with the Jiang and his former martial family, so he’d probably go willingly with his family. It’s up to you whether you want him to remain a Jiang disciple or not.

Finished all eight episodes and well, that was underwhelming. Here are my main impressions.
Clothing was too clean and looked like it came out of a cosplayer's closet instead of being actual, lived-in clothes (if there's one thing the failed movie did right, it was the clothes)
Zuko was decent
Sokka had an a+ personality but was missing some nuance
The Sokka and Suki meeting was boring and had typical teen romance cliches galore
Appa and Momo were cute
Not sure how I felt about them starting with 100 years ago, and the cut between that time and the present day was jarring, I feel like the title card should've been there instead to break it up. And just the title card, none of that weirdly glowly, oddly-colored narrative with the bending examples and stuff, it looked so odd
If Katara were a spice, she'd be flour, if she were a book, she'd be two books, where the heck was her fire and spunk and generally just. differentiating traits because I didn't see any and it was so boring to watch her
Like honestly! She didn't have her motherly/parental role thing going on, even in a toned-down way, and she was missing her passion, I just. What else is left
Bumi was scary af man
Lots of the compositing was blurry as shit and it was distracting, probably a lot of newbie, abused comp artists with pay cuts given dneg was working on it
Aang revealing himself all mystically with the intense music, then two seconds later the music stops and he slides down on the ice with a thump made me lol, and I don't think that was the intended reaction
They're in the arctic and you can't see anyone's breath, why is that, tell me
Suki removes her makeup in like 2.4 seconds without missing a single bit of it, teach me your ways gurll
Momo is actually cute and not a demon, praise raava
The fire nation armor is pretty brutal, the shoulder pads are like obvious cardboard that isn't even trying to look like metal (I still can't really tell if it's supposed to be metal? That's not a good thing fam)
Way too much exposition and 'telling, not showing', some of the convos dragged on for wayyy too long
The fox thing was unnecessary, but I liked Yue's added motivation to help Aang as well as her people
What the f did they do to Azula, the foundations of her character are totally different from the og show and she barely even feels like a villain. Some of her lines about being inadequate or 'not good enough' felt really contrived too
Lots of strange cuts and camera work, more than a few times there was a person talking and the camera was looking at their waist or something else for no reason lol, and there wasn't an establishing shot when there needed to be, so things were just disorientating a lot of the time
Lots of things happened but the show just. didn't give any time for them to marinate. Sokka telling Aang he abandoned his people, he knew it, blah blah in one of the early episodes? It's poignant but it lasts like five seconds before the scene totally changes, I got major whiplash, fam
The lion roaring sound effect every time someone firebent, please stop I beg
Azula being defiant was interesting and the lightning scene was cool but I still miss Daddy's Pet Azula
Sokka screaming on Appa was funny
My favourite scene was probably the dude going 'but we're the forty-first!' and Iroh telling them, 'and you're all alive because of his sacrifice'. Like dang that hit hard and I loved it. I liked how they added that
Avatar Roku was like ?? um. I know he and Sozin were goofballs but cmon man
The shots with Koh capturing Sokka and Katara were cheesy as shit especially with the sound effects lmao, it looked like horror movie jumpscares from a b-movie
Some of the acting was hammier than a ham sandwich. Even Zhao gave me that impression at times especially with the dang spirit fish scene
Pippinpaddleopsicopolis the third
I know they had to condense a crap ton of episodes, but it really felt like the show was just checking off boxes at times instead of (like I said earlier) letting anything marinate
The opening scene with the earthbending and firebending was cool, it's a shame the rest of the show didn't live up to that
The bending vfx looked good. The choreography did feel a bit disconnected though, and not as martial arty as I would've liked
I felt like I could blatantly see some of the reasons the og creators left the show
Grumps tbh I'd give it like 4/10.

finished a:tla netflix
here are some thoughts (idk, they might be controversial)
Things I liked:
Avatar itself is so good that even a bad adaptation is enjoyable, and i really enjoyed seeing the avatar world in live-action style, especially Omashu !!!
Ian Ousley was born to play Sokka idc what anybody else says, idc about the butchered character arc, or the personality changes or any of that, Ian Ousley is the live-action Sokka we deserve and he ate every scene (except one, which i WILL be mentioning later)
Like seriously Sokka has never given such big bro energy before and i'm living for it, Ian looks like Sokka, sounds like Sokka, and imo carried the show a bit.
I love a good long episode, none of this percy jackson 30 minute nonsense.
Fire Nation costumes HIT - like some of the other costumes were lacking but the fire nation uniforms and armor ? amazing.
They kept so much of the original music !!!
Honestly the bending was pretty good. i fully expected it to suck and be super cringey but there were really only a few moments of cringe for me.
Lieutenant Jee!!! best character!!! best casting!!! amazing, 10/10.
Like seriously though Omashu looked amazing, Agna Q'ela looked amazing, the southern air temple looked AMAZING.
Hahn was cute, i liked Hahn.
Blue Spirit accuracy omg i am so glad they stuck so closely to the original blue spirit storyline.
Gran gran was giving, ngl.
Again, Ian Ousley as Sokka. Show stopping.
Things I didn't like (sorry, the list is long):
sorry, gordon cormier did not do Aang justice. maybe it was the writing? idk, either way, Aang was not Aang-ing and he was honestly boring ? also i'm pretty sure Gordon is age-accurate (?) but if i had to guess his age with no prior knowledge i would guess 9. maybe 10. idk. i get that Aang is a kid but idkkkkkk I was just disappointed ig.
KATARA. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. DON'T EVEN ASK, WE ALL KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. Like, i never even liked Katara that much in the og show but dang, they ruined her.
besides katara, Iroh seemed the least character accurate to me. like, in the very first scene in the og show when Zuko is practicing his firebending iroh gets on his case for doing it wrong or whatever and he def has some attitude about it. like, Iroh isn't all chill all the time, let him have some attitude. also where was the wisdom? I felt a bit like i was watching endgame Thor - like iroh was kind of a joke? idk, i couldn't take his character seriously. the actor fell flat for me. bland. didn't sound like iroh, didn't really look like him. writing was weird.
THE PART WHERE THEY HEAL MOMO IN THE POND AND AND AND SOKKA - HUGS HIM ???? LIKE THAT ???? WHAT DID I JUST WITNESS ???? IM CRYING IT WAS SO CRINGE LIKE WHY DID I HAVE TO WATCH THAT WHAT WAS THE POINT
Maybe it was just me but Zhao's actor delivered all his lines like jokes with no punchlines. and he also was not remotely intimidating.
SORRY DANIEL DAE KIM I LOVE YOU BUT no. he didn't do Ozai justice (but really, who could possibly stand up to the performance of mark hamil?)
it wasn't funny. straight up. the whole show. just. not funny.
idk maybe i'm just a nitpicky bitch but none of the performances really hit except Ian's. that's my biggest complaint. they can change what they want (it is an "adaptation" after all) but none of the actors felt right. ig dallas liu wasn't bad ? ian ousley was great, but that's about it.
butchered bumi storyline. no thank you. i will be pretending that didn't happen.
i really just wanted to see live action sokka in kyoshi warrior makeup tbh.
ALSO STRAIGHT UP WHY DID EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER HAVE TO TALK ABOUT HOW SOKKA WASN'T A WARRIOR ??? LIKE YEAH VALIDATE HIS ENGINEERING PASSION AND WHATNOT BUT HE IS A WARRIOR? THAT IS PART OF HIS CHARACTER ? AN IMPORTANT PART ? THAT CARRIES HIS ARC TO THE VERY END OF THE SHOW ? LIKE HE IS A WARRIOR? A NON-BENDING WARRIOR ? idk man don't @ me i stan warrior sokka, it's literally a big part of the show, his growth from child to warrior, his training with piandao, his training with the kyoshi warriors, etc etc. like, it's important.
i feel like they took the wisdom and hard-hitting lines right out of the show. "youre just a child." "well, youre just a teenager." etc etc.
idk. it was fine overall. i watched it. i enjoyed it. i wish it could've been better-acted and more faithful to the original but you win some you lose some.

atla movie/atla natla thoughts from my adhd scrambled brains
I think it's silly to say the atla 2010 movie doesn't exist though I can't be mad at the silly memes that come with it. but it has a great zhao death.. and some good aang/gyatso flashbacks i mean aang made him the amulet? thats precious as shit.. tho them burying gyaso in natla is agood additon.
NATLA is not horrible or great it's simply.
OKAY..
it has a interesting tone.. going from Grim as shit to DisneyCornball vibes.. it def got me to think about how many died in the north during Zhaos attack silly me thought everyone lived
I do wish katara and aang hugged in the end it seemed like they were afraid to let the kids hugs and i dunno whyyyy...
but is it terrible? no it just.. Expostion, boring, clunky, Dallas was very good, Sokka got a few good lines, i hate that the trio kept getting seperated. aang/sokka are suppose to meet jet/bumi at the same time.. everyone was doing solo missions and it felt off.
avatar aang cgi was super uncanny valley goofy to me.
Momo was cute/Appa was fluffy i'd love to see em more esp momo.
Yues wig in the movie was better
Jet is hot
hmmm... Ozai burning zukos face was metal as fuck like brutal man. And dallas crying when ozai comes to say he's banishing. s2 zuko is gonna be sooooo goooood.. Dallas brought his A game
Gordons goofyside is wasted i hate that they deny it to us but maybe will see it in s2
I can agree that aang in the animated series going from finding gyaso body to playing on kyosih island tone is rather jarring.. so the idea of aang grieving /not being in a super good mood makes sense but really it doesn't help when all the dang avatars tell him to be friendless..
Kyoshi was the worse her characzation suckkkkeed.
Bumi i could understand on some aspect wehre he was coming from even if he annoyed me. at least him being sore/broken down from the war /being mad at aang makes sense. Kyoshi had no reason to blame aang when she knows its on Roku the war started
anyway i dont think it deserves super hate nor do i think its super great its just. okay... i get it i aws angry at it for a bit but the more i thought of it the more i thought there are bits i liked .. like dallas/Ian /momo/ so there was a bit of savalage stuff for me..
so if people love its that cool. i see zero issue or a reason why we need to be BUT acuatlly to people who loved honestly that's great. Let em love it thecast worked hard on the show. people are free to enjoy things we don't it doesn't make us better than them it just a matter of opinion
but atla fandom oh you love love.. not letting people have opinions that don't agree to yours. this fandom is so.. toxic.. critsizing is good but don't be mean to fans who enjoy things..

ATLA IS BACK! 20 new castings confirmed!
Today is a big day because Netflix has officially confirmed 20 new castings in the upcoming live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series, which is now officially done both 7 months of principal photography and one month of reshoots, and now in post-production!
Four castings are brand-new:
Lucian-River Chauhan - Teo
Hiro Kanagawa - Fire Lord Sozin
George Takei - Koh the Face Stealer
Randall Duk Kim - Wan Shi Tong
Sixteen are confirmations of previous casting scoops, eight of which were Avatar News exclusives!
Amber Midthunder - Princess Yue
A Martinez - Master Pakku
Irene Bedard - Master Yagoda
Joel Oulette - Hahn
Nathaniel Arcand - Chief Arnook
Meegwun Fairbrother - Avatar Kuruk
Arden Cho - June the bounty hunter
Utkarsh Ambudkar - King Bumi
Danny Pudi - the mechanist
James Sie - the cabbage merchant
Momona Tamada - Ty Lee
Thalia Tran - Mai
Ruy Iskandar - Lieutenant Jee
Ryan Mah - Lieutenant Dang
C. S. Lee - Avatar Roku
François Chau - the Great Sage of the Fire Temple
We also have some new, illuminating, official character details:
Lieutenant Dang
Lieutenant Dang’s position in the Fire Navy is now confirmed to be Commander Zhao’s second-in comand.
King Bumi
The age of the character of King Bumi is confirmed to indeed still be an old man (“ancient” in the colloquial sense).
Avatar Kuruk
We have an official character description for Avatar Kuruk, which will be very interesting to anyone who has read the Chronicles of the Avatar novels: “A previous Avatar with a haunted past.”
(This could also be interpreted as being about Ummi, which of course factors in, but I do have confirmation that it’s related to the novels although I can’t say more since it’s spoilers for the end of the show!)
Three other castings were not confirmed today:
Sebastian Amoruso - Jet
Joel Montgrand - Hakoda
Rainbow Dickerson - Kya
I still have very strong confirmation these are still true, they just weren’t in today’s “main” Season 1 cast announcement. There will of course be dozens more characters than the ones officially revealed so far!
But, what feels like the biggest deal today in some ways is that after more than 9 months of complete, top-secret radio silence (285 days!), live-action ATLA is back with official news! This is a really good sign for times to come.
It’s also cool to me that they made their own special announcement for this rather than including it in Netflix’s Tudum Global Fan Event with dozens of other shows and movies, which was only just a few days ago. Because this show is special, it’s set apart, and it’s gonna be BIG. Now we just wait...

Yu Sheng (鱼生) or Yusang in Cantonese, meaning “raw fish” in Chinese, is a salad dish comprising thinly slicesd raw fish and various seasonings that are mixed together as diners toss the ingredients. It is a dish usually eaten during Chinese New Year. Traditionally a simple dish with few ingredients, the yusheng recipe has evolved over the decades and now comprises a wide variety of ingredients. Our second yusheng for this Lunar New Year is a small serving of Grand Fortune Abalone Yusheng (S$49.90++) from White Restaurant. In line with the coming Year of The Rabbit, this yusheng comes with an auspicious rabbit ornament.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Today, the common form of yusheng is the 七彩鱼生 (Seven-coloured Raw Fish salad) served in local restaurants during the Chinese New Year period. Also referred to as 发财鱼生 (Prosperity Raw Fish Salad) or 新年鱼生 (Chinese New Year Raw Fish Salad), this colourful take on yusheng was said to be created in the 1960s by chefs Lau Yoke Pui, Tham Yui Kai, Sin Leong and Hooi Kok Wai, together known as the “Four Heavenly Kings” in the Singapore restaurant scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The ritual of eating yusheng during Chinese New Year involves all the people at the table tossing the salad and uttering auspicious phrases. The dish is deemed auspicious because of the homonymic meanings behind its ingredients, which suggest blessings and good fortune for the new year:  鱼(Yu) is a homonym for “fish” and “abundance”, while 生 (Sheng) means both “raw” and “life”. Together, yusheng implies “abundance of wealth and long life”. In the Cantonese dialect, the dish is known as 捞起 (Lo Hei), where “lo” implies “tossing up good fortune” and 起 (Hei) means “to rise”, again a reference to a prosperous business and thus its popularity with businessmen during the new year celebrations. The ingredients of yusheng vary among restaurants, and one such recipe is presented below along with examples of auspicious phrases that may be uttered as each ingredient is added.
Tumblr media
Step 1: All at the table offer auspicious greetings.
Words: 恭喜发财 (Gong Xi Fa Cai - Wishing you wealth and good fortune) or 万事如意 (Wan Shi Ru Yi - May all your wishes be fulfilled).
Step 2: Add fish, which symbolises abundance or excess through the year.
Words: 年年有余 (Nian Nian You Yu)
Step 3: Add pomelo over the fish for luck and auspicious value.
Words: 大吉大利 (Da Ji Da Li)
Then dash pepper over the ingredients for greater prosperity and fortune.
Words: 招财进宝 (Zhao Cai Jin Bao)
Pour oil, circling the ingredients to symbolise the multi-fold increase of profits and to encourage money to flow in from all directions.
Words: 一本万利 (Yi Ben Wan Li) and 财源广进 (Cai Yuan Guang Jin)
Step 4: Add carrots to the fish, indicating blessings of good luck.
Words: 鸿运当头 (Hong Yun Dang Tou)
Then place shredded green radish on the fish, symbolising eternal youth.
Words: 青春常驻 (Qing Chun Chang Zhu)
Next, add shredded white radish for prosperity in business and promotion at work.
Words: 风生水起 (Feng Sheng Shui Qi) and 步步高升 (Bu Bu Gao Sheng)
Step 5: Add condiments. First, sprinkle peanut crumbs on the dish, symbolising a household filled with gold and silver. As an icon of longevity, peanuts also symbolise eternal youth.
Words: 金银满屋 (Jin Yin Man Wu)
Sesame seeds follow, symbolising growth in business.
Words: 生意兴隆 (Sheng Yi Xing Long)
Add deep-fried flour crisps in the shape of golden pillows, with wishes that literally translate to mean that the whole floor would be filled with gold.
Words: 遍地黄金 (Bian Di Huang Jin)
Step 6: All at the table stand up and toss the salad an auspicious seven times with loud shouts of Lo Hei (捞起) and other new year wishes.
Action: Mix ingredients by pushing them towards the centre, which is an encouragement to push on the good luck to all at the table. Some may lift clumps of the salad as high as possible to symbolise the increase in good fortune.
This Yu Sheng (鱼生) only came with five small pieces of abalones so we enhanced it with an additional can of baby abalones. When we are ready to toss, we found out that the restaurant had mistakenly given us two containers of oil instead of one oil and one yuzu sauce. Without the sauce, there is no sweetness, so sis quickly juiced a couple of Mandarin oranges to replace the forgotten sweet sauce. Overall, not a satisfying eat due to the lack of a crucial condiment.

NATLA Episode 2 ReAction/Commentary
oh boy, episode 2 here we go!
That voice crack! Love it! Matches his current rampage, early angry Zuko is a lot more fun than I remember him to be
Iroh spitting facts, very much enjoying his spoken words
Is that a possible momo?… It is a momo!
No pirates :( okay, guess I’ll accept it from GranGran
Never change Iroh, you hear me? Never change
I see the nicknames will continue in this iteration, very good, very good indeed ‘giant scarry lady’
There’s your sign Suki
Who’s this? Thought Suki was the single one in charge cause everyone else left, paralleling to Sokka
Oh, mother… got it, Sokka continuing to fall for the highest ranking children of the places he visits tracks
Sokka continuing to put his foot in his mouth, appreciate it
hahah, awkward, lookie lookie, Sokka you better watch out
Bonding time! Awe, look at them having fun bending water in a non water bender way
Yes! They got to include that part of the intro!
Suki saying they’ve avoid a lot of things as she looks longingly at Sokka holding food in his hands while chewing loudly hits my ironic humor for some reason
appreciate the character of ‘fire’ on Zhao’s belt buckle
BOOMERANG!!! bout time you showed up!
Sokka made Boomerang?! that matches his craftsmanship abilities
Sokka making a fool of himself never gets old
Ooo, a poster about her creation of Kyoshi Island, nice
Interesting getting more backstory on Aang’s training before he received his arrows
These Suki and Sokka moments are so cute and fun
Aang meets Kiyoshi first? That’s… quite the choice
Agree Iroh, Hope does have the ability to be cruel
Goodness Kiyoshi is tall, I knew she was /Giant/ but dang girl
Again, Iroh never change, also first Pai-Sho drop
Zhoa on the island, in-ter-est-ing
Yeah, Kiyoshi is not the one to have first contact with Aang
Ooo, predictions already about the north pole, interesting
Go Momo Go! … Oh hell yah Sokka!
Ooo bringing up hope again
Ow, was that Katara seeing what happened to her mother infront of her?
Ooo, instead of Roku possession we get a Kiyoshi possession
Hahah, Zuko really thinks he has a chance against Kiyoshi, thats cute
Element Whirl Pool!
He gets to keep her fan! Awwwwwe
I gasped, Zuko, honey, I know you how much this means to you, but this is Zhao … seeee, he’s setting you up with this deal
This message Zhou is sending with his fancy extravagant words to increase his importance and intelligence, more humor I wasn’t expecting
Ahh, the Fire Lord, Hello Ozai, isn’t it a bit too soon to be seeing you?

The tragedy of watching a show with your normal sister who wants to go to bed at normal times so no we can’t watch the last 2 episodes of Netflix live action atla
Now I’m just sitting here with big eye high what’s definitely overtaken my being like OHFFFGNXVDBHNFGGHG
I just LOVE THIS ADAPTATION SO MUCH
I’ve laughed (lots), I’ve cried (lots), the way they have explored deeper into the characters which will ultimately make those character arcs so much more satisfying (like Sokka and that scene with Hakoda and Bato? YES YES YES, so goooooood)
I just have so many thoughts, and like hot dang the choice t have Zuko actually fight in the Agni Kai but then hesitate to hit Ozai was just YGHHCHCHAtfudgdtvSCREECHES FOREVER
Ozai feels weirdly more human (still a jerk), but like it felt like he truly believed he was going to fix his son into being stronger by banishing him. I like we got to see him visit Zuko after the match, even if it ended dramatically. Like of course the kid is trauma poster boy right now, but big daddy fire lord still came to check his son’s health and the learnt had been learned (it hadn’t). And that’s when the banishment hits
And you know what, it does genuinely feel in this adaptation that Ozai is testing Zuko rather than just sending him on a hopeless mission. I think he wanted to see if Zuko could do the impossible, and sometimes he likes to make it trickier for Zuko because he’s twisted like that.
Anyway this why Ozai still playing mind games Azula hit her harder. Ozai makes a point to praise Zuko’s resilience and dedication to his task in front her . The thing that will Azula most paranoid about is whether it is she or Zuko who will be expendable and unfavorited should Zuko actually succeed and return home
Omg I took a sleeping pill before to join the normal person sleep hours, but I want to oeep talking. Pleaww bear with the typo nonsense
Crap never mind damn forgot what I wanted to say
Oh yeah blue spirit and and Aang bro moment after the great escape from zhao was the bested thing ever. I love their conversation and ir ended
Also June. Love June
Okay should try wrap up sobtmsjr tags

Here's a simple art of Zhao turning his back to Ozai scene.
https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/108411738
This was meant to be posted together with it's parallel scene because *insert "poetic cinema" meme* but due to reasons I don't believe I'd be able to finish the other piece any time soon.
Also revisiting the chapter made me realize Ozai's hair should look more disbehaved than that. 😂
OOOOOOH, DANG!
That's one hell of a portrayal of that scene, love the way you worked with the lighting, makes it feel very dramatic (and it was indeed very dramatic, haha). And maybe Ozai's hair could be messier, but that it's messy altogether is VERY rare in Diva Lord x'D so I think his chaotic state of mind at this stage is conveyed perfectly here!
I'm really loving your Ozai art <3 his character arc in Part 3 is a rollercoaster that evokes sooo many fucked up emotions in me every single time I have to write him, as it should be when writing a guy like him, I'd dare say. He's complicated, he's messy, and I really thrive in portraying that because of how much work you can get done with a character like this. Seeing you making so much art about him really makes me think he's hitting the right spot as a complicated & complex character for more people than just myself, and nothing makes a writer happier than evoking other people's creations with their work! Thank you very much!!! <3
