What are y'all's thoughts about DBS chapter 96? It was okay to me. But there is some good and "bad."
(Didn't post this when I made it either. Think I got lazy or forgetful with this one.)
BAD:
When Orange Piccolo punches Gamma 2. The start up was weak & it looked like it lacked impact. Art was fine, but the flow of motion was... It left a lot to be desired.
The panel where Pan kicks Carmine is just bad. It was taken straight from the film so the posing isn't bad. What's bad is that it cuts off the top half of Pan's head. Paneling could've been better. Get rid of panel 5 from page 16 and move panel 1 from page 17 to page 16. That would make it look better.
The joke about Gohan not being able to see could've been shortened. First he couldn't tell who Goten & Trunks were. That's fine. Chuck it up to Gohan not seeing them for a while and couldn't recognize them without his glasses. But with Krillin... Can't Gohan just recognize Krillin's voice? It ain't like Krillin's changed. Then Gohan drops the senzu because he can't see. The joke was a bit overemphasized & stretched out. Either get rid of the instance with Goten & Trunks or the one with Krillin. The film had Gohan search for his glasses and then drop a senzu. That's it. But that's just my personal opinion. Others may feel it was the right amount of jokes & wasn't over emphasized at all.
The Gammas vs Cell Max felt a bit stiff (art wise) with the combat. I would suggest more motion blur instead of speed lines. The speed lines don't always work to convey movement for every pose. It has to be the right angle and such.
Trunks is missing teeth...
GOOD:
Hedo chasing Magenta in the carts was a neat alteration. But Hedo still doesn't feel like a guy who was somewhat manipulated like he was in the film. Hedo in the manga was a little terrorist. He attacked a school, attempted murder on kids other than super powered ones like Goten & Trunks, damaged property, & body snatching.
Magenta telling Hedo to wait when he's taking off his suit was funny to me.
Cell Max was drawn really well & detailed in that close up when the giant creature shouts. Idk why ppl were trying to say Toriyama did that. Toyotaro's thing is to do a lot of detail on a few panels.
Piccolo's angry face when Gohan dropped the senzu was funny. Now I do wonder if Toriyama had his hand in that panel.
The Saiyamen X part at the end... Its whatever. I don't mind it. I just didn't like the prequel story about the Saiyamen X. The next chapter will likely have my attention more than this one did. Goten & Trunks fighting Cell Max before they fuse is kinda interesting. IF they fuse in the manga (they do). Or they may get the fusion right (they don't). The Gammas & the others fighting should be interesting too. I bet the chapter will end right before Gohan transforms into his Beast mode or right after (I was wrong, Toyo stretches the story a bit more).
However... I suspect Krillin drop-kicking Cell Max won't happen in the manga (I was right). Toyo might make Krillin the comic relief instead of Gotenks. So that means taking positive scenes away from Krillin & giving it to another character (scenes were taken away). But he will likely have the scene where he saves 18 with a Kienzan still (yup). Worst case scenario, Toyo will make the Kienzan break when it hits Cell Max to reference an inaccurate filler scene in DBZ. (Didn't happen thankfully. But what happened was subpar compared to the film)

Ok but am I about to Rant?
...You know what? Fuck it.
Why not, I'm gonna end the year talking about something nobody really cares but I certainly do for whatever reason: Dragon Ball Super, babyyyyyy.
Specifically the Granolah Arc.
(In advance, thank you for reading.)
Genuinely, I have like a lot to criticize about it but for those who need a refresh or have no idea what I'm about to say but still wanna read my thoughts anyways lemme do a quick summary for you.
The story continues from the resolution of the prior arc, as a power copying enemy known as Seventhree is salvaged by it's creator. Before this guy could do anything though, the titular Granolah trounces and steals the Android.
We find out he's the last of his race, and had his planet wiped out by Saiyans working under Frieza back then. He's serving a faction known as the Heeters, they sell planets but work under intel over force, now holding their own monopoly after Frieza's first death.
Keyword: FIRST. Now that he's back, they are in trouble and tell as much to Granolah, whose trauma kicks in and wants nothing but vengeance, but of course, he's too weak. Though the Heeters start to carefully plot around this development thanks to SevenThree's memory helping them get caught up with last arc's development and our heroes.
Granolah returns to his planet and the topic comes out with his caretaker, a namekian elder. Reminded of their set of 2 Dragon Balls and with the finding of the missing one, Granolah wishes to become the strongest (At a cost) and demands to see Frieza.
The Heeters, of course, tell him to stay put and set in motion their plan: Get rid of Granolah before he destroys the empire they wanna overtale by tricking Goku and Vegeta into coming, while they wish their toughest member, Gas, to be THE strongest to then kill Frieza.
After a long brawl between our heroes trying to talk Granolah down, the elder is forced to reveal some truths: A Saiyan (Bardock) saved them and the Heeters killed his mom actually, he couldn't reveal it prior as Granolah was put to work with them in exchange for their safety.
Thus, Gas turns into the strongest and faces the now teamed up trio who are vastly outmatched as he continues to grow, little by little wearing him down until Frieza's surprising arrival, who wipes out Gas in one clean sweep and leaves Goku and Vegeta with the bitter feeling of being left behind powerwise.
With Granolah now giving up on his vengeance, Goku finding out more about his father and adapting Ultra Instinct in his own way, and Vegeta fueling his newfound Ultra Ego form with his feelings on the Saiyan's past, the gang says their goodbyes and set off.
People with familiarity on the arc will notice me describing the entire second half of it in three paragraphs. And this is for sure not a mistake: This IS the relevant information of that section. So you know, we'll be here for a while when I get there. :)
Tumblr media
So like, was the arc bad from the start?
No. Much like the grand majority of DBS, I think it's got one of, if not the most promising start so far, because as it stands, the arc set in motion a very character centric narrative over something with a bigger plot in motion. This is actually the most enjoyable part of it which we hardly get in this series at all, so it feels fucking good when people come to blows because we have so much baggage on each side the clash gets hype, much like how DBS: Broly toyed with (Or you know, how Battle Shonen that go hard do it).
Granolah is an interesting character, despite having his arc rushed at the very end and with some missed out chances. Already having seen a similar concept with Baby from GT, we know the idea of a surviving race member of a wipeout from the Saiyans writes itself. Not to mention his unique aspects such as his trauma or his combat quirks help him stand out beyond the cool design. He's also integrated into the world with as much grace as the new group, the Heeters, who serve as our "people to punch" this arc.
Tumblr media
From the duo of Maki and Oil proving to be a little more comedic than threatening but still effective, and the cunning Elec being modestly entertaining, they don't feel out of place in the world of DB. Gas in particular I'm going to put off for now, but know that his interactions with Elec is what make the latter vastly more unique in terms of narrative role. Commander Red comes to mind but if he was played entirely straight. I think they serve the narrative pretty damn fine without the need to go beyond as characters, Gas nonwithstanding.
Tumblr media
When it comes to Goku and Vegeta's role in the story, the latter gets the most out of it. His training with Beerus, his theraphy session with Granolah, his showcase of the Ultra Ego to an extent and him getting to interact with the Saiyan's past in a fresh way. They have never fucking fumbled Vegeta since the "doing the same thing as before but worse" allegations from prior arcs, which is a strong positive for his fans, but yeah, he doesn't get any Ws lmao.
With Goku, we have... Things happening for sure, of varying qualities, but the praises are getting short on that end, so I'm going to save it for later. On paper, I do appreciate the attempt to do more with this character and he still is not the weakest part of the character centric narrative.
In general, the central core of said narrative is one of the more interesting and cool so far. It makes the entire portion of the fight against Granolah all the better, not to mention that section having bouts of good coreography and action. I love having an enemy worth punching in a series where punching people happens so much they can be souless bricks to punch, especially if the bricks aren't interesting unlike, say, Frieza.
Tumblr media
Speaking of, he turned out the be the funniest, most shocking element in this arc. Like not even as a joke, his presence is a legit highlight from the sheer absurdity of his impact. He barely gets foreshadowed at the first half, with the asumption it's the character who is most commonly tied to everybody what makes you think of him at all times, and isn't even used until the very last minute. But when he DOES show up, he ONE SHOTS GAS, VEGETA AND GOKU, claims to have been OUT OF RANGE for the "make me the strongest" wish to account for him, found a HYPERBOLIC TIME CHAMBER in space and proceedes to brag that he knew what's up and that got a brand new form only to LEAVE.
It's truly a chaotic shock to the system which matches the ridicolousness of Dragon Ball Heroes whipping out a new Broly out of nowhere every anniversary or so, but in an oddly positive way. Like you could've done more with the concept but honestly I can't truly be mad with the sheer boldness in display. But that's because... Well...
Tumblr media
So like, is the second half bad or what?
I can certainly say the ending woke me up. But it's kinda fucked up how once Granolah stopped being the opponent everything else kinda crumbles into fighting a boring nothing character with no connection to the heroes and progression being constantly halted JUST so we can attempt to give this opponent some fluff.
Let's be fair: Gas holds his own with Granolah padding and brick personality aside, there is some setup to their rivalry and the backstory works, albeit motion is wasted to highlight aspects that only come out now instead of beforehand: The fact that he was envious, the stubborn devotion to his own techniques, Granolah feeling anything beyond towards him, etc. Still works fine, still patched up now.
There's also his relationship with Elec as a highlight, the former manipulating him and hyping him up in spite of Gas doubting himself, showing devotion and loyalty back to Elec and even being grateful he made him strong as he is, which is kinda tragic once he realizes what he becomes.
But I can't fucking caaaaare.
I believe the core problem with Gas is that they waited too fucking long to start showing his development and choosing the very distracting battle that HALTS ALL PROGRESSION to try and do something with him.
Tumblr media
This is also after the big break which was the Bardock flashback, we'll get to that, but since the goal became his defeat and he has no one to bounce from naturally, the second Goku steps up as the main opponent (After the fight has had MANY twists and he powered up several times) everything resets completely harder than when each form turned the tides. Because Goku still had no internal change, he doesn't remember Bardock yet, and the story didn't think of bringing Gas along to recruit Goku and Vegeta and build THEIR personal rivalry outside of Bardock's impact on Gas after defeating him so it feels limp without the connective tissue.
So what we have is a scene which deadass could've played like this:
Tumblr media
Their goal is to kill Frieza. They did not want to waste time. They literally just believed they killed Granolah and incapacitated both Goku and Vegeta. What are they gonna fucking do? Defend Frieza? They don't fucking care if he dies again, maybe they wanna fight them, but it would provide a fucking change of scenery which hasn't happened since the start of all the fighting. Gas too, like, sure, he would want to kill them for knowing too much but at this point NO ONE is a threat.
As a result the jawdropping moment of Ultra Ego and Ultra Instinct together feels wasted on a very lame opponent. The revelation Goku has to use Ultra Instinct his own way is just kinda there because Gas is the least important part of said development. The epic struggle to take him down feels done already.
It's tiring. Really tiring. No matter how fancy the techniques, the core character is being built as we speak in a narrative that SOLELY focused on characters on the last minute. And I can't care as a result.
Speaking of breaking progression and being tiring, we also need to talk about a little something.
Tumblr media
This is another joke page, dw.
But uh, anyone feels like the first flashback would've been enough? Technically, they could skim on HOW Bardock defeated Gas interrupting an already glacial paced conflict, especially not without any substantial information to the characters, Goku's development aside.
Bardock doesn't feel entirely realized either. I appreciate the fact they are trying to bridge the gap between Minus and Z Bardock to make it look like it's mostly the same character but it's not until he's fighting where this seems to be at play.
He feels like he's on autopilot on his own plot thread. There's feeling his actions are arbitrary (To the point of needing a flashback within one for justification) as him being conveniently set up to be there, rather than let his character flow naturally. His impact is felt across the characters but "just so happens to be there" is not the card they play. This isn't a rando — Nonono, this is Goku's Dad™, therefore he MUST be important... Which goes against the core idea of making Minus Bardock and Z Bardock the same character, but topic for another time.
Point is: When the story could've chosen to use the Saiyans as a positive influence (A loaded statement but yet another topic for some other time), they really chose to tell this story in a rather clunky way, contradicting the core idea of a typical Saiyan without exploring Bardock's uniqueness regarding it (If he has it) when we need it to buy into it. We're coming off from the character from Minus, you HAVE to expand on it because that one had ALSO next to nothing going for him.
So yeah, I may be beating this aspect way too much but in hindsight, if the story decided it should be focused heavily for breaks between fight while also having a half that is meandering just to trigger Goku's memories, then maybe they should've thought about it a little more when telling this story.
Tumblr media
Which leads us to perhaps the biggest weakness of writing for DB: Getting Goku involved in the plot without him feeling less like a problem solving plot device they are forced to keep out the action. He's active, sure, but he has no connection to anybody, so what do?
His arc this time around is Ultra Instinct being a technique Goku needs to improve on despite everyone in the fandom swearing that the one we were calling MASTERED Ultra Instinct for years wasn't really it. As such, he has to find a path to use it on his own, which obviously means "dodge on your base form" but there's more to it: He has to learn and stop mimicking Whis when doing so.
The solution is simple and it works in every aspect but to make UI less impactful, but asuming we saw that coming and we don't mind, this leaves Goku accepting his emotions instead of repressing them while using UI, thus getting the most out of the Sign form.
...And it's kinda disconnected to everything? They tacked in Bardock's sole focus on his drive to win as a catalyst which is why they used the second flashback, and that kinda gets a little lost when this still doesn't tie him to Gas and with how little that statement says on it's own. "He has the same determined look" doesn't work and the Sign reveal loses a lot of impact, so what we're left is with what feels like a very random power up.
This scene of Goku recovering his memories is used as a superficial aspect as a result, because the memories themselves don't make for anything beyond one disconnected touching moment. It's even lacking impact on Goku as a character because he sure knows the thing which never mattered to his core identity at all save for being a fighting freak, it would be nice if this was important as it wants to be. But that's it. Him being positively in touch with his Saiyan side internally has always been a thing, he's supposed to be the opposite of the stereotypical one, so yeah, sure. It's not awfully offensive but it sure feels wasted.
Tumblr media
Wait, that's it? Those are your takes?
Listen, you probably expected me to go off over the new set of DBs making the story lame with how anyone can wish for strength or what I think about the new forms and how I think they are either ugly or cool, but like, I feel there was a bigger urge to talk about the core narrative problems and less about the window dressing of the action. The balls have always been in a downward spiral to becoming too convenient already, and forms as punctuations for progression is like, tiring but it works visually, it's not a specific problem to the arc but the series as a whole.
Overral, I just feel uneven about it. The character driven conflict is obviously gonna leave you with a lot of holes if you don't keep it PERSONAL so the failure to do something so cool with DB hurts a lot. Undeniably though it's first half was the best part of this entire Manga on setup alone.
The second half is an atrocity however that makes me call the arc trash without the hesitation that I should be having. The fighting? Drags on with a nothing opponent. The opponent? Boring us to death as momentum has to stop to develop them. The developments? Tied to Bardock between breaks in a couple of flashbacks, used sloppily with a protagonist that feels uneven. Our actual protagonist? Hardly there.
Frieza coming back to end the arc feels cathartic on top of hilarious as a result. It's a spit to the face to the whole of it. And it's not horrendous as the Future Trunks Arc's ending thanks to at least having promises for the upcoming stories and ultimately being more interesting too.
o(-(
I don't know. This especially sucks because we were going so hard on something amazing like always but DBS just has a mystifying way to fuck things up for literally no reason. But you've heard me ramble enough. I still enjoy the series for that alone: I can't stop peeking no matter if it's a trainwreck with thousand dead. It's easy to pick apart the pieces.
Thank you for reading this if you did. I really appreciate it.
Take care! <3

143° Resenha do dia Dragon Ball Super - Volume 18 . . Here's another part from the ending of my Dragon Ball review where I sum up my thoughts on the series before the fanboys break in and attack. Was pretty fun doing the "transformation-muscling-up" part and then tossing them away. Also took pictures of the manga and figures that I have to include in the background once the camera pans to the right If you wanna hear what I'm saying during it the animation with sound is over here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HbHQqSw9FI&t=2839s Patreon's this-a-way if anyone wants to support the stuff I create: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=49390038

The Yugi twins really are opposites...
So, I was reviewing some things today and remembered a canonical fact in JSHK. Hanako/Amane is tone-deaf.
I didn't know exactly what that was, so I did some research, and I'm here to share what I discovered (attention, I still don't fully understand the concept so I apologize if I say anything wrong in this post)
Tone-deaf or amusia is the inability to recognize musical tones or to reproduce them. People with amusia also have the inability or difficulty singing. (For more information you can search, this is more or less a summary, as I found everything very complex-)
In summary- people with amusia have difficulty (or inability) to sing, and as I said, Hanako has amusia
Now, let me tell you something. Tsukasa is said to know how to sing and appears to sing well, whereas Amane basically can't. This is yet another point that shows that the Yugi twins are literal opposites!
I find this detail very interesting, AidaIro really thought of everything to make them opposites, the only thing they have the same is their appearance lol
I find this detail very funny, because one twin can sing and the other cannot! The concept of opposite twins remains to this day, it's good to see. And this further reinforces my headcanom that Tsukasa is the artistic twin
Some people may already know this or may not find this information so cool, but it was something I thought was cool and wanted to share anyway :)
Oh btw here is the proof of this in the manga, it was in the bonus of volume 20

DBS Manga Return + New Arc Announced! Here's My Speculation:
Tumblr media
Just yesterday, we were informed of the return of the Dragon Ball Super manga and the reveal of its next arc being an adaptation of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero set to start on December 20th. It’s speculated to start with prequel events that will lead up into the events we see take place in the film. While I don’t think anything that happens in the movie will change drastically in the manga, I think starting the arc with these prequel events is a fun way to adapt the arc!
The arc will feature Goten and Trunks becoming super heroes, and it’s nice seeing the two of them get something to do! I’m hoping we get to see other characters that appear in the movie like Android 18 and Krillin during these prequel events as well, as the Granolah arc really didn’t feature a whole lot of characters and it’s been a while since we’ve seen everyone else in the manga. I just wanted to take a second to theorize about what may happen during the “prequel” section of the arc as I think there’s a lot they could do there.
Videl
Videl hasn’t had very many moments to shine in DBS compared to other characters, so I think this could be a very good opportunity to show us more of her character. I’m not expecting her to fight Cell Max or anything, obviously something like that wouldn’t happen, I just think it’d be cool (and also pretty likely) that we’ll get to see a bit of her in this arc’s prequel events. We learn that she teaches martial arts at a school now during the movie, so maybe we’ll get a glimpse at the school? Who knows, I just think it’d be a neat addition to add in there.
Marron
Marron, like Videl, is another character who we haven’t seen a ton of in DBS, and I think we’ll see at least a brief appearance of her. If we do, it’s also very likely that she’ll have a new design similar to Goten and Trunks, as the last time we saw her was during the Tournament of Power if my memory serves me correctly, and at least 2 years have passed since then. If she does get a new design, it’s likely she’ll look similar to how she did during the End of Z, as the time when EoZ takes place is approaching in universe.
Gohan’s Makankosappo Training
Gohan states during the movie that he spent some of his spare time practicing the Makankosoppo in order to surprise Piccolo, but we never got to see him practice the technique. If the prequel events turn out to be more relaxed compared to the Granolah arc, it’s possible we could see him practicing the technique.
Gotenks
While Gotenks making an appearance in an arc that puts focus on Goten and Trunks makes sense, I doubt we’ll see him during the prequel events. The two of them messing up and merging into fat Gotenks during the movie tells me that the duo haven’t been practicing the technique much and have gotten rusty, so for them to pull it out during the prequel section, fuse into Gotenks perfectly, and then proceed to botch the technique during Cell Max would just be weird, at least in my opinion. The possibility of him appearing before the main events of Super Hero is still there though, so I figured I’d just bring it up. I’d definitely be nice to see a properly formed teenage Gotenks in action, though!
Tumblr media
Final Thoughts
While I don’t think this arc is going to be anything mind blowing, I think doing a Super Hero arc instead of immediately diving into a “Black Frieza” arc is for the best. I’m hoping it’ll be a good mix of action and slice of life content without stretching on for too long like the Granolah arc did. Ultimately we’ll just have to wait until December when the arc starts to see how it goes, but regardless like I said originally, it’s nice to see Goten and Trunks getting something to do in the manga, it feels like it’s been way too long since they’ve been relevant.
If you read all this, thank you! I just wanted to spend some time speculating on this as I’m very excited to see the DBS manga finally return. I’m still planning on doing a Sonic Frontiers review like I stated previously and I’m still working on writing other Dragon Ball related things, I’m hoping to have at least one of those out soon!

Continuing on with what the previous anon said another good example is FMA. We got two versions of the story but Brotherhood is the one who is like the canon manga. There's also Akame ga kill. The anime is completely different to how the manga went. Also, probably been mentioned before but DB GT the way it went into being and Akira Toriyama's involvement went practically the same way as RT and HnY. Here's Akira speaking about it translated with og pic:
https://www.quora.com/What-involvement-did-Akira-Toriyama-have-in-DBGT
Adding to that. While GT was received with mixed reviews the breaking point for Tori was the live action movie, so different from his source material it was—that he started writing new content which led to Super, (at the same since some people like GT he made it a different universe timeline, along DB Heroes anime and the XenoVerse games) with Future Trunks helping connect all. Also a friend of mine mentioned once that a character in Chobits from CLAMP ended up with x character in one version but in a ova I think they end with another. Anyway, all "official" but still different universes or timeline.
PS: And don't get me started on the Fate series
Sorry it took me a while to get to this but yes, more exceptional examples of anime and manga’s themes of official not equaling canon.

Dragon Ball Super Heroes VS Moro Arc, which one is more interesting?
Now, even though, Dragon Ball Super Heroes is just an advertisement of Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission, produced by Dimps Corporation on Nintendo Switch and any kind of PC and its abbreviations and released by Bandai Namco Games, it still produced some of the greatest moments. Same applies for Moro Arc. It's in manga, and fan-animated, but showed the first extremely powerful non-god destroyer, surpassing Jiren by tens and thousands the power. Sometimes called The All-Destroying God, he was able to best Son Goku, or Kakarot, even when he was in SSJG (Super Saiya-jin God or Super Saiyan God), and bested Vegeta in Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Evolved or Super Saiyan Blue Enhanced. Putting all of this aside, the main question at hand is, is Dragon Ball Super Heroes more interesting, or does that apply to the Moro Arc?
Tumblr media
Reviews by individuals for the Moro arc: -"At first, I didn’t think much of it, but with each chapter it just gets better and better. If it wasn’t for the Goku Black arc this would be my favorite and it is better than the Black are objectively speaking." So was quoted by omega_king13
"It's okay, not terrible but far from DB/DBZ arcs. I like Vegeta being the main focus but I feel this story would fit better right after Buu. It's weird to come back to single universe exploration and villains when just not so long ago we had a multiverse tournament taking place." So was quoted by Gaoron
Reviews by individuals for Super Dragon Ball Heroes: - "As 'Dragon Ball Super' temporarily ended with the Tournament of Power arc in March, fans were elated when news came of a new anime to hold them over until the main show returned. As pure filler fluff and glorified advertisement for the currently Japan-exclusive arcade game of the same title, "Super Dragon Ball Heroes" does its job but ends up being kind of a detriment to the rest of the franchise as it basically spoils us." Quoted on IMDb by DJ Pilkington. Total Review here: - Review 1. This review gave it a 5/10 despite the fights
"Episodes are too short but the concept is amazing the throw everything in together. Lots of enemies versus lots of Heroes is great but wish you would turn into a bigger series like super and z" Review by fear20. Link for review here: - Review 2. This person gave this a 9/10
Tumblr media
So, you are here to hear about my review. Captivated by the reviews, I decided to watch the fan-animation and manga of Moro arc, as well as the official anime for Super Dragon Ball Heroes. Links for accessing them are given below: - mangareader.io (For Moro Arc, manga 43 to 67), Fan-animation for the same (YouTube), Official Super Dragon Ball Heroes from Episode 1 (Zoro.to, Subtitles, Japanese). Oh boy, were they right! The manga itself was enticing, fan-animation on another level! Whereas the same can't be said about Super Dragon Ball Heroes. It was pretty boring, except for the fights, which were, meh alright. They never showed Goku in his normal behaviour. The only good part was when Goku was in Grand-Ultra Instinct. So there you have it folks! The title "More Interesting" goes to Moro Arc. This is it. This was small, but hope it suffices. Do follow me for more posts. Meet you later!

"QUICK" DBS CHAPTER 98 REVIEW
Been a while since I did one of these, huh? Will I be back to doing these regularly? Nope. The DBS Manga is too trash for me to do that. I would need to get paid to review that every month.
Anyway... Read DBS chapter 98... the Super Hero movie is sooo much better than this manga adaptation.
(This is something I wrote 2 months ago & I'm just now posting it lol. I know what happens in chapter 99 & 100 now, so there will be a few times I mention if something happened or not in later chapters.)
It cut out the Gotenks volleyball with 18 & the Gammas just for it to be 18 only.
Tumblr media
I guess it put more focus on 18, but I don't get why Toyo didn't just have Krillin & 18 team up to give her and Krillin more shine. He added an entire extra thing about the senzu bean dropping. Why not add something for K18? Oh right... Toyotaro hates Krillin. Which is why that scene where 18 helps support Krillin by holding him when he is tired is gone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If he puts this K18 scene in the next chapter, I'll eat my words and take it back. (Toyo didn't...)
Aslo important to notice... while 18 fights Cell Max alone with little to no help from a super weak failed fusion, the Gammas, Gohan, & Piccolo hide behind debris and let the two weakest of the 6 of them fight the a Kaiju who is one of strongest enemies they've faced. WHAT THE HELL?
Tumblr media
Y'all really gonna let a failed fusion who is weaker than Goten & Trunks individually & a woman who isn't even half your strength to fight a monster none of you can defeat together?? Such stupid writing. Makes Gohan, Piccolo, & the Gammas look stupid and/or cowardly.
And Krillin didn't even get a cool scene where he hit Cell Max with a Kienzan like he did in the film. In the movie, Krillin's attack pushed Cell Max back then slid off because the Kienzan cuts through nearly anything and it hit the part of Cell Max that was made to deflect ki attacks.
(Just imagine if Krillin knew Cell Max's weak-spot. Cell Max would've been done in by a headshot Kienzan!)
Instead, in the manga, Krillin cut Cell Max's ki attack in half to save 18.
Tumblr media
But how did he throw a giant Kienzan and not hit 18 when the blast looked like it was directly at her and the Kienzan cut the blast from the front? And how come the Kienzan didn't continue towards Cell Max afterwards and we just cut away instead? The Kienzan was thrown right towards Cell Max's direction. A pointless change because Toyotaro reasons. Oops I meant "dumb" reasons.
Tumblr media
(Chapter 99 has Krillin damage a wing with his Kienzan then 18 helps break it. Nice that they team up but makes Krillin's Kienzan look weaker. And this K18 team-up could've been done better imo.)
Also... Toyotaro got rid of 18 thanking Krillin for saving her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why? Oh right... he hates Krillin, but can't stray away too far from what Toriyama wrote/what Toyotaro has to adapt from the movie.
But this panel of Krillin getting in front of 18 to shield her from debris was nice.
Tumblr media
Thanks for removing two great K18 scenes where they show affection for each other & replacing it with 1 decent panel of Krillin showing affection for 18. 😒
The thing with the senzu could've been cool if say... Gamma 1 managed to get it. But Pan comes out of nowhere and heads into a dangerous area. Nah. Oh she leaps off a building and learns to fly? Nah.
Tumblr media
It was cute to see Pan do that and root for her dad, but it was out of place against such a deadly enemy. Ain't gonna let the cuteness of Pan blind me to saying it was a good scene. Also... how did Pan outrun Gohan? Was he really THAT tired? Where was Gammas 1 at & why did he disappear for 22 pages in a row? (21 pages if you count the full page spread of Giant Orange Piccolo vs Cell Max as 1 page.)
Anyway, the movie did it better. When she was in danger, her power clicked and she flew. Similar to kid Gohan when Piccolo threw him at a mountain and his power clicked on and he destroyed the mountain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pan is depicted by Toriyama as "Videl" with "Gohan's power." That's pretty cool to me.
Best addition to this adaptation was Giant Orange Piccolo using a mouth blast on Cell Max.
Tumblr media
This was also a cool reference to the concept art Toriyama drew. However, Toriyama's drawing relays the feeling of motion better than Toyotaro's panel. Feels like gamma 2 had fallen gently in the manga. Needs motion lines to depict speed or something, ya know?
Tumblr media
Chapter was pretty lame and boring overall imo. The manga is just rearranging events of the movie in ways that are different but not really all that good.
MOVIE/ANIME CONTINUITY:
Pan flies when in danger as Krillin yelled out for her to fly. Krillin is thankful Pan flew (he thought she knew how to) & it seems Bulma leaping onto his back slowed him down.
Piccolo gives Gohan a senzu.
Piccolo & Gohan fight Cell Max.
Gohan knocks Cell Max into a crater.
The group meet up & Piccolo comes up with a plan to stall Cell Max alone while Gohan charges his power.
Gotenks, Krillin, 18, & Gamma 1 try to help Piccolo and get overwhelmed by Cell Max's power.
Pan shows Piccolo she can finally fly & everyone is happy for her.
MANGA CONTINUITY:
Pan doesn't fly when in danger.
Cell Max stops Piccolo from giving Gohan a senzu bean.
Piccolo, Gohan, Krillin & 18 get overwhelmed by Cell Max's power.
Pan flies to catch the senzu for Gohan (it's a call back to her leaping off a cliff earlier in the DBS manga continuity). Gohan's reaction to seeing his daughter possibly fall to her death was to stop running and say "Oh no..." rather than leaping off to save his daughter. (An attempt to replace the Krillin scene with Gohan when Pan learns to fly, but executed poorly.)
Piccolo fights Cell Max alone.
Gohan aides Piccolo & knocks Cell Max into a crater.
Piccolo tells Gohan to charge his power as they prepare to fight Cell Max again.
Pan will probably show she can fly at the end of this Super Hero Saga. (She does)

Geoff has good takes but his best videos are the one he mercilessy tears down to its bare bone some shitty anime because he when DOES like something he never goes deep within beyond a surface level "it changed my life forever Trust Me Dude" because of "spoilers" or whatever so instead he mentions 50 others shows are something in common with it and are Just As Good, giving the viewer no real info about the manga/anime he is even recomending so much in first place
I was watching his SxF video and halfway trought the video he's like "hey did you know Akira Toriyama also made Dr Slump?" YES I ALSO KNOW HOW TO USE WIKIPEDIA TELL ME WHY SPY X FAMILY IS A FUCKING GOOD SHOW FOR GOD'S SAKE
Literally didn't finished the video because of it
Even in his video about CGI in anime was kinda lame because he took 5 random youtube comments instead of any real critic of how CGI is used in animation, and instead made a "here's 10 shows where the CGI is good and why" whicu thanks
Honestly a much better case for CGI is done in TotallyNotMark's DBS: Super Hero review of all things, where he goes so deep win the animation department and the even EXPLAINS HOW CGI IS ANIMATED in first place, and mentions how Disney (DISNEY) does it in a similar way, thanks the lord
So yeah Geoff has to step up his game in praising things he likes in a worthwhile manner

Some say that the more features a anime manga series product has, the better it is because it gives customers more options. 'HERO Kibou no Uta' (HERO Song of Hope) is an insert song for Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, performed by FLOW, who also performed an English-language version of the song for the film's English dub. I wanted to share this song because is amazing and really good. DETEKTIF CONAN EPISODE TERAKHIR SERIES
#2, as you can tell by #1, I read this online. I'm sorry if I offend you, but you offended me first by telling me you want to read CASE CLOSED or you just love Jimmy. If you do, you're not a true fan of this series, so don't even bother reading my review or my personal opinions. DETEKTIF CONAN EPISODE TERAKHIR SERIES
Personally, I think us DC fans love certain characters more than other (yes, Heiji, I mean you!), so sometimes when we are re-reading this series (like all the time!) you might wish to start at a specific case or start when a certain character is involved.Ĭharacters in this volume: (view spoiler) [Įdogawa Conan, main protagonist (and the shrunk form of Shinichi) I am going to include the characters introduced or as the series continues are in this volume. click away, that's why it's there.Ĭase 239 - Mystery Train Murder Case (solved), File 818 - 824 (DB)Ĭase 240 - Conan in a Locked Room Murder Case (solved), File 825 - 827Ĭase 241 - Kaitou Kid and the Blush Mermaid Case (unsolved), File 828 - (hide spoiler)]Īnother spoiler link, so don't click if you don't want to ruin this manga. I have decided to read all the chapters available up to now (we are almost to 1000!) As you can see, I am totally fangirling over here and I don't care, because this is one of my favorite manga series, ever! You know, I've seen like three episodes of DBZ in my life (just kinda skipped out on it in my childhood somehow), but one of those three was an episode where Majin Bu turned someone into a cookie and ate them and tbh kid me was traumatized by that

New DBS manga arc just got announced, I know I said I'd do a Sonic Frontiers review (and I still plan on it) but I'm gonna try and talk about that tomorrow instead. I'd speculate on the arc now but I just got off of my shift and am very tired lol
