I just like that wether we ship or not Kazuki and Rei romantically or not, there's no doubt that there's love between them. And I love the way the show don't shy away from it.

That Kazuki get to look at Rei and Miri asleep with tenderness, that Rei think about Kazuki and Rei as people he want to protect, that Kazuki said that at the time he was cleaning the apartment he couldn't stand to see Rei live like that, and that even to this day Rei is thankful to this with the way he say "I didn't care about you but then you started to clean".

Even in the opening it talk about love. In the ending too.

Love lived in earnest is such an important part of the story and them being two grown ass men don't make the writers shy away to show it sincerely.

okay i need to know if anyone else has been devastated by a creature having different defining features in dungeon meshi than like childhood stories

bc i adore this series (i am showing So Much restraint not reading the manga and watching it with my family as it comes out) but the kelpie my beloved

her hooves were not backwards and its killing me (kelpies were the closest i got to being a horse girl as a kid)

the seaweed is very nice and accurate (i say this as if ive seen a kelpie (not the dog) in real life) relating to the stories where the kelpie is made of seaweed or the shifter stories where it becomes a handsome young man with an unsettling amount of seaweed or sand in his hair

and the tail is a very cool nod towards it being a sea (limnistic? is that a word? relating to rivers and lakes) creature but the defining traits are that shes got backwards hooves and shes probably sticky when you pat her

like ik itd probably be hard to animate backwards hooves but aaaaa (expression of misapplied and disproportionate injustice and disappointment)

look at how fancy they are (((right picture from ben-the-hyena here on tumblr they did a whole series of drawings of mythological horses as carousels and its so pretty))) (image on the left is described as a nykur which to my knowledge is a similar icelandic water spirit )

((also vaguely disappointed she didnt try to get the others on her back to show off her cool elongation abilities for maximum snack collection but thats not the point i was trying to focus on here))

i saw a buddie fic where buck was "uncle buck" to chris and eddie EXPLICITLY said that he's an UNCLE and i dont think i can express how much of a mischaracterization that is. cause like. the whole point is that they can't put them in a box!!!!!! they CANT put a label on buck's relationship with chris!!! they can't and it's canon!!! eddie tried with the whole legal guardian thing but it's still not right and not used bc that only happens if eddie dies. but while he's alive it's inaccurate to refer to buck as chris' guardian even tho it's true, in a way. but they can't label it bc buck is NOT an uncle and that's what the whole thing is about. if you look at chim and denny's relationship it's absolutely clear and in your face. it's an uncle and nephew or godfather and godson. EXACTLY like buck with jee. bc these relationships can easily be defined and have BEEN defined. but the buckley-diaz family isn't in any way straight forward bc it's so different from the other dynamics that it cannot be put into terms like uncle, godfather, best friend bc it's MORE.

Woman: You’re Buck?

Eddie: No, I’m his father.

Woman: He was looking for Buck.

This moment especially is just really so profound to me because the woman who’s been with Christopher the whole day must’ve been thinking “oh, this kid wants to get back to his dad” and yet…in the midst of everything and the chaos, Christopher is asking for Buck, who’s not biologically his father, but Christopher trusts him enough to see him as his father and I think when Eddie looks to Buck during that moment, it’s clicking in his head how much Christopher really trusts and values Buck and how much Buck really cares for his son and that’s the exact moment he decides to put Buck in his will.

Okay so eahxtutu brain rot is forever so I've realized I have no clue what is going on with Mytho in this crossover. With the girls and Fakir, I'm pretty solid on who they'd hang around, but I have no idea what Mytho would be up to.

What if mytho is the type of guy who feels pressured to hang out with Daring (the archetypal perfect fairytale prince) and Apple (the perfect royal princess) but he doesn’t actually vibe with them that much. Mytho is forcing himself into the role of what he thinks the perfect prince should be and ignoring his actual needs and wants :(

Maybe his destiny is to shatter his heart and live heartless forever? So he has a tragic ending but he is, at least initially, a royal and he’d do anything to protect his people so he doesn’t question it. So he spends his time like apple, preparing for his destiny and working hard to be the best prince he can be but he’s not really happy :(
