Tour of the 50 States: Nebraska

This week we:

1. Planned to recreated Carhenge with our toy cars, only to discover we no longer have any! So we recreated it with dinos instead, using carnivores as the columns and herbivores as the lintels. Dinohenge quickly devolved into an all out dino battle. Much joy.

2. Drew a covered wagon in honor of the many that passed through on their way West. No photos because Jamie thought it looked more like a muffin on wheels and didn’t like it.

3. Grilled a tri tip and called it an Omaha steak dinner.

4. Read books about covered wagon journeys through Nebraska

for @ollieakana who asked ‘who got zayto into pokemon?’, then we had a discussion about what the teams would be so without further ado:

Zayto has a Tyrantrum, since he had a T-rex zord and rode one, this was the closest pokemon I could get. 

His Sirfetch’d he got while training early one morning in dinohenge, Sitfetch’d appeared and challanged him to a fight, they had a close match but Zayto won, but offered Sirfetch’d a place on his team so it could improve its skills. 

Javi has a Primarina, mainly because it likes to sing and Javi likes to play music, so they make a good duo. The Primarina he got as a Popplio from his birth mom before she left (I highly doubt the warden would give Javi a pokmon like Primarina)

Javi found Gallade as a Ralts while he was in Greenly Woods one day, Ralts can sense emotions and tend to go to people who are happy and kind, which Javi is. Eventually Ralts evolved into a Kirlia but could not evolve into Gallade due to how rare Dawn stones are, when he and Izzy became rangers, Solon gave Javi a dawn stone since she a bunch of evolution stones. 

Izzy has a Polliwrath, we haven’t seen her swim yet, but from what we’ve seen, she’s the kind of athlete who will try anything. Polliwrath helps her to improve her swimming as it is more competitve than Javi’s Primarina, they also like to life weights and spar against each other. 

Bisharp was given to Izzy when she and her mom moved in with the Gracia’s, Javi gave it to her as a Pawniard and has helped her improve her balance as an athlete. (both Polliwrath and Bisharp have a friendly rivlery with each other)

Both of Amelia’s pokemon are part ghost-types. I had to choose between either Mimikyu or Genger, but I thought Mimikyu would suit Amelia’s personality better as the Gengar line are prankster types and Amelias doesn’t seem like someone to pull a prank. 

Amelia got Aegislash after exploring the ‘haunted’ manor (Mcscary manor), where it gave her the Flare dino key and joined her team. She only had Mimikyu as her only pokemon because Ghost types were hard to find in Pineridge. 

Ollie got a Porygon2, because of his love of technology and Porygon2 often helps him with storing and saving data, this is espically helpful when he helps his mom with research. 

He got Escavalier as a Karrablast he found injured in the woods one day, after saving it from a rock slide, Karrablast was forever grateful to Ollie and joined his team, he later evolved and has remained by his side ever since. 

Aiyon like Zayto has a prehistoric pokemon, Arctovish as it was the closest thing to a Mosasaurous I could get. 

I gave Aiyon a Decidueye becuse Aiyon doesn’t use a sword like the others and instead has a blaster, and Decidueye can shoot arrows, I thought he would be the perfect partner.

are the swords not connected to the grid? like ollie destroyed dinohenge, thereby destroying the grid itself, they demorph, etc. but three seconds later, they pull out their sword (i guess from their ass 😅).

idk if it’s the same thing/connected to ep. 9, but after the rangers had their teleportation cut off, they apparently couldn’t summon anything? so like if the whole mfin grid is destroyed... they shouldn’t have their swords?
