I don't know which is more heartbreaking to watch whenever I rewatch the Tennant era of DW...
Jack's unrequited love for The Doctor
OR
Martha's unrequited love for The Doctor
...
Especially when they're both such amazing characters who deserved so much more than pining after someone while yes is a remarkable person, still they deserved so much more respect for being awesome human beings.
Perhaps in alternate universes, Jack and Martha both have The Doctor reciprocate the love they have for them.
That's all I ever hoped.

Nine would have thought Martha Jones was the coolest person in the world. Doesn’t even matter where in the timeline this was or what happened to Rose, he would have loved her leather jacket and her hairstyle. He would have loved that she was a DOCTOR! Her studying to be a doctor was so overlooked and he would have loved it. He would have thought she was the coolest person alive. Nine and Donna would have killed each other on sight

Rose gets her own Doctor. Donna gets her own Doctor. Martha gets a lifetime of PTSD and a t-shirt that says 'I walked the world for the Doctor and I didn't get so much as a lousy t-shirt'.

Fucking ADORE the DonnaMartha dynamic. They are Girlies of all time. Donna is like "thank god you left your shitty ex it sounded like he fucking SUCKED do you want me to kill him for you?? I'll kill him for you!" And Martha is like "OMG noooo! Thank you though babe love and appreciate you ❤️!" All while the said shitty is ex is both a close personal friend and standing right fucking there

martha jones is stronger than the us marines because i think i would have killed anyone that treated me the way the doctor treated her in cold blood. he starts off their time together by kissing her passionately in a hospital hallway and when she’s like “who are you omg?” he starts waxing poetic to her about this random girl she’s never met. and then he ends their time together by having homoerotic tension with and then sobbing over the body of a man who just made her have the worst year of her life. its a wonder she didn’t go apeshit

Donna Noble really got in the TARDIS and on trip number ONE like ONLY the FIRST trip she was like we are going to change history to save a single family because that is how it should work so that is how it does and then on trip number TWO on the SECOND trip she was like we are going to destroy an entire culture of slavery because it is right I don't care if we're two people and then on the THIRD trip she was like I am going to be unbelievably brave to save my home and everyone I love and then on the FOURTH trip she was like no living breathing thinking creature is less than a person and how dare you try to dehumanise someone like that how dare you not give her a name and the list GOES ON this woman NEVER MISSED there goes one of the kindest bravest most constant women you might ever meet and she's a temp from Chiswick
