#don't even GET me started on Waymond

(It’s another EEAAO post)
So I expressed this elsewhere I think on Twitter but I’m tired of stories that feel like they have to have an unpredictable plot twist or think that the enormity of the plot/world directly correlates to the quality of the storytelling. A good story should be a good experience even if you know what might happen, to me. I had Spider come with me when I first watched it for emotional support, wound up watching it again with another friend, and then when I visited home my childhood friend asked me to go as well. Naturally, I enjoyed and loved all three times. I’ve never seen a movie this multiple times in theaters, and there is just SO much in the movie that I genuinely discovered more things during each rewatch, and I have no doubt I’ll find even more when I watch it again next. To me, while it’s an amazing experience to go in blind and not know anything more than “immigrant mother needs to do her taxes”, the impact of the story is not lessened any more for knowing what’s about to come.
That said, minor Everything Everywhere All at Once spoilers for anyone who *does* want to avoid any details below:
Everything feels like it is falling apart during the start of the multiverse jumping, and I LOVE that the minute Evelyn starts to be able to fight back and figure out what’s going on, is when she learns how to say ‘I love you’. (“And really mean it!”). We see earlier that she desperately wants to have a conversation with Joy, or at least communicate at all to her, but everything is going on and there’s too much, and she’s never learned great communication, either. It’s a different culture. All she can do is comment on Joy’s weight and you see her wistfully staring into the distance after her daughter leaves, which is one of the very few times that day that you see her just, stand still for a minute, in the middle of all the chaos. It’s not a particularly peaceful stillness, mostly tinged with melancholy and wistful feelings. (The first time is when she’s chastising Waymond for goofing off with a customer, and she stares at the Bollywood movie playing on the TV and loses herself in the scene. It’s like a representation of her youth and dreams - not that she particularly always dreamt of someone sweeping her off her feet like that, but just the passion and youth in what could have been. That shot immediately reminded me of my mother, and I sobbed. Anyways.)
Evelyn doesn’t know how to express her love, hasn’t been able to say I love you, says it insincerely to her detriment, and finally everything clicks when she’s able to say ‘I love you’ with full sincerity for that first time.
I don’t know, I just love it. In the end, she doesn’t say it to Joy - in fact, I think she might go through the whole movie without saying it. But ultimately it’s not about the words themselves so much as being able to communicate that sincerity, and she does (especially in that final scene in the parking lot).
I love this movie so much. I could talk about every single line in that movie and how much it meant.

Pit Babe Colors Ep. 8
I'm challenging myself with this show and seeing how good my color skills really are, so I'm doing my normal thing of watching it double-speed on mute, but now, the captions are off also. It's just colors and vibes here. Also, I know way more than I intended because of comments and reblogs on previous posts, so I'm in the know now.
Kim looking at Kenta's face right before the elevator closed is the only thing keeping me from losing it. If Kentana doesn't save Kimberly, what is the point of this?! What is the point of Kentana?!
Tumblr media
Are y'all a couple now? Y'all are starting to color and outfit coordinate, and it feels very gay.
Tumblr media
I don't know what to do with these two.
Tumblr media
I'm pretty sure I'm just not seeing pink on Pete, which means he has connections to the red, and Way refuses to stay blue, so I'm sure he is still planning some corrupt red nonsense.
Tumblr media
JUST BE BLUE! Just be in love with each other. Accept his love, Waymond!
Tumblr media
I never thought I'd write this, but be like Jeffrey, Waymond. Turn blue. Commit to the blue. Fall in love!
Tumblr media
Look at him! No matter what connection he has to the red, he is beating the allegations. Peter is a GOOD MAN! If Waymond doesn't fall in love with him, somebody else will. Guaranteed.
Tumblr media
Not going to read too much into that red stripe at the top of the room, but this is a red's room. Is this Kimberly's?! Why is there so much blood?!
Tumblr media
When you take people's superpowers, yet have no idea how to use the superpowers. Apparently, Babe without superpowers is still better than everyone else. At least Charles is no longer a lying blue.
Tumblr media
I think Big Red knows something is different with Babe, and even though Jeffrey still has that damn red bag . . . IS THAT WAYMOND?! No, Waymond, no! Do NOT work with Big Red. You have Peter RIGHT THERE! Quit your bullshit, Waymond!
Tumblr media
WTF, Kentana?! If I have to pick between you two, I pick Peter. No contest. Kimberly, Peter, and Alan above everyone else. Kentana, you better stop it! You are still on my shit list!
Tumblr media
Hold up! Do you two know each other? Like biblically? What is this tension? What are these looks? Why does this feel very personal? I ain't mad at it, but Kentana still needs to save Kimberly!
Tumblr media
Jeffrey, why would you go there in that red and blue flannel shirt?! That won't save you, buddy!
Tumblr media
Kentana, the ONLY thing that will redeem you is saving Kimberly. I didn't like Jeffrey, but now he is matching with Alan, so they are in love, and you can't break Alan's heart! You are just fucking up left and right today, and I hope you get punched in the throat before this episode is over.
Tumblr media
KIMBERLY IS DYING! And y'all are about to have sex in the blue after tending wounds which is pointless because you have superpowers that will heal you!!!!!! Y'all continue to amaze me by the lack of priorities. Save Kim Possible!
Tumblr media
Why is this shot in the mirror? Why is there a barrier between you two? This is odd. More lies?
Tumblr media
Who takes a shot like that?! A KILLER! Barbara, get it together! This isn't an episode of Dead Friend Forever, and you are no longer a red.
Tumblr media
Everything about this scene is ridiculous. Charles in blue. SONIC in blue. North and Waymond in black. AND EVERYONE IS DRINKING RED SODA! This not looking good for the blues. Whatever they are talking about, the reds already won.
Tumblr media
Barbara continues to be touchy-feely with Waymond. Why can't he just let Waymond brood in peace? Barbara knows Waymond loves him, yet gives Waymond no space. Go tend to your boyfriend's fake injuries, Barbara! Waymond is working with Big Red and not falling in love with Peter, yet you have me feeling bad for him, Barbara. I should hate Waymond! BUT I CAN'T BECAUSE YOU WON'T LEAVE HIM BE!
Tumblr media
These two have to be sleeping together. Cooking Crush had the Chicken Bite product placement too and Prem and Ten definitely want each other in that show, so North and Sonic have to want each other too, yes? Yes. Now why are they watching Whiny Winifred while flirting IN THE BLUE?! They finally are both wearing blue at the same time. Thank, Baby Jesus.
Tumblr media
I was worried seeing Waymond in the red doorway, but he has Charles and Barbara. But they aren't saving Kimberly. Why does nobody care about Kimberly?!
Tumblr media
The kid is blue. Is he the insider informant? He is a child!
Tumblr media
Why are there so many red kids in the world? Big Red, why do you need an army?! Overthrow your shitty kidnappers with your superpowers, kids! REVOLT! Sí se puede
Tumblr media
KIMBERLY!
Tumblr media
North and Sonic are going to save Kimberly! They are finally in the blue and saving my favorite red! I never doubted them!
Tumblr media
WHAT THE FUCK?! THEY DIDN'T SAVE KIMBERLY?!
Tumblr media
Southwest Airlines and Vegas' Hedgehog did NOT save Kimberly! Kentana watched as Kimberly got taken, then had the audacity to have chemistry with Peter. Jeffrey walked right into the reds like that was gonna save him instead of saving Kimberly! Whiny Winifred kicked Kimberly. Waymond is working with Big Red and not saving Kimberly. Charles and Barbara CANNOT prioritize and are talking to a blue kid and giggling at each other instead of rescuing Kimberly.
AND BARBARA IS FIGHTING PETER NEXT WEEK!
Tumblr media
These men need to get their shit together! The ONLY things that needed to happened this episode were 1) SAVE KIMBERLY and 2) ACCEPT PETER'S LOVE! Neither happened. Honestly, Kentana and Waymond could die and leave Kimberly and Peter to be the power couple of Alan's company. They both wear too much black, and unlike Barbara, they aren't the title character, so either commit to the blue Waymond or Kentana, or else I'm gonna start thinking y'all are disposable.

Someone called Winston a bland ass dandy which is insulting enough but they haven’t even watched the series! They want to wait until Emmalinda hooks up with the simp Elf before watching it.
Nah, see; people need to be rooting for Winston's ass to succeed because he's the character that gets shafted in damn near EVERY movie or series where their significant other is the main character.
In most media we're always expected to believe that these people were having the greatest relationship ever up until the series starts and the plot kicks in. All of a sudden nothing is good enough anymore and now that the viewer is present these lives are MAGICALLY in shambles. Winston is a character that is actually fighting for that relationship we didn't get to experience before the series and isn't just gonna move aside so the main character can simply be moved onto "bigger and better". That devotion is rare to me in stories like this. He's actually the character I'm the most invested in because they don't usually fight this hard.
To want to see Winston get cucked is to want to see yourself get cucked because that man is representing all of us that just ain't gonna take this shit anymore. We need more characters with that energy like Winston and Waymond.

Film Friday: Everything Everywhere All At Once
In order to sate my frequently insatiable appetite for talking about movies, I am going to start a bit of a column on this here webbed site. Every Friday I'll be sharing my perspectives, interpretation or just wild gushing about or rancorous condemnation of a movie. First in line is none other than Everything Everywhere All At Once. Content warning: Heavy topics such as family troubles, sexuality, mental health problems, and generational trauma. I'm getting into the weeds with this one. There'll also be spoilers, and frankly, if you haven't seen this one yet, I can hardly recommend it enough. Don't read the rest of this, just go see it, you will be confused and delighted and probably crying just a little bit.
Tumblr media
Everything Everywhere All At Once has received all but unilateral praise, and I think it rightly deserves it. Even so, there are some aspects of how this thing is so impossibly awesome and some of the more specific facets of the ways it is so impossibly awesome that get overlooked.
Yes, there is no denying it is a powder keg of impossibly cool dimension-hopping kung fu, as raucously comedic as it is genuinely heartrending. It should stand on its own how powerfully the movie speaks on generational trauma, conflict, and healing from the same. The acting is somewhere north of incredible, with Michelle Yeoh, Stephanie Hsu, and Ke Hyu Quan delivering several lifetimes worth of life-best performances. You know the cast is stacked when James Hong is in a movie and he doesn't get to be the best thing about the movie all on his lonesome just by showing up, for once.
Tumblr media
All of this is very true, but as far as I'm concerned it's hardly scratching the surface of EEAAO, and why it might be the best movie of the decade. First off, I want to talk a bit about the queer themes of the picture.
One thing I keep coming back to in Everything is how I find it nearly impossible to not read Evelyn Wang as bisexual. Well, I say bisexual which is probably a bad habit on my end, as mspec probably is a better umbrella term to use when the exact nature of her attraction isn't explored in much detail.
Tumblr media
Now, why do I read her like this? Evelyn is, obviously, married to her husband Waymond, but there are still reasons one might suspect she is not exclusively attracted to men. We see Evelyn in a sapphic relationship, albeit it is in what might be the single most unlikely parallel universe imaginable where humans have evolved to possess functionally useless hotdog-fingered hands. Still, I would argue that the seeming impossibility of the outcome might be a narrative device all on its own.
Being in a queer relationship seems almost impossible to Evelyn, to the degree that professing genuine love to IRS Maven and minor antagonist Deidre is sufficiently out of character to launch her into her first multiversal ability jump. Almost impossible, however, does not mean impossible, and the fact that there's even a question and that she can eventually do it does imply something about Evelyn's sexuality I would say.
Also, on a less textual plane, doesn't part of this sound very familiar? If you, like me, came into your queer identity as an adult, doesn't the "living a genuine queer life feeling like a distant impossible dream" strike a deep resonating chord? Granted I've never considered having disgusting sausage fingers a prerequisite, but then again, Evelyn has a few years on me for such a neurosis to develop.
Tumblr media
Now that I think about it, the visceral unpleasantness of the literal sausage fingers could be read as a form of body anxiety as it pertains to sexuality, at least when the condiments get involved.
Another thing that supports this reading is the parallels between Evelyn and her daughter Joy. This isn't to say that one has to be Mspec to have a sapphic daughter, of course. Considering how alike Evelyn and Joy are, though, and how acutely their struggles are mirrored in other fields, mental health struggles, desire for parental approval, etc., it's not an outrageous leap to assume Evelyn could also bat for the other team, as it were, lending extra weight to the "I prayed she wouldn't turn out like me" line she delivers to her disapproving father.
It's also interesting from this point that Evelyn acknowledging Joy's sexuality to her father's face functions as a sort of False Dawn in the plot. It is no doubt a part of mending the relationship but at the moment it's hard to not agree with Joy's assessment that this is more "[Evelyn] figuring her shit out" than the mending that her relationship with her daughter needs. To get all the way there, Evelyn, and we along with her, have to take a deep dive into the philosophy and the all-annihilating bagel.
Tumblr media
There's also some really cool philosophy going on in Everything Everywhere. In the formal sense of things, the philosophy navigates the borderlands between Nihilism and Existentialism. Jobu Tupaki represents utter despairing nihilism, wishing for non-existence to rid herself of the pain of being and the crushing weight of knowledge of her million alternate lives and how nary a one of them offers as much as a morsel of relief.
Nihilism is one of those things that popular culture often imbues with entirely too much power owing to the understanding that hopelessness is somehow more intellectual than less despondent philosophies. Everything Everywhere treats Joy's hopelessness not as an inherently valid position, but as a reaction to the cascading failure of her family to prove proper care.
Look no further than how Jobu wants her mother, Evelyn Prime, to accompany her into the nothingness of the Everything Bagel. If, truly, nothing mattered, it wouldn't make any difference to Jobu whether she walked into the nothingness of the bagel singularity alone or hand in hand with Evelyn or with every single soul in the IRS. And yet, she pursues the version of her mother that can see what she sees in the vain hope that this Evelyn will feel as she feels and reach the same conclusions she has. It's very understandable, of course, but it severely undermines the point that there is nothing worth caring for in the universe.
Tumblr media
It shouldn't really surprise the astute reader that the villain of a kung-fu action film isn't correct in the philosophical sense. The deftness with which Everything Everywhere handles the reveal of it all is, however, quite heartening. Jobu Tupaki isn't wrong because she's evil or evil because she's wrong; She's acting out because she's hurting and, ultimately in need of the help of her parents. Evelyn struggles similarly, and it's a good thing that she is married to the single most transcendentally kind man in all of existence.
Tumblr media
Waymond Wang is in many ways the lynchpin of the entire movie, the pivot point that allows Evelyn to find a way out of hopelessness and regret. The way he accomplishes this is, again in the context of this being a kung-fu movie, highly unusual. Waymond is unflinchingly kind, in a way that at least initially makes him seem like a colossal wimp, a stereotypical henpecked husband. While it is true that Waymond is a bit of a wet blanket, there is also quiet strength to his approach. As In The Mood For Love-Waymond so memorably put it, his front of unflinching kindness is how he fights.
Tumblr media
What makes the whole final sequence so rousingly powerful is how Evelyn internalizes and synthesizes the perspectives of her little family. Her instinct to protect her daughter in ways her father couldn't protect her and Waymond's conflict-solving kindness allows her to overcome the final barriers between her and Jobu. This comes in the form of some kickass untraditional kung fu, yes, but also from the realization that there is no one beyond hope, redemption, or beyond love. Even the bitter battleaxe IRS agent, even the parallel universe where everyone has hotdogs for fingers, even the aging widower with no sense of personal space, hell, even Chad the raccoon avatar.
Tumblr media
It is a powerful scene of catharsis to see Evelyn compassion-fight entire swathes of opponents, but it doesn't become the transcendent piece of media that it is before the confrontation with Jobu in the Prime branch, and her father and Joy in the Prime Beta-branch. Here, the final piece of the puzzle awaits in the single most difficult thing a parent can do. Evelyn defeats Jobu and stands up to her father, yes, but to truly mend the rift between her and Joy, she must see and understand Joy's pain through true empathy, and if there is to be a happy ending for her and Joy, Evelyn must do the unthinkable.
Evelyn has to let Jobu go and trust that Joy comes back to her. If Joy chooses continued existence, it's of her own free will. Evelyn will go every step of the way alongside Joy if Joy will allow her, but it is ultimately up to her daughter. It's a profound act of love and empathy, and yet it feels almost impossible. It is an act of ultimate vulnerability, and, in some ways, the grandest act in a movie of grand acts, and even thinking back on it now brings tears to my eyes.

I just finished watching "The bear" and here why I loved it so much
(this is my opinion, I have no experience on cinematography or audio or storytelling nor am I a cinemaholic :) :-
It's so human.
Like I know it's a show but whilst watching I catch myself feeling like I'm being allowed to witness these people that are in the restaurant industry and how they're living. I feel like I'm peering to other genuine people's lives and being allowed to watch their journey in a way, their normal daily lives.
It's also very short.
My impatience with starting and watching most shows is that they're unnecessarily long as fuck. They will be like 1 hr episodes and then at least 8-10 eps in a season and it's will not even be that deep, most of it is just empty scenes that don't really add much to anything. You know when in some shows or movies they'll have "empty" scenes that dont add much to the show or anything but they're still meaningful cause they're pushing the show forward and maybe setting the tone or letting us breath or they're simply gorgeous to behold. So you still don't feel like they're a waste of time cause thought was put into them, the entirety of the bear feels like that.
Also I just love-love- how the relationships develop in the whole show. Not necessarily between the characters too but with how we perceive some characters. The one I can think of at the top of my head is Pete; cause when he was introduced and the first few times we see him he's kinda treated like "the loser" and no one kind of takes him seriously and you feel as though he's just a person whose pushed around and just taking it. But then that scene with Donna(Carm and Sugs mom) it really drove me to tears cause he isn't dense or stupidly ignorant, he knows what's up but he's trying to go about it in his own way- a subtle way. He doesn't insult nor curse and he's loving, he wants the best for his wife but he also understands where her mom is coming from. He isn't hateful and we see that play out in while cutting into the scenes of the mess in the kitchen. It felt so real. He felt like Waymond for me just a little.
And then there's richie's arc which we can all agree on obviously; the whole mushroom peeling scence is just absolutely wonderful and the build up to it. And when he was singing taylor swifts song, it just came together so beautifully.
The Sydney episode- like the whole thing was just beautiful. The joy the actual fucking joy I felt seeing her move around and see her kind of assemble this vision of hers to a point and then her trying it out. The whole scence with her father in the diner thing celebrating her moms birthday and him telling her this story of their date. I actually cried there cause I remember having almost the exact same kind of convos with my father multiple times; how you can feel that he loves her but also wants to make sure that she's sure about what she's doing, not cause he doubts her but cause she doubts herself. Their whole gentle relationship which I had not expected at all; and which I love.
And Marcus going to Copenhagen and how at the end of that episode I just felt relief that nothing bad happened. How gentle the entire thing was and how we got to know Marcus as a person away from the beef. How he is kind and loving and passionate. The whole conversation with Luca (the chef)- dont even get me started on that convo- I felt like I was actually sitting there and listening in on a convo between two people. The hug with that guy that marcus helped, how relieving it was. The whole episode was a gentle step back and from all the chaos and just existing day to day. It's quiet and tranquil.
AND THE FUCKING MULATU ASTATKE SONG DROP! That entirely surprised me cause I had to take a sec; the use of Ethiopian music is something I'd never thought I'd see especially used so perfectly for a scence in Hollywood. I could tell there was some habesha that participated- Sydney's family name is also Adamu like. I couldn't find out who though but I felt so proud and happy and I really appreciated it. And i knoooowww some habesha was involved (but I couldn't find out who) and I am so proud of them.
The whole Christmas episode and how -just beautifully it was executed. A lot of families are like that. My family is like that- well minus the fights and knocking down walls with your car part, but the tension is exactly like that when I was growing up. And I didnt feel stressed out of my mind watching but I understood, I understood where everyone was coming from, and how people get to those points that they get to. And it did a wonderful job conveying that. And the desire that you have to leave but the thought that they're your family. And the guilt that some of them probably feel because of Michel's death cause of the toxic environment that was created but is ultimately no one's fault in that sense (like carms mom and maybe carm himself).
The whole Ebari part where he's saying he doesn't wanna change but then we see him later watching a vid in his own place in the kitchen and agreeing and in the background the picture of the 3 of them is hanging.
Again very very human and just life, it felt relatable and understandable. Just came to accept and see these characters as real genuine people as the show went on, like the people in my life.
These characters just feel like people and people are soggy and not perfect and when interacting we don't fit eachother as well as we thought we would and there's friction. And some one needs to apologize and someone needs to be the bigger person but it's hard and it takes time. And it requires constant constant work. And they do a real good job at it. I just love love the show and seeing as how I normally have 0 patience to watch show if I'm not interested by the 4th ep, I will say I will be watching and rewatching this multiple times. Highly recommend.

Note
Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....Thanks...
It took me a while to get past my top 3 because for some reason my mind blanked when it came to every piece of media I've ever consumed HOWEVER almost all of these characters are characters who could be considered my favorites if you ask me on the street do you like "x". They'll probably shift and change though but these are some off the top of my head.
Shigeo Kageyama (Mob) (Mob Psycho 100) - Mob Psycho 100 is a series I hold very dear to my heart, it is in my constant top 3 Anime/Manga (You will likely see the other 2 on this list) and Mob is my favorite character. He is a character that I rooted for every second of his screentime, who actually drove me to be better. The "Your Life is Your Own" message lead to me changing my college major. He's incredibly kind, sincere, and honest.
Grovyle (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky) A little story behind this. My first pokemon game was Red Rescue Team (not a mainline game but a spinoff) because my parents didn't know the difference. However I loved Red Rescue Team to the point of playing it until the in game timer broke. The sequel was better in every way. Grovyle is a character who embodies the notion that existence is temporary. There will come a day when all of us are gone. However instead of living in regret, fear, and selfishness he was willing to sacrifice his life for the greater good even though he wouldn't be there to see it. Using your life to do something incredible ensures your spirit will live beyond you.
Edward Elric (Full Metal Alchemist) My second favorite anime/manga of all time. His determination to fix his mistakes at the expense of his own body. he's one of my favorite older brothers in any media because of the lengths he's willing to go to right his wrong. There are many points in the series where anyone would've given up, especially throughout all the pain, but he kept going. Because he loved his brother. And I think that's beautiful. Also helps that he was written by a woman.
Every single character from Everything Everywhere All At Once but for this space Waymond Wang. A sneak hit that completely shook the leaderboard of my top ten movies, EEAAO succeeded in everything. But Waymond Wang stuck with me and still does. It's about how he shields the people he loves even though he was afraid, how much he loves his wife, how he fights so hard for her even though she broke things and was at times dismissive. His kindness was how he fought. How even at the height of his success, in every lifetime he would go to Evelyn. I believe in kind people because Waymond is a kind person.
Reigen Arataka (Mob Psycho 100) Another MP100 character but hear me out. He is likely one of my favorite anime/manga mentors. Rather than teaching Mob right or wrong he taught him choice. The right choice is good but you don't always have to go for that option. One of my favorite moments was him just telling Mob it was okay to run away. Something most other shonen don't do. He does all this while still lying about being an esper. But at that point I don't think Mob cares. Regardless of if he has power or not, he's a good person.
Maki Zenin (Jujutsu Kaisen) I don't even know where to start. Probably with the fact that she is one of the best developed female characters in some of the recent shonen manga I've read. Next the depiction of female rage, what she did to the Zenin clan deserves to go down in the history books. I live a girlboss and Maki checks every single boss.
Toph Beifong (Avatar the Last Airbender) This is my GIRL. I loved her when I was younegr and I still do. It is rare for a cocky, abrasive, girl character in a TV show to not be humbled or bashed or fridged. She was so unabashedly Toph. The best earthbender in the world who didn't let blindness get to her. She created metalbending. Who else was doing it like her. She's such a strong character and a role model for me.
Denji (Chainsaw Man) A somewhat new edition to the list but as someone who went from Fire Punch to Chainsawman, he deserves a spot as my favorite Fujimoto character next to the girls from goodby Eri. Denji's story is about what happens when someone is so deeply denied humanity. On all levels he's had it stripped from him for the benefit of all his abusers. To the point where he thinks its correct. That he'll be happy if he's used. By everyone he tries to get close with (Reze, Makima) he is considered a resource to exploit which is why his change of heart in the last few chapter was so cathartic. He recognized his own humanity and the abuse that he had previously endured and started to act more selfish as a human. Perseverance in the face of suffering will ultimately lead to happiness. He's also not a traditional anime perv as many would label him to be, he is surprisingly well versed in consent.
Eleanor Shellstrop (The Good Place) This spot almost went to Chidi HOWEVER I related more to Eleanor. Something that always got me about The Good Place was its depiction of honest people. Eleanor was realistic, she was rude, selfish at times, but in the end she wanted to be better. That's what made her a good person. She wanted to earn a spot in The Good Place and watching her work for that spot and then work to eventually fix the good place was very satisfying.
Percy Jackson. (Percy Jackson and the Olympians) No elaboration needed. That's my boy. This series has been a staple in my life, even when I moved away from Harry Potter Percy "Backtalk the Gods" Jackson was still my boy. He chose his girlfriend over a seat in Olympus I don't think I need to go further.

Tag People You Want to get to Know Better
I was very kindly tagged by @ahhhnorealnamesallowed and always love doing these so here ya go!
Favourite Colour: Any cool tone, but purple by a small margin
Currently Reading: bouncing between two books at the moment:
The Way Spring Arrives and Other Stories which is a collection of Chinese sci-fi stories by female and nonbinary authors/translators. As with most short story collections there are some that are better then others for sure, but one of my fav parts of it so far is that there are essays from the translators talking about the translation process with a focus on how things are being gendered or non-gendered and it's absolutely fascinating.
I'm also reading Druid Vices and Vodka by Annette Marie, which is the 6th/10th book in a YA urban fantasy series within a series (i guess you could argue it's not YA but it sure reads YA). My library doesn't have the series*, and my free KU subscription I got when i bought my ereader is expiring soon, so I figured I should try to finish this up (spoiler, I'm not going to succeed in finishing the series but I can probably finish this one in time since they go quick)
*this is technically not true as they have the audio books. However I'm hella picky about narrators and these are not up my alley
Last Song: My Kink is Karma by Chappell Roan
Last Movie: Everything Everywhere All at Once. I FINALLY got a chance to watch it because they where showing it at Convergence Con this weekend, and omg. You're all about to get a mess of reblogs from this movie in my queue because I adored this so much. Shout out to the eye primer my aunt gave me because my eyeliner did not move an ounce even though I was sobbing from Waymond's "Be kind. Especially when we don't know what's going on" speech till the end
Currently Working On: I started crocheting a granny square cardigan/shawl thing ages ago, and recently picked it back up. I'm hoping to finish that in time for fall, but I'm an extremely slow hooker soooooo who knows
not tagging anyone in particular because I've been offline for a few days and am not sure who has already done it this go 'round, but would highly encourage everyone to do this if they haven't already!

Thoughts from Everything Everywhere All at Once
I recently rewatched Everything Everywhere All at Once because Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan both won at the Golden Globes the other day. A few minutes in, I got emotional because I forgot about the plotline where Waymond (Ke Huy Quan) is asking for a divorce from Evelyn (Michelle Yeoh).
One of the movie's themes was about "thinking that the grass is greener on the other side". In the film, Evelyn's character can jump from universe to universe, and she was able to see that her life was happier when she never moved away with Waymond. She was a movie star in China who got famous because of her martial arts training. However, behind the dazzling facade, she was unhappy because she never had a child or a husband. In that same universe, Waymond Wang also got wealthy and the universe allowed them to cross paths one more time at her movie premiere. The two found an alley to talk to and exchange a few words. She told him about their life in another universe, where they have a laundromat and a daughter named Joy, and Waymond admitted that he would have loved that life because it meant that they would be together, married with a child. Brokenhearted, Waymond walked away from Evelyn, unsure if they'll both cross paths again.
Everything Everywhere All At Once may be my favorite movie from 2022. As much as I want this life to be better, this life I have right now is not a movie. There is no way for us to know that we have better lives in other universes--if such a thing existed. The best we can do is to try what we have in our current universe. As humans, it's normal to be unhappy with what we have right now and not find contentment. But to me, it's unfair for my future self to give her a life I know she will regret. In 20 years, I don't want to regret wasting my 20s on people that don't matter. I don't want to think that I'm too old to chase my dreams and build a future that I'll be proud of. I don't want to think that I miss out on opportunities because I'm scared to take risks. I want to look back and say that in my 20s, I was driven, focused and brave.
So here I am at 25, starting to build a future for myself with a few friends supporting me. I don't want to think that I'm starting my art journey late, because I know had to resolve other issues within myself to make me fall in love with creating art again. If I didn't get into fashion, I would not have a colorful art style. If I didn't get into film photography, I would not have found my niche audience. If I didn't take a risk of falling in love, I may not go back to writing again. These small and unexpected decisions made me who I am today, and I am thankful that they happened even if some time was wasted along the process. I'm still happy that I was brave enough to take chances even though I know I'll get hurt in the process.
Life is about risks. I like to believe that if I'm meant for something, the opportunity will not pass me. I also believe that I will receive what I want if I work hard enough, but if I failed after working hard, there will be better opportunities for me. There may also be instances where I need to prioritize what truly matters, and if I'm given inconveniences, I'll be strong enough to fight negativity with love. I trust the universe's timing because we only have one life, and in this life you do everything to be happy even if you can't be everywhere all at once.

Our slasherfuckers’ brains are just rewired. That scary movie moment where the killer appears? To us that’s like the hallway locker scene where the cute guy appears in a high school romance movie.

About other universes in Everything Everywhere All at Once...
there is one universe where Evelyn was sick and Waymond was right beside her, holding her hand.
Tumblr media
In Alphaverse, the van Alpha Waymond was on is basically a mobile rebel base with limited resources and space, and yet he still set up a shrine. Usually a shrine like this, considering there was an urn and red lights, I think it’s safe to assume this was not something like a poster of a spiritual leader at the rebel base to boost morale, but a shrine set up for a family member, by a family member.

It’s about Evelyn saying “sometimes I wonder how he would have survived without me“, then we realised Alpha Waymond proceeded to live without his Evelyn and continued to find other Evelyns, and would still look at them lovingly, because he knows them, and maybe even hold their faces while talking to them. And then we were hit with CEO Waymond who was even successful, without Evelyn, but at the end CEO Waymond still said, “in another life, I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you.”
So yes Evelyn, he could survive without you. He just prefers surviving with you.

I don't think Pete's in love with Kenta. I think it's Kenta who is in love with Pete, and Pete has perhaps affection but not love for Kenta. I also think it's Way that Pete starts feeling something for, and that's why that pink and longing stares, maybe because they are both enigmas or something. I don't know, but these three are very interesting, and also wonder what each of their colors are? Because it's not readily visible at all.
Anon, Kenta is black, Pete is blue, and Way can't decide if he wants to be black or blue (or be a baddie red), which is why I think he will die before Kenta does and blah blah blah but . . .
"they are both enigmas or something"
Because another Anon just asked me:
Do we know Pitbabe and companies destinations? Like I know Babe and Charlie are Alphas and Way Pete are both Enigmas but like what about the rest of the gang?
What in the Charlie and the Alpha Factory do you mean by "enigmas" y'all?
Tumblr media
I want to believe you mean they are both puzzling characters, but I don't think that's what you mean, and I know *just* enough about Omegaverse to know that enigmas are like the Mean Girls of that universe in the way that everyone wants to be them and fuck them but also fear them.
Tumblr media
So are you telling me that Peter and Waymundo are the Regina Georges of the Alphas? IS THAT WHAT YOU ARE SAYING?!
Tumblr media
Is that why Way Way didn't want to touch Peter when they first met? Is this why they keep drinking at the bar together like it's a Wednesday and they must wear pink?!
Tumblr media
Is that why Peter was looking at Waymundo like this, not because he likes him, but because he likes that they are both Mean Girls and have to sit at the same table?!
Tumblr media
Like, I know you asked me a question, but I'm trying to process the bomb you just dropped on me because as much as I love knowing stuff, some of y'all have been wildin' in my comments and reblogs, and apparently FORGOT I'M WATCHING WITHOUT SUBS AND WITH THE TAG BLOCKED!
I'M SO LOST RIGHT NOW!
Tumblr media
I mentioned I might unblock the tag in a previous post because I wanted to reblog GIFs of Kenta x Pete and someone DM'ed me letting me know that I might see posts about Kentana BEING PREGNANT!
Tumblr media
Which has me thinking Barbie is pregnant and just not sad over Charles lying 24/7 since apparently pregnancy is on the damn table in this show!
Tumblr media
Then someone commented that old man is BARBIE'S DAD so did Tony straight up steal these kids from their parents and nobody has noticed because he isn't building a super powerful army for himself but something far more nefarious?!
Tumblr media
And the worst part is I have no idea if any of this is canon or people's theories because Pit Babe lied to us and said it wasn't Omegaverse than "Surprise Bitch"-ed us and the Omegaverse is so wild that I don't know what is real or not.
Tumblr media
I have so many questions, yet I WANT NONE OF THEM ANSWERED! Do I want to know if Barbara and Kentana are actually pregnant? Do I want to know the real reason Big Red is kidnapping these kids? Do I want to know if Waymond really loved Barbara or if it was just because he is an enigma?
Tumblr media
NO! SWEET BABY JESUS WITH THE HISTORICALLY ACCURATE SKIN TONE NO!
Tumblr media
You know what I do want though? A drink because this show is way wilder than I thought, and I don't think I'm ever gonna unblock that tag.
Tumblr media
But if Kenta is pregnant, who would he even be pregnant by? Is that the real reason Charles and Barbara were fighting on the race track is because Barbara is pregnant and Charles didn't want him racing? OH MY GOD! Can Jeffrey get pregnant?! Does Alan even have the ability to get Jeffrey pregn ---
Tumblr media
fuuuuuuck!
Tumblr media
Nobody answer these questions. I am BEGGING you.

Because I think it would be really interesting and funny - can you rank the Pit Babe characters on your Alan&Pete scale? I'm curious to see where you're at with some of them lmao. Least to Favorite (though I know who your fave already is, lol).
Only if you want to tho, lol.
@slayerkitty, honestly, this list could just be these two lying bitches:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Big Red is not on this list since he is the big bad, but since I have no idea what the plot actually is, take all of this with a grain of salt. I wrote that I think all of them have superpowers since Big Red was collecting them like X-Men's William Stryker for his super mutant army, so I think Charlie's superpower is mind control, and I think Way's is controlling people's emotions.
WHICH PISSES ME OFF!
Tumblr media
Babe was the prized super kid, so I think Big Red is pulling out all the stops to get his trophy racer back including sending all the other super kids to manipulate Babe with their superpowers, so let me rank them from dead-to-me to love-of-my-life:
The One I'm Ready to Box - Charles
Tumblr media
Charles keeps moving Barbie's head and body to face him. He never lets Barbie turn away from him. Then, when Barbie is clearly upset, Charles continues to kiss him, which is why I think he his mind controlling Barbie. When his arm was in the sling, Babe could push him away before Charles could start his mind control bullshit. Sometimes, it's noticeable when Babe's face softens, which should come off as sweet like "ah, look how he drops his defenses around Charlie" BUT LOOK AT THE WAY HE DROPS HIS DEFENSES AROUND CHARLIE! Charles doesn't even know how to drive, yet Babe gave him a car. Charlie's dick game may be strong, but mind control is stronger.
Tumblr media
10/10 Petes - It's on sight.
The One I'm Disappointed In - Waymond
Tumblr media
Waymond had me the first two episodes. I was in his second-lead-syndrome corner, then he flipped the script in the third episode, and now I can't unsee the red flags. In episode four, I noticed twice how he touched Barbie, which prompted a shift in Barbie's demeanor. Much like Charles, I would love to believe that Waymond brings happiness to Babe's life, which is the reason Babe looks less sad when Waymond touches him, but HE LOOKS LESS SAD WHEN WAYMOND TOUCHES HIM! I think Waymond is controlling Babe's emotions, yet Babe still doesn't love him. It's the only saving grace for Waymond. Charles is using his powers to make Barbie love him, but Waymond isn't.
Tumblr media
9/10 Alans - I'm gonna yell at him, then punch him.
The One Who Is Obvious - Jeffery
Tumblr media
Jeffery is going to be with Alan, so I can't fully hate him since I love Alan. His superpower is apparently seeing the future, which makes sense why he was opposed to touch in the second episode, and that makes him useful in my touch=superpower theory for Charles and Waymond, so I hate him a little less. BUT if he had anything to do with Barbie's car going up in flames, so he could ensure Charles got a racing spot, -murder-
Tumblr media
8/10 Petes - One wrong move and I'll end him where he stands.
The One Who Just Sucks - Winifred
Tumblr media
Winifred is just a little bitch, but God is he annoying. I don't wanna know what he is saying because I'm sure it's as annoying as his face whining all the time. Only five episodes in, and the man still ain't tired of getting his ass handed to him by Barbie and Kimberly. Whatever he is plotting is dumb. Whatever he is complaining about is stupid. Whatever he is doing is already a failure.
Tumblr media
7/10 Alans - I'm gonna push him into a real Christmas Tree, so he'll get scratched up and cry about it.
The One Who Is Gonna Suck - Decanus
Tumblr media
Dean has yet to do anything solid, which means he is just waiting to fuck us over. I haven't seen him race or work on a car, so I'm thinking he'll be pissed that Charles is doing all the things he wanted to do, and screw over the entire team regardless of the race's outcome. Jealously makes people do crazy things, but he is going to be with Winner, so homie is going to go full crazy.
Tumblr media
6/10 Petes - Anyone who fucks Whiny Winifred deserves to be slapped.
The Ones Who Ain't Loyal - North & Sonic
Tumblr media
I simply don't trust them. They are too colorful in a show that's whole visual plot hinges on red versus blue. They need to pick a color. NOW.
Tumblr media
5/10 Alans - I'll threaten them on work time, so they'll know I'm not afraid to lose my job if it means I can fight them.
The One Who Is Gonna Kill His Shitty Boss! - Kenta
Tumblr media
Why is he still fucking with Big Red?! He would be much higher on this list but when Babe was fighting Big Red (both times), Kenta looked sad. If the flashback wouldn't have just showed Babe as a kid with his dad, I'd think Kenta was his actual brother. The way Babe yelled at him in the parking lot makes me think they have a long history, so I'm hoping once Kenta teams up with Kimberly, he'll be the good guy I know he can be.
Tumblr media
4/10 Petes - If he kills his boss, he'll be number one in my heart forever.
The Pretty One - Peter
Tumblr media
Pete is like a Lord of the Rings' elf. He is pretty. He is an archer. He is kinda sus. And he is the perfect ally. Much like those beautiful elves, I don't think he joined up with the blue team because he is a kind dude. This is for his own personal gain, which means he must have beef with Big Red; therefore, he has a superpower too. I think he heard Kenta or smelled Kenta's cigarette because Peter didn't turn around until Kenta turned around. He knew Kenta was there. And he sensed Waymond's emotion-changing powers too, so I'm okay with them being together (as long as he punches Waymond too).
Tumblr media
3/10 Alans - Watching his every move . . . because I think he is pretty. Not because I think is he bad.
The One Who Will Solve It - Kimberly
Tumblr media
Kim is a real one. He presents as red. He works for the reds. He is a red, and isn't ashamed of it. He hasn't faked his color, and in a perfect world, he'd be with Babe. I don't think he has a superpower, but if he did, it would be the power of common sense. He hates his coworker, Winifred, as any sane person would, so he gets the passenger seat in my car. He also got a handshake from Babe, so he already made friends with Babe. They would make a perfect pair. Barbie x Kimberly Ghost Ship is being captained by me.
Tumblr media
2/10 Petes - We're frenemies!
The Main One - Barbie
Tumblr media
Babe is the title character, and he is being manipulated and controlled by everyone around him, but . . . the boy is un pendejo. The first two episodes, he was a little too macho, and in episode three and four, he was un pendejo. He argued with Kenta when Kenta could have just kidnapped him, then he punched everyone on his way to Big Red's office, which makes no sense to walk directly up to the man who is going all out to get you back. He is in need of a good hug that does NOT lead to sex, and for someone to tell him he is more than his superpower (which is . . . being awesome at everything?).
Tumblr media
1/10 Kanghans - I'm upset at him and for him all at once.
The One I Love - Alan
Tumblr media
My man has committed no wrongs. He is amazing. He is fantastic. He is beauty. He is grace. He should slap all these fucking liars in the face.
But he won't because he is too pure for this world.
No Petes. No Alans. No Kanghan. Just love.

Pit Babe Colors Ep. 5
Because I have asks in my inbox about the color coding in Pit Babe even though I don't want to watch it, I'm challenging myself with this show and seeing how good my color skills really are. I'm doing my normal thing of watching it double-speed on mute, but now, I'm going to take off the captions.
How could I forget we were in "Disco Inferno" at the end of the last episode?! Babe looks just as confused as I am that Charles ran his ass out on that track. Where are the professionals? Medics, where u b?
Tumblr media
Nice to see everyone wearing blue just in time to prove they did not sabotage the car.
Tumblr media
Get your grubby paws off of Barbie, you color faker!
Tumblr media
Because I hate Charles, everything he does just comes off very creepy. Like he is trying to have Babe all to himself, like a creepy collector of precious superpower kids, but he only wants Babe.
Tumblr media
It's Whiny Winifred in the red Chicago Bulls jacket being annoying per usual.
Tumblr media
I don't care what is being said. Whiny Winifred did not sabotage that car. He isn't smart enough for that. But I'm very curious what Kim's superpower is because he is constantly seen as the bigger presence in their arguments. He may be small, but he is mighty.
Tumblr media
TRUST NONE OF THEM, ALAN! As usual, Charles conveniently arrives to save the day even though Dean saw Jeffrey messing with the car. This is mine and Dean's villain origin story. (Sonic, get your colors together, kid!)
Tumblr media
Alan, don't save him! He don't want to be saved! He can see the future, but couldn't see himself getting caught? Go back to superpower school, Jeffrey! YOU SUCK!
Tumblr media
I should be on Jeffrey's side because he is driving a blue vehicle, but he had to put "Home" into the GPS, and I can't trust a boy who doesn't know how to get back to the apartment he shares with Charlie . . . SINCE HE ISN'T GOING THERE! I guess you really are going back to superpower school since you are probably headed to Big Red's house, you LIAR!
Tumblr media
Couldn't be bothered to wear blue for two episodes, and now you got nothing but blue, huh, Waymond? Odd choice, sir.
Tumblr media
Charles is everywhere at all times. I think Waymond can control emotions, which is why he touches Babe, but I think Charles is mind controlling Babe. He is always in Babe's bubble! Back tf up, bruh.
Tumblr media
And we're back to black because you are devoid of emotions since you are controlling everyone else's. I see you and Charles for the superpower manipulators you are.
Tumblr media
Kimberly, in a garage full of blues, I only trust your red ass. Kimlock Holmes is gonna solve this case because that's what Kims do!
Tumblr media
Are you conflicted now, Jeffrey? In the red and the blue because you know you fucked up and hurt Alan with your lies?
Tumblr media
Pete is wearing blue. I trust this pretty man with my life.
Tumblr media
I have believed that superpowers come from the hands for two episodes now. Waymond is always touching Babe then Babe looks happier. Charles is always touching Babe, then Babe concedes. So Peter not immediately taking Waymond's hand gives me faith that Peter KNOWS what is up because I think he has superpowers too!
Tumblr media
Kenta, you do not have superpowers which is why he treats you like this. Kimberly is gonna love the fuck out of you though. All you have to do is murder your boss.
Tumblr media
Did Big Red do this to you? MURDER YOUR SHITTY BOSS! You don't need a superpower for that. I'm rooting for you, hon.
Tumblr media
My man has the blue blazer and the blue drink. He is proving his loyalty, and I couldn't love him more. This is how you prove you're trustworthy. You ease into the color. Unlike the Treacherous Trio: Charles, Jeffrey, and Waymond.
Tumblr media
Barbie, I need you to pay attention. That hand on your arm is controlling you. Your powers are gone because Charles is fucking with your brain so he can take your racing spot. Don't let that lying bastard touch you!
Tumblr media
WHY ARE YOU LETTING HIM TOUCH YOU?! I know he is controlling your mind, but you gotta stop letting him touch you. Go two days without his touch and see how much clearer you'll start thing. You took him to you and Way's spot. I'm insulted for Way because this was sacred, yet Charles gets everything he wants . . . *mind control*
Tumblr media
Alan, you wear a lot of green, and I love you for that. You are not in this red vs. blue bullshit. You are in a league of your own. I don't think you have superpowers, but if you did, it would be stealing hearts because I'm ready to lay my life down on the line for you, sir. You're perfect.
Tumblr media
Sonic REFUSES to get his shit together. WEAR BLUE ALREADY, DAMN! But also, Decanus is not pleased with whatever is happening. Villain Era loading.
Tumblr media
This scene would be adorable if Charles wasn't a lying pos.
Tumblr media
Decanus, I know you are going to be with Whiny Winifred, so I'm gonna just call this game, and say you lose.
Tumblr media
Wait, A SECRET THIRD OPTION?! Kim Possible, is that you player?!
Tumblr media
Decanus, you are getting pushed by Alan next week, so I know you done fucked up. Sonic, still be doing wild color things next week too.
Tumblr media
Alan, do not suck up to that child. He may be wearing blue in that moment, but his heart is red and not in the good way.
Tumblr media
I still ONLY trust Alan, but he is falling for that lying kid, so he might slip in rankings next week, but Kimlock Holmes and Pete the Magic Dragon did no wrong this week, so my trust remains intact for them. I cannot wait until Kenta gets an ounce of love from Kimberly and it turns his entire life around (KILL YOUR SHITTY BOSS!).
Barbie is being mentally and emotionally controlled by Charles and Waymond, so here's hoping this show gets kinky, ties people's hands up, and sees just how powerful they are without the gift of touch.
Couldn't emotionally manipulate Peter, now could you, Waymond?
Tumblr media
What is your superpower?
