i just remembered sonic and the tales of terror. the sonic book for little kids that only me and like 2 other people have read that said Oh yeah the werehog isnt gone Btw. Yeah that whole thing basically made sonic permanently sensitive to dark gaia energy and any exposure to large amounts of it will make him go werehog mode again even if dark gaia is still asleep .

Here's the fic!
Turn Your Face Again, by an anonymous writer on AO3, is a one-chapter fic of Noir Comics Peter running into and talking with an alternate Noir Robbie that lived (while Peter handn't).
It's absolutely wonderful and I really loved the characterization of both of them a ton, along with the sheer bulk of details and history that the story painted. It feels lived in, I think, if that makes sense. My friend ( @ajolote-mexicano ) who sent it to me got plenty of liveblog spam quotes as I made my way through it. Highly recommend.
(Psst if you enjoy, please RB; this post most likely won't reach anyone without it! I want to show this writer some love with what little I can do)

Ohoho that's right! Liu er's fur changed color as well! I used to think going into this show that since JTTW Macky was written to be Wukong's negative traits, if he gave in to all of that, then an adaptation of that concept could have Macky verbally reveal all of his negative traits/and or things he might believe about himself but hides. Now tho, with what everyone says about his biased perspective, ig its similarly that concept still bc JTTW!Macky was trying to push that reality (re: a negative Wukong) in with his behavior, make others believe so, LMK!Macky is also doing that, just with his salty shade throwing instead. And tbh abt that biased prespective everyone is up in arms about. Personally, I'm just wondering where it came from to make him believe that. Benched is so fasinating for that reason + S4 Special Macky saying "that's what we used to believe" re: Wukong being bad, like WHAT IS GOING ON IN THAT MONKEY NOGGIN ON YOURS???? I'm almost expecting them to pull a reverse uno card on us and the fox demon impersonated Wukong to Macky instead and called him useless lmao.
YES WATCH MONKEY KING (2009)!!!!! THERE’S A CHANNEL THAT IS MAKING SUBTITLES FOR IT AND I LOVE THEM
2. honestly i would put my money on memory and resent are a bad mix when you’re pointing the blame.
like, we see it with the Brotherhood first (chronology in the lmk timeline) where they immediately pin SWK as the villain and a traitor. but Macky isn’t willing to think that far yet
however, Macky has his own personal issues with SWK’s constant ignoring and dismissive behavior with Macky’s concerns (which is pre-war and Havoc with Heaven) i mean, after being denied and having your doubts dismissed constantly, it gets at you and grates at you. “what does he know that makes him believe his way is better?” may be a thought that crosses the mind but loyalty shuts it up until everything goes to shut and Macky is finally proven right in his caution

There are lot of people who recently have made their best album in years. There’s Leonard Cohen, then there’s Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Paul McCartney’s Fireman album…
That’s very good, The Fireman. I never thought it would stop for Paul – and it wouldn’t have stopped with John [Lennon] either. They’re just really good songwriters, and really that’s the basis of any great record.
The Fireman surprised a lot of people who were probably split in opinion about Paul.
I know, yeah. I really love him because I’ve known him for so long. I’ve known him since I was 17. Mind you, I’ve known Keith [Richards] too since I was 17. This is now 45 years, so I’m not going to be disloyal to Paul. Anyway, I’m fond of him, and I also thought The Fireman was really good – whatever people think about him. He’s also looking much better now, now he’s not with that funny woman. I told him when I saw him in Paris last week how great the songs were, and he’s still very happy when you notice. He’s very important, Paul. Really.
Marianne Faithfull, interviewed 2009.
Marianne Faithfull is always a good interview. I love how observant she is (Paul McCartney still being needy about praise is hilarious, and rather sweet).
But also, @pennielane, @mydaroga and others were talking about Paul's reputation. It's interesting that, as late as 2009, Marianne has to negotiate a hostile/dismissive tone around him. She mentions a lot of musicians in this interview, but this is the one time she's prompted to justify liking someone. Nobody's asking her to spell out the importance of Keith Richards or Jarvis Cocker.
I feel that attitude has changed over the last decade (and drastically since Get Back). It's still weird that she needed to defend the reputation of the guy who wrote Hey Jude.

Genuinely curious of everyone’s opinion on this. Thoughts on like. the recurring theme of superheroes or vigilantes being like I cannot let my friends or s/o know abt any of it. like i get the notion of like. if the ‘civilians’ know too much it puts them at risk but. isn’t it fine if they’re like like. Hey btw i mask up and fight crime at night. Just letting you know. So. Be careful. like that kinda thing. like i understand this whole thing of keeping ur identity hidden being Sacred but if. it werent.
like not being like. Let me make my friends/partner become a person deeply involved in what i do (like behind the scenes). but just like. Hey heads up. Because. i don’t know isn’t it Worse to not know of the risk… i mean obviouslt the natural solution i guess is to Not Become Involved With Anyone. but. Not sure if that works for anyone. so i feel like. Yes it is a risk to let them know. But it’s a calculated one. i think in the long run of like. knowing that persons secret identity (and not much else, but also there is a question of how feasible that is, like how long can the vigilante/hero go without slipping up or if their friend/loved one presses for more BUT there is a component of awareness to that. i think) it helps to be more aware of certain situations??????? i just think. not knowing is worse.
there’s also like. i guess the ethical part of it? of it being like… does this superhero/vigilante really know better than me when it comes to my safety. like maybe so BUT. is it still ok for them to make decisions without letting that person know. like especially if they’re a loved one. idk. does that make sense. like the question of autonomy. and judgment. Right. especially if that person is like. i want to take that risk. ya know. idk. lots of thoughts to be thought

me spending way too much time researching tornado outbreaks in minnesota all for the purpose of giving adam some backstory in this fic i’m writing in what little free time i have is just proof that i am so so normal about him. i am not insane
#i think what we have maybe all forgotten is that minnesota is very much still a midwestern state. with all the tornadoes that come with that#from what i've been able to gather because i may be just a little insane and i've been looking through minnesota's recorded history of#tornadoes. there have been none that touched down in windom from 1990-2009#HOWEVER. the comfrey-st. peter tornado outbreak (which led to fourteen tornadoes touching down) did happen in comfrey which is like#only half an hour away from windom#and from the radar images of the supercell that caused it i've been able to scrounge up there WERE parts of the storm that went over windom#there just wasn't a vortex that touched down there.#and considering how red and yellow the part that was passing over windom was there is no doubt in my mind it was still a bit of hell#sorryyyyyy i've been fascinated by meteorology since i was little and i am always dying to give adam some backstory and this is#a perfect way i can combine the two. though you always have to be careful when addressing that sort of thing in fictional scenarios because#people's homes WERE destroyed and at least two lives were lost yknow. it was still a very real thing that happened#but i would be researching this sort of thing even if my stupid fanfic wasn't the reason behind it. the tornado that touched down in comfrey#was an f4/ef4. like it was Powerful.#from an anniversary video i watched about it that had some of the survivors speaking one woman mentioned that the radio cut out#halfway through the broadcast because the antenna had fallen#which is just terrifying to think about let alone experience#ghghghgbhb anyway. i am so normal guys i promise#azure rambles

During the recent “March for Israel” in Washington, DC, Al Jazeera interviewed a confident young man from Connecticut about the war in Gaza. Draped in an Israeli flag, Charlie appeared ready to answer any question. He made it clear from the outset that the ongoing war is not “Hamas vs Israel”, but “Hamas vs the whole world”. He said he regrets children’s deaths and prays for innocent lives lost. But he had no doubt about who is responsible for the death of civilians in Gaza. While Israel does everything to avoid civilian casualties, he said, Iran-backed Palestinian terrorists bomb their own hospitals, use civilians as human shields, and even place kids next to rocket launchers. Iran and its proxies are the source of all evil in Palestine and the region, he added. Charlie has clearly done his homework. He has studied the Israel Project’s “Global Language Dictionary [PDF]”, memorised its lines, and repeated them verbatim, not missing a beat. The playbook was created in 2009 after Israel’s first war on the besieged Gaza Strip, to guide Israel’s supporters on how best to speak to the media about the conflict. Inspired by Israel’s leading spin doctors, such as Shimon Peres and Benjamin Netanyahu, it is directed at young activists, as well as politicians, pundits, journalists and more. It tells its readers what to say, and what not to say, alerting them to words that should be used and others that mustn’t. One of my favourite tidbits in the playbook, as I wrote back in 2014, goes like this: “Avoid talking about borders in terms of pre- or post-1967, because it only serves to remind Americans of Israel’s military history. Particularly on the left, this does you harm.” And when civilian casualties mount during wartime in Gaza, the playbook recommends talking empathetically along these lines of “All human life is precious”, but emphasising that “it is a tragedy that Iran-backed Hamas shoots rockets at our civilians while hiding in their own” and that this “causes tragic deaths on both sides”. Sounds familiar?
. . . continues on Al Jazeera (20 Nov 2023)
