My Top 10 (actually 9) Dramione Fic Reccemmendations:
I am not a terribly avid reader of angst-filled fics (sorry, Manacled fans). This list will be mostly romcom / fluffy, major slow burns, and Draco POV. I have included a few more serious fics, but they are just so well written / interesting, that they made my list. Without further ado, and in no particular order, my Top 9 Dramione Fics:
1. To one one's surprise, and not being overhyped at all (I'm completely serious), is Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being in Love. This one needs no description due to its popularity, so I will only add to the hype. I have always been a fan of adventure-romance (e.g. Romancing the Stone, Princess Bride, Stardust, Love and Monsters, Shrek, A Knight's Tale, and, not to get repetitive, The Lost City), but this was the first fanfiction I read with such dedication to an interesting, funny, and, at times, suspenseful story. I also love seeing Draco fall first and his unreliable narration in Hermione's feelings for him. I adore the characterization of / relationships between characters (not just Draco and Hermione) as well as the way the author develops the existing magic system. It is definitely a slow burn with misunderstandings. I'm not a big fan of misunderstandings after they are together because I think it's lasy, and I will stop reading it. In this fic, however, the author makes sure that the 'will they won't they' isn't over done.
2. A Cosmology of Blacks, Malfoys, and Assorted Individuals. This one is in process, but updates are consistent, and I am hooked. Draco POV only. Not only does this fic have the best name, it also includes many anecdotes of Black history (particularly focused on Narcissa, Andromeda, and Bellatrix) while also tying in a romance plot. The story begins with Andromeda confronting Narcissa, and the Black family to be reunited. Draco meets Hermione again for the first time post-graduation, but something is wrong with Hermione's magic. They slowly become friends and Draco develops feelings. This one is on the angsty side, but it's nothing dark or war-based. It is decidedly cosy. I absolutely love any fic that casts a parallel between Andromeda and Ted and Draco and Hermione (I also love supportive Harry who compares them to his parents).
3. The Disappearances of Draco Malfoy. This is another popular one that deserves the hype. This one was outside my comfort zone as it is fairly heavy on the angst. BUT I think it is a really imaginative retelling of DH. If you are unfamiliar, the author rewrites the end of HBP wherein Draco accepts Dumbledore's offer of help. He is then forced to accept the protection of people who hate him and whom he hates. This is a true Enemies to Friends to Lovers story. It has a mixed POV. This story is full of mystery, suspense, plot twists, romance, and angst. This is another one that explores the magic system in an interesting way.
4. It Happened in Egypt is another romcom adventure fic. It is funny, mysterious, and action-packed. In this story, Hermione is in Egypt on a 'holiday' and runs into Draco who is drunk and has been robbed (no wallet or wand). As the author says, this fic is a love story to the Nile and Egyptian Mythology. Great for history lovers. And while this story is a relatively quick burn, there is still a major chunk of mutual pining.
5. Scary Partner Privilege is another in progress piece, but it is so creative. It is Draco POV. He and Hermione (a no-nonsense-to-the-point-of-rudeness cop) are paired as elite aurors. Each chapter is a different case like in Brooklyn 99 or other cop shows with the overall plot of their tumble into romance. This Hermione is a complete BAMF, and Draco is a darling.
6. Distance is a split POV fic. Hermione is a new Unspeakable and Draco is an auror who hasn't been given a real case. They end up teaming up to investigate a mysterious magical figurine. Another adventure fic set in the Indus Valley. Such a fun concept. Another one that is a good read for history lovers.
7. Lavender Scones and Second Chances is the final in progress story I have on this list. This story is mostly here for vibes (cosy) because the research that brought them together is more periphery than anything. But it is still a sweet story that I am excited to watch develop.
8. Love and Other Historical Accidents is Jane Austen meets Harry Potter. Hermione and Draco get sent back to the late Georgian / early Regency period in magical Wiltshire. Lots of classic Austen tropes and plot lines. It is an established dynamic between them, and Draco is already in love with Hermione.
9. Soft As It Began is a unique story wherein Harry vanished the day after the Battle of Hogwarts. Almost 5 years later, Hermione, with help from Draco (they are investigative journalists), travels around Europe looking for him. This story plays with the story of The Three Brothers and the Deathly Hallows. I just love all the characterizations in this fic.

Get to know a writer!
Thanks for the tags, @misdemeanor1331 and @heyjude19-writing!
How many works do you have on AO3?
Somehow... 39
What’s your total AO3 word count?
1,090,482
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
just Harry Potter
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Every Part of Me (Draco x Hermione)
The Memory of You (Draco x Hermione, Hermione x Blaise, Draco x Astoria)
Guarding the Dragon (Draco x Hermione)
Perfect Timing (Sirius x Hermione)
Pureblood Traditions (Draco x Hermione x Lucius) collaboration with @smithandbarrowman
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I really, really try to. Sometimes I do fall behind and then will start over again. I was really good for a couple of chapters and then I didn’t reply to the comments on the last one. It mainly comes down to a choice between spending my time replying or writing, and writing usually wins out.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I don’t really write angsty endings. Angsty stories, yes. I don’t think I need to answer which of my stories has the most angst. 😂
Do you write crossovers? If so what’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I do not.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Who hasn’t?
Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I write a whole range of smut. It depends on what I think the scene calls for. I can do emotional or just straight up filth.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I’ve had pieces of my fics stolen, but not a whole piece to my knowledge.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! I’m always going to say yes to anyone who asks to translate!
What’s your all time favorite ship?
Dramione
Whats a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I will finish anything I have that’s a WIP. It may take me awhile to finish the Blaise POV for The Memory of You, though. I’ve picked Alone Together back up and will hopefully start updating that again soon!
What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue. Inner angst/musings.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Never having a plan, for sure. I’m working on it before I start writing anything else.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I’d want to make sure it was correct so I would look for someone who speaks the language! Fandom community has people from all over!
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter - and I’ve never stepped outside of it!
What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?
I honestly can’t answer this right now. Most of the time, I’d probably say Guarding the Dragon just because it’s so much fun. I’m hoping that The Memory of You will take that spot once it’s done, but we’ll see.

What are some of your favorite fanfics??
Some of my favorites?
God’s Righteous Man by DumpsterDiving101 (@dansphlevels)
A story in which the serum doesn't affect Steve's size, the shield goes to Bucky, and they reunite years before the Battle of New York. Also, Steve is a punk, but that's canon.
A timeline starting with the Howling Commandos and going all the way to Pre-Infinity War.
(I cant properly express my love for this fic. The characterizations of Steve and bucky are just *chefs kiss*)
Can’t Take The Kid From The Fight by chchchchcherrybomb, vinegarandglitter
It's 2006. Connor Murphy's back in California high society after getting kicked out of boarding school. Evan Hansen just got arrested for stealing a car. It's a little easier to be an outsider when you're not alone.
An AU inspired by The O.C.
(It took me 3 all-nighters to finish it, but worth every single second. I reread it sometimes during my angst episodes)
All The Young Dudes by MsKingBean89
LONG fic charting the marauders' time at Hogwarts (and beyond) from Remus' PoV - diversion from canon in that Remus's father died and he was raised in a children's home, and is a bit rough around the edges. Otherwise canon-compliant. 1971 - 1995
(3 days? or 4? I cant remember but H O LY S H I T this is a must-read)
HAMILTON, An American FanFiction (Lams) by PurgatoryFairy
In a world where reincarnates are looked down upon in society, there are the ones who try to change it for the better. Lin-Manuel Miranda is 5 years into writing his soon to be, hit musical 'Hamilton', and when an unexpected meeting with the very people he was writing about happens, where will their stories lead?
Basically a story when Lin befriends the Hamilton crew and they all finish writing the musical, they preform it, and they fight for reincarnate and LGBT+ rights.
(Another one I like to reread. Its literal perfection.)
The Brightest Black by Enigmaticrose4 (@enigmaticrose4)
On that fateful Halloween night Bellatrix Lestrange decided to sate her bloodlust on an innocent muggleborn family. Life is never again the same for the Most Noble and Ancient House of Black. - Dramione AU
(The first time I read this was on ffnet and I got halfway through before losing my progress. I remembered it a year later on ao3 and finished it.)
Those are all the ones I can think of off the top of my head
I’ll probably rb with more if I find them

sometimes people tag you in things and they are Wrong. SOMETIMES @ongreenergrasses tags you and says it is good and important to talk about women and you know what. they’re just right. all the time
anyway i was tagged to post 10 favorite female characters from 10 different fandoms (hoo boy that’s gonna be a challenge) so !!!
1. hermione granger - the fandom that shall not be mentioned because look. the source material and the author are garbage, really, but at this point i’ve been in or tangential to this fandom since i was like. 12? probably? and she’s grown legs that have little to do with the source material. (but also -- know-it-all? hard to like? please it’s me, i read dramione fic just to feel emotions for mySELF, i love her so much)
2. darcy lewis - the fandom of which i personally will not speak, because they found-family baited me and turned it into a war instead. last year ashley made me watch the first cap movie and got me onto the bucky barnes love train, which coincidentally had a leg of the journey on the darcy lewis love train? it was an odd (wonderful), interesting time. i love the way that she gets written about (i have not seen the first thor and you will not make me sorry) -- darcy has so much of a character that may be wholecloth fanon but it is one that I LOVE. it is a lot of stiles-style voice in a superhero universe in kat denning’s body and i just. feel so much joy when i get to read her. (seriously, you won’t catch me watching thor 1) (peggy i love you too but i simply cannot paste myself onto you in the same way, i’m so sorry sweetie)
3. SOPHIE HATTER FROM HOWL’S MOVING CASTLE. is hmc a fandom? we don’t know. do we care? also no. sophie is the character that first got me on board with the idea that it’s... idk, okay to be old? it sounds terrible to say it (and in the face of the fact that she’s young-but-grey by the end of it, who knows what that means) but she was old and she was HAPPIER for it and i think that her story is so much about... making or finding your own joy? something out of her control happened to her and she decided that she was done making fucking hats and went to be her own self (and then ended up with... all that. sorry sophie but also i’m happy for you)
4. allura - vld. allura, honey. i’m so sorry for all those things that s8 thinks it made happen to you. fuck that we write our own story, s8 who? but seriously allura is... so underrated and under-looked at, i think, outside of lotura and allurance, which is a crime. i mean, consider a) what she was going through up until she ended up in stasis and b) the world that she came out of stasis into!! in the first season alone she has to sacrifice what is functionally her father’s living memory just to save herself and the others and i just. allura has SO much strength and yet she has so much brightness and joy in her. allura is their leader as the princess and then she transitions so smoothly into the blue lion and she is SO happy to be there and i just. i just want her to have a chance outside of wartime. everyone deserves that, but allura especially to me.
5. nani from lilo and stitch. is there a fandom for this? i still don’t care. regardless, nani is an on-screen equivalent of what SO much of my teenage / young adult years were (and my siblings have two living parents!!) and i just find her so relatable. she’s trying so hard but she’s not infallible. she’s just a kid, too.
6. gideon the ninth from the locked tomb series. gideon, you are so dumb and i love you so much (john mulaney voice). how am i supposed to put into words the way i felt reading the first book through her pov? just a genuine delight ok (please go read these books)
7. uraraka ochako from bnha. i did not expect to like ochako when i started this series. (i didn’t expect to like anyone except for bk, honestly, and then i saw mina’s perfect pink everything, but that is neither here nor there) but what she means to me is... i was afraid i was going to witness the sakura experience all over again? i think i got sold on her when she first admitted why she wanted to be a hero... she is so earnest but so much more stubborn than she gets credit for, a lot of times, and every time i see her i just smile. (honorary mentions for tsu and mina because seriously, i was in love with mina from the moment i knew she was pink all over) (also mirko but that is mostly just because. she’s so hot. guys she’s just so hot.)
8. riza hawkeye from fma. i don’t think i even need to make a case here. i love her so much and when she is on screen my enjoyment goes up by 15%
9. yennefer from the witcher. we simply stan yen in this house. she has had a hard and complicated life and her story is ALSO hard and complicated and you know what. she doesn’t /deserve/ it but she does deserve respect for it and also i love her.
10. lup theadventurezone. i just love her so much. much like riza she ALSO requires no explanation, sorry.
tagging -- @ofmermaidstories @unintentionalgenius (hayls got you already but i love you too much not to tag you sorry) @grimghostkid uhhhhh and anyone else that wants to do it!

35 Questions for Fanfiction Writers! ✨
5. What’s the fic you’re most proud of?
Well, I suspect my most proud of has yet to be written... Which will either be ABO saphne or my bridgerton dramione. Of what is currently written, though, is my Rebelcaptain post - Rogue One fic, you held on tight and I built a home. It's a legit what if they had survived fic and I put in so much research and it's so raw and emotional and I love it.
8. Which character(s) do you find easiest to write?
Oh God... Women that love their men. That feels so boring to say, but I just love when a person truly loves their partner, and particularly women that have been raised in a world where gender ideals suppress them and then they meet a man that loves them for who they are and supports them in their goals. Like, actual happiness and healthy relationships is my favorite trope.
9. Which character(s) do you find most difficult to write?
So, the most difficult characters for me to write are those keeping secrets and it's because I struggle to explain what's going on without revealing secrets. I tend to shy away from writing their pov, because if I want the other characters to be surprised at how something turns out, then I want the audience to be surprised as well. So this means characters like Draco Malfoy, Cassian Andor... Guys with secrets. Please note that this does not carry over to Simon Basset, because I do not want him to keep his secrets lol. His secrets cause too many problems, dammit.
26. Is there anything you’ve wanted to write, but you’ve been too scared to try?
For tropes, I've always wanted to do ABO. I've actually written a fair amount but never posted it. I would love to actually post it. For ship specific, I really want to do pureblood Hermione. I've even started on a fic, but a few people I chatted about it with didn't like my proposed idea, so that's sitting dead in the water right now.
29. Have you ever gone outside of your comfort zone for a fic? How did it turn out?
So actually, and this is funny because now I'm known for my smut, but, I was not confident with it at all. Like, I wrote it, but I needed more practice. So, I participated in a smut weekend and wrote 47 short prompt based fics over 3 days. Nearly 40k words. And now, I feel much more confident writing it.

They were both too young to know how to love.
Of course leave it to Harry Potter to be what drags me back into writing fan fiction. Apologies to people who follow me already since this is pretty different from posts I’ve done in the past, so feel free to ignore.
I just wanted to try and get some thoughts out about a fanfiction I’m currently writing, specifically the relationship between Harry and Daphne. Or the lack of one right now anyway. ;)
The basic background is that this is a soulmate AU with soulmate marks and empathy/semi-telepathy (I’m not sure what to call it honestly). The three main ships are Dramione, Ransy, and Pottgrass, and it’s a slowburn enemies to lovers starting from Goblet of Fire on. Emphasis on slowburn and enemies considering two of the involved are Draco and Pansy.
Before I started writing again, the only ones of those three I shippped/read fanfiction of were Draco/Hermione and Pansy/Ron. I originally picked Daphne because I’d read fics that had her as a character and liked her in them; after that I read two fanfics that made me really ship them, because the amount of ships I have due to fanart/fanfic is huge. (Previously I was, and actually still am, a Nottgrass shipper because I am a multi-shipper a lot of the time.)
I’m going to put the rest of my rambling under the cut.
So there are a couple different things going on here. The most superficial was that, when I had started writing, I’d been re-watching the Lizzie Bennet Diaries so I was a bit influenced by Pride and Prejudice when writing Daphne at first. Specifically the inspiration was Matthew Macfaden’s Darcy from the 2005 movie and Daniel Vincent Gordh’s William Darcy from LBD. (And as an aside Astoria was slightly based on Georgianna from the 2005 movie and Gigi Darcy from LBD.)
The inspiration became less strong the more I wrote, but her being standoffish/cold/rude to non-Slytherins (except Astoria) and the scene where Daphne tries to make a deal with Harry was inspired by Darcy's first, horrible proposal to Elizabeth. But that’s the shallower reason, let’s get into the meat of it, which is background vs appearance.
Harry Potter was orphaned at the age of one years old, was raised in an abusive family who didn’t even give him a room for ten years, had no friends until he got to Hogwarts, and was lied to by the Dursleys’ about what his parents were actually like. There were no pictures of his parents, he wasn’t told they were a witch and wizard, and he didn’t even know they were murdered. When he is told about his parents, he is given the romanticized view of James and Lily and their relationship. He thinks they were the perfect picture of soulmates, as he hasn’t been told that James was once a jerk that Lily really disliked. His first real experience of familial love was with the Weasleys and thinks of them as the best family in the world. Daphne knows nothing of this aside from the fact that he was raised by muggles; I don’t think she thought much about Harry at all outside of times parts of his adventures were found out by the school. Like the flying car incident. As she said in the fanfic, Harry just sort of existed to Daphne.
Harry is only fourteen years old at the start of the fic, and has only had a crush on Cho at this point, but he does know that he wants to have the real love and respect his parents had. He wants to have a family of his own that would actually be loving. He doesn’t want his potential future children to grow up without love. And, most importantly, he doesn’t think Daphne is capable of that.
What Harry knows about Daphne’s background is that she’s part of an old, wealthy pureblood family a la the Malfoys or the Parkinsons. (He wouldn’t know the term Sacred Twenty-Eight.) That’s pretty much it and would be about the amount of knowledge all the students from the other houses would know (except for Astoria, the Ravenclaw little sister, who is just as uncomfortable as Daphne when asked to talk about their parents). Harry is also generally dismissive of Slytherin house as a whole thanks to Draco and his gang; he thought they looked like a “pale and unpleasant lot'' at the Welcome Feast in first year.
Here’s how Daphne comes across to the kids outside of Slytherin: standoffish; doesn’t seem to talk much outside of class participation, and is often sarcastic when she does; doesn’t seem to have friends outside of Slytherin and the only non-Slytherin she is consistently genuinely affection towards is her little sister, and not everyone sees that; while not a member of Pansy’s gang is still known to be a good friend of Pansy’s, and is also close to Blaise who is seen as equally snobby.
(Speaking of Blaise, Daphne still wants to know why she’s the only one to get an insulting nickname like Ice Queen when Blaise and Theo are often just as anti-social towards the other houses as she is. In Theo’s case, more so. XD)
Of course, it’s easy to sympathize with Daphne when you know what her background is really like. Her parents, despite being soulmates, have an absolutely toxic relationship that their daughters had to witness: “Daphne Greengrass hadn’t been a fan of the soulmate concept for years now. She could even pinpoint the exact moment her disillusionment started: the night before her sixth birthday when her father finally told her mother that, soulmates or not, he had never loved her and had only married her out of both obligation to the bond and to the alliance with her family. This had then turned into a screaming match in her father’s study accompanied by the sound of glass being thrown at a wall.” This is just one incident.
Daphne was so used to her parents arguing (and to be really clear, I’m not talking about normal arguments couples have; I’m talking about full-blown trying to verbally/emotionally hurt the other as possible or just arguing to try and win against the other person) that she was already making it her job to comfort Astoria, who “was still a baby, and upset by it”. Daphne has grown up with a very dim view of romance and romantic love.
Now, Daphne does know that people can be genuinely in love. For all their many, many faults, Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy are devoted to each other. Pansy’s parents aren’t on the same level, but are loving/affectionate enough with each other. However, she doesn’t think love and happiness are guaranteed so it’s better to have something more solid like respect or trust. However, that is hard to get across to Harry because she’s grown up to think being emotional is bad/a weakness and it’s hard for her to open up to people she doesn’t know well. (Pansy was her first friend at five years old and is still her best friend up until this point; it’s also the reason her other friends are the Slytherins she’s known for years at this point. People she’s used to.)
She could have approached Harry differently, flirted, or suggested dating, or tried to be romantic but she would have thought of that as dishonest/manipulative. Because Daphne knows love isn’t guaranteed for soulmates. Because Daphne knows she’s not the most likeable person. Because Daphne isn’t sure she could love Harry and doesn’t want to lie about it. Yes, Slytherins are all about cunning and clever ways to get what they want, but this is one of the areas Daphne would not even consider something like that. For all her issues, Daphne does have some standards.
Self-control and (just control in general) is something Daphne clings to because her parents were often unpredictable and she had to create a sense of being in control of her life. Her father is not a warm or empathetic person and he looks down on people being too emotional. (Yes, this is supposed to be hypocritical considering he’d get into screaming matches with his wife.) He would be out of the house a lot for both work and to get away from his wife. Her mother was emotionally and mentally in a bad place for a long time and withdrew from her children a bit. She improved by the time Daphne was at school, but her favorite is clearly Astoria for reasons that will be expanded on later. Daphne tells herself she gets it because Astoria is her favorite family member too. (Also I just want to make this clear, Daphne and Astoria are close siblings who genuinely love and care about each other. Daphne is also Astoria’s favorite family member. Their relationship, as I like to see/write it could be another post though so moving on.)
This need for self-control also was because of the stutter she had growing up. She was already self-conscious about it and she was very aware that her parents (her father in particular) saw it as a problem, which stressed her out more and made her stutter worse. The more emotional she’d get, the more likely she’d stutter. Whereas the more comfortable she was, the less often it happened. Pansy already mentioned in one of her POV’s that she barely heard Daphne stutter around her after a while; not a huge spoiler or surprise, but it was the same with Astoria. One of Daphne’s pre-Hogwarts tutors was essentially a wizard speech therapist, so she had it under control by first year but it was still recent enough at the time that she was pretty afraid of slipping up at school. Also consider the fact that some students (not just Slytherins either, but from all houses) made fun of Quirrell's stutter, and he was a teacher. (Yes he was evil, and only pretending to have one, but they didn’t know that then.) How much worse would the teasing be for a first year student? So as her father told her, sometimes it’s better not to talk at all.
Harry doesn’t know any of this.
Before things really started in the fanfic, Harry’s one interaction with Daphne that really stood out to him was that time she was sarcastic to him in first year after his first Quidditch game: “You know my family made the snitches used at Hogwarts. Please try not to choke on another of them next time.” When fourth year started, she ignored him completely in the Great Hall, and didn’t help her friend in a way he didn’t recognize/understand.
The next day, Daphne sends him a note ordering him to meet her during lunch, after not acknowledging him in public. (As Harry says, she didn’t even write please. It also didn’t ask him for a date and time to talk, just told him to meet her in a specific location.) When he asked if she was proposing to date him, she “made a truly exasperated sounding noise” which definitely hurt his pride a little. She also tried to approach a relationship (not necessarily even a romantic relationship, just in general) with him, someone she has barely spoken to,  like a business deal, which he thinks is a cold way to look at it and he loses his temper. However, it should be noted that she asked him why when he rejected her out of hand and well, don’t ask a question you wouldn’t want an answer to.
Later on he sees her picking on a second year for seemingly no reason. In reality, this is a girl who did something to her sister and Daphne doesn’t let things like that slide when it comes to people she cares about.
Now afterwards things get murkier because Daphne is wanting to freeze him out/ignore him, but he is the one to poke at her. The soulmate bond is like an outside force that pushes down on two people to try and force them together, which can be downright unbearable if you really don’t like the other person. Harry finds the pressure it puts on them very hard and is stunned when she acts like she’s not affected at all. (He’d feel better if he knew she was feeling it just as much as him. Sort of like how Hermione and Ron both take comfort in the fact that Draco and Pansy are having as bad a time with the bond as they are.) He’s already under stress from the situation with his scar hurting and Sirius leaving his hideout to come back to England because of it, now add on to that the stress of an outside magical force trying to bond him to a girl he doesn't like and who doesn’t like him. No, he’s not handling it in a great way, but he’s young.
And Daphne could always try and talk to him about things good (sending him a song through the bond to help him sleep when worry for Sirius was keeping him up) and bad (the incident with the second year), but she doesn’t try. Partly it’s out of pride, but largely it’s because she’s developed unhealthy coping skills that she doesn’t realize are unhealthy.

Hi! Love your World of W&H fics, they're really favorites of mine. I'd like to ask about 2 things that are usually a big deal in dramione fics but don't play a big role on yours. 1) Hermione's relationship with Ron post break up, aside from disaster dinner, we don't really see Ron again (same goes for B&E). What do you picture their relationship like? Are they still close friends or are they just close because of the Weasleys and Harry&Ginny?
cont. 2) Media and the public reactions to their relationship is not something that you talk about (I only remember Draco saying they like to hang out on the muggle world so they don't get recognized). Is that something you thought about, and if so, would you mind sharing your take, or it just doesn't matter and you never even taken in consideration? / thanks for writing such amazing work!
hello friend! thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear you enjoy my stories!
screen time for ron and hermione’s post-relationship friendship was an unfortunate casualty of the way I ended up telling the stories in both w&h and b&e. in w&h, even though it was told through hermione’s pov, because of the nature of her situation I thought it was likely that ron would have distanced himself for a while out of respect for what they all knew were complicated feelings (which was very much confirmed for them all at the disaster dinner). i imagine they started spending a bit more time in each other’s orbits once things started improving between her and draco, which is what made their conversation at james’s birthday possible. and that conversation is very much my headcanon for them in w&h world; the things they had in common were people and places, shared experiences and all that. outside of school and a war they get along just fine but they don't...really have all that much in common. so they’re still friends because you don't go through *all that* with someone and just...stop being friends. but they enjoy each others company the most when harry is also around; that’s their dynamic. i really wanted the ron thing to not be that big of a deal. and then in b&e, since it’s told entirely from draco’s pov, ron didn’t have much of a place in that story. but if it had been told from hermione’s pov, we definitely would have seen more ron as they worked through being awkward exes and rebalancing their friendship dynamic over the years.
as for the media. that omission is entirely self serving. i never cared for those story lines in the books and I always felt like the weird obsession a paper had with children’s lives was just...intrusive and annoying. so I had literally zero desire to write much about that at length. so yes, there are moments where I snuck in lines about favoring the muggle world for the anonymity, but for the most part I left that plotline untouched. there was enough going on without it in both stories. so my mental gymnastics was as follows: in w&h, st mungos and the ministry actually protected patient/employee privacy so hermione’s injury wasn’t a matter of public consumption. and in b&e, they avoided making waves with their time spent in the muggle world and then later because draco heavily bribed them to leave him the fuck alone.
thank you so much for reading and for stopping by with questions for me! these have been so fun to answer!! <3

All Your Villains: Aldrich Killian
Author’s note: I keep seeing that “cancel culture” post where the OP is being slammed for being a Dramione shipper and it made me finally want to write this short fic series I’ve been imagining, all from the POVs of various MCU villains. Not coincidentally, I cannot spell the word villain to save my own life. It’s probably Freudian.
Tumblr media
He is weeping on the roof when he decides to do it himself. He knows he needs help from someone, anyone. He just doesn’t want to hurt anymore. So much of him is ache and pain: his lungs are filled with knives when he can’t get air, the dull throb of hips and knees that are chronically out of alignment and wearing away his joints from the moment he wakes and starts weight bearing on them until he sleeps again, ankles that swell like bread dough rises (edema, the doctor says, compression hose) when he stands in lines, the waves of real, soul-deep pain when he stutters and sees mirth in someone else’s eyes. He will do it himself, if he has to. He has his mind. He has always had his mind.
The phone call comes a few days later. “Mr. Killian?” Maya’s voice says on the other end. He takes it as a sign. He will take any sign.
She tells him not to test Extremis on himself. But he is so tired. She doesn’t understand his tiredness, he thinks, because she is not constantly in negotiation with the world. Where she sees a two-minute walk to and from the parking lot to their lab, he sees an obstacle course: the high curb he has to clamor over, praying for luck (don’t slip again don’t slip again), that he won’t find his legs sliding out from under him (the nearest ramp is fifty feet farther away and dangerously textured for his iffy balance on his cane, it would be safer if he was in his wheelchair, but that wears out his arms, the strongest part of him and what he primarily uses in the labs, he used one for awhile, but then there was that torn shoulder muscle and the endless searches for ramps, the inaccessible parts of buildings, everything is a compromise between difficult choices), the walk that feels like forever when it is cold and his joints are stiff, getting around the smokers who cluster around the entrance steps and having to ask them to move so he can use the railing as railing to heft his body up. He is shy by nature; his body makes his shyness excruciating.
Once, he said excuse me to one of them outside the building and the man leaned his body closer against the railing, either oblivious or fucking with him purposefully. He was forced to stutter it out. “I--I need to u-use th-that,” he’d said.
“Oh, sorry,” the man said, stepping aside and waving his cigarette. Aldrich had tried not to breathe in the smoke. He wonders if the chuckles he hears as he shifts towards the door are aimed at him and hears Tony Stark’s voice in his head (when he is not invisible, he is a joke).
He is so tired of devoting this much energy to a two-minute walk. When Maya has left for the day (on feet that do not hurt), he gives it to himself and waits. He begins to shake, to convulse in his chair. Across the room, a lab rat circles in its wheel. “Better me than you,” Aldrich whispers to himself, wondering if they will find him dead in the morning.

Fic tag game (?)
I was tagged by the ever-lovely @stardust-blake (Thank you!! This was fun!! I’m sorry this took so long, I’ve been at uni and just got back to my laptop.)
1. what is your most popular fic by kudos? comments? bookmarks? are they all the same?
Most popular is Begging Me to Beg for You for all three (idk why, it was so bad omg)
2. do you have a favourite of your fics? if not, do you have one you’re most proud of? why?
I think my favourite fic to write was Season’s Greetings, because the idea came to me from pretty much nowhere and it was just cute and fluffy.  But the fic I’m most proud of is IDGAF because I never actually intended to write it, and it was my second smut fic but I just felt like it actually worked that time?  If that makes sense. I didn’t want to go and hide in a corner after I published it like I did for BMTBFY.
3. what fandom/ship (if you write for more than one) is your favourite to write for?
I think bellarke are my favourites to write for, just because it’s the easiest for me.  With dramione, it always felt like the fandom was so big, and everyone only ever read works from a handful of readers (I know in actuality it’s not like that, but at 15 it felt like that).  And I am never going to attempt a Jon/Dany because the game of thrones/ASOIAF universe is so big I don’t even want to think about it, which is why I ended u writing Kit/Emilia instead, which does make me uncomfortable now and I wouldn’t write it again.  I just wanted a Jon/Dany modern AU without having to know the ins and outs of how Winterfell worked etc.
4. do you have any fics that got more popularity/attention than you expected? if so what were they?
BMTBFY.  I should have seen this coming, since it was a smut fic, but I sort of just wrote it and left it and now it has over 5k hits which I wasn’t expecting at all.  And I actually don’t think this fic is any good so I’m still shocked when I see people reading it/leaving kudos.
5. where do you get your ideas/inspiration from? do you have a fic that you feel is particularly unique in that area?
Almost every single fic I have written is because of something that has happened to me in my real life (except the canonverse ones obvs).  But Season’s Greetings was inspired by a text message I saw where their friend mistakenly thought they’d called them “honey” when they were asking for honey flavouring.  The inspiration for Winter Winds was me stood outside my work waiting for a lift off my mum thinking “wow I wish one of my friends would drive past and pick me up.”  But then that seemed weird to write so I changed it to what it became.  And That’s a Wrap was me wrapping my family Christmas presents for about three hours straight thinking I should monopolise it, alas someone stole my idea. As for unique fics, I’ve got one coming that feel unique, but I’ve only been reading bellarke for a few months so idk if someone’s already written it yet.
6. do you have a favourite character to write POV for?
I like to switch, just to give the full view of the situations.  But I’ve always naturally slipped into Clarke’s POV (I think that stems from YEARS of reading every single fic from Hermione’s POV and being completely thrown when I read anything from Draco’s so now female POV just feel natural? idk).
I think I’m more like Bellamy in how I react to situations so that’s a bit easier to write, but I think I talk more like Clarke than any other character, so her dialogue is easier to write?  In all honesty, I just write whatever I think of and do a lot of editing later so I don’t really take much notice of what I’m feeling when i’m writing.
7. what’s your favourite side pairing to include?
I’ve not had much change to write anything including a side pairing, but I love Lincoln/Octavia and Miller/Monty or Miller/Jackson (I just need Miller to be happy okay?)
8. do you have a fic you feel is underrated in comparison to your other fics? or you just wish more people would read?
I just wish everyone who read BMTBFY actually went and read IDGAF because it was actually a lot better (in my opinion, and my sister’s.)  But I don’t have that many fics published so?
9. what’s something you would go back and change in one of your fics?
hahahaha everything.  I once wrote a dramione fic that I’m scared to go back a look at.  But tbh, I will eventually hate anything I’ve ever done if I stare at it for long enough, so there’s a lot I’d change and it’s nothing major, just scenes that could do with rewriting or something.
10. what is your favourite sort of comment to receive on a fic?
Any comment.
11. what are your favourite genres of fic to write? (e.g. modern au, hurt/comfort, fluff, angst, etc.)
I think I feel most comfortable writing Modern AUs, as long as I never try and emulate any kind of US culture (bc I know nothing), but fluff all the way, I can’t write angst for shit.  So fluff all the way.
12. what are your favourite tropes to write?
Gotta love a good friend to lovers trope.  I’ve not written many tropes yet, but hopefully I’ll get inspired and get chance to work on some stuff.
13. do you write fics similar to what you enjoy reading or completely different? both?
hmm sometimes.  I mean, I enjoy writing modern AUs, but that’s a very broad topic and I’ve read a lot of AUs. I generally avoid reading anything with Clarke of Bellamy dying and I don’t think I could write that, but tbh I’ll read almost anything but I’m quite picky about what I write.
14. what’s your writing process like?
If it’s something I want to be good, I’ll write it out entirely by hand and then type it up.  And I almost always have to write everything in chronological order and then work backwards once the bulk of it is there.  Editing takes me forever though.  I need a lot of tea and music and usually take about 15 minute breaks because I’m easily distracted.  But if I’m writing a scene that I can feel rather than just see in my mind’s eye then I cannot stop writing it until it’s done.
15. multi-chapter, oneshot, or drabble?
Back when I first started reading fanfic a drabble was 100 words or less, but now it seems to be more?  So I’m gonna say a drabble (anything up to 5k) is easier for me because I can write it in a day or two and then edit it quickly.  But I like writing one-shots too. And I’ve never done a multichapter so idk.
16. if someone was only going to read one of your fics, which would you want them to read?
This is a tough once, because I’d want them to read the one I’m writing now because it’s actually a proper fic instead of a drabble.  But I’d say any of them, they’re all quite similar (sort of).
Is there anyone left to do this that hasn’t?  Idk who to tag?  If you see this, consider yourself tagged!

3 of 3: What are 3 dramione fics which you've read at least 3 times and will read at least 3 times more? Explain why if you feel like it :-). Thanks for your awesomeness!
The ones I read over and over tend to be one-shots… here are three of many:
Who Trumps Who? by margaritama - MA, one-shot - Draco remembers what it is to be a Malfoy. He has every intention of destroying Ron Weasley, slowly and methodically.
Manipulative!Draco done right
Evil!Ron bashing at its finest
Somewhat? Redeemed!Draco
The Banfhlath and the Priñs by MaryRoyale - T, one-shot -Medieval!AU In the Celtic Dal Hogwarts, the feuding kindred of Gryffindor and Slytherin seek peace. Hermione, banfhlath of Gryffindor is given in marriage to Draco, priñs of Slytherin. Will she be accepted by his people, or will she always be an outsider? Dramione.
Historical AU… I love historical AUs
Warrior!Hermione… because… Warrior!Hermione
A macabre yet happy ending
The Best Laid Plans… by ningloreth - M, one-shot - Give your house-elves an inch of freedom and some of them will take a mile. Luckily, this house-elf has a heart of gold.
Unique POV
I’m not going to say anything else… just read it.

DRAMIONE FICS IN PROGRESS
I currently have several Dramione works in progress with good amounts already written, but I really want to focus on one at a time to get them completed. I just can’t decide where to start.
I value the opinions of each followers, and I’m eager to know which the readers would be most anxious to read. Please look over the list and tell me what you think! Reblog with your opinions, tag the numbers you like best, shoot me a private message, however you want to give me feed back, it is very much appriciated! XOXO
1 - Dramione with mild Beauty & the Beast undertones (angsty with potential smut) Setting: Malfoy Manor during the war •The Snatchers bring Hermione to Malfoy Manor where only Draco remains. He orders them to leave her, and they obey. It would be foolish not to obey. He keeps her as prisoner but can’t fathom how ungrateful she’s being. After all she is safe here, provided with gourmet meals, a luxurious bed, even a grand ballroom at her disposal. Draco beleives he is keeping her from a worse fate, it is about time she believes it, too.
2 - Dramione with a theme of Draco’s friendship with Moaning Myrtle (true to character, follows original HBP timeline, potential love story and/or smut) Setting: Hogwarts, sixth year •Draco stumbles into an unlikely friendship with a ghostly girl who in her former life, despite being a bright Ravenclaw witch, was a relentlessly teased and degraded muggleborn student. Draco can’t help but notice she reminds him of someone. He finally found someone who listens to him, now if only Granger would stop nosing around.
3 - Dramione imprisoned by Voldemort (dark themes, may require some trigger warnings) Setting: Dungeon of Malfoy Manor, 7th year during war •Draco is given heinous orders by the Dark Lord, and this is his third and final chance to redeem himself in those red eyes. If he fails, both their lives will be lost, but if he conquers, would he even be able to live with himself? Draco shudders at the thought as the Dark Lord pushes him through the cellar door. He falls on his knees before the other prisoner. Hermione Granger lifts her head off the stone floor enough to give him a look of pure disdain.
4 - Dramione and the forgotten identity (obliviation, some mystery, equal parts fluff/angst) Setting: Muggle London, post Hogwarts •It was like seeing a ghost, was he seeing a ghost? Everyone thought she was dead, Potter himself had confirmed it, even held a bloody funeral! But there she was, working behind the desk of a muggle library. Granger looked at him as if she hadn’t loathed him for 7 years. Hell, she looked at him like she had never seen him before in her life. This was quite an unexpected opportunity. (Inspired by my favorite fic, Thirteenth Night by Nelpher)
5 - Dramione in hiding (isolation & romance) Setting: A seaside cottage during the war •It was a wonder he got them out of Malfoy Manor alive, or maybe she got them out. Either way, here they were with only each other; no wands and no idea what was happening in the outside world. Hermione had injuries that required attention, and the Dark Lord was now aware Draco’s allegiance had changed. There was no going back, they would have to remain in this old cottage with only the ocean and each other until the storm passed. Would that be tomorrow, in 50 years, or ever? (^actually posted the prologue for this one under an edit I made, search my tags for seaside cottage)
*authors note: there is always a potential for smut, obviously I adore angst and isolating the pair, and I tend to write from Draco’s POV.
