So I clearly have a very strong preference for enemies to lovers, exes to lovers, and amnesia fics (which isn't that surprising because The Vow is my favourite movie). I do have some other fics that I love, but I personally feel like they need really strong trigger warnings, and I don't want to do that to someone else fic in a public post, so you can message me if you want (although they're all fairly well-known).

Before proceeding I would like to explain the list I made, first of all, these are based on the fics I've been reading since April because before that I didn't make monthly fic recs and didn't have a proper tag for the fics I read. In the end, just scrolling endlessly through my posts to find the fics I read before would take too long so I decided to just start with April 💜 this are the fics that I've thought about constantly during the boring days.

fyi the numbers are just there to show how many, they don't mean anything. Also before clicking, please read all the warnings the author's put before proceeding.

I will also be doing a separate December fic recs post since I read a lot that I enjoyed but didn't include here.

This one I thought so much about and took inspiration from whenever I wrote a fic where the characters got high. It's sensual, spicy, and blond peter parker is an absolute menace.

2. Hide and Seek by @softtdaisy (tasm!peter)

This is incredibly soft with the perfect amount of feels. It's rare that I read anything without smut (what can I say, I'm thirsty always) but this one was amazing and just screams peter parker to me.

3. Sweet Girl of Mine by @inklore (tasm!peter)

this was one of the first things I read of Laura's and fell in love immediately. Peter is a menace in this one and if you want that man to praise you this fic is the way to go.

Peter, Alone by @light-yaers (peter parker x michelle)

I was deep into the mcu!peter x Michelle hole and while scouring tumble for fics for them this one popped up, still to this day I think about this. The angst, the hurt, it's all in here and I love it.

Condemnation in Disguise by @inklore (marc spector)

This is one of those fics I think about again and again, I couldn't shake this one off after reading it for a while. I was just in love. The way you write the toxicity laced with love is stunning, this is one of my all-time favorites. Everything about this one is so raw and enticing.

2. Venus, Planet of Love by @peterthepark (steven grant)

The voice of Steven is stunning here. If you love friends to lovers I'm here to say that this is the one. It has all the feels and whenever I read it I just feel nice and fuzzy (and also horny because damn the smut is stunning)

3. Spirals and Skin by @clints-lucky-arrow (steven grant)

As someone with tattoos, I was mesmerized by this. I still think about how desperate Steven was in the kitchen and how he painted readers tattoos. Just amazing, I love it so much.

4. Mirror's Edge by @astroboots (marc , steven)

I will never, ever, forget this one. Especially the ending with steven being so comforting and coming out, and the writing stunning. The emotions I felt while reading this was so real.

5. Talking Shadows by @foli-vora (khonshu)

Yes, Khonshu. The writing is beautiful, the feeling, and the way Khonshu is constantly talking in the background. I couldn't forget this one even if I tried.

Ngl after multiverse of madness my love for Doctor Strange took quite a large hit BUT Linda's writing in this was amazing and one of the doctor strange fics that stuck with me still to this day. It's dark, emotional and fantastic

I'm pretty sure anyone who knows me knows how much I adore this series. It's my comfort, my safe space and Kelli's writing is to die for. The emotions this fic has is brilliant and I'll never forget it.

2. Stay Close by @ezrasbirdie (pero trovar)

This series has everything; action, spice, fluff, hurt/comfort. It's everything wrapped in an absolutely beautifully written package. I love it, one of the rare fics that I truly relate to the reader. I can never have too much of it.

3. Sex Worker!frankie morales au by @prolix-yuy (frankie morales)

This one feels like a nice warm bowl of soup on a cold day. It has all the feels, amazing story-building and the smut is delicious. I cannot recommend this one enough. One of my favorite frankie's.

4. Palomino by @fuckyeahdindjarin (jack daniels)

Another one of my comfort fics, cowboy jack is truly something else and a threat of giving me a heart attack. This fic is charming, the mutual pining is everything and I have no idea what I would do without it.

5. Mutual by @the-scandalorian (din djarin)

This is just one of those stories that makes me feel so much. I love Din in this, I love their relationship and how they come together. The drabble for the series absolutely wrecked my heart. It's hot, it's emotional and reader is one I can relate to. Just perfect.

Celestial Navigation by @write-and-buried (dieter bravo)

The storytelling and world-building here is phenomenal. One of my favorite Dieter's and the fact that this is a coffee shop AU makes it even better. I will never forget the dirty talking in this, NEVER.

Adversity by @the-ginger-hedge-witch (ezra & frankie morales)

One of my favorite westerns to date, I love the combination of ezra and frankie and adore the way their relationship grows when a third is added. The writing is amazing and one of those fics I can't simply read forever.

Meant to be by @radiowallet (oberyn martell)

I honestly think that I don't scream about this one enough. Cat manages to show paintings with nothing but words and the story, the arranged marriage, the soulmates, everything about it is beautiful.

Darkroom Din by @honestly-shite

I love the details in this one of my other favorite Din's to read, the atmosphere and tension are so vivid in my head that I could legit feel it in my heart, just excellent.

This one sends chills down my spine, the raw fear and emotion this fic has are outstanding and memorable. I still have the scene with the radio locked in my head, giving me a good little fear when nighttime rolls around. (and the adorable chip is a huge bonus)

2. Like a Moth To the Flame by @the-scandalorian (din djarin)

Monster Din is one of the best creations and I adore him. The word you built with this one is so vivid and as I said before whenever it rains I think about them, monster!din going on a hunt lives rent-free in my mind, and the scene where reader is taking a dip in the lake.

3. Postcards by @write-and-buried (joel miller)

Reading this gave me goosebumps, everything that happens in it feels so real and I love how tense everything feels from chapter one. One of the joel fics that inspire me the most.

4. Reflective by @prolix-yuy (max phillips)

I screamed about this to you multiple times but honestly, this two-parter lives rent-free in my head. Especially the scene after reader leaves, absolutely horrifying and sexy, best of both worlds.

Ah yes, homecoming. My second biggest comfort fic. It seriously helped me through a lot and everything about it I love. One of my favorite portrayals of Santiago, I relate to him a ridiculous amount and this series will forever live in my heart.

2. Stranger At My Gate by @leslie-lyman (pero tovar)

This is the perfect holiday/winter read. I love this one a not-so-normal amount, it gives me all the feels, laughter, and all the good warm fuzzy feelings. I love the story-telling, the magic, and your pero I adore.

3. Learning curves by @ezrasbirdie (frankie morales)

I read this when I wasn't in such a good place mentally and I swear that it healed me. The emotion, the fluff, the angst, all of it combined in this masterpiece of a series. I feel seen with this one and will never forget the frankie x benny x reader threesome. Live rent free in my head always.

4. Like a River by @radiowallet (marcus moreno, frankie morales)

I remember reading this like it was yesterday. The way their relationship blooms and forms despite the awkward moments is stunning and the way you thread everything together is outstanding. Again, like with all your works, I am in awe of your talent of making the reader able to literally see what you're describing.

Calculated Risks by @pedrito-friskito (dieter bravo)

This fic is the perfect friends-to-lovers story to me, I love the fact that it grew into something more after a one shot and the way you have written their relationship growing and evolving is heartwarming. One of my favorite Dieter's.

A Room With A View by @absurdthirst (zach wellinson)

The first Zach fics I read and it was amazing. I love how they spontaneously meet and reading how Zach slowly regains his confidence thanks to reader's kindness. Zach's shower I will never forget.

The first fic I read of yours and it was love at first sight. The ending is still with me and the storytelling is something I take inspiration from when writing my own work. Loved the details, the enemies to lovers, the angst, the smut-- One of my faves for sure.

2. Between the Raindrops by @jazzelsaur (frankie morales)

The emotions this one makes me go through are such an amazing ride. The characterization, the way you tie everything together is true craftsmanship and I am here for it. This series brought me near to tears despite the fact that I still haven't finished it yet (which is a crime) It's one of the most amazing things I read and Ellie (and you ofc) really inspired me to write my own ofc's.

3. you're somebody else @foli-vora (marcus pike )

Thinking about the betrayal in this one still makes my chest ache not gonna lie. Absolutely brutal but yet also intriguing, love the way you've written Marcus here, it's one of those stories that makes your mind crawl back to it

4. Red Flags Masterlist by @astroboots & @thirstworldproblemss (moonknight)

This one is absolutely one of my favorite Moonknight fics, the characterization is superb, the feeling and emotion this one has got me every time. It made me laugh multiple times and also made me worry about what might happen. Stunning writing and perfect in every way

5. One Step at a Time by @foli-vora (pero tovar)

This fic has lived in my mind rent free ever since I read it. I adore your Pero here and how they slowly learn to trust one another. This one isn't completed yet but I just cant wait to read more.

Drarry fanfic rec list

A list of my all time favourites gathered from my nearly 5 years of reading this ship. I’d like to say I’m joking when I tell you my weekly screen time for ao3 has been 25hrs the entire time, but I’m very serious.

Most of these are the classics because they’re raved about for a reason! Almost all are very sad and share common themes. My projection is painfully obvious at times. Either way this is a great beginners list.

The Bucket List (32k words)

Draco will die in six months if he can't get Harry Potter to fall in love with him. Since that's not going to happen, he might as well spend his last days working through his Bucket List. Tap-dancing lessons? Rock climbing? Poetry-writing? Threesomes? Cocaine? Getting to know his adorable cousin, Teddy Lupin? Draco will try them all!

You will cry. That’s a warning. And probably for the entire duration.

It’s a good read if you feel like you’re always stuck in the same place emotionally, having an identity crises and/or grieving.

It’s an absolutely rollercoaster, and wonderfully authentic. Draco’s friendship with Pansy is beautiful. His character is dorky and his humour wonderfully twisted.

You will laugh a surprising amount. There’s lots of angst, drama, and Hurt/comfort. What more could you possibly want?

Your own mortality will haunt you, and you’ll need to give your loved ones a hug after this read.

Tea And No Sympathy (70k)

It's Potter's fault, of course, that Draco finds himself trapped in the same twenty-four-hour period, repeating itself over and over again. It's been nearly a year since the unpleasant business at Hogwarts, and Draco's getting on with his life quite nicely, thank you, until Harry sodding Potter steps in and ruins it all, just like always. At first, though, the time loop seems liberating. For the first time in his life, he can do anything, say anything, be anything, without consequence. But the more Draco repeats the day, the more he realises the uncomfortable truth: he's falling head over heels for the speccy git. And suddenly, the time loop feels like a trap. For how can he ever get Harry to love him back when time is, quite literally, against him?

Another great read if you feel like nothing will ever get better. An inspiring tale about learning to be authentic about who you are and what you want.

The writing is amazing and again with plenty of humour. Watching Draco grow, experience freedom, and be torn down over and over again will leave you feeling lighter and your struggles a little more manageable.

Lessons In Grace And Decorum (49k)

In Azkaban, Narcissa Malfoy gives Draco lessons in how to manipulate people into loving him. When Draco is released on the condition that he is bonded to Harry as his prisoner, he finally has a chance to put his newfound skills into practice.

Possibly my all time favourite. Once again this will make you cry your heart out.

The writing is so beautiful I can’t praise it enough. It deals with grief in such a raw and painfully accurate way. Featuring record breaking amounts of angst.

Draco so lonely you can’t help but hurt for him. And Harry is understandably very broken after the war.

If you feel misunderstood there’ll never be a fic better to project onto than this.

Running On Air (75k)

Draco Malfoy has been missing for three years. Harry is assigned the cold case and finds himself slowly falling in love with the memories he collects

Generally regarded as the best drarry fic out there, and with good reason.

Incredible use of liminal spaces. It will make you think and feel in equal parts. It alters your perspective and you’ll leave feeling like you’ve changed somehow. Definitely a fic that stays with you. It never fails to leave me in a daze.

Deals with feeling like you don’t fit in anywhere, loneliness and the world moving on without you.

Who We Are In The Shadows (100k)

What happens when you’re forced to become the very thing you despise?

Ex-Auror Harry Potter, tossed out of the Ministry for something he had no control over, has been looking for a way back to his former life. When he comes across Draco Malfoy in the criminal underbelly of Wizarding London and in need of protection, Harry figures bringing him in to face the Ministry's justice is his ticket back to everything he's lost.

But nothing is exactly as it seems. Not even Harry himself. And as he gets drawn further and further into Malfoy's world of honour and deception he finds himself questioning everything he thought he knew—about his childhood nemesis, the Ministry job he misses so much, and most of all, about himself. What happens when you’re forced to see that you were wrong?

Another one to bring the tissues for, but not as heart breaking as some of the others. It will leave you inspired and with some introspection to do.

There’s so many layers to this story. The mystery keeps you on the edge of your seat. Draco and Harry’s characterisation are breathtaking.

Gratuitous identity porn. Tackles loneliness, internalised prejudice, and learning to live with who you are. It was a ride from start to finish, and I cried when it was over because I wasn’t ready to let go.

Stop All the Clocks (This Is the Last Time I’m Leaving Without You) (45k)

Living with Draco was difficult; living without him is unbearable. But if there’s one thing Harry learned from the war, it’s that even when one life ends, the rest of the world goes right on living.

The perfect read for the empty hours of 3am. There’s no words for how viscerally heartbreaking this work is. It had me bursting into tears at random intervals even two weeks after finishing it.

The writing is beautiful, and the way the author intertwines the past and present creates an effortlessly fluid effect.

If you’re grieving, this fic will encapsulate what you feel like no other. The attention to detail transports you into Harry’s skin.

I seriously doubt i’ll ever be able to face this again, as much as I’d love to. I’ve never felt so empty as I had after this. A thorough emotional cleansing leading to a catharsis like none other.

Tissues of silver (76k, series 122k)

A love story concerning possessed furniture, black silk pyjamas, courtroom drama, premonitions of doom, assassination attempts, Death Eater yoga, absinthe, bare feet and a sensible werewolf. Beware: coarse language, brief drug use, some sexual content, and consideration of issues of sexual consent.

Will have you crying and laughing in equal measures. Sometimes even crying from laughter.

Draco’s character is so layered it’s incredible. It bridges the gap between canon and fanon Draco. It highlights his role as a pawn, creating sympathy as we see parallels between him and Harry on both sides of the war.

The writing is commendably executed. The dialogue creates incredible tension, the verbal sparring is unparalleled. Some moments will have you holding your breath.

Severus lovers will greatly enjoy his role in this story. He’s the character we rooted for him to be in canon.

One of the really old school drarry classics, written before many of the books.

Can I Tell You Something (34k)

It's not a party unless Draco Malfoy is there. He's so fun! So wild! So crazy! So many drugs! So many drugs. Too many drugs? Harry's starting to think it's probably a lot too many drugs.

A startlingly accurate portrayal of what it’s like to love a drug addict, and painful for it. Deals with loneliness, identity crises, general hopelessness and loving someone who doesn’t love themselves.

Draco’s growth as a person is beautiful and leaves you inspired. The sort of read that makes you think maybe it really can get better. A great take on empowerment and conquering your traumas.

It’s definitely heavy, heed the trigger warnings.

The Light More Beautiful (81k)

Thirteen years after Draco accepts Potter's help escaping the horror of his sixth year, he returns to England where he makes the unfortunate discovery that Potter is still as obnoxious as ever. And worse, more than a decade overseas hasn't been enough to dim Draco's obsession with him.

Significantly more humour and less tears than the others on this list. Running jokes suck you into feeling involved. I can’t tell you much much I laughed reading this. Some parts had me chuckling to myself in public like a madman.

Still a healthy dose of angst and an even healthier dose of pining. There’s so many lines you’ll want to screenshot to reread again later. The character growth is phenomenal and their relationships layered.

Pansy’s character here is my absolute favourite depiction of her! You’ll be itching to read more of her.

The tension is thick enough a knife couldn’t cut it, and the smut is intensely erotic. What’s not to love?!

All Our Secrets Laid Bare (150k)

Over the six years Draco Malfoy has been an Auror, four of his partners have turned up dead. Harry Potter is assigned as his newest partner to investigate just what is going on.

The writing is amazingly intricate, and the symbolism is beautiful. It’s so difficult to put down, you’ll want to stay absorbed in their world. The plot is absolutely gripping and complex. It’s definitely the kind of story you revisit like an old friend from time to time.

A very healthy dose of angst and tension built. A lighter read than the others, but you may still cry. But it’s heavier on the fluff too!

The characters are equally frustrating as they are lovable. This fic will definitely put your emotional range to the test.

THIS IS ALWAYS SUCH A HARD QUESTION!!! Okiee, I'm going to pick five of my favs and attempt to limit myself to one fav per person, which again, is really hard, cuz I repeatedly go back to them and reread ALL their stuff.

Silver & Gold by @sagemcmae - I just... I will never be able to convey in words how much I love this fic. I can't even tell you how many times I've read it cuz it's a LOT! It's SOOO amazing and Sage's writing is SOOO good and the character portrayal is amazing! It checks off every box for what makes a good fic and if you're a SessKag fan and haven't read this one, READ IT NOW! Along with everything else she's written.

The Arrangement by @mrfeenysmustache - Another fic I've read a million times. Smut ✅, pining ✅, idiots in love ✅, angst with a happy ending ✅. ALL THESE AND MORE! Y'all KNOW I'm all about the fluff, but I literally cannot get enough of her angst with a happy ending fics and Feeny is the MASTER. Another SessKag masterpiece.

And She was Golden by @justalonelywriter - the amount of screaming I do in each review is ridiculous and I'm surprised she hasn't gone deaf yet. Dramione done to perfection! I mean, I'm a complete sucker for secret pining, but Draco's inner monologue, especially with all his inner demons, is SPECTACULAR! I'm pretty sure I have to sit back and just process the magnificence at the end of each chapter before I actually start screaming cuz it's THAT GOOD!

Discarded Wings by @neutronstarship/@neutronstarchild and @elevenharbor - Another author that I could name a ton of amazing fics with, but this one was EXCEPTIONALLY good. The premise is fantastic and just when you THINK you know what's going to happen next, she turns it around and gives you something even better. Another highly recommended SessKag AU and the art that goes with it is freaking STUNNING! I could stare at it for DAYS.

Okiee, I'm forcing myself to stop. Again, I could go on for days about my favourite authors AND fics, and these authors have multiple favs of mine, and y'all know how I love to gush. Please never stop writing! I'm always on the edge of my seat any time I get an update notification from you!

Speak for Yourself (RWRB)

my original baby. certainly not my best writing by a long shot, but this fic pulled me out of a massive slump, handed me the keys to a beautiful fandom where i made a bunch of really cool friends and just generally made me so happy. i never planned this fic, and yet somehow (after over 105k) it came together so perfectly in the end. almost like it was meant to be.

get it right, to get around me (911 Lone Star)

this hurt to write, but it was one of those moments where i sat down in front of my computer, started typing and couldn't stop. i wrote, edited and posted this fic in five hours - i was that drawn to it. it's not often that i get off the rom-com train, but when i do, i love playing with season 1 tk. i think this was my best character study to date.

Still Waters Run Deep (911 Lone Star)

i just think this is my best writing to date (notwithstanding the fact it is un-beta'd and therefore has some grammar mistakes). also, did i mention that i am unwell for season 1 tk? i am.

Luck of the Draw (RWRB)

a fic i wrote for @stardisnightarchive which incorporated her two beautiful ocs. if you've read this fic, you'll know why it's on the list. the emails in chapter 2 were probably the silliest, stupidest things i've ever written, and i'm not even embarrassed to say that i made myself laugh.

Love Game (911 Lone Star)

okay. okay. i know it's a wip. but aside from Speak for Yourself, i don't think i've ever been this obsessed with writing a fic. the intersection of my interests, the characters, the social media interactions, the fact that it is so. damn. meta. the scheming that went into this was next level, and the ending (if i can pull it off) will be some of my best work.
